  • Mikel Leshoure RB-DETWednesday, May 22 at 1:21pm

Leshoure (undisclosed) is not participating in OTAs, the Detroit News reports.

  • Michael Crabtree WR-SFWednesday, May 22 at 1:18pm

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Crabtree has already undergone surgery on his torn Achilles tendon.

Analysis: Details will continue to trickle in with regards to the severity of Crabtree's Achilles tendon tear and the estimated timetable for his return, but either way, his injury will have a major impact on the 49ers' plans for the coming season. At first glance, the team's acquisition of Anquan Boldin takes on added importance, with the likes of A.J. Jenkins potentially in line for added opportunities, as well as TE Vernon Davis and WR Quinton Patton.

  • Hakeem Nicks WR-NYGWednesday, May 22 at 12:10pm

Nicks (knee) was not present at Wednesday's OTAs, the New York Daily News reports.

Analysis: It sounds like Nicks is in the New York area and the Giants were expecting him to show up. He may still be somewhat limited after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee, but that doesn't explain his absence Wednesday. We'll keep you posted on any further updates regarding Nicks.

  • Michael Crabtree WR-SFWednesday, May 22 at 11:14am

According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today, Crabtree will reportedly require surgery after suffering a torn Achilles during the 49ers' OTAs.

Analysis: Meanwhile, ESPN's Adam Schefter notes that Crabtree is undergoing additional tests to confirm the injury. We'll await verification of the report, but assuming Crabtree's Achilles is torn as feared, then he would be in line to miss most, if not all, of the coming season. While the 49ers could seek veteran help in the wake of this development, young receivers A.J. Jenkins and Quinton Patton could well be called upon to help fill the void.

  • Jameel McClain LB-BALWednesday, May 22 at 10:27am

McClain (back) was a limited participant in Tuesday's OTAs, the Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson reports.

Analysis: McClain is recovering from a spinal cord contusion that ended his 2012 season in December. He looks like a good bet to hold down one starting inside linebacker spot, that is if he's healthy. While the early reports have been positive, the injury necessitates a cautious approach.
