Johnson said he'd like to see the Texans draft a wide receiver with their first-round pick (27th overall), the Houston Chronicle reports. "I'd like to have another (receiver)," Johnson said at his annual football camp for kids. "I'm all for it. I've asked for it for awhile. The more weapons we have, the better it'll be for the team."
Analysis: The wide receiver position is certainly one the Texans are considering in the first round. The team released Kevin Walter in the offseason and DeVier Posey is not expected until mid-season because he's recovering from surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Johnson caught eight balls for 95 yards in Sunday's loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: Johnson caught eight of the 11 balls thrown his way, but it wasn't enough for the Texans, who fell in the Divisional Round for the second year in a row. Johnson finished the 2012 season with 1,598 yards, but scored only four touchdowns.

Johnson caught 12 passes (17 targets) for 141 yards in Houston's loss to Indianapolis on Sunday. He also had one big drop on a play that would have been a touchdown if he held on.

Johnson had seven catches on 10 targets for 97 yards Sunday against the Vikings.
Analysis: Johnson led the Texans in targets, receptions, and receiving yards on a day when no other player finished with more than 30 yards. With his seven catches, Johnson now has 100 on the season, making him the fifth player in NFL history to have at least 100 catches in four or more seasons. The good news for fantasy owners is that the Texans lost, which means they have something to play for in Week 17 against the Colts.

Analysis: A great performance from Johnson at just the right time for fantasy owners. He's now hit the 100-yard mark four times in the seven games since the Texans' bye in Week 8, recording double digit targets in all but two games in that span. Johnson caught eight passes for 95 yards Monday against the Patriots.
Analysis: He was targeted a team high 10 times in a game where Houston failed to show up in a big spot. The loss actually helps fantasy owners as the Texans should have much to play for in the final three weeks instead of potentially resting players. Up next is a tasty matchup for Johnson and the passing game as the Colts secondary has been burned by Wes Welker, Stevie Johnson, Calvin Johnson, and Kenny Britt the past four weeks.

Johnson (groin) caught five passes (seven targets) for 56 yards in Houston's win over Tennessee in Week 1.
Analysis: Johnson caught all five of his passes in the first half, and then was not a big target in the second half as the Titans schemed against him. "I'm just disappointed I didn't get the ball to Andre," Texans head coach Gary Kubiak told the Houston Chronicle. "I'm disappointed in myself. Analysis: Johnson was limited at the Texans' first two practices of the week, but he got in a full workout Friday and is good to go for this week. Johnson was held to just three catches in Houston's Week 4 victory over Tennessee, but with averages of nine receptions, 12.5 targets, and just over 129 yards over his last six games, he will be worthy of a starting spot in most, if not all, formats this week.

Analysis: Johnson now has back-to-back 100-yard receiving performances, bringing his total to four on the season. During that recent stretch, he's racked up a whopping 461 yards and one touchdown, which is certainly helping out fantasy owners in the stretch run of the regular season after up-and-down outings characterized the first half of his campaign. Fourteen catches, 273 yards and a walk-off touchdown. So much for being old and slow." FULL WEEK 12 POWER RANKINGS

Schaub passes way into history books
Schaub threw a career-high five touchdown passes, completed a franchise-record 43 passes and finished with 527 yards passing, second most in NFL history. Andre Johnson accounted for more than half of Schaub's total yardage, hauling in 14 catches for 273 yards and a score. WATCH HIGHLIGHTS
Analysis: The result was a 37.08 point day for Schaub owners, a total which could have him finishing as the top-scoring fantasy player of Week 11. At number two is Johnson, who totaled 33.30 points for the day. While this kind of output on a weekly basis can't be expected, to see the duo regain their chemistry in time for a playoff run is a welcome sight for fantasy owners.

Johnson had 14 catches on 19 targets for 273 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's overtime win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Johnson was an absolute beast Sunday and managed to even outproduce Jaguars' rookie Justin Blackmon, who had seven catches for 236 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown was a 48-yarder to end the game in overtime and was his first score since Week 3 at Denver. He has now eclipsed the 100-yard mark twice in the last three games. Analysis: We expect Johnson to be fine for Sunday's game against the Bills and hopefully the Texans' Week 8 bye gave his body's aches and pains some well-timed mid-season relief. The Bills are allowing a less-than-stellar average of 247.3 passing yards per game (with 14 TDs in the air to date), but given that their run defense has been easily the worst in the league, it's not hard to imagine the Texans riding Arian Foster and co. hard on Sunday.

Coach Gary Kubiak said it's his responsibility to get Johnson (groin) more involved in the offense, the Texans' official site reports. After an explosive Week 1 in which Johnson caught eight passes for 119 yards, the wide receiver has been limited to nine catches, 164 yards and one touchdown the previous four weeks, including his one-catch performance in last Monday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: A combination of Houston running the ball so much and defenses scheming for Johnson has resulted in diminished production. "Other guys are making plays because of Andre, I can tell you that, because they're (defenses are) paying so much attention to him, but (we) still need to get him more involved with what we're doing, so that's my responsibility," said the coach. Antonio Cromartie deserves kudos for holding Andre Johnson to one catch for 15 yards. It's alarming to see A.J. struggle with man coverage for an entire game. It was shocking the Texans didn't go to him more on the goal line in single coverage. Then again, Johnson only had one grab in six targets. This is something to watch.

Johnson (groin) had two catches for 49 yards Saturday during Houston's 20-9 preseason win against San Francisco.
Analysis: Among Johnson's two catches was a 43-yard leaping grab between two defenders, indicating that his sore groin is a thing of the past. This is great news for fantasy owners, who now don't have to deal with ever-changing news regarding his progress. Yes, his injury history makes it likely we'll reach that point again during the season, but for now, consider him healthy for all intents and purposes.

Under normal circumstances, resting their key players would be in order, but on the heels of back-to-back losses to Indianapolis and Carolina, the Texans may decide ending on a winning note is worth the risk of rolling with starters, at least while the outcome of Week 17's game is in question.

The Falcons defense isn't quite as good as the oddly excellent Jaguars' unit, and with another week of practice, it's possible Yates and Johnson will have more chemistry this week. Still, the quarterback situation in Houston has made Johnson a big question mark for the rest of the season.

Johnson (knee) is listed as probable for Sunday's game agaisnt the Falcons, HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield reports.
Analysis: Johnson should be out there this week with no play count limitations, but it will be interesting to see what sort of rapport he has with rookie QB Tyler Yates in a game that could feature a ground-heavy Texans' approach.

Coach Gary Kubiak said that Johnson (knee) "took everything in practice" Friday, HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield reports.
Analysis: Kubiak added, "I don't have a play count on him this week," which suggests that the knee issue that limited Johnson earlier this week is a minor one that shouldn't hamper him Sunday against the Falcons. What sort of chemistry he develops with rookie QB T.J. Yates is probably the larger question with regards to Johnson's productivity this week.

Johnson (knee) was limited at practice Thursday, the Texans' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson's Week 13 status does not seem to be in any peril, but it looks like the Texans will be bringing him along slowly at practice as he bounces back from a lengthy absence due to a knee injury.

Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said Johnson (hamstring) made it through Week 12 fine, but was concerned that he played him too much, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Kubiak said he gave Johnson about 10 to 12 snaps more than anticipated and that left the wide receiver, playing for the first time in seven weeks, tired. The coach added "it's going to take a few weeks for [Johnson] to get back to himself."

Johnson (hamstring) had just two catches for 22 yards in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Johnson saw only three looks the entire game, and his first catch didn't come until very late in the third quarter. It was his first game in two months, so some rust was to be expected. The big news from Sunday's game, however, is that Matt Leinart hurt his collarbone and could be done for the season, leaving T.J. Yates as the team's top quarterback.

Johnson (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Ending an eight-week absence, Johnson will play for the first time since Week 4 against the Steelers. There may be some rust, but you can expect plenty of targets, per usual. Johnson was a full participant in practice all week.

Andre Johnson: (Hamstring) Probable
Johnson (hamstring) practiced fully all week and is probable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, the Texans' official site reports.
Analysis: We'll have to see if Johnson sees his full load of snaps in his long-awaited return, but barring an in-game setback Sunday, he should see enough targets to help his owners out for the first time since Week 4.

Johnson (hamstring) had another full day of practice Thursday and is expected to play Sunday against Jacksonville, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Texans head coach Gary Kubiak reiterated his point that they won't be sending Johnson "out there and play 60, 70 play," but the wideout is ready to go.

Coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday that the Texans won't "throw (Johnson/hamstring) out there and play him 70 plays" on Sunday, but added that that the wideout's endurance won't be a factor, HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield reports.
Analysis: Johnson practiced fully Wednesday and noted that he is feeling good. At this point, only a setback will prevent Johnson from returning the the Texans' lineup Sunday against the Jaguars.

Johnson (hamstring) practiced at full speed Monday and should be able to play against Jacksonville in Week 12, the Houston Chronicle reports. "Andre was fine," Houston head coach Gary Kubiak said. "He took all his reps with the team. We will monitor his reps in practice and probably going into the game, but all systems should be go this weekend."
Analysis: Johnson hasn't played in a game since injuring his hamstring Oct. 2 in a win over Pittsburgh. He returns to find a new quarterback directing the offense. Matt Leinart is stepping in for the injured Matt Schaub (foot). We suspect the Texans will try to make life as easy as possible for Leinart, who last played an NFL game in 2009. And that means a heavy reliance on the running game, so we may not see Johnson breaking out all over the field.

Andre Johnson: (Hamstring) Out This Week
Johnson (hamstring) will not play this week, according to coach Gary Kubiak, HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield reports.
Analysis: The good news here is that Kubiak said that he fully expects Johnson to be ready to go for the Texans' Nov. 27 game at Jacksonville, following the team's bye week. Johnson's continued absence will once again provide Jacoby Jones and Kevin Walter with added opportunities Sunday against the Bucs.

Johnson (hamstring) said he's "almost full speed" and will run again Friday before the decision-makers huddle to assess his status for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: "Everything's been going pretty positive. I'm excited about it. I feel pretty good. I'm going to run again (Friday), and we'll see what happens from there. I'll see how it feels to make sure I'm comfortable." With the Texans on a roll, particularly the running game, the prudent decision is to let Johnson sit out Week 10 and the team's bye week in Week 11.

Coach Gary Kubiak said Thursday that Johnson (hamstring) is "doing extremely well," adding that if the wideout practices Friday, he could be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Bucs, HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield reports.
Analysis: Kubiak also noted that Johnson "had his best day" of rehab Thursday. That said, with the Texans off in Week 11, the team could well decide to play it safe with their star wideout this weekend (with the long haul in mind) even if he's capable of giving it a go.

Andre Johnson: No Practice Wednesday Or Thursday
Johnson did not practice Wednesday and will be held out of practice Thursday as well. However, he has not been ruled out for Sunday's game, the Texans' official site reports.
Analysis: At this point, the most likely outcome would appear to be Johnson missing his sixth straight game. The Texans may be inclined to hold him out even if he's around 70-to-80 percent with their bye coming next week. Jacoby Jones and Kevin Walter will remain the top wide receivers for Matt Schaub if Johnson can't go.

Andre Johnson: (Hamstring) Day-To-Day Again
Johnson (hamstring) "had a good workout" Monday, according to coach Gary Kubiak. He is considered day-to-day, the Texans' official Twitter feed reports.
Analysis: We've heard this one before. Johnson will need to appear in practice and go through the motions before owners can feel confident about his participation Sunday. At six weeks from the injury, it would be about the right time for him to make a return, but nothing is guaranteed.

Johnson (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns, the Texans' official site reports.
Analysis: No surprise here, as he was already ruled out. Johnson will try to run at full speed at practice Monday. If he's able to do that, it will give a much better read on when he's likely to return.

Johnson, who will miss his fifth straight game this week because of a hamstring injury, will attempt to run at full speed Monday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Johnson attempted to go full speed this past Monday, but still felt the "tugging" inside his leg and was rested for the next three days before resuming a running program Friday.

Andre Johnson: Out For Week 9
Johnson will miss a fifth straight game with a hamstring injury, the Texans' official Twitter feed reports.
Analysis: The Texans are 2-2 in this stretch, but with the loss of arguably the most dynamic wide receiver in football, fantasy owners may not be so well off. Unfortunately, it appears to be at least another week until Johnson can take the field, and given the lack of tangible progress, it's tough to even project him back for Week 10 at this point.

Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said he's not afraid to play Johnson (hamstring) this weekend if the receiver "doesn't practice a whole lot," the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Johnson has missed practice days Wednesday and Thursday after working out Monday. Kubiak feels they may have pushed him a little too hard Monday, causing some soreness in the injured area. The report states Kubiak said Johnson would work Friday. However, in what capacity that means, can be open to interpretation.

Andre Johnson: (Hamstring) No Practice Thursday
Johnson (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield reports.
Analysis: Unfortunately for Johnson's owners, there might not be closure on his situation until game time Sunday. If he isn't at least a limited participant in Friday's practice, though, it would be difficult to see Johnson playing against Cleveland.

Johnson was given a "day of rest" on Wednesday and did not practice, the Texans' official site reports.

Coach Gary Kubiak said Johnson (hamstring) is sore and will not practice Wednesday, the Akron Beacon Journal's Nate Ulrich reports.
Analysis: The Texans will wait until later in the week to make a decision on Johnson's Week 9 status, but obviously an inability to practice Wednesday is not an encouraging sign. However, a lot can happen between now and Sunday, and Kubiak believes "there's a shot" that Johnson will play against the Browns.

The Texans coaches will know closer to end of the week whether Johnson (hamstring) can return to play in Week 9 against Cleveland, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Johnson has missed four full weeks and most of a fifth with the injury, but made important strides last week before being ruled out of Week 8's win over Jacksonville. The last hurdle for Johnson is the ability to accelerate and explode when he needs it. We'll know more as the week progresses.
