Depending on where he ends up, he could make for a nice sleeper pick in fantasy leagues with more looks potentially headed his way in a new offense.

Brandon Gibson: Likely Won't Return In 2013

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch doesn't believe that the Rams will re-sign Gibson this offseason.

Analysis: The Rams are thin at wide receiver with Danny Amendola and Gibson set to become unrestricted free agents this offseason. Re-signing Amendola is likely higher on the Rams' to-do list, but the two aren't close on terms. The Rams need to use their limited salary cap space on other assets, so Gibson may be catching balls for another team in 2013.

Gibson had three receptions for 45 yards in Week 17 and finished 2012 with 51 receptions for 691 yards and a team-leading five touchdowns.

Analysis: Gibson was listed as the Rams' No. 1 wide receiver on their depth chart for most of the year, but don't confuse the label as fact. He is, at best, a decent No. 2 wideout, and is far from a consistent, reliable fantasy option. That being said, he is just 25 years old and has shown some real potential. Gibson, along with Danny Amendola, will be a free agent this offseason, and it's likely the team will decide to keep one or the other and spend the rest of their money on a potential No. 1 wideout like Victor Cruz. If Gibson is back, he'll once again compete for one of the starting jobs, but up-and-comers like Chris Givens and Brian Quick may make that more difficult than it has been the last three seasons.

Gibson had six catches on eight targets for 76 yards Sunday against the Vikings.

Analysis: Gibson has been a popular option lately, with 17 total targets over the last two games. While he doesn't get into the end zone that often, he seems to be getting the yardage lately to make him a feasible option in some fantasy leagues.

Gibson had a team-high 100 yards on six receptions with one touchdown during the Rams comeback victory at Buffalo in Week 14.

Analysis: Gibson, who was held without a reception in Week 13 against the 49ers, came through in a big way on Sunday and re-established himself as one of the Rams' primary receiving threats. Of course being one of the Rams' primary receiving threats is still a long way from being a primary fantasy receiving threat.

Gibson had three catches on five targets for nine yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Jets.

Analysis: A fairly quiet game for Gibson, if not for the two touchdowns. Nevertheless, for those who needed him as a bye-week fill-in were surely bragging about their move. His five targets were good for fourth on the team, behind Danny Amendola, Chris Givens and Austin Pettis, all of whom finished with more yards.

Analysis: Gibson, the club's No. 1 wide receiver, was almost non-existent all game until a 24 yard gain to end everything in OT. He was targeted six times and based on his status on the depth chart one has to believe he'll be more active in Week 11 when the Rams take on the Jets.

Analysis: Gibson had been the club's most targeted wide receiver since Danny Amendola went down with his collarbone injury, but was targeted just those three times on Sunday. With Amendola set to return after the Rams' bye and rookie Chris Givens having become the club's primary deep threat, we can only assume that Gibson's high water mark as a fantasy option has come and gone.

Analysis: Gibson has been the steady, high-target guy. Givens has had at least 50 yards in four consecutive games, and more than 150 yards in the past two.

With Danny Amendola (collarbone) out for at least the next month, Gibson figures to be the No. 1 receiving threat in his absence. He's unlikely to match Amendola's nearly 10 targets per game, but Gibson should experience a modest bump in his 4.6 through five weeks.

Analysis: Even if it's not a broken collarbone, Amendola could be out of action for a significant amount of time. Brandon Gibson is next in line as the Rams' top target, but he's not yet worthy of starting in most fantasy leagues.
