Johnson admitted to suffering injuries to his fingers last season, but wouldn't confirm if they were indeed broken, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Johnson vaguely answered and sidestepped direct questions to whether or not he played with broken digits during the 2012 season, a pretty good indication that he did indeed play through that injury. He still had a monster year by most statistical accounts, though his touchdowns did drop significantly. Give he still had 122 grabs and 1,964 yards, it's probably safe too assume the potential injury didn't cause the decrease in scores, though certainly makes those numbers even more impressive. The Lions could find themselves in trouble with the league, though, if it's proven they did not properly disclose the ailments on injury reports.

Johnson agreed to a simple contract restructure last week that freed up $3.428 million in cap space for the Lions, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Johnson helped the team out by restructuring but didn't take a pay cut. Most of his base salary was converted into a signing bonus, which can be spread over five years for cap purposes.

There are reports that Johnson has three broken fingers on one hand, the Detroit News reports. "I am not going to comment on any of our players' health," coach Jim Schwartz said when asked about Johnson's fingers. "But that's not uncommon for a wide receiver."
Analysis: The report adds that Johnson, who played with at least two broken fingers most of this season, has been spotted this offseason with his hand wrapped. In any case, Johnson was able to post monster numbers through all of his various aches and pains this past season and he is fully expected to be ready for the Lions' OTAs and training camp.

Johnson will have his knee re-examined in the coming days and could require offseason surgery, the Oakland Press reports.
Analysis: Johnson was bothered by the knee all season, but any surgery he might need wouldn't be anything extensive. Johnson will likely be the top receiver taken in yearly leagues after posting an absurd 1,964 yards this season, and could even merit No. 1 overall consideration with his flukish touchdown total (five) almost assured to increase.

Johnson finished the season with 122 receptions for 1,964 yards and five touchdowns.
Analysis: Johnson just missed out on hitting the 2,000-yard mark for the season, but the real agonizing statistic for fantasy owners is the five touchdowns. It's likely a bit of a function of luck after such a monster season last year, but still a low number for such a prolific wide receiver. The Lions are going to be relying on him just as much next season and he'll likely be the first wideout off the board in most drafts.

Johnson (knee) had 11 catches for 225 yards Saturday against the Falcons.
Analysis: All hail Megatron. Johnson broke Jerry Rice's single-season receiving yards record and now stands at 1,892 yards on the season with a game to go. Considering Johnson has four straight games with at least 10 catches and 118 yards, 2,000 yards seems well within reach. However, if he does have one nemesis it may be Chicago's Charles Tillman, who will now be re-matched against Johnson in Week 17 after containing him to just three catches for 34 yards earlier during Week 6.

Calvin Johnson shines for Detroit Lions despite limits
Calvin Johnson wasn't on a snap-count per se against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but the Detroit Lions coaching staff exercised caution with their star receiver. Megatron was mindful himself, but the coaches pulled him for 12 of 72 offensive snaps in the Lions' 31-14 victory. Johnson usually plays every snap.
Analysis: Megatron missing practices during the week shouldn't be a concern for fantasy owners. He's good enough to show up on Sundays and produce. But Johnson being pulled for snaps during the game is worrisome. But as long as his numbers look like they did in Week 9, we won't fret.

Johnson, who caught seven passes for 129 yards Sunday, doesn't expect his knee issue to go away any time soon, Mlive.com reports. "It's something that I expect to linger. You just got to stay on top of it with treatments," Johnson noted after Sunday's game.
Analysis: In other words, look for Johnson to continue to be limited at practice, but as long as his knee injury doesn't get any worse, he'll continue to manage it and play through the pain.

Johnson (knee) had seven catches on eight targets for 129 yards Sunday against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Johnson was questionable heading into the game but he certainly did more than enough for fantasy owners who decided to play him anyway. It was Megatron's fourth game with over 110 receiving yards, although he still only has one touchdown on the season. He faces the Vikings next week, who came into Week 9 with the 12th ranked defense against the pass this year.

Calvin Johnson: (Knee) Could Be Limited To Third Downs If Active
Johnson (knee) could be limited to third down situations Sunday against Jacksonville, if he plays at all, NFL.com reports.
Analysis: A knee injury kept Megatron from practicing all week, and it's sounding like he'll be a game-time decision Sunday. If the Lions activate Johnson, there's a chance he only sees the field on third downs. That doesn't mean he won't produce, but the star wideout has just six catches for 80 yards in the last two games.

Analysis: Johnson didn't practice all week, so his injury appears to be legitimate. With that said, it's difficult to see him sitting out Sunday for the most part. Analysis: Everyone in the NFL knows what Johnson is capable of on the playing field, so the Lions don't want to rush him back and risk an aggravation in practice. Analysis: The official injury report isn't available, but we're assuming Johnson's absence will be attributed to the Achilles' tendon issue that limited him to just one partial practice last week. We'll also assume that, barring aggravation, the injury is no threat to keep him from playing against the Saints.

Johnson (Achilles) had a career-high 11 receptions for 244 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's 45-41 loss at Green Bay.
Analysis: Johnson received a whopping 17 targets, and the Packers could do very little to stop him (he also drew a couple of pass interference calls). Johnson came up a little short of his first 100-catch campaign (96 receptions), but he led the NFL with 1,681 receiving yards and an NFC-best 16 touchdowns. Unfortunately for those in playoff leagues, the Lions could be one-and-done, facing a powerful Saints team in New Orleans.

Johnson (Achilles) is active for Sunday's game against the Packers, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: With the Lions still jockeying for playoff position, Johnson could be primed for a huge game Sunday since Charles Woodson is sitting this one out as the Packers try to avoid injuries in Week 17.

Calvin Johnson: (Achilles) Probable For Sunday
Johnson (Achilles) is probable for Sunday's game against Green Bay.
Analysis: Even with the injury, Sunday is a nice on-paper situation for Johnson. The Lions need to win to keep Atlanta from making a run at their current playoff seed, and the Packers have nothing to gain, meaning Johnson should be playing with playoff-like urgency against a team that's taking a preseason-like approach.

Calvin Johnson: (Achilles') Misses Another Practice
Johnson (Achilles') was not at practice Thursday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: So far there's been no buzz about Johnson possibly missing Sunday's contest against the Packers, but a return to practice Friday would certainly ease his owners' potential concerns regarding his Week 17 availability.

Johnson exploded in Sunday's 28-27 comeback win, catching nine passes (14 targets) for a career-high 214 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
Analysis: Johnson was great early and late, catching a 51-yard touchdown in the first quarter and scoring the game-winning touchdown in the final minute of regulation. He was outstanding on Detroit's final possession which started on its own two-yard line, catching three passes for 75 yards and drawing a pass interference call as well. After posting one of the worst games of his career last week, Johnson responded with one of his best Sunday, routinely beating Oakland defenders down the field.

Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said Tuesday that quarterback Matthew Stafford could have been more aggressive in targeting Johnson last week, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Johnson tied a season-low with 29 yards and he hasn't found the end zone in five contests. His abilities and earlier production make Johnson a very difficult wideout to sit, especially as many leagues are now headed to the playoffs. His numbers may not reach the level they were at during the season's first few weeks, but the Lions are sure to not let their best offensive weapon stay silent as they make a playoff push of their own.

Johnson finished with six catches and 69 receiving yards in Sunday's loss to New Orleans.
Analysis: Johnson was bracketed with double coverage all night, as it was evident the Saints' were not going to allow him to be the player who beat them. Even with all the attention, Megatron was able to post a modest outing, though not what owners were looking for, and it points to his immense talent. He remains a top option in fantasy despite the less-than-stellar numbers of late.

Johnson (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game against New Orleans.
Analysis: Matt Stafford has had a bit of trouble getting Johnson the ball lately, but there's reason to expect improvement now that Stafford is throwing without the assistance of gloves and a splint. Johnson's owners need to keep him active for this on-paper shootout.

Johnson (ankle) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Packers.
Analysis: We'll have to see if Johnson is bothered at all by his ankle injury, but he's out there Thursday and even at slightly less than 100 percent, he's clearly QB Matthew Stafford's top weapon on offense.

Johnson said that he passed a concussion test and will play Sunday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Johnson watched the end of the Lions' loss last weekend, but with the score out of hand there was no real point in playing him if he was dinged up. We'll get a clearer picture of where Johnson is once the Lions take the practice field, but things are at least pointed in the right direction at the moment.
