Bears among toughest vs. run
In his Week 16 "Start 'Em, Sit 'Em" analysis, Michael Fabiano notes, "the Bears have allowed just four rushing touchdowns and the third-fewest fantasy points to running backs this season." FULL START 'EM, SIT 'EM
Analysis: Wells came out of nowhere to score three touchdowns last week, so fantasy owners will be tempted to start him in Week 16. That said, the matchup does not bode well for a productive day.

Urlacher's career on the line
The Chicago Bears middle linebacker (Urlacher) has a Grade 2 hamstring tear that typically keeps players out 3-6 weeks. It's a possibility that Urlacher is not ready to return before Bears season is over -- whether that's in the regular season or playoffs. Sources told Schefter "it's not out of the realm of possibility" Urlacher could retire after the season. He'll be a free agent in the spring and has had no "substantial" talks with the organization. FULL REPORT
Analysis: With a matchup against the struggling Vikings offense, the Bears defense shouldn't have any issues posting a solid performance.

Bears battling injury bug
The Bears are dealing with a slew of injuries. Linebacker Brian Urlacher is expected to miss at least three games because of a strained hamstring, and the status of cornerback Tim Jennings is hazy because of a shoulder injury. FULL REPORT
Analysis: Adrian Peterson could have an easier day than expected as a result of the injuries. The Bears allowed Marshawn Lynch 87 yards rushing and a touchdown last week, the latest in a a string of opposing backs who have found success against the unit.

Forte to return for Week 13 action
Running back Matt Forte (ankle), linebacker Lance Briggs (ankle), and cornerback Charles Tillman (ankle) all are probable. The Bears won't have wide receivers Devin Hester (concussion) and Alshon Jeffrey (knee). FULL INJURY ROUNDUP
Analysis: Though Forte looks to return, a matchup against a stout Seattle defense and the performance of teammate Michael Bush could limit his potential. Brandon Marshall should continue to see a heavy amount of targets with few other options due to Jeffrey and Hester's injuries.

Defense to highlight SEA vs. CHI
In his "Week 13 Predictions" analysis, Elliot Harrison notes, "the Seattle Seahawks already travelled 3,000 miles to lose in Miami, where they had a hard time getting Marshawn Lynch going (46 yards). If they struggle in that department versus the Bears' front seven, Russell Wilson will not win it on his own." FULL WEEK 13 PREDICTIONS
Analysis: One of the best games of Week 13 will go down at Soldier Field on Sunday afternoon, and recent history suggests it could go either way. These two teams have played four times in the last three seasons, with each club winning two. With two stellar defenses, fantasy points could be hard to come by.

Bears defense looking to bounce-back vs. Ponder
In his "Week 12 Predictions" analysis, Elliot Harrison notes, "Ponder played a clean game in the Minnesota Vikings' last contest ( a Week 10 win over Detroit), but he turned the ball over nine times in the five games prior. The Vikes' young quarterback cannot give Chicago's challenged offense short fields. Not to mention, the Bears' defense has scored seven defensive touchdowns, most in the NFL" FULL WEEK 12 PREDICTIONS
Analysis: With Cutler back in the lineup, expect the Bears defense to return to form and have extra motivation after being picked apart by the 49ers.

Monday night to be battle of the backups
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Monday morning that Smith was unable to gain clearance from a neurologist, according to sources, meaning Colin Kaepernick will start against Bears backup Jason Campbell, filling in for a concussed Jay Cutler. FULL REPORT
Analysis: In what should be titled the "backup bowl," expect both of these elite defenses to take center stage on Monday night. While you probably didn't have better options, don't expect much from your fantasy players in what could be a low-scoring game.

Bears tough vs. run on the road
In his Week 11 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em analysis, Michael Fabiano notes, "the Bears have not been a good matchup for opposing runners. In fact, this unit has allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to running backs on the road (11.48 PPG)." FULL START 'EM, SIT 'EM
Analysis: Chances are you will have to start the veteran, but don't expect a great stat line given the opponent.

Foster vs. Bears defense key to game
In his "Who Has The Edge?" analysis, Daniel Jeremiah notes, "Briggs (31 years old) and Urlacher (34) have been the poster boys for this Bears defense over the last decade. They both continue to make impact plays on a weekly basis and they have been instrumental in the Bears 7-1 first half record. Against the pass, they've combined to intercept three passes and they've returned all three for touchdowns." READ: WHO HAS THE EDGE?
Analysis: Arian Foster will pose the Bears rush defense with their toughest matchup to date in what will be one of the best defensive battles to watch this week.

CJ2K faces tough test
In his Week 9 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em analysis, Michael Fabiano notes the Bears defense "has allowed just one rushing touchdown and the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs." READ: START 'EM, SIT 'EM
Analysis: Johnson has been playing well in recent weeks, and chances are you don't have the backfield depth to bench him. Just keep in mind that his totals could take a nosedive against the Bears.

In his "Tools for Victory" analysis, NFL.com's Matt Millen believes Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs will be the keys to a Chicago win over the Titans on Sunday. WATCH: TOOLS FOR VICTORY
Analysis: This unit should be considered a must-start regardless of the matchup, but facing off against the Titans 21st ranked scoring offense this week should provide one of their better performances.

Newton's prospects not bright in Week 8
In his Week 8 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em analysis, fantasy guru Michael Fabiano believes Cam Newton will face a tough test against the Bears. "Chicago's defense has allowed the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks and has held down some of the league's best, including Aaron Rodgers." FULL START 'EM, SIT 'EM
Analysis: You should not bench Newton if you are without a viable alternative. Just keep in mind that this week's matchup against the Bears at Solider Field is a terrible one.

Bears thin at LB
Brian Urlacher had hoped to be ready to play with the Chicago Bears by the start of training camp. That goal has been pushed back to Week 1 due to arthroscopic surgery being performed on the veteran linebacker's left knee less than a month before the start of the year. Urlacher's absence leaves Chicago thin at the linebacker spot with Nick Roach moving to the middle and Geno Hayes taking over on the strong side.
Analysis: Last season the Bears were the second-highest scoring fantasy defense, though it was somewhat misleading. Chicago allowed more than 4,000 passing yards to opponents, but made up for it by scoring 10 touchdowns. That could be a tough number to duplicate, especially with a suspect linebacking corps.…read more

Price traded to Chicago Bears
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded defensive tackle Brian Price to the Chicago Bears for an undisclosed draft pick on Thursday.
Analysis: Price has struggled with injuries recently, and does not warrant fantasy consideration in IDP leagues. A fresh start with the Bears could change that, but fantasy owners should not risk selecting him until he proves himself on the field.
