Tom Brady: Feels Good About Mechanics
Brady feels good about his mechanics after working with former major league pitcher Tom House this offseason, NESN.com reports. "Going into my 14th year, I have never had more confidence in how I am throwing the football," Brady noted. "I've never felt better throwing the football."
Analysis: Despite all of his success, Brady is known as a hard worker, who is always trying to stay sharp and improve his craft. Prior to working with House, he was tutored for years by the late Tom Martinez. With no known injury concerns as the 2013 season approaches, and obvious confidence in his mechanics, Brady's biggest challenge in the coming months will be adjusting to a re-tooled wideout corps that now features Danny Amendola, who essentially replaced slot machine Wes Welker, as well as the likes of rookies Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce, who are looking to make an impact on the outside. Meanwhile, veterans Julian Edelman, Donald Jones, Michael Jenkins and Lavelle Hawkins will also jostle for positioning on the team's WR depth chart.

In the wake of Brady's recent contract restructuring, his deal with the Patriots now runs for five years and $57 million, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: What's in it for the Patriots is added salary cap flexibility with which to surround Brady with talent as the team re-loads for another Super Bowl run. And while Brady's deal is considered below market value, all of it is guaranteed. In any case, it's an agreement that will keep Brady with the organization until 2017, the year he turns 40.

Tom Brady: Three-Year Extension With Pats
Brady has signed a three-year contract extension with the Patriots that runs through the 2017 season, NESN.com reports.
Analysis: The deal -- which will pay Brady a $3 million signing bonus immediately -- is reportedly worth $27 million, a modest figure for a player of his stature, but it's an agreement evidently designed to give the Patriots some valuable salary cap flexibility. For example, with the extra cash, the Patriots can perhaps either lure slot machine Wes Welker back or make a serious run at speedy wideout Mike Wallace.

Tom Brady: Removed From Pro Bowl Roster
Brady has been removed from the AFC Pro Bowl roster due to injury, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM reports.
Analysis: Brady was knocked around a few times in Sunday's AFC Championship, and it seems he's just banged up. There's been nothing to indicate it's anything serious. Andrew Luck will replace Brady in the Pro Bowl.

Brady completed 29-of-54 passes for 320 yards and a touchdown to go along with the two picks in Sunday's 28-13 loss to the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.
Analysis: Brady's two picks and Stevan Ridley's fumble were too much to overcome as the Patriots' offense was shut down completely in the second half of Sunday's game. Brady finished the regular season with 4,827 passing yards (fourth in the NFL) to go along with a tidy 34:8 TD:INT ratio and will enter the 2013 season once again as an elite fantasy option at QB.

Brady (right shoulder) returned to practice Thursday, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.

Analysis: After a sloppy start that led to a 31-3 deficit, Brady heated up and led the Patriots to 28 unanswered points to tie the game, while piling up fantasy stats for his owners, during and after the team's comeback, which eventually fell short. Next up for Brady and the Patriots are the 2-12 Jaguars, a much less daunting matchup on paper than the 49ers presented heading into this weekend.

Analysis: A dominant performance in a game that was billed as a matchup of the top two teams in the AFC. In his "All-22" analysis, Bucky Brooks notes, "Brady has compiled a 102.6 passer rating while completing 64.8 percent of his passes with 25 touchdowns against just four interceptions. "While he does have a tough matchup on paper, keep in mind that Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford and Chad Henne have all scored 20-plus fantasy points against the Houston Texans. Brady completed 4-of-7 passes for 30 yards in Thursday's preseason opener against the Saints.
Analysis: There's not much to be gleaned from Brady's preseason debut other than confirming that he is healthy enough to play. If that remains the case, then production will follow in the Patriots' prolific offense.

Tom Brady: Set to Play in Preseason Opener
Brady will play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Saints, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Brady didn't play in last season's exhibition opener, which came on the heels of the NFL lockout, but he'll be out there Thursday, though likely not for long. Assuming he's healthy, Brady remains an elite quarterback in both real and fantasy terms. His 2012 outlook is bright, as the passing offense he helms returns its key weapons (Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez and Deion Branch) as well as welcomes newcomer Brandon Lloyd, plus the duo of Jabar Gaffney and Donte Stallworth, both in their second stints with the team. The addition of Lloyd is particularly intriguing, given his ability to get open downfield and use his good hands and outstanding body control to make acrobatic catches.

Brady completed 26-of-29 passes in 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 situations during the first day of training camp practice Thursday, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Practice stats obviously don't count for much, but what can be gleaned here is that Brady is looking razor sharp after an offseason break which enabled him to heal up from the aches and pains that he accumulated over the Patriots' lengthy 2011 campaign. When we last saw Brady, he aggravated the left (non-throwing) shoulder sprain that he sustained earlier in the season in the Super Bowl, but it appears as though he's put that issue behind him. Currently, Brady is RotoWire's No. 2 ranked QB, behind only Aaron Rodgers.

Tom Brady: Aggravated Non-Throwing Shoulder in Super Bowl
Brady aggravated the left (non-throwing) shoulder sprain that he sustained earlier in the season in the third quarter of this past Sunday's Super Bowl, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: The report adds that the aggravation didn't lead to a major injury, which infers that the issue will subside with some rest and time off, which the offseason will now provide Brady.

Tom Brady: Misses Out on Fourth Title
Brady completed 27-of-41 passes for 276 yards with two touchdowns and a pick in Sunday's Super Bowl loss to the Giants.
Analysis: An intentional grounding penalty on Brady early in the game resulted in a safety for the Giants, but to his credit he bounced back and was a break or two away from his fourth Super Bowl ring. Brady finished the regular season with 5,235 passing yards, a figure that ranked second in the league in 2011, as well as all-time. His 39 TD passes (versus 12 picks) were fourth in league, all numbers indicative of his continued status as an elite QB, in both real and fantasy terms.

Brady completed 26-of-34 passes for 363 yards with six touchdowns (which equals an NFL postseason record) and an interception in Saturday's 45-10 playoff win over the Broncos.
Analysis: Coming off the Patriots' bye, Brady looked healthy, sharp and focused. The interception aside, he was able to pick apart the Broncos' defense seemingly at will. Next up for New England is the winner of the Ravens-Texans game, featuring a pair of teams that boast a strong pass defense.

Brady (left shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: The Patriots have a first-round bye, so this isn't really a big concern. In fact, those backing New England in playoff leagues ought to be more worried about the team's shaky defense than Brady's availability for next week's game against an opponent to be determined.

Brady finished the 2011 season with 5,235 passing yards, while completing 401-of-611 passes, to go along with 39 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Analysis: Brady's yardage mark was good for second in the league this season -- and all-time for that matter -- behind the Saints' Drew Brees. Obviously, fantasy owners can't complain about what Brady brought to the table in 2011, but for those looking for something to critique, it's the picks. He only threw four in his 2010 MVP campaign. Assuming he stays healthy through the playoffs, Brady will maintain his elite QB status heading into 2012 fantasy drafts.

Analysis: The win secures the No. 1 seed (and home field advantage) in the AFC for the Patriots heading into the playoffs. Brady didn't seem hampered Sunday by the left shoulder issue that cropped up this past week and he now has a round one bye to rest up his aches and pains.

Brady was officially listed as limited at Thursday's practice with a left shoulder injury, the Patriots' official site reports.
Analysis: Look for Brady to be lumped in with 15 or so of his teammates in the questionable category, come Friday. While the injury to his non-throwing shoulder is clearly worth noting, the expectation here at Brady will be able to start Sunday's 1:00 ET contest against the Bills.

Brady was listed as missing Wednesday's practice for a non-injury-related reason, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: We'll take that with a grain of salt, given that there have been reports that Brady dinged up his left (non-throwing) shoulder in Week 16. Still, the "non-injury" designation is an indicator that Brady's Week 17 status is not in danger.

Tom Brady: Left Shoulder Dinged Up
Brady (left shoulder) was not at the early portion of practice Wednesday, WEEI's Tom E. Curran reports.
Analysis: Curran adds that "Brady dinged (his) left shoulder" late in Saturday's game against Miami. Brady reportedly underwent X-Rays to check for a separation, but was later told he was "all set." Even if he wasn't all set, we doubt we'd get much detail from the Pats at this point. Either way, we'd be surprised if Brady wasn't out there in Sunday's season finale against the Bills. With 4,897 passing yards on the season, Brady actually has an outside chance of overtaking Drew Brees, who broke Dan Marino's single-season passing yardage record in Week 16. He's currently 190 yards behind Brees.

Analysis: Brady popped right up after the hit and finished the game, so this does not appear to be a major concern. In fact if it was, we doubt that Brady would have discussed the hit so openly Monday, given the Patriot Way of handling injuries.

Coach Bill Belichick did not shed any light on the reason for Brady (as well as Vince Wilfork) being listed on Thursday's practice report as limited for non-injury reasons, the Boston Globe reports. "It wasn't injury-related. We list them based on the way they are," Belichick said. "Could be personal issues, could be a family issue they need to attend to. If it's not injury-related, it's not injury-related. If he has an injury, then we list it. Do you want us to say he did practice if he didn't practice?"
Analysis: We'll see how the Patriots list Brady on Friday, but despite Belichick's predictable "it is was it is" explanation, so far there's no reason to think that Brady's Week 15 availability is in any peril.

Analysis: Brady was rattled early by constant pressure up the middle from Kansas City blitzes (even losing another fumble), but eventually calmed down after hitting Rob Gronkowski on a 52 yard touchdown strike. Brady threw for 342 yards with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Giants.
Analysis: Brady really struggled in the first half, not leading the Patriots to any points. He picked things up significantly in the second half, although he had a fumble deep in his own territory in the third quarter that led to a Giants' touchdown. His touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski on fourth down with 1:36 remaining appeared to be the game-winning score, but Eli Manning led the Giants to a touchdown with only 15 seconds left to win it. Despite the big statistical game, Brady didn't handle the Giants' pass rush all that well, and misfired on numerous throws. Even so, he put his team in a position to win the game, and nearly made enough plays in the end.
