Abraham remains in close contact with the Titans, the Titan Insider reports.
Analysis: The Titans are in need of a "situational" pass rusher, and coaches think Abraham could fit in nicely. Derrick Morgan lead the team last season in sacks with 6.5, while Abraham recorded 10 for himself with the Falcons, so Abraham clearly has something left in the tank, even as he turns 35 years-old. There has been rumors that Abraham is contemplating retirement, but the talks remain constant, proving otherwise. A deal could be completed by as early as the end of the week.

Abraham is slated to visit the Titans, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The soon-to-be 35-year-old Abraham remains unsigned after reportedly drawing interest in free agency from the Broncos, Seahawks and Patriots, but at this stage of his career, he still possesses value as a pass-rusher, having recorded 10 sacks (to go along with 35 tackles) for the Falcons in 2012.

Abraham is slated to visit the Patriots on Friday, ESPN.com reports.

Abraham is slated to visit with the Seahawks, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
Analysis: The Seahawks are looking to boost their pass rush, with Abraham, who was recently released by the Falcons, coming off a 10-sack campaign. Given that sort of production, he'd be a great fit for Seattle, at the right price.

The Falcons have released Abraham, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
Analysis: The Falcons got themselves $15.9 million under the salary cap Friday by releasing Abraham, Michael Turner and Dunta Robinson. Abraham is coming off a 10-sack season in which he also forced six fumbles, so the 34-year-old defensive end shouldn't have any trouble finding a new gig. The Falcons, meanwhile, now urgently need to bolster a pass rush that totaled 29 sacks (with Abraham on board) in 2012. Only four teams notched less.

Abraham could be released this offseason, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: With Matt Ryan and Corey Peters becoming free agents after the 2014 season, the team is already looking to shed some salary. The team could save about $6 million if they released Abraham, who has two years left on his current contract. Michael Turner seems like he would get the ax first, but the Falcons need to make sure they are able to keep Matt Ryan after next season, so don't be surprised if Abraham ends up playing somewhere else next season too.

Falcons to employ stand up rushers
Even with new defensive coordinator Mike Nolan in the fold, the Atlanta Falcons don't figure to see major changes in their scheme. But one thing that is expected to be different will be the use of ends Kroy Biermann, Lawrence Sidbury and John Abraham as stand up edge rushers in order to take advantage of their speed.
Analysis: The Falcons will need to improve upon a mediocre 33 team sacks if they're going to step up in the eyes of fantasy football GMs. With four games against Drew Brees and Cam Newton, they'll need to be able to corral quarterbacks to be anything other than a matchup-based option.

Analysis: Abraham's tackle and sack numbers were down from 2010, but he forced twice as many turnovers in 2011. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and it will be interesting to see where the 12-year veteran lands. The Falcons would likely be the favorite to retain his services, but Abraham turns 34 during the offseason and may elect to sign with a team that gives him a better chance of winning that elusive championship.
