LEAGUE DRAFT TYPE

There are three types of drafts available to choose from. Select your draft type based on what fits your league and teams best.

  • Live Online Draft

If your league wants to select a single draft date and time for all owners to participate in an interactive Live Online Draft, this is the best option. Note that owners who are unable to participate live can still pre-rank players and NFL.com will make picks based on player ranks and positional analysis.

  • Autopick Draft

If your league wants to draft teams based on NFL.com's default rankings or a manager's pre-rankings, this is the best option. Once the League Manager initiates the Autopick draft, results should be posted within one day.

  • Offline Draft

If your league conducts its own offline draft and wants to enter the results at a later date, this is the best option. The League Manager(s) will use the Offline Draft Tool in the League Manager Tool section to enter draft results.

LEAGUE SETTINGS

  • Divisions

Use no divisions (all teams will be together in one large group) or divide a league into up to 4 divisions (NFL.com Default is no divisions).

  • Weeks Per Playoff Matchup

Determine the number of weeks per playoff matchup for your custom league. Choose between 1 week (NFL.com Default), 2 weeks for all playoff matchups or 2 weeks for only the Championship week.

  • Playoffs

The Fantasy Playoffs determine a league champion. Select the weeks preferred and number of teams for your league's Fantasy Playoffs. (NFL.com Default Playoffs are in Weeks 15 and 16, with 4 Teams)

  • Teams

Include between 4-20 teams (even numbers only) in a league. (NFL.com Default is 10 teams)

  • Auction Budget

Customize the auction budget per team (NFL.com Default is 200).

  • Viewable by Public

Selecting this option will allow the public to view your league and teams, including standings and statistics. Note that the public will not be able to make any changes within the league, only view your league. (NFL.com Default is Not Viewable)

  • Undroppable List

Use the NFL.com Fantasy Can't Cut List or allow all players to be cut at any time. The NFL.com List is updated throughout the season to ensure that top NFL players are owned in all leagues. Using a Can't Cut List helps to ensure fair play amongst team owners. (NFL.com Default is to use the NFL.com Fantasy Can't Cut List)

  • Max Adds per Season

Limit the maximum number of adds each team can make per season, restricting a team's ability to use Free Agency to improve their team. For example, with a limit of 25 adds, a team owner would be unable to request additional player adds after their 25th transaction. (NFL.com Default is No Maximum Adds per Season)

  • Max Adds per Week

Limit the maximum number of adds each team can make per week, restricting a team's ability to use Free Agency to improve their team. For example, with a limit of 5 adds, a team owner would be unable to request additional player adds after their 5th transaction in the same week. The team owner would then be able to make additional adds the following week. Note that this setting does not go into effect until the start of Week 2 of the NFL Regular Season. (NFL.com Default is No Maximum Adds per Week)

  • Max Trades per Season

Limit the maximum number of trades each team can make per season, restricting a team's ability to conduct trades with other team owners. For example, with a limit of 10 trades, a team owner would be unable to conduct additional trades after their 10th trade. (NFL.com Default is No Maximum Trades per Season)

  • Trade Review Type

Choose from three Trade Review options - League Votes, League Manager Veto, or No Review. With League Votes, if more than half of your league's owners vote against an accepted trade, it will be reversed. League Manager Veto grants the league manager full responsibility to overturn unfair trades. Selecting No Review means all accepted trades will be approved without a trade review process and reflected on the next day's lineup. (NFL.com Default is League Votes by team owners)

  • Trade Reject Time

If you selected a Trade Review type of either League Votes or League Manager Veto, set Trade Reject Time to between 1-4 days. This will set a specific period of time for trades to be vetoed or voted against by the party established in the Trade Review Type setting. Note that there is no Trade Reject Time if No Review is selected for Trade Review Type above. (NFL.com Default is a Trade Reject Period of 2 Days)

  • Trade Deadline

Choose to set your league's trade deadline from three days in November or to have no trade deadline at all. If a trade deadline is selected, team owners will be unable to propose or accept trades after the specified date. With no trade deadline, trades can be proposed and accepted until your season is complete. (NFL.com Default is a Trade Deadline of 11/21/2014)

  • Waiver Period

Set your league's waiver period from 1-4 days or no waivers at all. Specifying a waiver period will freeze dropped players throughout the season for a set number of days to allow all team owners the opportunity to submit a waiver claim. (NFL.com Default is a 1 day waiver period)

  • Waiver Type

Choose from three Waiver Type options. Reset Every Tuesday to Inverse Order of Standings gives priority to teams lowest in the overall league standings each week and moves teams to the lowest waiver priority after each successful claim. With Move to Last After Claim, waivers work in a similar way, but the waiver order is not reset every week. Waivers Acquisition Budget features a bidding process for waiver claims, with a seasonal budget for each team. (NFL.com Default is Reset Every Tuesday to Inverse Order of Standings)

  • Free Agent Lock Type

If you want non-rostered players to lock each week at their individual game time, select Yes. If you never want a free agent to lock, select None. For leagues with waivers, "None" means players will only lock when dropped. For leagues with no waivers, "None" will ensure that free agents in your league will never lock. (NFL.com Default is Yes, player locks at game time)

  • Waiver Acquisition Budget

Set the seasonal budget that each team will have to bid on waiver claims throughout the season. With a successful waiver claim, a team will use the number of WAB points they bid on the claim. Once a team has used its entire budget, they can still make waiver claims with a bid of 0 points. In the case of two bids of the same value, the tiebreaker is inverse order of standings.

  • Post Draft Players

Choose from two options for undrafted players directly after your league draft. By following waiver rules, post-draft players will be placed on waivers according to your specified settings. If Free Agents, all undrafted players will immediately be made available to all teams in your league. (NFL.com Default is Follow Waiver Rules)

  • Roster Lock Type

Set roster team locks from two choices. Game Time will lock each individual player at kickoff of his individual game. First Game will lock a team's entire roster at kickoff of the first game played by a team member. (NFL.com Default is to use Game Time roster lock)

  • Start of Season

Choose the week to start your league's fantasy season. This is the week that matchups and statistics will begin for your league. (NFL.com Default is to begin your fantasy season the first full week of the NFL season following your league's draft, typically Week 1 of the NFL season)

  • Positions and Roster Size

Specify your league's starting positions and roster size, including flex position, individual defensive players and bench/reserve options. Click Enable Position Limits to set individual position minimums and maximums. (NFL.com Default is 9 starters (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR/RB, TE, K, DEF) and 6 bench).

  • Keeper Settings

Choose to enable keeper settings. Similar to how NFL teams retain players from season-to-season, a Keeper League allows each team owner to retain a set number of players anually. Note that if you are in your league's first season or post-draft, this setting designates keepers for the following year.

  • Keeper Lock Date

Set a date that all teams in your league must choose their keepers by. (With keepers turned on, the default lock date is your league's fantasy draft).

  • Standings Tiebreaker

Determine how ties in your league standings will be broken. (NFL.com Default is Head-to-Head Record)

  • Allow Matchup Ties

Choose "Yes" to allow ties to occur in weekly matchups for you league or "No" to disable ties. (NFL.com Default is "Yes")

  • Matchup Tiebreaker

Select your preferred matchup tiebreaker. Note that you may also select one of these options and use the "Edit Team Week Points" feature in the game to customize further.

  • Draft Pick Trades

Choose to allow the trading of future draft picks in your league. Select from no draft pick trades or to allow draft picks to be traded during your fantasy season only (the season is defined as starting when your league has drafted). (With keepers turned on, the default is no draft pick trading)

  • Draft Order Type

A snake draft order reverses the draft order each round, creating a balanced order that gives advantages to each team throughout the draft. A linear draft order uses the same order in each round. Note that you can fully customize your draft order after you have created your league. (NFL.com Default is a snake draft order)

  • Draft Format

Select between a standard draft or an auction draft (NFL.com Default is standard). If auction is selected, use the setting below to determine your league's auction budget. (NFL.com Default is 200)

  • Time Per Pick

Set the time limit per pick for your league's draft. The LM may also change this setting in-draft via LM tools. (NFL.com Default is a 90 second time limit per pick)

  • Nomination

Set the number of seconds each team is allowed to make an auction draft nomination. The LM may also change this setting in-draft via LM tools. (NFL.com Default is a 45 second player nomination limit)

  • Bid Time

Set the number of seconds a player is up for bid after being nominated. Note that your bid reset time will extend the overall bid period depending on the number high bids that occur within the bid reset period. (NFL.com default is a 45 second bid time)

  • Bid Reset

Set the number of seconds the auction bid clock is reset to when a new high bid is submitted. When the bid clock is under this number, a new high bid will reset the clock to the chosen time to ensure sufficient time for additional bids. The LM may also change this setting in-draft via LM tools. (NFL.com Default is a 10 second bid reset)
