Leading receiver in loss
Fitzgerald caught six of seven targets for 56 yards in Sunday's 34-7 loss to the Rams.
Analysis: The veteran receiver led the team in catches and yards on a day when the entire Cards offense struggled. It's only the second time in the last six games Fitzgerald has hauled in more than 50 yards, a decline largely due to lower volume -- he's averaged only 5.2 targets a game over that stretch, a far cry from the double-digit passes he was seeing to begin the year. That trend doesn't figure to reverse itself in Week 14 against a stingy Steelers defense.

Hits pay dirt in loss
Fitzgerald caught all five of his targets for 37 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-26 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: The Cards' passing game didn't gain a lot of real estate -- Christian Kirk led the team with only 41 receiving yards -- but Fitzgerald bolstered his production with his first TD since Week 3. The future Hall of Famer is little more than a possession receiver at age 36, but Fitzgerald continues to provide rookie quarterback Kyler Murray with a reliable target, and he's on pace for at least 80 catches for the 11th time in his career.

Racks up catches in loss
Fitzgerald secured all eight targets for 71 yards in the Cardinals' 30-27 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Analysis: Fitzgerald paced the Cardinals in receptions and checked in second to Christian Kirk in both receiving yardage and targets. The ageless veteran's yardage total was his third highest of the season, and it was Fitzgerald's most productive effort overall since Week 2. The 36-year-old's surge certainly was a welcome sight for fantasy owners, but it did come with the caveat of having occurred versus one of the worst secondaries in the league. Fitzgerald will look to replicate his efforts against the…read more

Makes four grabs in loss
Fitzgerald secured all four targets for 38 yards in the Cardinals' 28-25 loss to the 49ers on Thursday.
Analysis: Fitzgerald did all his damage within close proximity of the line of scrimmage, and he turned in his third straight sub-40-yard effort in the process. The future Hall of Famer hasn't found the end zone since Week 3, either, and his upside remains capped in an offense that emphasizes the short pass more often than not. Fitzgerald will look to improve his overall numbers against the Buccaneers' vulnerable secondary in a Week 10 matchup a week from Sunday.

Another subdued performance
Fitzgerald secured two of four targets for eight yards in the Cardinals' 31-9 loss to the Saints on Sunday.
Analysis: Fitzgerald was sort of a forgotten man with Christian Kirk making his return from an ankle injury. The veteran receiver now has less than 20 receiving yards in back-to-back games, and he's seen just seven targets combined over that last pair of contests after notching at least that many in five of the first six games of the campaign. Fitzgerald will look to make inroads against a tough 49ers defense in a Week 9 Thursday night battle.

Held to one catch in win
Fitzgerald caught one of his three targets for a 12-yard gain during Sunday's 27-21 win over the Giants.
Analysis: You'd have to go back to Week 1 of the 2014 season for the last time Fitzgerald was held to a single catch. There wasn't much going wrong Sunday, rather the Cardinals were content dinking and dunking and running the ball while their defense swarmed fellow rookie Daniel Jones. Fitzgerald has otherwise had somewhat of a renaissance with Kyler Murray throwing him passes with at least five catches in each of his first six games. He'll likely be counted on more next Sunday against a tough Saints…read more

Leads Cards in receiving
Fitzgerald caught six of eight targets for 69 yards in Sunday's 34-33 win over the Falcons.
Analysis: The yardage led all Cards on the afternoon, while Fitzgerald tied David Johnson in catches and targets. The veteran receiver remains the most reliable option Kyler Murray has, giving him a stable fantasy floor -- Fitzgerald has caught at least five passes in every game so far in 2019.

Modest numbers in win
Fitzgerald caught six of eight targets for 58 yards in Sunday's 26-23 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Fitzgerald led all Cardinals in targets once again, but his longest grab went for only 17 yards, and he failed to top 60 receiving yards for the third straight game. He remains Kyler Murray's most reliable option, but until the rookie QB becomes more consistent, Fitzgerald's fantasy utility in shallower formats largely will depend on whether he can find the end zone.

Now trails only Rice in receptions
Fitzgerald caught all five of his targets for 47 receiving yards, while passing Tony Gonzalez for second all-time in career receptions during Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: Fitzgerald is a legendary talent and ambassador of the game, having earned 11 Pro Bowl nods and a Walter Payton Man of the Year award, and he now only looks up at Jerry Rice for the most catches in NFL history. With Fitzgerald sitting at 1,326 receptions and Rice's mark at 1,549, it certainly would be a tall order for the Cardinals legend to become the all-time leader from his current age of 36 -- but it would be foolish to bet resolutely against Fitzgerald. He is back to being a fantasy…read more

Scores in loss to Carolina
Fitzgerald caught five of seven targets for 36 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: After seeing 24 targets through the first two weeks, Fitzgerald saw his volume drop in this one as Kyler Murray rarely had enough time to let plays develop before having to flee from the Panthers pass rush. The veteran receiver is still off to a fantastic start in Kliff Kingsbury's high-octane offense, catching 18 passes for 253 yards and two TDs through three games.

Goes for 104 yards in loss
Fitzgerald caught five of 11 targets for 104 yards during Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: It's a renaissance in the desert for Fitzgerald, who now has back-to-back 100-yard games for the first time since, believe it or not, Weeks 2 and 3 of 2015. More than half of Fitzgerald's Sunday yardage came on a deep shot off play action early in the third quarter in which the veteran made a sliding catch and rallied to his feet to pick up extra yardage for a gain of 54. Fitzgerald has been bogged down in recent seasons by inconsistent quarterback play. The strong start by Kyler Murray and…read more

Leads team in receiving
Fitzgerald caught eight of 13 targets for 113 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 27-27 tie with the Lions.
Analysis: Fitzgerald easily led the team in receiving yardage while also pacing it in targets and receptions. He was at his best in the biggest moments of the game, scoring his touchdown with mere seconds left in regulation and adding a crucial 45-yard reception in overtime. Fitzgerald's big game likely comes as a mild surprise to fantasy owners who were skeptical about Kyler Murray's play, but it was a notable performance nonetheless. With that said, he could struggle to replicate this production in…read more

Continues to see preseason action
Fitzgerald has recorded two catches (on four targets) for six yards through the Cardinals' first three preseason games.
Analysis: Fitzgerald got in a decent amount of reps with rookie quarterback Kyler Murray, racking up 36 offensive snaps in those contests. Although Fitzgerald's production is underwhelming, new coach Kliff Kingsbury has admitted the Cardinals have been utilizing a vanilla offense during exhibition season. Once the Air Raid is unleashed Week 1 and beyond, Fitzgerald figures to be a favorite target of Murray, but it remains to be seen if he'll remain on his perch as the clear No. 1 receiver in Arizona's…read more

Plays one possession Thursday
Fitzgerald gathered in his only target for one yard while playing the Cardinals' first possession during Thursday's preseason win versus the Chargers.
Analysis: Fitzgerald was among five Cardinals targeted by rookie quarterback Kyler Murray on a drive that ended in an Andy Lee punt. There's little question Fitzgerald will be one of Murray's favorite options in the passing attack, but as he approaches his age-36 season, it remains to be seen if he'll remain the No. 1 receiver in the offense. Fitzgerald's primary competition for looks includes second-year wideout Christian Kirk and do-it-all running back David Johnson, but a number of players will be…read more

Present for offseason workouts
Fitzgerald was active for the entire offseason program, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Aside from mandatory minicamp, every stage of the offseason program is "voluntary," whether it's the aptly named voluntary minicamp in April to OTAs that extend from May into June. As a 15-year veteran, Fitzgerald wouldn't be blamed for missing certain workouts or practices, but with a new coaching staff in place and a greenhorn signal-caller under center, he was at the Cardinals' facility from Day 1 on April 8 through the final drill June 12. It's unclear what the offense will look like under…read more

Will earn $11M in 2019
The one-year extension Fitzgerald agreed to with the Cardinals on Wednesday will include an $11 million base salary plus up to $1 million in incentives, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Though Fitzgerald finished 2018 with 69 receptions for 734 yards -- his lowest totals in both categories for any season in which he played 16 games -- the Cardinals will bring him back at the same salary he's played under each of the past three years with the expectation that his numbers will bounce back. Signal-caller Josh Rosen struggled to move the chains as a rookie, but he'll likely benefit from the tutelage of new coach Kliff Kingsbury, who oversaw consistently productive passing attacks…read more

Coming back for 2019
Fitzgerald plans to re-sign with the Cardinals on a one-year contract, Darren Urban of the team's official website reports.
Analysis: Fitzgerald will return for at least one more season to work with second-year quarterback Josh Rosen and new head coach Kliff Kingsbury. The veteran is coming off a career-low 734 yards in his age-35 campaign, though he still led Arizona in every major receiving category. Armed with cap space as well as the first pick in each round of the upcoming draft, the Cardinals surely will prioritize upgrades on their dreadful offensive line to give Rosen, Fitzgerald, David Johnson and Christian Kirk…read more

Remains undecided about 2019
Fitzgerald has yet to make a decision on his playing status for the 2019 season, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: In the previous two offseasons, Fitzgerald announced his intentions to return in February, so he seems to be following a similar schedule this time around. Although he gutted out a 16-game slate for a fourth consecutive campaign and 12th time in 15 seasons, the 35-year-old's production suffered due to hamstring and back injuries in the first half of 2018 and generally underwhelming quarterback play from the trio of Josh Rosen, Sam Bradford and Mike Glennon. Snaps four-game scoreless streak
Fitzgerald caught four of nine targets, logging 36 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 27-24 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: Fitzgerald's workload was generally consistent throughout his 15th pro campaign, as he led the Cardinals receiving corps in targets in 12 of 16 games this season. Despite a sluggish start in which he failed to exceed 80 receiving yards or record a touchdown through Week 6, Fitzgerald finished the season with a respectable 10 double-digit PPR outings. He finished as WR4 in 2017 with just two more double-digit performances than he did this season, but last year he was boosted tremendously by six…read more

Makes splash in loss
Fitzgerald brought in six of nine targets for 53 yards and also threw a 32-yard touchdown on his only pass attempt in the Cardinals' 31-9 loss to the Rams on Sunday.
Analysis: If, as rumored, this was indeed Fitzgerald's home swan song, he went out with a bang. The ageless veteran and future Hall of Famer threw his first career touchdown pass when he found David Johnson from 32 yards out on a second-quarter trick play. He also co-led the team in receptions and checked in behind only rookie Trent Sherfield in receiving yards. The 15-year veteran heads into Week 17 having eclipsed 50 receiving yards in three straight games, and he'll look to put together a strong…read more

Nabs seven passes in loss
Fitzgerald caught seven of eight targets for 82 yards during Sunday's 40-14 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: The 82 yards accounted for Fitzgerald's second-highest total this season, an illustration of how poor this offense has been during stretches. The veteran kept fighting Sunday, juking Atlanta defenders on a 16-yard catch in the game's closing moments as the Cardinals tried to put one more score on the board. Fitz seemingly doesn't have the players and coaches around him to keep Arizona's offense humming, and time has already run out on this season. Next Sunday brings a Rams defense that held…read more

Makes history against Lions
Fitzgerald caught five of nine targets for 55 yards during Sunday's 17-3 loss to Detroit.
Analysis: Fitzgerald made history Sunday, passing Hall of Fame wideout Jerry Rice for the most receptions (1,286) for any one team in NFL history. The veteran nonetheless had trouble taking advantage of a plus matchup against a weak Lions secondary. Most of his struggles are connected to the uninspiring play of rookie quarterback Josh Rosen, though. Since we shouldn't expect Rosen to pick up his play anytime soon, don't look to Fitzgerald for reliable production, either. After all, he's only topped 50…read more

Keys win with 32-yard grab
Fitzgerald caught three of six targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Packers.
Analysis: Fitzgerald was kept out of the end zone after scoring five touchdowns over the previous five weeks, but he did set up Zane Gonzalez's go-ahead field goal with 1:41 remaining by converting a third-and-23 with a 32-yard catch earlier in the drive. The entire Arizona passing game is tough to trust with flailing rookie Josh Rosen at the helm: Rosen completed 11 of 26 passes for 149 yards in this one. Finds end zone
Fitzgerald caught both of his targets for 30 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 45-10 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Fitzgerald helped his team get off to a quick start, scoring on a 25-yard touchdown reception just minutes into the game. Unfortunately, he did little after that point and watched as the Chargers rattled off 45 unanswered points to win the game. Fitzgerald has been held to 50 yards or fewer in four of his previous five games, but he's kept his fantasy value afloat with five touchdowns during that span. He'll look to continue his recent scoring binge next Sunday against the Packers.

Two touchdowns in loss to Raiders
Fitzgerald hauled in two of four targets for 23 yards, with both receptions going for touchdowns during Sunday's 23-21 loss to Oakland.
Analysis: Fitzgerald had two scores all season heading into Week 11, but he accounted for first and fourth quarter scores against Oakland's bottom-12 pass defense. Fitzgerald's four targets against the Raiders were his fewest since Oct. 7, and he's averaged 9.5 targets per game in four outings since then. Upcoming Sunday is a matchup against a Chargers defense that's held opposing wideouts to 1,477 receiving yards in 2018, sixth-fewest in the NFL.

Posts 50-plus receiving yards in two straight
Fitzgerald hauled in six of 10 targets for 50 yards during Sunday's 26-14 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: After being held out of the end zone through the first six weeks of the season, Fitzgerald has two scores over his past three outings while averaging 64 yards per game. (He averaged fewer than 36 per game through Week 6.) New offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich has had an immediate impact on Fitzgerald's involvement in the passing attack, as he has garnered 22 targets over Arizona's past two outings, compared to 6.1 targets per game when Mike McCoy was calling the shots.
