Ready to play at Washington
Hyde (hamstring) was a full participant at practice Friday and does not carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game at the Commanders.
Analysis: Hyde picked up a hamstring injury during Buffalo's win versus Las Vegas in Week 2, but he's apparently already put it past him before the Bills' matchup at Washington in Week 3. He'll resume his regular starting role at safety next to Jordan Poyer.

Still dealing with injury
Hyde (hamstring) will not practice Wednesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hyde suffered the injury in Sunday's win over the Raiders and it was reported Monday that he is expected to be day-to-day. His status for the pivotal Thursday practice is worth monitoring, as a return at least to a limited session would increase his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Commanders.

Now day-to-day
Hyde is day-to-day Monday after sustaining a hamstring injury during Sunday's 38-10 win versus the Raiders, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
Analysis: It's at least good news for the Bills that Hyde's hamstring issue doesn't seem to be too serious after he played just two games in 2022. Buffalo's injury reports this week figure to offer more insight into whether he'll be available for Week 3.

Dealing with hamstring injury
Hyde left Sunday's win over the Raiders early due to a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Hyde recorded five tackles (two solo) before exiting. The Bills were in command nearly all game long, so Hyde's departure may have been precautionary.

Full participant Friday
Hyde (back) was listed as a full participant in Friday's walk-through practice.
Analysis: Hyde had been limited with a back injury Thursday. The starting safety's return to full participation means the Bills are fully healthy ahead of Monday's season opener against the Jets, outside of players placed on injured reserve or the PUP list prior to the start of the season.

Limited at practice Thursday
Hyde (back) was a limited participant at practice Thursday ahead of Monday night's Week 1 game at the Jets, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: The issue with his back apparently just cropped up within the last few days, but it's evidently not severe enough to keep Hyde off the field entirely. It's possible Buffalo is just playing things safe with the veteran Pro Bowler, who missed 15 full regular-season games and two postseason contests in 2022 due to a neck issue. However, if the back injury proves severe enough to keep him out Week 1, it could clear a path for Damar Hamlin to start.

Not sidelined entirely
Hyde (back) appeared to participate in limited drills at Wednesday's practice, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hyde participated in team stretches and some drills before going back to the sideline. Buffalo's first official injury report of the week will be posted Thursday, but it's at least encouraging to see the starting safety on the field in some capacity. Head coach Sean McDermott said Hyde is dealing with an injury that popped up in the last couple of days, so his status will need to be monitored as Monday's game against the Jets grows closer.

Dealing with new injury
Hyde (back) won't practice Wednesday, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Hyde's injury is something that popped up in the last couple of days, according to head coach Sean McDermott. With the Bills traveling to New York for a Week 1 matchup with the Jets on Monday, the veteran safety will have an extra day to recover from the injury before Buffalo holds its first official practice of the regular season Thursday. If Hyde is unable to suit up, it could leave Damar Hamlin in a position to get a Week 1 start.

Participating in OTAs
Hyde is participating in OTAs this week after recovering from a neck injury, Nick Sabato of the Niagara Gazette reports.
Analysis: Hyde logged seven tackles (four solo) in just two games last before spending the rest of the 2022 season on injured reserve. Now healthy, the 2013 fifth-round pick will look to return to form and serve as an anchor in Buffalo's secondary once again.

Ruled out for divisional round
Hyde (neck) won't play in Sunday's divisional-round matchup against Cincinnati, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: As expected, Hyde will remain out for back-to-back games to start the postseason with a neck injury that has kept him on injured reserve since Week 2. The Bills did open his 21-day practice window ahead of wild-card weekend, but it's unclear if he'll be able to play again this season. Dean Marlowe figures to start at free safety alongside Jordan Poyer against Joe Burrow and the Bengals' terrific passing attack.

Ruled out for wild-card round
Hyde (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Dolphins, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Head coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Hyde will not be available for this weekend's game versus Miami, and he will also remain out next week if the Bills advance. The safety has been on injured reserve since late September after sustaining a neck injury, and although his 21-day practice window has been opened, there's no guarantee he will return at any point in the postseason.

Practice window activated
The Bills announced Wednesday that Hyde (neck) has been designated for a return to practice from IR.
Analysis: Hyde can be fully activated at any point within his 21-day practice window, though Adam Schefter of ESPN reports he isn't expected to play Sunday versus the Dolphins. The safety is recovering from neck surgery undergone mid-October.

Not ruling out potential return
Hyde (neck) has been working out to the side at practice with the other players on injured reserve, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hyde has yet to be officially ruled out for the remainder of the season, as general manager Brandon Beane said last week that they "haven't ruled anything out," though it is still too far out to know. The safety went down with a neck injury in late September, which he underwent surgery for in mid-October. Hyde's status is worth monitoring moving forward, though he still remains a bit of a longshot to come back this year.

Plans to continue career
Hyde, who suffered a season-ending neck injury in Week 2, is back with the team and has been advising fellow players following successful surgery, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: While Hyde has been ruled out for the 2022 season, he stated that he plans to resume his career in 2023 following the scary injury. The top-ranked Buffalo defense has held up well without such a key player, but there are very few tandems who can top Buffalo's safety duo of Hyde and Jordan Poyer, so the team will be better off with Hyde back in the mix next season, assuming his rehab goes smooth.

Undergoes successful surgery
Hyde (neck) recently underwent successful surgery to repair a herniated disc and is facing a 6-to-9-month recovery timeline, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After being placed on injured reserve Sept. 24, Hyde will miss the remainder of the season while he recovers from surgery, which is expected to stabilize his neck moving forward. The 31-year-old will likely be available for most of next year's training camp, if not all of it, barring any setbacks. In his absence, Damar Hamlin will continue to operate as the Bills' starting free safety.

Officially on IR
Buffalo placed Hyde (neck) on its injured reserve list Saturday.
Analysis: Hyde is expected to miss the remainder of the 2022 season with a neck injury he sustained in Week 2, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. At the very least, he'll now be required to miss at least the next four weeks. With the Bills' other starting safety, Jordan Poyer (foot), now also dealing with an injury, safeties Jaquan Johnson and Damar Hamlin will be asked to take a major step up moving forward.

Expected to miss season
Hyde's agent announcement Saturday that the Bills will place Hyde (neck) on injured reserve and noted that the safety is on track to miss the rest of the 2022 season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The Bills have yet to confirm that Hyde is shut down for the season, but his expected absence is a major blow to the Buffalo secondary. Hyde and teammate Jordan Poyer (foot) -- who is questionable for Sunday's game in Miami -- are one of the league's best safety tandems, and Hyde is quarterback what's been an excellent defense. Ruled out for Week 3
Hyde (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Miami, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Hyde didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out. Jordan Poyer (foot) also could end up sitting out Week 3 after missing Thursday's practice, so Jaquan Johnson and Damar Hamlin are both on deck for increased roles against Miami's new-look passing attack that diced up Baltimore's secondary Week 2.

Still not practicing Thursday
Hyde (neck) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Hyde has missed consecutive practices to begin the week, which doesn't bode well for his potential availability Sunday against the Dolphins. Misses Wednesday's session
Hyde did not practice Wednesday due to a neck injury, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: Hyde left Monday's win over the Titans early with the injury, but the game was a blowout and the Bills ended up sitting out a number key players, injured and healthy, late in the contest. Hyde's issue does appear serious enough that it's a concern ahead of Sunday's big divisional tilt against the 2-0 Dolphins, though he still has two more practice sessions to prove it's not going to keep him out of any games.

Leaves Monday's contest
Hyde left Monday night's game against the Titans due to a neck injury, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: The Bills are blowing out the Titans, but it's going to come with a cost, as a handful of key players have suffered injuries throughout the night. Even if Hyde's injury is minor, there's almost no chance he'll be returning to such a lopsided game. Hyde's status for the Week 3 divisional battle in Miami is of greater importance for the team.

Moves past minor injury
Hyde suited up for practice Monday after sitting out Saturday's session with a hip injury, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The Bills have a loaded secondary and one of the league's better defenses, but it's the safety tandem of Hyde and Jordan Poyer that makes the engine run, and replacing either at any point in 2022 would be a tricky proposition. It looks like the team dodged a bullet, as Hyde's injury appears to be quickly behind him.

Coach Sean McDermott said Saturday that Hyde (hip) is day-to-day, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hyde is watching Saturday's training camp session from the side after having been carted to the locker room due to an apparent hip injury Friday. Hyde went down with an apparent injury at practice Friday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. Per Getzenberg, the injury is to Hyde's hip or glute, but its severity has yet to be determined.

Big game in big win
Hyde posted six tackles and two interceptions in Sunday's win over the Patriots.

Hyde posted one tackle, one pass deflection and one interception during Sunday's 40-0 win over the Texans.

Hyde (quadriceps) was a full participant at Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Hyde was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice due to the quad injury, but it appears to be a minor issue since he's back in full a day later. The 30-year-old has 18 tackles (13 solo), a sack and an interception through the first three games of 2021.

Limited to start week
Hyde was listed as limited for Wednesday's practice due to a quad issue.
Analysis: The Buffalo secondary is a strongpoint for what's been a fantastic defense to date, but there are some issues right now with one starting safety (Jordan Poyer-ankle) not practicing and the other (Hyde) limited. Given that he was able to able to practice to some degree, Hyde would seem to have a good shot at playing Sunday against the Texans.

Hyde (neck) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against Washington.
Analysis: Hyde upgraded to full participation in practice Friday following a pair of limited sessions to open the week, and the Bills saw enough from him Friday to remove his name from the injury report. The veteran safety is off to a strong start, with 13 tackles, a sack and a pass defensed through two games.

Limited to start practice week
Hyde was listed as limited for Wednesday's practice due to a neck injury.

First sack since 2016
Hyde registered seven tackles (four solo) and a sack in Sunday's 35-0 win over the Dolphins.
Analysis: This was Hyde's first sack since the 2016 season when he was in Green Bay. He has put up 13 tackles through the first two weeks, but he doesn't hold much IDP upside after posting just 70 stops in 2020.

Neck injury surfaces
Hyde was limited Thursday due to a neck injury.
Analysis: Hyde practiced fully Wednesday and was at least able to do some of the work Thursday, so unless he hurt himself at the tail end of Thursday's practice we're not too worried about his status for Sunday's game in Miami. Returns to team
Hyde has returned to the Bills after tending to a personal matter, and he's expected to suit up for Sunday's season opener against the Steelers, Dante Lasting of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: Hyde was also voted a captain by his teammates, and the veteran safety intends to lead by example on the field. He has reached the 70-tackle mark in three of his previous four seasons in Buffalo after recording no more than 60 tackles in any of his four years with Green Bay.

Away from team
Hyde has missed practice the past two days due to a personal matter, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: The timing of Hyde's absence, while not ideal, isn't crippling, given the extra week this season between the final preseason game and Week 1. There's been no indication Hyde will be away from the team longer than a few days, so for now we're assuming he'll be manning his starting safety spot against the Steelers on Sept. 12.

Analysis: Hyde will be in Buffalo for an additional two years after spending the past four strong seasons with the team. During his 2020 campaign, the safety posted 70 tackles (48 solo), one interception and five pass breakups. Hyde will continue to start at safety in the upcoming year with the team, as he and Jordan Poyer make up one of the NFL's better tandems.

Ready for Week 10
Hyde (ankle) is active for Sunday's game in Arizona.
Analysis: This is a nice development for the Bills considering Hyde couldn't even practice Friday after being limited Thursday. With the Buffalo secondary being depleted due to some COVID-19 related inactives, having a regular like Hyde in the lineup should go a long way.

Officially questionable
Hyde (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Hyde appeared on Thursday's injury report as a limited participant before being held out of Friday's practice entirely. The veteran safety normally handles an every-down gig in Buffalo's secondary, so it's possible that maintenance has played a role in his lack of practice activity, but it looks like a decision on his Week 10 status may not come until inactives are released prior to Sunday's 4:05 P.M. Hyde was a new addition to the injury report Thursday, as he's listed as limited due to an ankle injury.

Coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Hyde has cleared the league's concussion protocol, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hyde was a full participant in Thursday's practice, so it looks like he's all set to slot into his usual starting role at safety during Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Hyde (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Hyde's full practice doesn't necessarily guarantee that he's cleared the concussion protocol, but at the very least he's making significant progress. If he's able to gain full medical clearance in time for Sunday's game against Seattle, Hyde stands to draw his usual start at safety.

Still working through protocol
Hyde, who missed the Week 8 contest against the Patriots due to a concussion, was able to practice on a limited basis Wednesday.
Analysis: That puts Hyde in better position to play Sunday against the Seahawks. Hyde and Jordan Poyer form one of the league's better safety tandems, and it's going to take quite an effort to slow down Russell Wilson and the Seahawks in Week 9. We'll see if Hyde can ramp up his practice participation to a full level by Friday.

Out for Week 8
Hyde (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: Hyde obviously could not clear the concussion protocol in time, while Dean Marlowe and Jaquan Johnson will now see more work against New England. The Bills also have a few hybrid types who can help backfill Hyde's normal duties, though, to be clear, his loss is a notable one for a Buffalo defense that's already struggled at times in 2020.

Questionable for Sunday
Hyde (concussion) did not practice for the third straight day Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Hyde (ankle) does not have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Las Vegas.
Analysis: Hyde put forth a 'DNP/LP/FP' practice slate this week, and it looks as though he's trending in the right direction to play his usual every-down role in Las Vegas. With back-to-back nine tackle games under his belt, Hyde could be a solid option in IDP formats.

Hyde (ankle) practiced on a limited basis Thursday after missing Wednesday's session.
Analysis: The starting free safety is trending in the right direction after missing some important action during the Week 3 win over the Rams. Hyde (ankle) isn't practicing Wednesday.
Analysis: Hyde left this past Sunday's wild win over the Rams due to this ankle injury, and it's keeping him out of practice to open the week. If Hyde's unable to heal up in time for Sunday's trip to Las Vegas, the safety's absence would be a major hit to the Bills' secondary given how poorly Buffalo's defense played in the second half against Los Angeles.

Lethal combo with Poyer
Hyde registered 72 tackles, two passes defensed, one interception, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 16 regular-season games in 2019.
Analysis: Hyde may actually be better in real life than in fantasy, as he seldom gets beat for a deep play and works with teammate Jordan Poyer to regularly out-scheme the opponent -- the two often switch up coverage based on what they see at the line of scrimmage. Analysis: Hyde notched his highest single-game tackle total of the season versus Washington's run-happy offense. The starting free safety normally has capped IDP value due to lacking tackle volume, but he's averaged seven stops per game since Buffalo's bye in Week 6.
