Analysis: The game was a tight defensive battle until the fourth quarter, when Smith broke open a 13-13 tie with a 33-yard TD strike to Tyler Lockett. The veteran QB has tossed multiple touchdowns in six of eight games so far this season en route to a sharp 13:3 TD:INT, but in Week 9 he faces a Cardinals secondary that kept him out of the end zone entirely in their first meeting.

Analysis: He also gained seven yards on four carries. The quarterback lost one of his main targets in the first quarter after DK Metcalf suffered a knee injury, but Smith didn't skip a beat and instead just hit Marquise Goodwin for the journeyman wideout's first two TDs of the year. Smith completed 20 of 31 passes for 197 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 19-9 win over Arizona.

Analysis: Smith helped the Seahawks to victory, though he was unable to continue his extremely efficient performances. After averaging 10.7 yards per attempt in each of his last two games, Smith managed a mark of just 6.4 yards per attempt against Arizona. He also failed to throw for a touchdown for the second time this season, resulting in a disappointing performance. Smith should be in a positive game environment to rebound in a Week 8 matchup against the Chargers.

Stays hot in loss

Smith completed 16 of 25 passes for 268 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 39-32 loss to the Saints.

Analysis: Smith attempted a season-low 25 pass attempts, though that was largely because he helped Seattle's offense score so efficiently. He shredded the Saints' secondary for long touchdowns of 50, 40 and 35 yards to keep his team in the game in a high-scoring affair. Analysis: Per Condotta, Smith's one-year deal with Seattle carries a base value in the $4 million range, plus incentives. Now that he's back in the fold, Smith bolsters a QB group that also currently includes Drew Lock and Jacob Eason. It's still possible that the Seahawks could add a veteran option such as Baker Mayfield or draft a signal-caller later this month, but for now Smith figures to have a chance to compete for the vacated starting spot created by the offseason trade of Russell Wilson.

Arrested on suspicion of DUI

Smith was arrested Monday in King County, Wash. on suspicion of DUI, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. "Geno is fully cooperative with the investigation. I hope that an open mind can be kept by all as the facts are ascertained," Smith's attorney Jon Fox said in a statement regarding the incident.

Analysis: Smith was arrested at 2:10 a.m. local time and released from a King County correctional facility at 9:27 a.m. on his personal recognizance. Analysis: In his third consecutive start, Smith notched his first win since the 2017 season when he was playing for the Jets, and he completed 83 percent of his passes with 8.1 yards per attempt in the process. This was easily Smith's best showing of the season, as he totaled 376 passing yards and two touchdowns over his previous two starts. It's still unclear whether Russell Wilson (finger) will return after the bye week for a Week 10 matchup against the Packers.

Unable to get offense going

Smith completed 12 of 22 pass attempts for 167 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 13-10 loss to the Saints.
