Let go by Tennessee
The Titans released Santos on Monday.
Analysis: Santos missed all four of his field-goal tries during Sunday's loss to the Bills, and the disastrous day ultimately cost the veteran his roster spot. With Ryan Succop (knee) not eligible to return until Week 8, expect the Titans to sign an interim kicker in the near future.

Costly misses
Santos missed all four of his field-goal attempts in Week 5 against Buffalo. He did convert his lone extra-point attempt.
Analysis: Santos had a disastrous day and cost the Titans a chance at victory. Two of his kicks came from 50 and 53 yards, making them a bit more excusable. On the other hand, he also missed a 36-yard attempt and had another 33-yard effort blocked. Overall, it was a disastrous day for Santos, who may now be on the hot seat while filling in for the injured Ryan Succop (knee).

Hits 45-yard attempt
Santos made his lone field-goal attempt and made all three of his extra-point tries in Week 4 against Atlanta.
Analysis: Santos connected on a 45-yard field goal with 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter to put the Titans up 17-7. He's now 3-for-4 on attempts from 40 or more yards away and also remains perfect on extra-point tries. While he missed a costly kick in Week 2 against the Colts, Santos has otherwise performed admirably in Ryan Succop's (knee) absence.

Logs one point
Santos made his lone extra-point try but did not attempt a field goal in Week 3's 20-7 loss to the Jaguars.
Analysis: Santos has converted 11 of 12 kicks for the Titans through three games, but has seen his point total decline each week. He'll hope the offense can give him more scoring opportunities against the Falcons this Sunday.

Misses first field goal
Santos made of one of his two field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point attempts in Week 2 against Indianapolis.
Analysis: While Santos made the majority of his kicks on the day, his missed field goal was very costly. With 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, he was called upon to convert a 45-yard field goal to put the Titans up seven, however, he pushed the kick wide left -- ultimately allowing Indianapolis to take the lead late in the game. Nevertheless, he's made three of his four field-goal attempts for the season and is perfect in converting seven extra points.

Fills in capably
Santos was perfect in his team debut, connecting on two field-goal attempts as well as all five of his extra-point attempts.
Analysis: Santos made his team-debut after Ryan Succop (knee) was forced to injured reserve late in the preseason. He quickly made a good impression, drilling field goals from 37 and 53 yards out while the game was still competitive. Given the performance, he should continue to serve as the team's kicker in Week 2 against the Colts.

Replacing injured Succop
Santos agreed to a contract Wednesday with the Titans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Santos didn't take long to find work elsewhere after he lost a preseason kicking battle to Matt Gay in Tampa Bay. The 27-year-old now takes over in Tennessee for Ryan Succop (knee), who will be placed on injured reserve. Succop averaged just 26.8 field-goal attempts and 32.5 point-after tries over the past five seasons, despite playing 16 games each year. Apart from 2016, the Titans offense has been league-average or worse for the past decade.

Cut by Tampa Bay
Santos was released by the Buccaneers on Saturday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Santos lost the kicking battle to Matt Gay in Tampa Bay. Santos has bounced around the past few seasons, kicking for four teams the past two seasons. He's 18-for-23 on field goals and 36-for-37 on extra-point attempts over that span. He may get a look from teams that have kicking troubles or injuries to the position during the year.

Single kick attempt in finale
Santos converted his only kick attempt, an extra-point try, in the Buccaneers' 17-15 preseason win over the Cowboys on Thursday.
Analysis: Santos once again missed out on showing what he could do on a long field-goal attempt, closing out his competition with rookie Matt Gay with a whimper by only having a chance to try a 23-yard field goal and Thursday's extra-point try over the last two exhibitions. Gay seems like a virtual lock for a roster spot following his excellent summer, although Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports that at one point it was believed the Buccaneers might opt to keep both Santos and Gay on the initial 53-man…read more

Makes most of opportunities
Santos drilled a 23-yard field goal, his only kick attempt, in the Buccaneers' 13-12 preseason win over the Browns on Friday.
Analysis: Santos was solely limited to a 23-yard field-goal try for the second straight exhibition, and as he did versus the Dolphins in the second preseason game, he was successful on the kick. The veteran did see Matt Gay make a game-winning attempt for the second consecutive week as well, and the rookie appears to have a slight edge in their heated job battle based on the opportunities he's been afforded. Santos will presumably have one more chance to make his case in Thursday's exhibition finale…read more

To get first long attempt Friday
Santos, who's seen rookie Matt Gay take the first two 40-yard-plus field-goal attempts of preseason, will get the first long attempt in Friday's preseason game against the Browns, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Santos is in a curious position this preseason, as he's done nothing to lose his inherent advantage as the incumbent kicker yet is nevertheless perceived to now be the underdog to rookie Matt Gay. The veteran is still considered to be a legitimate contender for the kicking job in the eyes of coach Bruce Arians, but Santos likely has a particularly small margin for error at this point thanks to Gay's impressive head start.

Successful on only field-goal try
Santos made his sole field-goal attempt, a 23-yarder, in the Buccaneers' 16-14 preseason win over the Dolphins on Friday. He did not attempt an extra point.
Analysis: To his credit, Santos nailed his chip-shot try, and he's enjoyed a solid summer all the way around. However, to the veteran's chagrin, rookie Matt Gay has been every bit as good, arguably has a stronger leg, and nailed a 48-yard attempt to win the game Friday. Santos is increasingly looking like a potential tough-luck loser of the heated job battle, but he should get at least one more opportunity to make his case in next Friday's exhibition against the Browns.

Excelling early in camp
Santos was 9-for-9 with a 57-yard field goal in Sunday's camp practice, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Santos' perfect day comes on the heels of a near flawless one Friday, when he nailed all but a 55-yard attempt at the end of practice. Rookie fifth-round pick Matt Gay kept the pressure on Santos with a 10-for-10 performance of his own Saturday, and the two kickers figure to continue alternating kicking days in training camp and field-goal/extra-point opportunities in preseason games.

Remains in Tampa
Santos will re-sign with the Buccaneers, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Santos played in nine games between the Buccaneers and Rams in 2018, converting 14 of 18 field goals and five of six extra points. He could have light competition during the offseason and training camp from Danish kicker Phillip Andersen, who last played in the German Football League. Nevertheless, the job belongs to Santos unless he loses it.

Perfect in finale
Santos was successful on field-goal attempts of 36 and 45 yards and also drilled both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-32 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Santos proved to be the cure for what ailed the Buccaneers' kicking game after his Week 11 arrival, making nine of 12 field-goal attempts and all 17 of his extra-point tries across seven games. The 27-year-old now heads into unrestricted free agency, but he would presumably be a strong candidate for return, given Tampa's difficulty in finding stability at the kicking position during general manager Jason Licht's tenure. If Santos does indeed don a Bucs uniform again in 2019, he'll make for a…read more

Solid afternoon in defeat
Santos made field-goal attempts of 37 and 45 yards while misfiring on a 52-yard try in the Buccaneers 27-20 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday. He also drilled both of his extra-point attempts.
Analysis: The 27-year-old's one miss was relatively excusable considering the distance, and Santos had a solid eight-point afternoon overall by making his other four kicks. The five-year veteran is 7-for-10 on field goals and has drilled all 15 of his extra points since joining the Bucs in Week 11. He'll be a serviceable fantasy option once again in the Week 17 finale against the Falcons and likely has done enough to be considered as a leading candidate for the placekicking role in 2019.

Regains confidence in Week 15 loss
Santos made field-goal attempts of 21 and 28 yards and did not have any extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 20-12 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
Analysis: Santos had likely prompted at least some concern after missing two field goals in Week 14, but he alleviated those worries to an extent by drilling two makeable tries Sunday. He was shut out of the extra-point category, however, as the Bucs opted to go for two after their lone touchdown of the day. The weather conditions and defensive matchup should both be at least slightly more favorable in a Week 16 matchup versus the Cowboys, which should afford Santos an uptick in scoring opportunities.

First stumbles in new uniform
Santos missed field-goal attempts of 46 and 40 yards while hitting both of his extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 28-14 loss to the Saints on Sunday.
Analysis: Santos had enjoyed a perfect first two games in a Buccaneers uniform heading into Sunday, but his unblemished record was sullied fairly early on against the Saints. Santos' early-second-quarter 46-yard attempt hit the right upright, while his 40-yard try to end Tampa's first drive of the second half went wide right altogether. The veteran kicker at least did maintain his perfect tally on extra points, but given the team's struggles to find consistency at the kicker position in recent seasons,…read more

Keeps rolling in Week 13 win
Santos drilled his sole field-goal attempt from 35 yards and also connected on all three extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 24-17 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Santos continued his flawless streak to open his Buccaneers career, as he's now 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 11-for-11 on extra-point tries over his first three games in Tampa. Granted, the 27-year-old has yet to be tested from distance, as the longest of Santos' three field-goal attempts has come from just 41 yards. Nevertheless, the stability he's brought to the position since taking over for Chandler Catanzaro has been noticeable, and he should continue enjoying a fair share of scoring…read more

Keeps ledger flawless in win
Santos nailed field-goal attempts of 41 and 39 yards as well as both of his extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 27-9 win over the 49ers on Sunday.
Analysis: So far so good for Santos in a Tampa uniform, as he made good on his pair of field-goal tries with the Bucs while also remaining perfect on extra points. If the veteran can maintain a similar caliber of performance moving forward, he'll be one of the better fantasy options at his position down the season's stretch run.

Perfect in team debut
Santos did not attempt any field goals and was perfect on all five extra-point attempts in the Buccaneers' 38-35 loss to the Giants on Sunday.
Analysis: Santos maximized his opportunities, drilling every extra-point try he was afforded. The veteran kicker has the talent to stabilize the team's placekicking position, considering he brought a respectable 84.1 percent career success rate into Tampa. He'll look to log his first field-goal opportunities in a Week 12 matchup versus the 49ers.

Inks deal with Buccaneers
The Buccaneers signed Santos to a contract Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The front office decided to move on after previous placekicker Chandler Catanzaro missed two field goals during Sunday's 16-3 loss to the Redskins. Since serving as the Chiefs' primary kicker from 2014 through 2016, Santos has made just seven appearances between the Chiefs, Bears and Rams the last two seasons, primarily due to spending most of 2017 on injured reserve. Still, in those outings, he nailed nine of 11 field-goal attempts and 19 of 20 point-after tries, which equates to 6.6 points…read more
