Minimal production in backup role
Brown rushed 18 times for 81 yards and a touchdown and added five catches for 37 yards during the 2022 season.
Analysis: The eight-year veteran spent most of the season bouncing on and off the practice squad, and his 81 rushing yards marked his lowest season-long tally since the 2016 campaign. Brown will be an unrestricted free agent heading into 2023, and with Cam Akers, Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers all likely returning to the Rams next season, Brown may be looking for a new home to provide veteran depth.

Scores first touchdown of season
Brown rushed once for 23 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Brown's lone touch of the game was an up the gut rush on third down, and the veteran back went untouched as he scampered his way to the end zone for the Rams' only touchdown of the game. Despite the score, Brown's usage remained limited at just eight offensive snaps, and with Cam Akers continuing his late season resurgence with another eye-popping stat line (19-123-0), there's little reason to think Brown will get an extended look in the season finale against the Seahawks.

Breaks off long run in win
Brown rushed twice for 19 yards and caught his only target for two yards during Sunday's 51-14 victory against the Broncos.
Analysis: Brown saw the field for just six snaps on offense, but he made the most of his scant usage by breaking off a 17-yard run early in the fourth quarter, helping to set up Cam Akers for his third and final touchdown of the game. Brown is still third on the depth chart behind Akers and rookie Kyren Williams, and the veteran is unlikely to jump either player as the Rams try to see what they have in their younger backs in the final two games of a lost season.

Signed to active roster
Brown was signed to the active roster Saturday.
Analysis: Brown has appeared in six different games with the Rams this season and so far has carried the ball 15 times for 39 yards and has caught all four of his targets for 35 yards. Brown will be the third option in the run game, as Cam Akers and Kyren Williams should be expected to handle the majority of the carries.

Returns to practice squad
Brown reverted to the Rams' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: Brown was elevated from the practice squad for Thursday's 17-16 win over the Raiders. He was on the field for eight offensive snaps and managed three total touches for 17 yards. If Brown is elevated again, he'll work behind both Cam Akers and Kyren Williams.

Limited usage in win
Brown rushed once for five yards and secured both of his targets for 12 yards during Thursday's 17-16 win against the Raiders.
Analysis: Brown actually logged a season-high 18 snaps on offense, one shy of Kyren Williams, but other than a nine-yard snag on the Rams' game-winning drive, the veteran running back was an afterthought in the offensive game plan. Despite a plus matchup with Green Bay up next in Week 15, Brown's prospects still look dim barring an injury to Cam Akers or Williams.

Activated for TNF
The Rams elevated Brown from the practice squad ahead of Thursday's game versus the Raiders.
Analysis: Brown will be bumped up to the active roster for the second game in a row after playing all eight of his snaps on special teams Week 13 against Seattle. The 29-year-old previously logged 14 rushes for 34 yards while filling in on the team's depleted running back corps over three games in late October to early November. However, with Cam Akers, Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers now all available, it's likely Brown will once again exclusively slot in on special teams if he does see the field Week…read more

Heads back to practice squad
Brown reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transactions log.
Analysis: Brown never saw the field on offense in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. However, he did contribute eight snaps on special teams. It was his sixth appearance of the season, and considering the Rams have three healthy running backs on the active roster, it's unclear whether he may be elevated again for Week 14 against the Raiders.

Gets elevation for Week 13
The Rams elevated Brown from their practice squad to the active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus the Seahawks.
Analysis: With the addition of Brown, the Rams will carry four running backs into their Week 13 matchup versus Seattle. He has 57 yards on 16 touches through five games in 2022, and he'll probably be part of an ugly committee for fantasy purposes Sunday.

Re-signed to practice squad
The Rams signed Brown (hamstring) to their practice squad Monday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Brown was waived by the Rams ahead of Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Cardinals, as he popped up with a hamstring injury during practice Wednesday. However, the 29-year-old was likely to see decreased playing time moving forward anyhow after rookie running back Kyren Williams was activated from IR on Saturday. Brown was previously elevated from Los Angeles' practice squad for the team's Week 3 loss to San Francisco, and he'll be eligible for two more such activations moving forward this season.

Leaving L.A.
The Rams waived Brown (hamstring) Saturday.
Analysis: With rookie fifth-rounder Kyren Williams finally active and back in the fold, the Rams saw fit to send Brown to waivers ahead of Week 10. Unless he's claimed by another team during the current waiver period, Brown is set to become an unrestricted free agent.

Won't play Week 10
Brown (hamstring) is listed as out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Brown's absence this weekend eliminates some of the clutter from the Rams backfield, which already includes Darrell Henderson, Cam Akers and rookie Kyren Williams (ankle), who is expected to return from injured reserve to make his first appearance since Week 1 on Sunday. Though Brown has been a core special-teams contributor for the Rams when available this season, his already scarce opportunities out of the backfield could become even more limited moving forward now that Williams is in line to…read more

Still not practicing
Brown (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: With no practice yet under his belt this week due to a hamstring issue, Brown isn't in a great spot as the Rams prepare for Sunday's divisional matchup with the Cardinals. His status may clear up on Friday's injury report, but if Brown is limited or out this weekend, Darrell Henderson and Cam Akers will be L.A.'s running back duo for Week 10. Meanwhile, Kyren Williams (ankle) could be activated from injured reserve, and Ronnie Rivers is a candidate to be elevated from the practice squad.

Misses practice
Brown missed Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Brown played between 22 and 28 percent of the offensive snaps in each of the Rams' past three games, totaling 14 carries for 34 yards and two catches for 23 yards. His limited role may not last, given that he's now dealing with a hamstring injury along with the fact that rookie running back Kyren Williams (ankle) may be ready to come off injured reserve for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Diminished role Sunday
Brown rushed twice for nine yards and caught his lone target for 10 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Brown's usage with the Rams has trended downward in recent weeks, and he saw the field for only 16 snaps on offense while sharing backup duties with the returning Cam Akers. Despite fellow running back Ronnie Rivers not seeing a snap on offense, Brown's prospects are likely dimming with Kyren Williams (ankle) also close to a return, adding yet another mouth to feed at what has been an ineffective Rams running back stable through the first half of the season.

Five carries in loss
Brown carried the ball five times for 10 yards in Sunday's 31-14 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: Brown saw his role diminish a little in Week 8, as he played only 11 offensive snaps in the contest. Ronnie Rivers absorbed some of the extra backfield touches, rushing the ball a team-high eight times while playing 21 snaps in the loss. It's possible that Brown has been supplanted by Rivers as the top option behind Darrell Henderson at running back while Kyren Williams (ankle) could completely knock Brown out of the rotation when he returns.

Eight touches Sunday
Brown carried the ball seven times for 15 yards and caught his only target for 13 yards in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Cam Akers (personal) may have played his last game for the Rams, so Brown reclaimed his role as the team's No. 2 running back behind Darrell Henderson and saw his first touches of the season. The veteran back doesn't have much upside however, and his modest workload could be threatened after the Rams' Week 7 bye if rookie Kyren Williams (ankle) is ready to come off injured reserve.

Signed to active roster
The Rams signed Brown off their practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Analysis: Brown was elevated to the Rams' active roster for the team's loss to the 49ers and made his 2022 season debut, totaling seven snaps (two offensive). As long as Kyren Williams (ankle) remains on IR, Brown is expected to serve as depth behind Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson and Jake Funk, but barring an injury to one of those backs, Brown doesn't figure to get many opportunities on offense.

Back to practice squad
Brown reverted to the Rams' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: Brown made his first appearance of the 2022 season, but he totaled just seven snaps (two offensive) and didn't record any counting stats. He'll be a potential elevation candidate as long as Kyren Williams (ankle) remains on IR, but barring an injury to Cam Akers or Darrell Henderson, Brown isn't expected to garner a major offensive role for the Rams this season.

Brown was elevated to the Rams' active roster ahead of Monday's game with the 49ers.
Analysis: Brown joined the team's practice squad Sept. 22 and this will be his first game action since re-joining the Rams. With Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson and Jake Funk all healthy, it's unclear what role to expect Brown to play Monday against the 49ers.

Cut loose by Saints
The Saints released Brown on Wednesday, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: It's probably not a great sign for his NFL future that he was released before the start of the preseason, though Brown at least seems to have recovered from the season-ending quadriceps injury he suffered with the Dolphins last fall. He turned 29 years old in May and has never offered much besides size and special teams value.

Past quad injury
Brown has rotated in along with fellow running backs Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram during training camp, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Brown thus appears past the quadriceps injury that slowed him last season while with the Dolphins. Now that he's with the Saints, the 29-year-old will look to carve out a depth role in the team's backfield, which is led by Kamara and also rosters Ingram, Tony Jones, Abram Smith, Dwayne Washington and Devine Ozigbo. Signs with New Orleans
Brown (quadriceps) signed with the Saints on Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Brown landed on Miami's IR with a quadriceps injury in October of 2021 and consequently missed the rest of the campaign. He saw five rush attempts per game through Week 6 with the Dolphins after managing more than 100 totes with the Rams in 2020. It's possible he could see meaningful carries if top back Alvin Kamara misses time down the road as expected due to a suspension. Also currently in New Orleans' backfield mix are Mark Ingram, Tony Jones, Dwayne Washington, Devine Ozigbo and Abram Smith.

Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said Wednesday that Brown (quadriceps) won't be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's season finale against the Patriots, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Analysis: Brown was designated to return from IR in mid-December, but his 2021 season will come to an end without him making another appearance. Through seven games prior to suffering his quad injury, Brown handled 33 carries for 125 yards and a score. He also secured three of five targets for 10 yards.

The veteran running back hasn't played since Week 7 due to a lingering quad injury. Could make Week 15 return
The Dolphins anticipate Brown (quadriceps) will resume practicing this week, and he could be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Before suffering the quad injury Week 7 and landing on IR, Brown had been a secondary member of a Miami backfield committee headlined by Myles Gaskin. In seven appearances, Brown averaged 5.1 touches and 19.3 yards from scrimmage per game, but he could be headed for his largest workload of the season if he's activated from IR for Week 15. Analysis: Brown remains on injured reserve and hasn't yet recovered from the quad injury that he sustained Week 7. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, but the Dolphins may revisit where he stands in the rehab process when the team returns from its Week 14 bye.

Still not ready to practice
Coach Brian Flores said Friday that Brown (quadriceps) will not be ready to resume practicing Week 13, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: The Dolphins will go on bye after Sunday's game against the Giants, so Brown's next opportunity to play will come Week 15. With Phillip Lindsay (ankle) having joined Miami's running back room, the team doesn't have any real incentive to rush Brown back on the field until he's fully healthy.

Unlikely to return Week 12
Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said that Brown (quadriceps) won't be designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Brown hasn't played since Week 7 due to a hamstring injury, and the Dolphins' unwilling to clear him to practice at the start of Week 12 prep signals that he'll remain out Sunday against Carolina. Flores said that all of Brown, Will Fuller (finger) and DeVante Parker (shoulder) are all at the very least getting closer to a return, but for now, the running back will likely have to set his sights on making his next appearance Dec. 5 against the Giants.

Won't return in Week 11
Brown (quadriceps) won't be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Goes on IR
Brown (quadriceps) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Analysis: As expected, Brown will head to IR and miss the Dolphins' next three games after sustaining a quad injury in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Falcons. With Brown out of the mix, Miami is left with Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed as its lone healthy running backs. Expect the Dolphins to elevate at least one of Patrick Laird, Duke Johnson or Gerrid Doaks from the practice squad ahead of the team's Week 8 game in Buffalo to provide a third option behind Gaskin and Ahmed.

Expected to land on IR
Brown (quadriceps) is expected to be placed on injured reserve, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Analysis: Brown sustained a quadriceps injury in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Falcons, and he'll likely be forced to miss at least three games. The 28-year-old had recorded just eight carries across the last three weeks, but Salvon Ahmed could see a slightly increased role behind Myles Gaskin while Brown is sidelined.

Won't return Sunday
Brown (quadriceps) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Analysis: Brown was limited by a rib injury earlier in the week and went down with the quad issue early in Sunday's contest. Cleared for action in Week 7
Brown (ribs) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Falcons, David Furones of the Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Brown's clearance despite a trio of limited practices is a silver lining in a lengthy Dolphins injury report that lists wide receivers DeVante Parker (shoulder/hamstring) and Preston Williams (groin) among seven questionable players. Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed remain ahead of Brown on the Dolphins' running back depth chart, but their pecking order seems to be fluid on a week-to-week basis, so Brown could carve out a sizable role if he gets hot; he has notched at least five touches in five of…read more

Reps capped Wednesday
Brown was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a rib injury, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: So long as Brown can maintain limited activity throughout the week or upgrade to full participation by Friday, he should be in good shape to play Sunday against the Falcons. Since logging a season-high 65 percent of the Dolphins' offensive snaps Week 4 against the Colts, Brown has seen his playing time drop to 10 and 37 percent over the past two weeks.

Sees five carries
Brown recorded five carries for 24 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Jaguars. He added one reception for seven yards.
Analysis: The Dolphins backfield devolved into a nearly even three-way split between Brown, Salvon Ahmed and Myles Gaskin. Brown led the way in yardage, thanks in large part to a 16-yard gain early in the second quarter. It's difficult to trust any member of the rushing attack in Miami at this point, and Brown has yet to surpass 35 rushing yards in any game this season.

Not involved Week 5
Brown did not log a single carry during Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Brown was invisible on offense while Myles Gaskin handled five carries and 10 targets (scoring two touchdowns in the process), and Salvon Ahmed took over the No. 2 role in the backfield. The Dolphins haven't distributed the running back workload in a predictable way on a weekly basis, and this isn't an offense that produces especially valuable backfield touches anyway, so it may be best to leave Brown off the fantasy radar except in deep leagues.

Little doing versus Colts
Brown carried the ball eight times for 23 yards and secured his only target for four yards during Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Brown's eight carries were actually a season-high mark, and Myles Gaskin rushed just twice in the contest, but none of Miami's backfield options were able to find success on the ground. The Dolphins may be forced to abandon the run again in Week 5 if Tom Brady and the Buccaneers get out to an early lead.

Finds end zone Sunday
Brown carried the ball seven times for 31 yards and a touchdown and failed to catch either of his two targets in Sunday's 31-28 overtime loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: Brown did most of his damage on a 24-yard TD carry in the first quarter, helping the Dolphins jump out to an early 14-0 lead that the defense couldn't protect. He still saw far fewer touches than Myles Gaskin despite his early success, but with backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett under center for at least two more weeks while Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) is on IR, the Dolphins could put more emphasis on the running game Week 4 at home against the Colts.

Another five-carry day
Brown handled five carries for 21 yards during Sunday's 35-0 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Brown split backfield work fairly evenly with Myles Gaskin (five carries) and Salvon Ahmed (six carries) during Sunday's blowout loss, though the game script was admittedly unusual. It remains to be seen whether Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) or Jacoby Brissett will start Week 3 against the Raiders, but no matter the case, Brown's rotational role will make it difficult to start him in almost any fantasy format.

Logs five carries
Brown carried the ball five times for 16 yards in Sunday's Week 1 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: The Dolphins predictably used a rotation in the backfield, with none of the team's running backs reaching double-digit carries. Brown served as the primary backup to Myles Gaskin, as he out-snapped Salvon Ahmed 16-11. However, he didn't do much with his opportunity, as his longest rush went for only five yards. Solid effort in preseason win

Analysis: The offseason acquisition turned in an impressive effort after fellow RB Myles Gaskin notched a pair of first-half touchdowns and 71 total yards. Brown's rushing score came from a yard out and capped off Miami's opening possession of the second half. Starts over Gaskin
Brown got the start in Saturday's preseason loss to Chicago, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: The Dolphins played nearly all of their healthy starters, including RBs Myles Gaskin. The question now is whether Gaskin is even a starter, considering Brown got most of the snaps and carries with the first-team offense Saturday afternoon. Granted, the former Ram wasn't exactly effective, taking nine carries for eight yards and one catch for seven yards. Brown got all his work while starting QB Tua Tagovailoa was still in the game, with Gaskin subbing in for the first unit and then splitting…read more

Key role could be coming
Dolphins head coach Brian Flores recently said he feels confident in Brown handling "a variety of roles: short yardage, third down, goal line" during the upcoming season, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: The Dolphins didn't add another running back until the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, when the team grabbed Gerrid Doaks. That speaks to the team's confidence in its current three-man committee, which includes Brown along with Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed. Gaskin still appears primed for the lead role, but it seems possible that Brown, whom Flores praised as "reliable" and "dependable," could beat out Ahmed for No. 2 duties. During his time with the Rams, Brown found his most success in…read more

Going to South Beach
Brown agreed to a contract Tuesday with the Dolphins, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Brown was serviceable when called upon during six seasons with the Rams, averaging 4.0 yards per carry overall and scoring 10 touchdowns the past two campaigns. Miami may continue to upgrade its backfield as the offseason goes on, but for the time being Brown slots in as the primary backup to current No. 1 option Myles Gaskin.

Could be done with Rams
Brown isn't expected to sign an extension with the Rams, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Brown spent six years with the Rams after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2015. 2020 was his most productive season with 419 rushing yards, 162 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He was utilized primarily in obvious passing and third-down situations late in the season and during the playoffs, as rookie running back Cam Akers ascended to the top of the depth chart and proved capable of handling the majority of the workload. Brown's fantasy value will obviously depend on where he signs,…read more

Bulk of work in fourth quarter
Brown rushed nine times for 30 yards and caught his only target for nine yards during Saturday's 30-20 win over Seattle. He played 20 of 73 offensive snaps.
Analysis: The Rams leaned on rookie Cam Akers early and often Saturday, so there wasn't much work left over for Brown. It's worth noting that while Brown didn't receive a carry until the third quarter, he out-touched Akers, 8-3, in the fourth quarter. Head coach Sean McVay trusts Brown, and the sixth-year running back has been involved consistently in the offense all season. Still, Brown hasn't been receiving enough opportunities -- just 29 carries and 11 targets over the past eight games -- to make a…read more

Runs behind rookie in win
Brown rushed three times for 20 yards and caught his only target for negative two yards during Sunday's 18-7 win over Arizona.
Analysis: The veteran running back was limited all week in practice with a shoulder injury, so it was encouraging to see him suit up for the regular-season finale. However, it was rookie Cam Akers who started and saw most of the work out of the backfield. Akers played 48 offensive snaps to Brown's 23, and it wouldn't be surprising if a similar timeshare continues against Seattle in the wild-card round. Brown's unlikely to make a major fantasy splash as long as Akers is healthy.

Closes week with full practice
Brown (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cardinals after practicing fully Friday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After being passed up by Darrell Henderson and then Cam Akers on the depth chart this season, Brown suddenly looks like he could be in store for a three-down role with a playoff spot on the line for the Rams in Week 17. Henderson was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after sustaining a high-ankle sprain, while Akers missed Week 16 with the same injury and hadn't practiced in any capacity this week before logging a limited workout Friday. Logs limited practice
Brown (shoulder) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Analysis: The Rams capped Brown's reps at Wednesday's walk-through and did the same during a regular session one day later. Due to high-ankle sprains hindering both Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson -- the latter of whom won't play Week 17 -- the team may be managing Brown to get him to game day intact. In any case, Akers has yet to be ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Cardinals, so Brown may still have some competition for reps if the former surprisingly gains clearance to suit up. Limited by shoulder issue
Brown was listed as limited on Wednesday's estimated practice report due to a shoulder injury, Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Analysis: Not only are fellow running backs Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson both tending to high-ankle sprains, but Brown is banged up as well. The Rams have placed Henderson on injured reserve, ruling him out for Week 17 and potentially the first two rounds of the postseason, if the Rams lock up a berth. Meanwhile, Akers was listed as a non-participant Wednesday, seemingly leaving Brown in position to lead the backfield Sunday against the Cardinals if he can shake off his own shoulder concern.…read more

Likely Week 17 starter
Brown is expected to serve as the Rams' starting running back Sunday against Arizona with Darrell Henderson (ankle) on injured reserve and Cam Akers (ankle) likely to play only a limited role if active, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Henderson is officially out after landing on IR on Tuesday, while Akers looks iffy at best for Week 17 while he manages a high-ankle sprain. With a playoff spot on the line for Los Angeles and starting quarterback Jared Goff (thumb) having already been ruled out for the regular-season finale, the backfield situation will warrant close monitoring as the week continues. Rookies Xavier Jones and Raymond Calais will stand to work behind Brown if Akers can't go.

Produces 35 scrimmage yards
Brown carried seven times for 27 yards and caught one of three targets for eight yards during Sunday's 20-9 loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: While Darrell Henderson (ankle) received 12 carries in the absence of Cam Akers (ankle), the former opened the door for Brown to play a larger role when he left with an injury of his own. Brown averaged just 3.9 yards per carry and managed a modest gain on his only reception while the offense as a whole struggled to move the ball against a beatable Seattle defense. More work likely sans Akers
Head coach Sean McVay said both Brown and Darrell Henderson will be "heavily involved" in the Rams' game plan Sunday in Seattle with top back Cam Akers (ankle) ruled out for the contest, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports. "I mean they'll both get work," McVay said of Brown and Henderson. "As far as the specifics, I'm not really sure. We're just getting into the initial parts of the game plan."
Analysis: Before Akers emerged as the team's clear top back over the past three games, the lead option out of the Los Angeles backfield had been a difficult one to predict in any given week. Expect that to be the case this weekend, as McVay was unwilling to anoint either Brown or Henderson as the No. 1 option, nor was he willing to divulge how the reps may be divvied up between the two. Just two touches in loss
Brown rushed once for four yards and caught his only target for six yards during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: With just 10 rushes for 25 yards and five receptions for 59 yards over the past five weeks, Brown's usage has taken him almost completely off the fantasy radar. The veteran should continue to see the field and receive a handful of opportunities in each of the next two regular-season games, but his recent numbers probably shouldn't inspire managers to turn to him in any fantasy format.

Workload continues to dwindle
Brown failed to catch his only target and didn't receive a carry during Thursday's 24-3 win over New England. He played just six offensive snaps.
Analysis: Rookie Cam Akers started and gashed the Patriots early and often Thursday, and there weren't many opportunities left over for Brown or second-year back Darrell Henderson. Since scoring two touchdowns Week 10 against Seattle, the veteran Brown has only rushed nine times for 21 yards and caught four passes for 53 yards over the past four games. Bumped down pecking order
Brown rushed three times for negative three yards and caught his lone target for 30 yards during Sunday's 38-28 win over Arizona. He played just 13 offensive snaps.
Analysis: After leading the Rams' backfield in offensive snaps last week, Brown trailed both rookie Cam Akers (52) and sophomore Darrell Henderson (18) Sunday. Additionally, it was Akers handling the backfield duties on the last two series, which was often a role the veteran Brown handled. Leads backfield in snaps
Brown rushed three times for four yards and caught three passes for 15 yards during Sunday's 23-20 loss to San Francisco.
Analysis: Despite playing more snaps than both Darrell Henderson and Cam Akers, Brown wasn't a notable factor in the offense. The veteran running back continued to see most of his playing time in passing situations and on third downs, and it was encouraging he remained involved in the offense after fumbling on the Rams' first possession. Plays 27 snaps in win
Brown rushed three times for 20 yards and caught an eight-yard pass on his only target during Monday's 27-24 win over Tampa Bay.
Analysis: The veteran played 27 of 72 offensive snaps and was efficient with the ball in his hands. However, It's worth noting his game-long, 14-yard run was on third-and-16 from the Los Angeles six-yard line in the fourth quarter with Tampa Bay in prevent defense, so Brown's stat line is all the more underwhelming. Bangs in two short TDs
Brown carried the ball six times for 33 yards and two touchdowns and caught both his targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 23-16 win over the Seahawks.
Analysis: The Rams deployed a true backfield committee in this one, with Cam Akers seeing 10 touches and Darrell Henderson eight, but Brown wound up posting more scrimmage yards than either of his teammates in addition to a pair of one-yard TD plunges. All three backs could struggle to post useful numbers if that workload split continues in Week 11 on the road against a very stingy Buccaneers run defense.

Brown rushed 10 times for 40 yards and secured both targets for 17 yards in the Rams' 28-17 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Analysis: Darrell Henderson left the contest for good with a thigh injury in the second quarter, which left Brown as the lead back in terms of carries the rest of the way. However, game script capped Brown's overall opportunities, and rookie Cam Akers also was afforded nine carries. Brown rushed 10 times for 57 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 24-10 win over the Bears.

That marked Brown's first score since Week 1, and Monday also featured his most rushing yards in a game since then. Brown rushed twice for four yards and caught three of four targets for 18 yards during Sunday's 24-16 loss to San Francisco.
Analysis: Brown primarily was utilized in obvious passing situations and on third downs, as his pass protection is clearly valued by head coach Sean McVay. The role probably will enable the veteran back to remain involved in the offense and offer a dash of fantasy value, especially in PPR settings. Analysis: After pacing the Rams backfield Week 4, Brown's production fell short of both Darrell Henderson and Cam Akers on Sunday. Henderson scored two touchdowns, and Akers rushed nine times for 61 yards -- including an impressive 42-yard run that highlighted the rookie's big-play ability. Takes lead in backfield Sunday
Brown carried the ball nine times for 27 yards and caught five of six targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Giants.
Analysis: While the numbers weren't impressive. Brown out-touched and out-gained Darrell Henderson both on the ground and through the air in what turned out to be a defensive battle. The Rams' backfield remains volatile even before factoring in the potential return of Cam Akers (ribs), but there could be enough production to go around in Week 5 against a Washington defense that's given up multiple rushing TDs in three straight games.

Cedes most work to Henderson
Brown rushed seven times for 19 yards and came up empty on two targets in Sunday's 35-32 loss to Buffalo.
Analysis: Brown was outplayed by Darrell Henderson, who rushed 20 times for 114 yards and a touchdown. While neither back made much of an impact in the passing game, Henderson's the more polished receiver and thus took on a larger role with the Rams digging out of a 28-3 hole. Now that he seems to have fallen behind Henderson in the pecking order, volume could be an issue for Brown against the Giants in Week 4, especially if Cam Akers (ribs) is able to make his return.

The career backup took full advantage of the opportunity and turned in a strong fantasy performance, averaging 4.4 yards per carry and punching in a pair of touchdowns. Likely to join three-man committee
Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday he expects to use a three-man backfield "rotation" consisting of Brown, Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson (hamstring) in Los Angeles' Sept. 13 season opener versus the Cowboys, Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News reports. "That's a three-back rotation that you feel really good about," McVay said. "Exactly how those carries will be distributed is something we'll determine really as the week progresses and as the game unfolds."
Analysis: Though he boasts the least impressive physical attributes of the three backs and wasn't a recent early round draft pick like Akers and Henderson, Brown boasts three years' worth of experience in McVay's scheme, which should aid the 27-year-old's case for early playing time as the Rams look to replace former lead ballcarrier Todd Gurley. Facing backfield competition
Brown will compete for playing time in 2020 with sophomore Darrell Henderson (ankle) and this year's second-round pick, Cam Akers, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The addition of Akers is a blow to Brown's fantasy stock, as Akers could quickly prove to be a better rusher between the tackles, whereas Henderson could be leaned on as more of a home-run threat in space and the passing game. However, Akers' ascension to the top of the depth chart isn't a guarantee. Brown also has experience in head coach Sean McVay's offense, and it's going to be an unprecedented offseason. No tread in blowout loss
Brown didn't receive a touch in Sunday's 44-21 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: The Rams' backfield fell victim to the Cowboys getting out to a quick lead, as Jared Goff heaved 51 passes. Todd Gurley was the team's only running back to garner a touch, as he rushed 11 times for 20 yards and a touchdown while catching three passes for 18 yards and another score. Gurley's looking as healthy as ever with 19 and 23 carries in the two games preceding this contest, so Brown's fantasy value is negligible for Week 16's matchup against the 49ers.

Brown (personal) won't carry an injury designation into Monday's game versus Baltimore, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Brown didn't practice Thursday and Friday while awaiting the birth of his child, but he returned as a full participant for Saturday's session. The 26-year-old should serve his usual role Monday as Todd Gurley's top backup.

Still away from team
Brown missed Friday's practice because he's still awaiting the birth of his child, 105.7 The Fan reports.
Analysis: Brown missed a second consecutive day of practice but remains confident that he'll be able to play Monday night. Should Brown fail to come through on his promise, Darrell Henderson will see an increased workload against the red-hot Ravens.

Awaiting birth of child
Brown wasn't in attendance for Thursday's practice while he awaits the birth of his child, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: According to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com, Brown has told the Rams he intends to rejoin the team at some point before Monday's game against the Ravens, though it's unclear how much practice time he'll be in store for this week. In the event the Rams decide to limit Brown's role in the Week 12 game plan, Darrell Henderson would step in as the top complement to lead back Todd Gurley.

Vultures touchdown in win
Brown carried the ball five times for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-7 win over the Bears.
Analysis: Coach Sean McVay finally let starter Todd Gurley eclipse the 20-touch mark in a pseudo must-win game, which led to Brown seeing just five touches in a hard-fought victory. The talented backup was able to vulture a touchdown away from Gurley, which serves more as a nuisance to the latter's fantasy owners rather than a true boost in fantasy value for Brown. The 26-year-old will stick in a change-of-pace role against the Ravens next Monday.

Quiet in Week 10 loss
Brown rushed five times for just 10 yards during Sunday's 17-12 loss to Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Having last played in Week 6, it wasn't surprising to see Brown limited to just five touches Sunday. His lack of success on the ground wasn't an outlier, either. The Rams were held to just 88 rushing yards, and Todd Gurley accounted for 73 of them. Brown's fantasy value is limited as long as Gurley is healthy, and with rookie Darrell Henderson also in the mix and Los Angeles struggling to score points, it's currently a bleak outlook for the fifth-year back.

Back to full participation
Brown (ankle) practiced in full Thursday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After Wednesday's limited showing, Brown appears to be past the ankle injury that forced absences in the Rams' previous two games in Weeks 7 and 8. It remains to be seen if he immediately slots in as the direct backup to Todd Gurley over rookie Darrell Henderson, but such a role equated to just 5.4 touches for 24.8 yards from scrimmage per game and two touchdowns in the first five weeks of the campaign.

Practices in limited capacity
Brown (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Brown was unable to practice at all in advance of the Rams' last two games Weeks 7 and 8, but with the benefit of the team's bye, he's back in the saddle in some capacity. He'll attempt to get all the way back to full activity Thursday or Friday, at which point he likely will receive a designation for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh. If Brown isn't available again this weekend, Darrell Henderson will be the No. 2 back behind starter Todd Gurley.
