Resumes running
Uzomah (Achilles) posted a video Wednesday on his personal Twitter account featuring him running on a treadmill.
Analysis: Uzomah wasn't sporting a brace while he ran on the treadmill, an encouraging sign in his recovery from the season-ending Achilles surgery he required in late September. The tight end likely will remain limited or sidelined entirely for OTAs in the spring, but he could have a shot at gaining full clearance for the start of training camp. He'll be entering the final season of a three-year, $18 million deal in 2021, but even if healthy Uzomah may not be assured a starting role. Second-year player…read more

Undergoes surgery
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday that Uzomah underwent surgery to address his season-ending Achilles injury, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Uzomah tore his right Achilles' tendon in the Week 2 loss to the Browns, spoiling what had been a solid outing up to that point (four catches for 42 yards and a touchdown). With Uzomah now turning his focus to rehabbing his leg and getting healthy for 2020, the Bengals will rely on Drew Sample to step in as their new starting tight end. Cethan Carter and Mason Schreck will handle depth roles behind Sample.

Lands on IR
Uzomah (Achilles) has been placed on IR by the Bengals.
Analysis: Uzomah tore his right Achilles in Thursday's loss to the Browns and is out for the season. As a result, Drew Sample figures to step into the starting role at tight end for the Bengals, with Cethan Carter and Mason Schreck in reserve.

Out with torn Achilles
Coach Zac Taylor said Uzomah suffered a torn Achilles and is out of the season, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The 27-year-old was carted off the field after suffering the injury during Thursday's loss to the Browns, and his season will come to an end after only two games. Uzomah was off to a strong start this season with eight catches for 87 yards and one touchdown. Drew Sample figures to step into the starting role at tight end for the Bengals, with Cethan Carter the only other tight end on the roster.

Suffers Achilles injury Thursday
Uzomah has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Browns due to a right Achilles injury, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: Uzomah was carted off the field in the fourth quarter and never appeared to have a real chance to return, so Cincinnati's decision to rule him out isn't necessarily an indication of the severity of his injury. However, Achilles' injuries are always worrying by nature. Uzomah logged four catches for 42 yards and a touchdown before leaving the field Thursday. If Uzomah is forced to miss time beyond Week 2, Drew Sample figures to take over starting tight end duties in his stead.

Leaves field on cart
Uzomah exited Thursday's divisional match against the Browns due to an apparent knee injury, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Uzomah was injured while making a grab in the fourth quarter, and he quickly clutched his right knee and removed his helmet. The 27-year-old then had to be carted off the field. In Uzomah's stead, Drew Sample will see added opportunities at tight end.

Garners five targets in Week 1
Uzomah caught four of five targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Uzomah recorded more than 45 yards in a game just twice last season, as he mostly played second fiddle to the Tyler Eifert. With Eifert in Jacksonville now, Uzomah is the clear No. 1 TE and played 72 percent of the offensive snaps Sunday -- a percentage he surpassed only in Week 17 last year. Still, Uzomah is the fourth target at best for rookie QB Joe Burrow behind A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd and Joe Mixon, so he's not a very dependable fantasy asset.

Back-to-back touchdown weeks
Uzomah finished the season with a second consecutive strong performance, catching five passes for 25 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Browns. He was on the field for 53 offensive snaps, good for a 77 percent snap share.
Analysis: Uzomah was asked to handle more of the blocking duties between the Bengals' top two tight ends, and with them protecting a lead against the Browns for most of their season finale, he was on the field far more often than Tyler Eifert. Eifert is a free agent this offseason, so it's possible that Uzomah will be free to improve upon his 2019 production, which saw him at 27 catches for 242 yards and two touchdowns.

First 2019 touchdown
Uzomah scored for the first time this season and caught all four of his targets for 37 yards in Sunday's loss to Miami.
Analysis: Uzomah still can't be relied upon to get a steady stream of targets, but the Bengals have gotten better work from their offensive line lately, freeing him up to run more routes.

Held to one catch
Uzomah had just one catch for eight yards on two targets in Sunday's loss to the Pats.
Analysis: Third-string tight end Cethan Carter scored his first career TD while Uzomah was barely used, highlighting how far from fantasy value the veteran has become.

Minimal offensive action
Uzomah had only one catch for four yards on two targets in Sunday's loss to the Browns.
Analysis: After a rare outburst in the passing game last week, Uzomah retreated back to blocking duties this week, despite being on the field for 45 offensive snaps.

Drops sure TD
Uzomah caught five of six targets for 51 yards in Sunday's 22-6 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Uzomah's lone missed connection with Andy Dalton was more memorable than any of his catches, as the tight end dropped what would have been a sure touchdown on a third down in close. Despite that drop, Uzomah still set a season high in catches and recorded his highest yardage total since Week 1. Uzomah still hasn't found the end zone this season.

Shut out again
Uzomah was held without a catch and had just one target in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: About the only hope for Uzomah is that he's on the field more often than Tyler Eifert in terms of snaps, but all too often his role is to block. He's had just one target inside the 10-yard line all season.

Minimal output
Uzomah had two catches for five yards in Sunday's loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: After catching four passes for 66 yards in the season opener, Uzomah hasn't matched that yard total with the rest of his games combined in the ensuing nine games, with just seven catches for 51 yards since then.

Draws zero targets
Uzomah played 42 offensive snaps and didn't receive a target in Sunday's 49-13 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Rookie signal caller Ryan Finley tossed the ball 30 times but didn't look Uzomah's way. Uzomah's third catchless outing of the year leaves him with just nine receptions for 112 yards and zero touchdowns over nine games this year, and a major chunk of that production came from a four-catch, 66-yard Week 1 performance.
