Jones had his most productive NFL season in 2022. During that year, he was the second-best receiver on the Jaguars. In that starting role, Jones posted 823 yards and five touchdowns on 82 receptions. Jones was unable to repeat his success in 2023. First of all, Jacksonville added Calvin Ridley. As a result, Jones became the No. 3 receiver. In addition, three different injuries cost the receiver eight games. However, once the team lost Christian Kirk to injury down the stretch, Jones moved back into a prominent role.
