Expected to start at defensive end
Walker is expected to be a key part of the revamped Chicago defense this season, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: After recording seven sacks last year, the Bears signed Walker in free agency. However, he doesn't project to be a team's primary pass rusher. Once the team added Yannick Ngakoue in free agency, it potentially put Walker in a better situation with less attention spent on him by opposing offensive lines. This gives him a fair chance to have another productive season in the sack column.

Returns to active roster
Walker (hamstring) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Analysis: Walker was placed on IR on Dec. 4 and also spent time on the COVID list preparing to return. He missed the minimum three weeks and should return to his starting job on the defensive line Sunday against the Chargers.

Designated to return from IR
Walker (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve by the Texans on Thursday.
Analysis: The defensive tackle was just removed from the COVID list Wednesday prior to being designated to return from IR on Thursday. Walker was placed on IR on Dec. 4 and he will now have 21 days to either be activated by the team or remain inactive for the rest of the 2021 season.

Moves back to IR
Walker (hamstring) was removed from the COVID list and returned to injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Analysis: Walker was placed on IR on Dec. 4 after picking up a hamstring injury in Week 12 against the Jets. How much Walker's move to the COVID list derailed his return is unknown, but he has been on IR for the minimum of three weeks. He'll try to return to the field soon and not end the season on IR.

Shifts to COVID list
The Texans placed Walker (undisclosed) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Analysis: Walker was already on IR due to an undisclosed injury and ruled out for Week 15. He will now face the additional hurdle of having to fully clear the league's COVID protocols before returning to team facilities.

Placed on injured reserve
Walker (hamstring) was placed on IR on Saturday, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Walker was injured in Week 12 against the Jets and was unable to practice all week, which led to him being ruled out for Week 13 on Friday. The move to IR guarantees he will miss the next three weeks and will lead to added opportunity for either Roy Lopez (illness) or Jaleel Johnson.

Out due to hamstring issue
Walker (hamstring) is out for Sunday's matchup against the Colts.
Analysis: Walker was unable to suit up for practice at all during the week after getting banged up in Week 12. He'll now be set for his second absence of the season -- the other came in Week 2 -- which will leave more snaps for Roy Lopez (illness) or Jaleel Johnson.

Leaves game Sunday
Walker is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Jets with a hamstring injury, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Analysis: Walker leaves the Texans without their starting right tackle. Roy Lopez should see more snaps as a result.

Returns from NFI list
Walker (undisclosed) was activated from the non-football injury list Monday, Mark Lane of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Walker was sidelined by an unspecified injury to open training camp, but he's now ready to take the field. The 26-year-old tallied 18 tackles and 4.5 sacks with Denver in 2020 before signing with Houston in the spring.

Lands on NFI list
The Texans placed Walker on the non-football injury list Wednesday with an unspecified injury, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Analysis: Walker won't be available for the beginning of training camp as a result of being placed on the NFI list. He spent his first four seasons in Denver and recorded 4.5 sacks in 2020 before signing a deal with Houston in April.

Set to join Houston
Walker has indicated that he's signing with the Texans, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Walker visited the Texans for a workout, and apparently the two sides worked out a deal during that time. The details of Walker's contract have not yet been made available, but he figures to play at least a rotational role on Houston's defensive line after recording 4.0 sacks in 2019 and 4.5 sacks in 2020, both with the Broncos.

Back from IR
The Broncos activated Walker (calf) from injured reserve Saturday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Analysis: Both Walker and Dre'Mont Jones (knee) were activated from IR on Saturday, and one of the two defensive ends could start Sunday's game versus the Chiefs because Jurrell Casey (biceps) is done for the year. Walker played just 21 defensive snaps through the first two games of the season and didn't record a tackle, so Jones may be favored in the competition.

May return Week 7
Walker (calf) is expected to return to practice Wednesday, indicating the beginning of his 21-day window to be activated from IR, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: If Walker's able to return to the lineup this Sunday versus the Chiefs, he could enjoy an expanded role since Jurrell Casey (biceps) is out for the season. However, he likely won't secure a starting gig, especially if Dre'Mont Jones (knee) is also activated from IR.

Placed on injured reserve
The Broncos placed Walker (hamstring) on injured reserve Wednesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Analysis: Walker played 17 defensive snaps in Week 1 and didn't record a tackle, and he was hurt early in this past Sunday's game against the Steelers. He's eligible to return in Week 6 against the Dolphins, but the Broncos have iffy depth going forward, as Jurrell Casey and Shelby Harris are the only remaining defensive ends. The team will likely bring in reinforcements as a result.

Expected to miss several weeks
Walker (calf) is expected to miss several weeks according to head coach Vic Fangio.
Analysis: Walker will remain on the active roster while he misses time. The defensive end suffered the calf injury in Week 2's loss to the Steelers. The Broncos are dealing with a handful of injuries along the defensive line, including Dre'Mont Jones (knee) and Jonathan Harris (illness), so they may look to bring in some extra help while Walker remains sidelined.

Will not return Week 2
Walker (calf) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Steelers, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Analysis: The Florida State product garnered 21 percent of the defensive snaps Week 1 against the Titans, but Vic Fangio's unit will now be forced to search elsewhere for depth defensive end snaps. Dre'Mont Jones will likely see a resulting uptick in usage behind starters Jurrell Casey and Shelby Harris.

Active Week 17
Walker (ankle) is active for Sunday's Week 17 game against the Raiders.
Analysis: Walker was sporting a questionable designation coming in despite having practiced in full all week, but he'll be in there against a Raiders squad that will be missing Josh Jacobs (shoulder) for the regular-season finale.

Injury resurfaces
Walker (ankle) was downgraded to questionable for Sunday's season finale against the Raiders, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Walker missed the last two games with this ankle injury, but he was a full participant in practice all week. O'Halloran reported that Walker will have a pregame workout to see if he can play, but the full-speed drills certainly bode well for the 2017 second-round pick. If he's able to go, Walker will start at defensive end and look to build on the four sacks he's recorded through nine games.

Estimated as full
Walker (ankle) was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice estimation, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: After missing the past two games with an ankle injury, Walker's estimated lack of limitations Wednesday suggests he's well on track to return to the field for Sunday's season finale against the Raiders.

Not ready for Week 16
Walker (ankle) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Lions.
Analysis: Walker only practiced on a limited basis Thursday and, as evidenced by this news, couldn't shake the injury in time. In his stead, Dre'Mont Jones is the lead candidate to get the start at one of the defensive end positions.

Questionable for Sunday
Walker (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Analysis: Walker returned to a limited practice Thursday to earn the questionable tag. Jonathan Harris could see extra playing time if Walker is forced to sit out.

No practice Wednesday
Coach Vic Fangio said Wednesday that Walker (ankle) is not practicing, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Analysis: Walker missed Week 15's loss to the Chiefs due to an ankle issue, and he's yet to make tangible progress in his recovery. He'll almost certainly need to resume practicing in some capacity ahead of Sunday's tilt against the Lions for any chance of retaking the field.

Won't play Week 15
Walker (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Kansas City, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Walker saw his first game action since Week 8 during last Sunday's win over the Texans, but he didn't appear on the injury report until he sat out Thursday's practice. Adam Gotsis (knee) is also out and Dre'Mont Jones (ankle) is questionable, leaving Shelby Harris as the team's only fully healthy defensive end for this weekend.

No practice Thursday
Walker (ankle) is not practicing Thursday, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Walker wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, indicating that his ankle injury may have been picked up during practice. With Derek Wolfe (elbow) on injured reserve and Dre'Mont Jones (ankle) nursing a significant injury, Walker could be in line for a key role on defense during Sunday's tilt in Kansas City if healthy.

Healthy scratch Sunday
Walker (coach's decision) won't suit up in Sunday's game against the Vikings, Ben Swanson of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Walker had suited up in full practice throughout the week while dealing with a shoulder injury but still won't get a chance to suit up. In his stead, Adam Gotsis and Dre'Mont Jones will handle depth defensive linemen duties for the game.

Practices in full Wednesday
Walker (shoulder) was a full participant at practice Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Analysis: Walker said Tuesday he was feeling better and that he expected to play against the Vikings this weekend, and his full practice participation reinforces that idea. The 25-year-old should resume working as a rotational piece on the defensive line for San Fran.

Aiming to play Sunday
Walker (shoulder) is feeling much better and hopes to play Sunday against the Vikings, Kyle Newman of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Walker put in a week of limited practices prior to being inactive for Week 9 against Cleveland, and now he's had the bye week to recover even further, so he seems to be on the right track. The 25-year-old has 18 tackles (12 solo) and four sacks on the season so far.

Sitting in Week 9
Walker (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's Week 9 tilt against the Browns.
Analysis: Walker was able to practice in limited fashion all week, but he'll still sit for Sunday's contest against Cleveland. Walker's solid rotational presence on the defensive line (four sacks in part-time duty this season) could be missed against an inconsistent but star-laded Browns offense.

Questionable for Sunday
Walker (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Analysis: Walker worked as a limited practice participant this week and was unable to show enough to avoid the questionable tag. Jonathan Harris would likely see increased reps as a rotational defensive end should Walker be unable to play.
