He also had three quarterback pressures, but Garrett's more than just a nuisance to quarterbacks. He's also had a nose for the ball in 2020 with four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Records sack in loss

Garrett had four tackles and one sack in Sunday's 38-7 loss to the Steelers.

Analysis: Garrett recorded his seventh sack in six games and has at least one quarterback takedown in each of the last five. He's second in the NFL in sacks behind the Rams' Aaron Donald who has 7.5.

Another impact game

Garrett had four tackles, one sack and three quarterback hits in Sunday's 32-23 win over the Colts.

Analysis: Garrett dropped Indianapolis quarterback Phillip Rivers in the first quarter, giving him sacks in four straight contests. A bigger play came later in the fourth quarter after the Colts trimmed a three-score deficit to one. Garrett will face a Colts' offensive line in Week 5 that will be without Pro Bowl left tackle Anthony Castonzo, Ellis L. Williams of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Analysis: Garrett feasted on a backup tackle last week when he recorded two sacks against the Cowboys, including a third straight game with a strip sack. With five sacks on the season, Garrett lines up against Indianapolis backup tackle Le'Raven Clark.

Disruptive Week 3

Garrett recorded four tackles, two sacks and recovered a fumble in Sunday's 34-20 win over Washington in Week 3.

Analysis: For the second straight week, Garrett caused a fumble on a scak that led to important points in a Cleveland win. Per Next Gen Stats, Garrett had seven pressures, which led to three of the Browns' five turnovers. After a quiet Week 1, he's posted sacks in each of the following two weeks.

Quiet Week 1

Garrett recorded one tackle, a quarterback hit and recovered a fumble in Sunday's 38-6 loss to the Ravens in Week 1.

Analysis: Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson was more than Garrett and the rest of the Browns' defense could handle Week 1. Garrett should finish among the league's sack leaders, so don't be discouraged by the results against a dangerous opponent.

Absent from injury report

Garrett (wrist) wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Analysis: When Garrett first missed practice with this wrist injury, coach Kevin Stefanski relayed that he was simply being cautious with the superstar defensive end. Wednesday's report confirms that, and Garrett should log a full workload in Sunday's game versus the Ravens. Last season, he averaged 55.5 defensive snaps over 10 games and recorded 29 tackles, 10 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Returns to practice

Garrett (wrist) participated in practice Tuesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Analysis: Garrett was absent from Sunday's session due to a wrist concern. When he took the field for individual drills Tuesday, he was donning a brace on his right wrist, but the defensive end removed it after only a handful of reps. Despite this fact, Garrett didn't take part in a pass-rush drill in which other D-linemen weaved through heavy bags. Look for the 24-year-old to continue ramping up his activity level with an eye toward the Browns' season opener in Baltimore on Sept. 13.

Analysis: Coach Kevin Stefanski says the team was merely showing an "abundance of caution." It sounds like Garrett should return to practice before Week 1.

Analysis: Garrett was slowed by a hamstring injury earlier in camp, so his participation in pads represents progress. Coming off a suspension-marred season in which he recorded 10 sacks in nine games, Garrett is motivated to stay out of trouble in 2020 and play a full schedule.

Back at practice Saturday

Garrett (hamstring) is expected to participate in Saturday's practice, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Analysis: Garrett missed a couple of practices earlier last week after straining his hamstring running but will make his return to the field Saturday. The 2017 No. 1 overall pick has played just one full season in his three-year career to date, but he's accumulated double-digit sacks in back-to-back seasons.

Logs individual work

Garrett (hamstring) participated in individual drills during Thursday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Analysis: Garrett had missed a number of practices since suffering a hamstring injury earlier this month, so it's encouraging to see him back to work in some capacity. It doesn't appear that the star defensive end is in any danger of missing Week 1's tilt against Baltimore. As long as he's on the field, Garrett will be a premier fantasy option in IDP formats.
