Earns starting role
Ford is expected to start at strong safety alongside Darnell Savage heading into the season, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports
Analysis: With Adrian Amos leaving Green Bay following a four-year tenure as the starting strong safety, the position was up for grabs when training camp kicked off. It looks like Ford beat out Jonathan Owens for the opportunity. The 28-year-old had stints in Arizona, Philadelphia and Jacksonville before landing in Green Bay last year. He played in all 17 games, including six starts, in 2022 while recording three interceptions, one fumble recovery, and 44 tackles (31 solo).

Re-signs with Green Bay
Ford signed with the Packers on Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Ford will return to the Packers after recording 44 tackles (31 solo) and three interceptions for them last season. The 28-year-old is coming off the best season of his career and will now look for an opportunity to compete for the starting job. Alongside Tarvarius Moore, Ford is now the second safety the Packers have signed this offseason as they look to improve their depth in the secondary.

Fills regular role in 2022
Ford recorded 44 tackles (31 solo), three interceptions and three pass deflections over 17 appearances during the 2022 season.
Analysis: Ford proved to be a good find for the Packers last offseason, as he appeared in every game the team played and even made a career-high six starts. He will be a free agent this offseason, so it remains to be seen which team he will suit up for moving forward.

Cleared from injury report
Ford (illness) was a full participant on Thursday's practice report, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Ford sat out practice Wednesday, but it appears he's fully recovered from the illness. The veteran safety has seen a major uptick in work over the last two weeks, so his ability to suit up Sunday against the Eagles should be good news for the team's secondary.

Sits out practice Wednesday
Ford did not practice Wednesday due to an illness.
Analysis: Ford has seen an increased role over Green Bay's past two games, totaling 93 defensive snaps and recording eight tackles and two interceptions. The severity of his illness is uncertain, and he'll have two more opportunities to get back on the practice field ahead of Sunday's Week 12 clash against the Eagles.

Records two picks in win
Ford had four solo tackles and two interceptions in Sunday's 31-28 overtime victory over the Cowboys.
Analysis: The special-teams specialist had logged all of 19 defensive snaps in the five games that preceded Sunday's, but he was out there a season-high 60 times in Week 10, and that afforded him the opportunity to pick up his first two picks since joining the Packers in late August. Given how Ford fared, chances are he will continue getting more chances to show what he can do when the opponent has the ball.

Signs with Packers
Ford was signed by the Packers on Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Ford has found a new home just two days after he was released by the Jaguars. The safety produced career-best numbers in 2021 with Jacksonville and will operate as a depth option behind Adrian Amos in the Packers' secondary this season.

Cut by Jacksonville
The Jaguars released Ford on Monday.
Analysis: Ford set career highs in games played (15), defensive snaps (408) and tackles (53) during his only season in Jacksonville, but he won't make the team's initial 53-man roster in 2022. Before his breakout campaign last year, he primarily operated as a special-teams asset with the Cardinals and Eagles.

Clears COVID-19 list
Ford was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: Ford missed the final two games of the regular season due to COVID-19 protocols. He finished the 2021 campaign with 53 tackles, three pass deflections, one interception and half a sack across 15 appearances.

Lands on COVID-19 list
Ford (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Analysis: Ford has played at least 20 defensive snaps in every contest since Week 6, so his potential absence would be a significant blow to the Jaguars' defense. If he's unable to clear protocols ahead of Week 17, then Nevin Lawson would likely see increased snaps at slot cornerback against the Patriots.

Secures first interception
Ford had seven tackles (all solo), three passes defensed and an interception during Sunday's 9-6 win over the Bills.
Analysis: Ford has taken on a larger defensive role over the past few weeks and played all but one defensive snap Sunday, and in the process he grabbed the first interception of his career. The 27-year-old primarily played special teams across his first four NFL seasons, but he's playing himself into a more significant defensive role during his first year in Jacksonville.

Signing with Jags
Jacksonville and Ford have agreed to terms Monday on a two-year, $4.2 million contract, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Ford stands to bolster Jacksonville's safety depth while also contributing on special teams. He appeared in eight games with the Eagles last season, recording a career-high 15 tackles (13 solo)

Back to work Thursday
Ford (hamstring) was a full participant during Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Ford has missed the past four games due to the hamstring issue, but he appears on track to suit up Week 15. Ford has accumulated nine tackles (eight solo) through five games this season, all coming on special teams, so his return to active status won't have an impact from an IDP perspective.

Ford (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Saints.

Remains out Monday

Won't play Week 11
Ford (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Browns.
Analysis: Ford didn't take the practice field all week, and he'll sit out for a third straight game. It's a major loss for the Eagles on special teams, as he's piled up nine special-teams tackles (second in the league) through just five games,

Return remains questionable
Ford (hamstring) has been labeled as questionable to return to Sunday's matchup against the Giants.
Analysis: Ford resided on IR for 23 days in October while dealing with a hamstring injury, and he again is confronted with an issue midgame. The Auburn product has yet to field a single snap on the defensive side for Philadelphia this season, after last year carrying a nearly exclusive special-teams role.

Joins active roster
Ford (hamstring) was activated from injured reserve Saturday.
Analysis: Ford will return from injured reserve after the minimum three games. The Eagles have their divisional matchup Sunday against the Cowboys, so with Ford fully recovered Philadelphia's defense can perhaps get back on track.

Set to return from IR
Ford (hamstring) returned to practice Monday, indicating the beginning of his 21-day window to be activated from IR.
Analysis: Ford will aim to return for Sunday's divisional tilt against the Cowboys. Despite missing three games, Ford is still tied for the team lead with five tackles on special teams.

Heads to IR
Ford (hamstring) landed on injured reserved Thursday.
Analysis: The 25-year-old was forced to sit out Week 3 because of a groin injury, but he was able to return for a Sunday night matchup against the 49ers, fielding nine special-teams snaps before being ruled out at halftime with a new injury. Ford's latest issue will keep him out for at least three weeks given his IR designation, meaning that Philadelphia will have to search elsewhere for special teams and safety depth.

Slated to miss time
Coach Doug Pederson relayed Monday that Ford (hamstring) likely will miss some time, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Ford missed Week 3 with a groin injury but shook it off for Sunday's win against the 49ers, which he left with a hamstring issue. His absence will only affect the team's secondary depth and special teams.

Ruled out at halftime
Ford (hamstring) won't return to Sunday's game against San Francisco.
Analysis: Ford was injured in the first half and ruled out at halftime. We'll see if coach Doug Pederson will have any update on Ford's status after the game, while the safety will attempt to heal up in time to face the Steelers in Week 5.

Hurts hammy on SNF
Ford (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Analysis: Ford had been playing an expanded role in Philadelphia's injury-riddled secondary, but he has been forced out of the game against San Francisco, at least for the moment. He battled a groin injury leading up to this game, and it's not clear if his hamstring injury is linked to that groin issue.

Ready for Week 4
Ford (groin) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game versus the 49ers.
Analysis: Ford will return to the lineup after missing Week 3's game. Considering he's played only on special teams this season, Ford's return likely won't affect the defensive dynamic.

Will sit out Sunday
Ford (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Bengals, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
Analysis: Ford has played only on special teams so far this season, so his absence won't affect the Eagles' defense. He'll aim to return in Week 4 against the 49ers.

Heading for depth role
Ford (abdomen) will compete for a depth role with the Eagles in training camp, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Ford notched six tackles across 10 appearances with the Eagles last season before going down with an abdominal injury. He also played a key role on special teams. Now healthy, the 25-year-old will compete to secure a similar role for 2020.

Lands on injured reserve
Ford (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Analysis: Ford was unable to practice this week due to the Achilles injury and was already ruled out for Sunday, and now his season comes to an early end. The 25-year-old had six tackles (three solo) in 10 games.

Out Week 12
Ford (Achilles) will not play in Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Analysis: Ford was unable to practice all week, so it's no surprise that he will be unable to return Sunday. His next chance to suit up will be Week 13 against the Dolphins.
