Elevated to active roster
Clement was elevated to the Cardinals' active roster Saturday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The move corresponds with Keaontay Ingram (neck) being listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the 49ers. If Ingram is ruled out, Clement could fill a depth backfield role behind James Conner and Emari Demercado.

Rejoins Arizona on practice squad
Clement was picked up by the Cardinals' practice squad Thursday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Analysis: Clement was released by Arizona on Tuesday after failing to beat out Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado for a depth backfield spot behind James Conner. He finished the preseason strong with 84 yards on 16 touches in the preseason finale against the Vikings on Saturday. He appeared in nine games for the Cardinals last season, rushing for 55 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries while adding five catches for 54 yards.

Back to free agency
The Cardinals are slated to release Clement on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Clement failed to beat out Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado during the preseason, but he won't be subjected to waivers and can immediately begin testing the waters for a depth opportunity elsewhere. In nine appearances with Arizona last season, Clement turned 15 carries into 55 yards and one touchdown. He also caught five of seven targets for 54 yards.

May be slipping down depth chart
Clement carried the ball 14 times for 79 yards in Saturday's 18-17 preseason win over Minnesota.
Analysis: Clement worked behind both Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado for the second consecutive week, suggesting he may be slipping down the Arizona depth chart. Positively, he did run well, tallying long gains of 29 and 10 yards. James Conner is projected to handle a significant amount of the carries out of Arizona's backfield, so regardless of exactly where Clement slots in on the depth chart, he isn't likely to see many snaps with the offensive unit.

Receives three touches Saturday
Clement tallied two carries for three yards and gathered in one of two targets for four yards during Saturday's 38-10 preseason loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Clement was the fourth Cardinals running back to enter the game behind top option James Conner, Keaontay Ingram and undrafted rookie Emari Demercado, while Ty'Son Williams didn't see the field at all. Despite the potential demotion, Clement remains behind Conner and Ingram and ahead of Demercado and Williams on the team's third unofficial depth chart of the preseason, per Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic. Clement's performance in Saturday's exhibition at Minnesota ultimately may determine…read more

Records nine touches Friday
Clement had six carries for 15 yards and hauled in all three targets for 13 yards during Friday's 18-17 preseason victory against the Broncos.
Analysis: Clement handled the first touch of the game for the Cardinals (a five-yard connection with quarterback Colt McCoy) and received touches in three of the team's initial four possession. The overall output was nothing to write home about -- 2.5 yards per carry, 4.3 yards per catch -- but with James Conner and Keaontay Ingram (abdomen) unavailable, Clement may be the current leader for the No. 3 RB role in Arizona. Ty'Son Williams, Clement's main competitor, did have 10 rushes for 51 yards, but he…read more

Sees limited touches in 2021
Clement finished the regular season with 33 carries for 140 rushing yards and six catches on seven targets for 29 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: While he suited up for all 17 games in his first season with Dallas, Clement was mainly used on special teams and saw double-digit snaps on offense only three times. He was able to score his only TD against his former club the Eagles in Week 18, however. A free agent in the offseason, Clement could return to the Cowboys but will fill a depth role in the backfield wherever he ends up in 2022.

Scores versus Eagles
Clement rushed seven times for 58 yards and caught all four of his targets for 22 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 51-26 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: Clement enjoyed an expanded role with Tony Pollard (foot) unavailable. Although starter Ezekiel Elliott led the Cowboys with 19 touches, Clement made an impressive impact with his 11, totaling a season-high 80 yards while scoring for the first time with an eight-yard reception to begin the fourth quarter. Despite Pollard potentially being set to return for next weekend's playoff game, Clement's performance Saturday emphasizes Dallas' depth at tailback heading into the postseason.

Poised for bigger workload Week 18
Clement may be in line for more work alongside Ezekiel Elliott on Saturday at Philadelphia with Tony Pollard (foot) unavailable for the contest, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Pollard logged limited practices during Week 18 prep and was given a questionable tag on Thursday's injury report. However, the Cowboys ruled him out Friday, giving him a week of rest ahead of the postseason. Clement hasn't had many chances to produce behind Elliott and Pollard this season, as he's averaged 3.2 yards on his 26 carries and posted two catches (on three targets) for seven yards in 16 games. Still, when he stepped in as the No. 2 RB for Pollard in Week 13 at Washington, he turned…read more

Handles four carries in win
Clement carried the ball four times for 18 yards in Sunday's 56-14 win over Washington.
Analysis: Clement played on just seven of the Cowboys' 73 offensive snaps in the contest. The veteran's biggest play, however, came on specials teams when he blocked a punt that was recovered for a Dallas touchdown. Corey Clement should continue to operate as the team's No. 3 back behind Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard going forward, limiting his ability to produce for fantasy purposes.

Should retain small role Week 15
Clement is expected to play some snaps on offense Sunday against the Giants while serving as the No. 3 back behind Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard (foot), Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Clement elevated to the No. 2 role for last week's win over Washington while Pollard sat out with a torn plantar fascia in his left foot, finishing the day with 13 carries for 44 yards to go with one two-yard reception. Though Clement hasn't typically had a role in the game plan when both Elliott and Pollard are active, since the latter two have been nursing injuries of late, the Wisconsin product looks like he'll get a couple reps in an effort to lessen their workloads. Solid numbers as No. 2 back
Clement carried the ball 13 times for 44 yards and caught one of two targets for two yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over Washington.
Analysis: With Tony Pollard (foot) sidelined, Clement stepped in as Dallas' No. 2 running back and actually saw one more touch than Ezekiel Elliott, but neither RB was efficient. It's not yet clear if Pollard will be ready to return Week 15 against the Giants, so Clement again could find himself with a fairly substantial role in the offense.

Sees action late in blowout
Clement carried the ball six times for 20 yards and caught his only target for five yards in Sunday's 43-3 win over the Falcons.
Analysis: It was the most work the former Eagle has seen in a game yet for the Cowboys, but Clement's touches came in the fourth quarter of a blowout win. As long as Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard are healthy, Clement's primary value to Dallas will come on special teams.

Absent from injury report
Clement (illness) is not listed on the Cowboys' final injury report heading into Sunday's matchup with the Falcons, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Clement missed consecutive practices earlier in the week due to an illness before logging a full workload Friday. Barring any setbacks, look for him to take on his usual role on special teams, as well as to provide depth at running back.

Absent from practice
Clement (illness) didn't participate in Thursday's practice session, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Finds another home in NFC East
Clement agreed Wednesday with Dallas on a one-year deal, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Clement arrives in Dallas as the No. 3 back, and he's unlikely to get snaps on offense unless Ezekiel Elliott or Tony Pollard suffers an injury or the Cowboys are in the closing minutes of a blowout. Instead, Clement is mostly expected to make his mark on special teams, something he did for the Eagles in 2017 before emerging as an unlikely rookie hero in the team's run to the Super Bowl. Cut free by G-Men
Clement was cut by the Giants on Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Early camp reports hinted at Clement pushing Devontae Booker for a backup role, but it seems instead the former Eagle was surpassed by rookie sixth-round pick Gary Brightwell. Clement can block, catch passes and play special teams; it's his lack of explosiveness as a runner that seems to be the issue.

Gets four carries
Clement rushed four times for 24 yards in Sunday's 22-20 preseason loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: Clement outplayed starter Devontae Booker, who finished with just 17 yards on eight total touches. Nonetheless, as the regular season approaches, it still appears Booker is the favorite to serve as Saquon Barkley's (knee) top understudy. However, if Barkley is slowed at all, Clement could find more opportunities to see the field, beginning with Week 1's matchup versus the Broncos.

Leads in carries
Clement rushed nine times for 30 yards in Sunday's 17-13 preseason loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Clement entered the game after Devontae Booker started and managed 40 yards and a touchdown from eight touches over New York's first two drives. Although Clement protected the ball after fumbling in his first preseason outing, Booker's superior performance should keep him as the Giants' top backup behind Saquon Barkley heading into next weekend's exhibition finale.

Fumbles in preseason opener
Clement rushed five times for 32 yards and lost a fumble in Saturday's 12-7 preseason loss to the Jets. He wasn't targeted in the passing game.
Analysis: Devontae Booker got the start, suggesting he's currently above Clement in the running back pecking order after Saquon Barkley. Clement found space effectively but lost a crucial fumble at the Jets' three-yard line on 1st-and-goal. The former Eagles running back will look to improve his ball security in Week 2 of the preseason against Cleveland.

Making bid for backup role
Clement is outperforming Devontae Booker at Giants training camp, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger.
Analysis: With Saquon Barkley (knee) on the PUP list, Booker has mostly worked as the top running back in practice, as was expected after he signed a two-year, $6 million contract in March. Clement settled for a one-year, $990,000 deal a couple months later, but it sounds like he's now pushing Booker for what could be the Week 1 starting job (if Barkley isn't ready). Signs with Big Blue
Clement has signed a contract with the Giants, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Clement appeared in 15 games with the Eagles last season but played a minimal role on offense, totaling just 26 touches. He featured more prominently on special teams, where Clement has some experience returning punts and kicks. Clement's versatility should give him the inside track when it comes to securing a spot on the Giants' roster, but he'll need to earn that spot in preseason.

Mostly sees special-teams duty
Clement finished the 2020 season with 20 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown in 15 games, while adding five catches on six targets for 25 more yards.
Analysis: Clement was only involved in the Eagles offense when Miles Sanders was out. Even then, it was only minimal involvement as pint-sized Boston Scott took over as the lead back in those several games. The 27-year-old former Super Bowl hero now heads into unrestricted free agency.

No offensive role Sunday
Clement didn't play an offensive snap during Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Packers.

The Eagles activated Clement from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.

Moves to COVID list
Clement was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.
Analysis: Upon discovering Thursday morning that a player within the organization tested positive for COVID-19, Philadelphia shifted a total of five players to the inactive list -- including fellow depth skill-position players J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and John Hightower. The 26-year-old Clement has not been heavily integrated into the offense this season, collecting 19 rush attempts and four receptions over his nine appearances. Just one snap Sunday
Clement rushed once for five yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Giants.
Analysis: Clement is primarily a special-teams player with Miles Sanders now back healthy. Even in the three games this season in which the 26-year-old has seen double-digit snaps, he has failed to top six carries or 24 rushing yards.

Gets six touches in win
Clement rushed five times for 24 yards and caught one of his two targets for four yards in Sunday's 23-9 win over Dallas.
Analysis: The Wisconsin product saw at least 18 snaps on offense for the second straight week with Miles Sanders still nursing a knee issue. As expected, Boston Scott significantly outpaced Clement with more than double the playing time and touches. He'll likely revert to a role primarily on special teams if Sanders is healthy coming out of the Eagles' bye in Week 9.

Gets three touches in win
Clement rushed twice for nine yards and caught his lone target for 12 yards in Thursday's 22-21 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Clement saw just 18 snaps on offense even with Miles Sanders inactive due to a knee injury. Boston Scott worked as the lead back in the win, playing 56 total snaps on offense. It doesn't look like Clement will see much action unless both Sanders and Scott are forced to miss time.

Sees light use Week 6
Clement failed to corral his lone target in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Clement played seven offensive snaps in the contest, his most since the Eagles' Week 1 loss to Washington, when Miles Sanders was sidelined with a hamstring injury. Sanders exited Sunday's contest midway through the third quarter with a knee injury that's expected to keep him out for 1-to-2 weeks, paving the way for Clement to see a slightly expanded workload Week 7 in a Thursday night matchup with the Giants. Clement rushed twice for three yards in Sunday's 25-20 win over San Francisco.
Analysis: Clement saw just four snaps in the win. The good news for the Wisconsin product is that at least he has a good shot to get the ball when in the game. The downside is that he has been on the field for a grand total of 13 offensive plays over the last three games.

Sees just six snaps Sunday
Clement rushed three times for eight yards in Sunday's 23-23 tie with the Bengals.
Analysis: Clement once again played sparingly behind Miles Sanders and saw just six snaps on offense, seven fewer than Boston Scott. Perhaps his most notable contribution to the game was an unnecessary roughness penalty on a second-quarter punt that set the Bengals up at the Eagles' 38-yard line, enabling Cincinnati to kick a field goal just five plays later for its first points of the game. Resumes practicing in full
Clement (illness) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

No practice due to illness
Clement did not practice Wednesday due to an illness.
Analysis: Clement should suit up against the Bengals on Sunday as long as he's able to shake his illness before the contest. The 25-year-old didn't see any touches Week 2 with Miles Sanders back in the lineup, so Clement's status won't carry much of a fantasy impact one way or another.

Does little with eight touches
Clement carried six times for 19 yards and caught both his targets for an additional two yards during Sunday's 27-17 loss to Washington.
Analysis: In the absence of Miles Sanders (hamstring), Clement received his first offensive touches since the 2018 season. He averaged an underwhelming 3.2 yards per carry and did next to nothing as a receiver outside of an eight-yard gain. Clement could play a role next Sunday against the Rams if Sanders remains out, but even if he does, he seems like a longshot for notable fantasy production.

Increased duties on tap
Clement is slated for an increased role in Sunday's game versus Washington following news that Miles Sanders (hamstring) has been ruled out, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Boston Scott is expected to be the main beneficiary of Sanders' absence, but Clement should garner a decent amount of touches as well. While the 25-year-old running back barely played last year, he's been a formidable depth option and has averaged 4.1 yards per carry in his career while displaying solid pass-catching abilities. He's worth fantasy consideration in deeper formats.

Ready for Sunday
Clement (quadriceps) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's contest in Washington.

Clement was limited in Thursday's practice due to a quadriceps injury.

Fills in for Sanders and Scott

Analysis: The report notes that Elijah Holyfield also rotated in with the first team at times. With Miles Sanders labeled as week to week with a lower-body injury and his top backup Boston Scott (lower body) considered day to day, Clement should continue to see an uptick in first-team work for at least the next several days. Returning to Philly
Clement signed a one-year contract with the Eagles on Wednesday.
Analysis: Philadelphia opted not to tender the 25-year-old a contract as a restricted free agent in March, but the team is now bringing him back on a more affordable deal. Clement had a solid rookie campaign as an undrafted free agent in 2017, but he's been limited by injury to 15 games over the past two seasons. The Eagles didn't add any running backs during the 2020 NFL Draft, so the Wisconsin product figures to compete for the backup slotting behind No. 1 option Miles Sanders.

Cleared from shoulder injury
Clement (shoulder) received medical clearance Monday, NJ.com's Mike Kaye reports.
Analysis: The Super Bowl XXXIX hero has struggled with injuries ever since his big moment, limited to 15 games and 259 rushing yards over the past two seasons. Now that he's been cleared from October surgery, the unrestricted free agent hopes to re-sign with the Eagles. Regardless of where he ends up signing, Clement will need to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster, considering he's played nearly as many snaps on special teams (474) as on offense (497) in three NFL seasons.

Clement (shoulder) is set to become an unrestricted free agent, with the Eagles choosing to not extend a contract tender, Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com reports.
Analysis: The minimum restricted free-agent tender costs $2.132 million, which would be a large number for a third/fourth-string running back. Clement was never able to build on the promise of a rookie season that culminated with a huge performance in the Super Bowl, hindered by knee and shoulder injuries the past two years. Analysis: A Super Bowl hero at the end of his rookie season, Clement took a step back in 2018 with 3.8 yards per carry and then played just four games in 2019 before landing on injured reserve with a shoulder injury that required surgery.
