Ready for Saturday
Edmunds (hamstring) does not carry an injury designation for Saturday's divisional-round game against the Ravens.
Analysis: Edmunds managed to practice in full Thursday after having begun the week with back-to-back limited sessions. The star middle linebacker can safely be considered on track for his usual every-down defensive role during Saturday's divisional playoff game.

Back-to-back limited sessions
Edmunds (hamstring) was listed as limited again for Wednesday's practice session.
Analysis: The Bills seem to be taking it easy on their banged-up stars, though we'll feel better that Edmunds is closer to full health if he can get in a full session in the team's final practice of the week Thursday.

Limited Tuesday
Edmunds was listed as a limited participant Tuesday due to a hamstring issue.
Analysis: The Bills took it easy on some other stars in the first practice of the week, so we wouldn't be too concerned about the middle linebacker's status for Saturday's divisional playoff game against the Ravens. Edmunds posted nine tackles and two passes defended in the win over the Colts.

Faces no limitations in practice
Edmunds (foot) was a full participant during Thursday's practice session.
Analysis: With the Bills heading into Denver on a short week, it became more unnerving to see Edmunds arise on the injury report Tuesday and Wednesday. Now clear for Week 15 with a full practice session under his belt, the Virginia Tech product continues his bid for a second consecutive Pro Bowl nod. Edmunds carries 97 tackles, three pass deflections and one sack into a matchup against the Broncos' No. 29 scoring offense.

Limited in Wednesday's session
Edmunds (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Edmunds also received a limited designation in Tuesday's walk-through practice. He'll have one more chance to improve his participation level Thursday before Buffalo takes the field Saturday in Denver. Tyrel Dodson would fill in at middle linebacker if Edmunds is out or limited on game day.

Makes first sack of 2020
Edmunds recorded 11 tackles (eight solo), a sack and a pass breakup in Sunday's 44-34 win over the Seahawks.
Analysis: For the third time this season, Edmunds reached double-digit tackles in a game, and the 22-year-old linebacker added his first sack of the year as well. With 63 stops through eight games, Edmunds is comfortably on track for a third straight season with 100-plus tackles despite already missing a game.

Tallies 12 tackles
Edmunds had 12 tackles (eight solo) during Monday's 26-17 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: The 22-year-old had only eight tackles over his first two games of the season, but he's combined for 33 tackles over the past three contests. Edmunds posted 121 tackles and 115 tackles in his first two seasons and is on pace for a similar total in 2020.

Cleared to play
Edmunds (shoulder) is absent from the Bills' final injury report ahead of Monday's matchup with the Chiefs.
Analysis: Edmunds popped up on the injury report after practicing in limited fashion Friday. However, it looks like the Bills were simply erring on the side of caution with their starting middle linebacker. Look for him to take on his usual role Monday assuming he avoids any setbacks, while it's worth noting that the coaching staff made comments earlier this week that even though Edmunds continues to play, he's still not 100 percent after suffering the injury in Week 2.

Limited Friday
Edmunds was listed as a limited participant Friday due to a shoulder issue, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: A shoulder issue kept Edmunds out of the Week 2 game in Miami, but he's played through it since. It's unclear if his limited participation Friday is related, or if it is, if he was given a lighter load for precautionary reasons in what's been a busy week for the Bills. With the team not playing until Monday, Saturday's session will likely be more telling for the Bills' leading linebacker in terms of tackles (29).

Highest tackle total of 2020
Edmunds totaled 12 tackles in Sunday's win over the Raiders while playing all 74 defensive snaps.
Analysis: Edmunds looks like he's past the shoulder injury that slightly derailed the early part of his season, producing his biggest tackle output of the season and matching the highest he's ever put up in a single game as a pro. If teammate Matt Milano's pectoral injury keeps him out of further action, Edmunds would be even more likely to post continued elevated tackle totals.

Back to full practice
Edmunds (shoulder) practiced fully Thursday after being limited during Wednesday's session.
Analysis: More specifically, the athletic middle linebacker shed his red no-contact jersey, meaning he should be a safe IDP play for this week's game against the Raiders.

Starts week limited
Edmunds (shoulder) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Analysis: The starting middle linebacker returned from a one-game absence for Week 3 and played all but one defensive play, so we assume the team is taking it easy on him to open the week, as coach Sean McDermott often does with his veterans. Edmunds tallied a modest five tackles in Sunday's win and was outplayed by fellow linebacker Matt Milano, who was returning from an injury of his own.

All clear Sunday
Edmunds (shoulder) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Analysis: It was reported earlier that Edmunds was expected to play in the contest after drawing a trio of limited practices last week, so this news isn't surprising. Now healthy, Edmunds is expected to assume his usual starting role as the team's middle linebacker.

Likely to suit up
Edmunds (shoulder), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, is expected to play, Kimberly Jones of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The Bills should be back to full strength at linebacker Week 3, as Matt Milano (hamstring) -- who is also listed as questionable -- is expected to return after a one-game absence. Edmunds was also sidelined for the Bills' Week 2 win over the Dolphins, marking only the second absence of his three-year career.

Draws questionable tag
Edmunds (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Analysis: Edmunds has put together a trio of limited practices this week, and it looks as though the final word on his status may not come until Buffalo's inactive list is revealed around 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday. Fellow starter Matt Milano (hamstring) is also listed as questionable, so it remains possible that Buffalo's defense could once again be without its top two linebackers versus the Rams.

Inching toward return
Edmunds (shoulder), who practiced Wednesday on a limited basis, is working again Thursday while in a non-contact jersey, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Edmunds and Matt Milano -- the two best linebackers on the team -- both missed the Week 2 win over the Dolphins. While the substitutes performed adequately, it was clear there was something missing without the two main guys, and the stout Buffalo defense yielded some big yardage over the middle of the field throughout the game. Those that roster Tyler Higbee will want to keep an eye on the two linebackers' statuses the the Rams-Bills matchup following a game where Miami tight end Mike Gesicki…read more

Limited participant Wednesday
Edmunds (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Edmunds got some limited practices in last week as well, but he was ultimately held out of Sunday's win over Miami. With some extra recovery time under his belt, the middle linebacker will hope to raise his practice participation and get back in there against the Rams in Week 3.

Won't play Week 2
Coach Sean McDermott has ruled Edmunds (shoulder) out for Sunday's divisional match against the Dolphins, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: McDermott said that neither Edmunds nor position mate Matt Milano (hamstring) will practice Friday or suit up Sunday. With both starting linebackers sidelined, it looks like Tyrel Dodson and Tyler Matakevich will be thrust into the lineup in Miami. The opportunity that Dodson and Matakevich should receive makes them both emergency options in IDP formats. Starter A.J. Klein will also see the field a lot more this week.

Limited Thursday
Edmunds (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: Edmunds did some very limited work during Wednesday's session, so even though he wore a no-contact jersey Thursday, he appears to be trending toward at least trying to play through the injury Sunday in Miami. We'll see if Edmunds is limited or full Friday. Teammate and fellow starter Matt Milano has been unable to practice on any level so far this week.

Not practicing Wednesday
Edmunds, who left Sunday's game with a shoulder injury, is not practicing Wednesday, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Coach Sean McDermott made it sound as if Edmunds was close to getting on the field in his prepractice comments, so we wouldn't be surprised if Edmunds is able to try some limited work Thursday or Friday in an attempt to get ready for the Week 2 divisional showdown against the Dolphins.

Injury not too serious
Coach Sean McDermott said Edmunds (shoulder) is day-to-day Monday, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Edmunds exited early in Week 1's win over the Jets, and McDermott doesn't believe this will be a long-term injury. It appears the 22-year-old linebacker could be ready by Sunday's divisional matchup against the Dolphins, and his Wednesday practice report will be more telling.

Exits with shoulder injury
Edmunds (shoulder) is questionable to return for the team's Week 1 matchup against the Jets.
Analysis: It's unclear how Edmunds sustained the injury, but any extended absence would be a big blow to the Bills' defense. It's likely that the team will take a cautious approach with Edmunds in the hope that he can return in Week 2 against the Dolphins.

Earns high praise
Coach Sean McDermott mentioned Edmunds as a player who's exceeded expectations throughout training camp, Dante Lasting of the Bills' official site reports. Said the coach, "To watch his maturity and growth over the course of the offseason on the field and off the field. He seems very comfortable in his own whereabouts in terms of what we're doing scheme-wise and is very confident as a leader in our locker room. The interesting part about that is we haven't really been around one another [this offseason]. So really a lot of the credit goes to him and his support system at home."
Analysis: Edmunds is entering his third year with the team and will play all three downs in a defense he's comfortable with. After posting 121 and 115 tackles in his first two seasons, he seems like a sure bet -- assuming good health -- to post another triple-digit tackle season. Edmunds only recorded one turnover in 2019, so perhaps some of his hard work will get him back toward his four-turnover total from his 2018 rookie season.

All clear at practice
Edmunds (hip) was a full participant during Wednesday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Edmunds has been hampered by lingering hip soreness during training camp but seems well enough to practice. The hope is that the hip soreness won't cause the third-year pro to miss regular-season action, and, as of right now, it doesn't look like that will be the case.

Still limited
Edmunds was limited during Monday's practice session due to lingering hip soreness, Kimberly Jones of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Jones was told that the third-year linebacker would have played a full game had it been an NFL Sunday, so it's expected Edmunds will build up his reps as the week goes on.

Back to work
Edmunds (hip) returned to practice Sunday after sitting out the last couple of days, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: Linebacker is one of the few positions where the Bills lack major depth, but it sounds like their key middle man will be fine moving forward.

Sits out Friday's practice
Edmunds (hip) didn't participate in Friday's practice, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
Analysis: Edmunds is the centerpiece of last year's second-ranked defense, as he has piled up a combined 236 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 21 pass breakups over his first two seasons in the league. There's no real replacement for the 22-year-old's talents, but for the time being, Tyler Matakevich is next in line for first-team reps.

Back-to-back 100-tackle seasons
Edmunds posted 115 total tackles to go with 1.5 sacks, nine passes defensed and an interception in 2019.
Analysis: Edmunds is a true three-down linebacker, almost never leaving the field and possessing more size and athleticism than most middle linebackers in the league. He's a smart player with NFL bloodlines -- his father and two brothers have all played in the league -- but he still has a little bit to learn, as evidenced by the low turnover total and the fact that he was out of position on a key play in the team's playoff loss to the Texans. Nine tackles in loss
Edmunds posted nine tackles (five solo) in Saturday's 24-17 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: Edmunds has made at least seven stops in each of his past four games, but this was his largest output in that span. He'll try to finish the regular season with a strong Week 17 effort, though we'll note that the Bills already have the No. 5 seed locked, thus some key players might not play a full game in the finale.

Racks up another eight tackles
Edmunds recorded eight tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Edmunds is now up to 105 tackles on the season and has become a real strength of the Bills' top-5 scoring defense. The second-year linebacker continues to put up consistent tackle numbers and has proven to be effective in pass coverage as well with nine passes defensed on the season.

Nabs first INT of season
Edmunds recorded eight tackles (six solo), one defended pass and one interception during Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Edmunds intercepted a pass thrown by Lamar Jackson midway through the second quarter after the ball bounced out of Willie Snead's hands. The 2018 first-round pick once again showcased his remarkable versatility during the Week 14 loss. As a three-down linebacker with a steady floor as a run stopper and upside in coverage, Edmunds is a valuable fantasy asset in IDP formats.

Versatile in win
Edmunds tallied 12 tackles, 0.5 sacks and a pass breakup in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Dolphins.
Analysis: The second-year pro notched his first sack of the season last week, and he helped take down the quarterback again. Edmunds also matched his career high for tackles, as he produced an identical mark in Week 17 against the Dolphins last season. Being just 21 years old, Edmunds has an encouraging career trajectory, and he's already a steady IDP asset for fantasy purposes.

First sack of season
Edmunds recorded three tackles (one solo), a sack and a pass defensed across 70 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Browns.
Analysis: While Edmunds saw his lowest tackle count of the season Sunday, he also managed to record his first sack of the year, which gave the Bills a safety. He has played in 100 percent of the defensive snaps this season and will look to keep that trend going Sunday against the Dolphins.

Tackle volume continues
Edmunds had nine total tackles for the second straight week in Sunday's win over Washington.
Analysis: Edmunds continues to be a strong source of tackles as the middle defender in a strong defense, and a guy who almost never leaves the field. Although he's still looking for his first sack or interception -- with his athleticism, it's a surprise Edmunds hasn't show more in these two areas -- he's up to 61 tackles on the season and could end up posting 120-plus tackles in each his first two NFL campaigns.
