Returns to Rams' practice squad
The Rams signed Henderson to their practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: With Kyren Williams (ankle) poised to return from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game in Arizona, the Rams made two procedural moves Tuesday, waiving Henderson and cutting Cameron McCutcheon from the practice squad. One day later, Henderson is taking McCutcheon's spot on the practice squad and now is a candidate to be elevated for Week 12 action, which would mark his third and final elevation of the campaign.

Gets cut
The Rams waived Henderson on Tuesday.
Analysis: With Kyren Williams (ankle) poised to return from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game at Arizona, Henderson is getting cut to open up a spot on the Rams' active roster. At the same time, L.A. cut cornerback Cameron McCutcheon from its practice squad, seemingly freeing up a spot there for Henderson, assuming he clears waivers. With Williams out Weeks 7 through 10, Henderson started on all four occasions and totaled 215 yards from scrimmage with two rushing TDs on 56 touches.

Scores short TD on 10 touches
Henderson gained one yard and scored a rushing touchdown on six carries while catching four of seven targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 17-16 win over Seattle.
Analysis: Henderson teamed up with fellow veteran Royce Freeman (17-73-0) to replace injured starter Kyren Williams (ankle) on Sunday. Henderson was the beneficiary of the Rams' lone rushing touchdown from one yard out, but he was inefficient with most of his remaining touches. The 26-year-old saw his carries and efficiency as a runner decrease in each of his four weeks spent helping fill in as starter. The Rams are expecting Williams back against the Cardinals in Week 12, which would put Henderson's…read more

Gets 12 touches
Henderson rushed 10 times for 19 yards and caught both of his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Henderson struggled to make a meaningful impact as Los Angeles' offense was ineffective as a whole under quarterback Brett Rypien. Although he hasn't been very efficient since rejoining the Rams, Henderson and Royce Freeman figure to remain the team's top tailbacks as long as Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) are sidelined.

Joins active roster
The Rams signed Henderson off their practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: With Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) on injured reserve, Henderson and Royce Freeman have split the reps out of the Rams backfield the last two games. During that stretch, Henderson has turned 34 touches into 151 yards from scrimmage and one rushing score, while Freeman has had 21 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown himself. Expect the breakdown between Henderson and Freeman to continue for as long as Williams and Rivers are sidelined.

Returns to practice squad
Henderson reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction report.
Analysis: For the second straight game, Henderson and Royce Freeman split L.A.'s backfield reps with Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) on injured reserve. Henderson's 29 (of 62) offensive snaps translated to 15 touches for 85 yards from scrimmage, while Freeman's 33 plays went for nine carries for 44 yards and one touchdown. The Rams have one elevation remaining to use on Henderson, so expect him to rejoin the active roster for Sunday's visit to Green Bay.

Gets it done as pass catcher
Henderson rushed the ball 12 times for 31 yards in Sunday's 43-20 loss to Dallas. He added three catches for 54 yards.
Analysis: Henderson was out-produced on the ground by Royce Freeman, though he still had 15 touches compared to Freeman's nine. In particular, his work in the passing game stood out as he led the team in receiving yards. While that's unlikely to repeat itself, Henderson has shown multiple paths to fantasy value in two games since taking over as the lead back in the absence of Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee).

Elevated to active roster
Henderson was elevated to the Rams' active roster Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: No surprise here, as Henderson started at running back for Los Angeles in Week 7 before subsequently reverting to the practice squad. He ultimately saw 68 snaps and 19 touches en route to 66 yards from scrimmage and a rushing touchdown. With both Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) still on injured reserve, Henderson could be in line for a similar workload. Still, Royce Freeman, who got 16 carries for 66 yards on 29 snaps in the same game, figures to again be involved. It remains to…read more

Moves back to practice squad
Henderson reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: In less than one week, Henderson returned to the Rams via a practice-squad contract last Tuesday, was elevated to the active roster Saturday and started at running back for the team Sunday against the Steelers. He then paced L.A. running backs in snaps (39 of 68) and touches (19) en route to 66 yards from scrimmage and a rushing TD in Week 7. Paces new-look backfield
Henderson rushed the ball 18 times for 61 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Steelers. He added one reception for five yards.
Analysis: Henderson was the first back to get a carry in the Rams' backfield, and he led Royce Freeman in touches 19-12. His longest gain of the day went for 15 yards, and he also found the end zone midway through the fourth quarter on a one-yard plunge. With both Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) on injured reserve, Henderson should have the chance to maintain significant volume for at least the next three games.

Likely to share load with Freeman
Henderson and Royce Freeman are expected to get "the majority of the workload" out of the backfield in Sunday's game against the Steelers, a source tells Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Analysis: With lead back Kyren Williams (ankle) and top backup Ronnie Rivers (knee) both landing on injured reserve in recent days, the Rams backfield has taken on new form heading into Week 7. Rookie sixth-round pick Zach Evans is the lone healthy back who was active for last week's win over the Cardinals, but he looks like he'll have to settle for the No. 3 role Sunday after the Rams signed Freeman and Myles Gaskin to the 53-man roster and elevated Henderson from the practice squad. Joins active roster
The Rams elevated Henderson from their practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Analysis: Henderson's elevation becomes all the more vital for fantasy managers after Kyren Williams (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. Since Henderson rejoined the Rams on Tuesday after previously spending parts of the past four seasons with the franchise, head coach Sean McVay has given the running back plenty of praise. Coach says he's playing Week 7
Coach Sean McVay said Friday that Henderson will be active for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Adam Grosbard of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Henderson signed with the Rams' practice squad Tuesday following injuries to Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee). McVay said the team still is deciding whether to dress only three or all four of Henderson, Zach Evans, Royce Freeman and Myles Gaskin, but Henderson will be among the team's active running backs. Confirmation of Henderson's availability will be provided when the Rams either elevate him from the practice squad or sign him to the roster by Saturday afternoon.

Makes return to L.A.
The Rams signed Henderson to their practice squad Tuesday.
Analysis: With the Rams having traded Cam Akers to the Vikings earlier this season and the top two options on the backfield depth chart -- Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) -- both looking unlikely to be available in Week 7 versus the Steelers, the team will bring back a familiar face in Henderson. Working out in Indianapolis
The Colts worked out Henderson on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: It's an interesting development with Jonathan Taylor (ankle), Zack Moss (forearm) and Evan Hull (knee) all dealing with injuries. Henderson has managed a respectable 4.4 yards per carry in his career, so it would be understandable if Indianapolis viewed him as a worthwhile addition.

Henderson made a visit with the Cardinals on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Henderson is in search of his third team of the season, after having now been cut by both the Rams and the Jaguars. He could be a decent fit in Arizona, given the team's lack of established depth behind top back James Conner, who has handled offensive snap shares north of 90 percent in four of the past five games and could be in line for more rest over the final three weeks of the season now that the Cardinals have been eliminated from playoff contention. Analysis: Jacksonville scooped Henderson off the waiver wire after the Rams cut him in November, but he ultimately didn't play a single snap during his tenure with the Jaguars. Not on injury report
Henderson (illness) isn't listed Wednesday on the Jaguars' first Week 14 injury report.
Analysis: Henderson was inactive for this past Sunday's loss to the Lions, but he's now past the illness that had him listed as questionable ahead of the Week 13 contest. The running back is thus on track to make his Jaguars debut this weekend against the Titans, though it's unclear if Henderson will immediately unseat JaMycal Hasty for the top backup role behind lead option Travis Etienne.

Henderson (illness) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Lions.
Analysis: The 25-year-old received the questionable tag after he was absent from Friday's practice due to an illness, and he won't be suiting up for Sunday's contest. Henderson may have been inactive regardless of the ailment since Travis Etienne (foot) is available. JaMycal Hasty and Snoop Conner will operate as Jacksonville's backup tailbacks.

Henderson is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions after missing practice Friday due to an illness.
Analysis: Fellow running back Travis Etienne (foot) also is listed as questionable but trending toward active status after logging limited practices this week. Per Demetrius Harveyof the Florida Times-Union, coach Doug Pederson indicated that Henderson likely will be inactive on game day if Etienne is available, as the newcomer "continues to grow and learn the (Jaguars') offense." Not suiting up Sunday
Henderson (coach's decision) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Analysis: The 25-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Rams on Wednesday, but he won't suit up for the Jags after spending only a couple days with the team. Henderson should serve as the top backup to Travis Etienne once he's learned the offense, but JaMycal Hasty will remain in that role Sunday.

Not expected to play Sunday
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Henderson isn't in line to play Sunday against the Ravens, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
Analysis: The running back is still in the process of learning Jacksonville's offense, so he doesn't look like he'll debut with his new team until Week 13 against the Lions. On the plus side, Henderson, who dealt with a knee issue Week 11 before being waived by the Rams and claimed by the Jaguars -- doesn't appear on Jacksonville's injury report this week. Once he's up to speed with the playbook, Henderson should carve out a key complementary role behind top back Travis Etienne.

Claimed by Jags
The Jaguars claimed Henderson (knee) off waivers from the Rams on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Henderson, who was leading the Rams with 283 rushing yards through 10 games, was waived Tuesday, but he's quickly found a new landing spot. Per Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com, the running back dealt with a knee issue in Week 11, but by Monday he reportedly felt fine. Cut loose by Rams
The Rams waived Henderson (knee) on Tuesday.
Analysis: One day removed from coach Sean McVay explaining away Henderson's lack of usage during Sunday's loss at New Orleans as the product of a knee issue, the Rams may be moving on from the fourth-year pro. There's a chance this is simply a procedural move and the team will re-sign Henderson to the practice squad if he clears waivers, but any team can claim him by Wednesday's deadline, so he could find himself with a different organization in the near future.

Dealing with knee injury
Coach Sean McVay said Monday that Henderson "felt a little something in his knee" before Sunday's loss at New Orleans, which limited him to two carries and four offensive snaps, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Henderson started Sunday and handled the first two carries of the game, but he received no touches thereafter as rookie Kyren Williams and Cam Akers got the rest of the Rams' running back reps. Overall, Williams logged 35 of 64 plays on offense en route to eight touches for 44 yards from scrimmage, while Akers notched 25 snaps and 14 carries for 61 yards. Just two touches
Henderson rushed twice for nine yards in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Henderson was the tertiary rushing option out of the backfield on Sunday, with just four offensive snaps. With Cam Akers and Kyren Williams combining for 21 rushing attempts for 97 yards, Henderson appears to be the odd man out in this three-headed running back committee since Williams' return from an ankle injury. A Week 12 showdown with a Chiefs defense that has proven stingy against the run will make it even more difficult to trust the veteran running back.

Gets into end zone in loss
Henderson carried the ball six times for 21 yards and a touchdown and caught his only target for 11 yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Cardinals.
Analysis: The TD salvaged his day from a fantasy perspective, but the Rams' backfield featured a three-way split of the workload between Henderson, Cam Akers and Kyren Williams, and none of them saw more than seven touches. Without more volume, it will be tough for any of the trio to produce useful numbers on a consistent basis, making them all risky options in Week 11 against the Saints.

Leading rusher in Sunday's loss
Henderson carried the ball 12 times for 56 yards and failed to catch his only target in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: His numbers were modest, but Henderson was by far the most effective option in the Rams backfield as Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown combined for 12 yards on seven carries. With the team's offensive line struggling though, it will be tough for any Los Angeles RB to produce useful fantasy numbers, even in Week 10 against an Arizona defense that's allowed a 100-yard rusher in back-to-back games.

Just six touches in loss
Henderson (illness) rushed four times for 16 yards and hauled in both of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 31-14 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: Henderson was able to suit up after dealing with an illness during practice this week. The 25-year-old was expected to lead a depleted Rams backfield, but he finished with less touches than Ronnie Rivers (15) and just one more than Malcolm Brown (5/10/0). Analysis: Henderson was sick earlier in the week, missing practice Wednesday and returning as a limited participant Thursday. He turned in a full practice Friday, setting him up to lead the Rams backfield against a tough 49ers defense this Sunday. Analysis: One day removed from sitting out of drills entirely due to an illness, Henderson unsurprisingly returned to the field with a cap on his reps Thursday. With Cam Akers (personal) away from the team for the time being, a healthy and active Henderson is the Rams' top running back, but first he'll need to ditch his designation ahead of Sunday's game against the 49ers, which may happen as soon as the release of Friday's injury report.

Analysis: An injury to Henderson coming out of a bye week would be the latest interesting development in a Rams backfield that remains without Cam Akers (personal) and saw rookie Kyren Williams (ankle) designated to return from injured reserve earlier Wednesday. Finds end zone in win
Henderson carried the ball 12 times for 43 yards and a touchdown and caught two of three targets for nine yards in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: With Cam Akers (personal) seemingly on his way out of town, Henderson sits unchallenged at the top of the Rams' depth chart, but his first start as the clear No. 1 was unproductive until he punched in a two-yard score midway through the fourth quarter to ice the game. The team's offensive line issues will cap his upside, but Henderson should at least see steady touch volume on the other side of the Rams' Week 7 bye.

Henderson is expected to serve as the Rams' lead back Sunday against the Panthers with Cam Akers (personal) having been ruled out for the Week 6 game, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Head coach Sean McVay declined to go in specifics regarding why Akers didn't practice with the team Thursday or Friday, nor did McVay give a direct answer regarding Akers' status with the team moving forward. At least for Week 6, Akers' absence should pave the way for Henderson to handle a larger share of the backfield work after the latter had typically operated as a change-of-pace option while handling snap shares between 50 and 60 percent in each of the past three weeks. Henderson caught four of five targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Despite being on the field for nearly double the amount of snaps as Cam Akers on Sunday, Henderson only logged a single rushing attempt on the day, and that was negated by an offensive holding penalty on Ben Skowronek. The Rams used Henderson as a receiving back for the majority of his time on the field, and while the results weren't inspiring, Akers struggled as well, turning his 13 rushing attempts into a paltry 33 yards. Out-touches Akers 10-8 on MNF
Henderson rushed seven times for 27 yards and caught three of four targets for 12 yards in Monday's 24-9 loss to San Francisco.
Analysis: Cam Akers got the start but mustered just 13 scrimmage yards on eight carries and one target. Henderson rushed four times for 17 yards and failed to bring in his only target during Sunday's 20-12 victory against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Henderson's role in what looked to be a timeshare with Cam Akers diminished even further against Arizona, as while both players were on the field for 24 of the Rams' 48 offensive snaps, Akers received triple the amount of rushing touches and turned them into 61 yards and a touchdown. Clear lead back in Week 1 loss
Henderson rushed 13 times for 47 yards and secured all five targets for 26 yards in the Rams' 31-10 loss to the Bills on Thursday night.
Analysis: Henderson out-touched backfield Cam Akers by an 18-3 margin, and he managed to cobble together a serviceable fantasy effort overall despite not finding the end zone. Henderson's night on the ground was even tougher than his 3.6 yards per carry implies, as he gained 18 of his yards on one rush attempt. Analysis: As did Cam Akers (undisclosed), which puts the Rams' top two backs in line to be a go for the team's Week 1 game against the Bills. Coach Sean McVay said Henderson (undisclosed) put in a full-speed workout Saturday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Meanwhile, McVay added fellow running back Cam Akers (undisclosed) "wasn't able to do that quite yet." Return to practice TBD
Coach Sean McVay acknowledged Monday that he doesn't have a timeline for when Henderson (soft-tissue injury) can return to practice, noting "it could be anywhere between two days, one day, a week," Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The same applies to fellow RB Cam Akers, but given McVay's initial estimate, it sounds like neither player's issue is viewed as a long term one, with the Rams simply preferring to play it safe at this stage of the preseason. As long as Akers and/or Henderson are sidelined, added practice reps will be available for Kyren Williams and Jake Funk.

Set to miss practice time
Henderson is dealing with a "soft tissue" injury and is slated to miss some practice time, according to coach Sean McVay, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The same goes for Cam Akers, with McVay noting that neither of the Rams' top two RBs will practice until they can work at "full speed" in team drills. In the meantime, Kyren Williams and Jake Funk are in line to see added practice reps, as they did Monday, per Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic.

Still getting work with starters
Henderson and Cam Akers have been rotating through the first-team offense, ESPN.com's Sarah Barshop reports.
Analysis: Akers, a 2020 second-round pick, is expected to take back the lead role after a strong finish to his rookie season was followed by an Achilles tear last summer. However, he struggled when he returned for the playoffs, which could leave an opening for Henderson if Akers still hasn't regained his explosiveness. If nothing else, Henderson seems to be secure in the No. 2 role given that the depth chart behind him holds only late-round picks and undrafted young players. Rookie fifth-rounder Kyren…read more

Impact as receiver in SB LVI win
Henderson rushed four times for seven yards and brought in three of five targets for 43 yards during the Rams' 23-20 win over the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday.
Analysis: Activated from injured reserve on Friday after last having played in Week 16, Henderson still was the clear complementary option to lead back Cam Akers in terms of rushing volume. However, the third-year back made an appreciable impact as a receiver, particularly on his catches of 25 and 15 yards in the second and third quarters, respectively. Henderson's knee should be back to full strength early in the offseason if it isn't already, and he and Akers could have quite the competition for the…read more

Removed from IR
The Rams activated Henderson (knee) from injured reserve Friday.
Analysis: Coach Sean McVay hinted Monday that Henderson would be ready, with the running back coming up on seven weeks removed from suffering an MCL sprain Week 16 against Minnesota (Dec. 26). His standing in the backfield has changed quite a bit since earlier this season, but the Rams could nonetheless try to find him some touches in the Super Bowl, given that both Cam Akers and Sony Michel have struggled to find running room so far this postseason, producing 2.8 YPC and 3.3 YPC, respectively. Should return for Super Bowl
Coach Sean McVay said Monday that Henderson (knee) has a "good chance" to return for the Super Bowl against Cincinnati on Sunday, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Analysis: Henderson last played Week 16, when he suffered an MCL sprain in a win over the Vikings. The Rams got a late-season burst from backup RB Sony Michel and now have Cam Akers back in the lineup as well, but it's possible Henderson gets some touches this Sunday if his knee checks out in practice.

Still on injured reserve
The Rams didn't activate Henderson (knee) from injured reserve in advance of Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the 49ers.
Analysis: Designated to return from IR on Jan. 21, Henderson has had two chances to return to the active roster -- also, the Rams' divisional-round win at Tampa Bay -- but he's not yet past the MCL sprain in his right knee that he suffered Week 16 at Minnesota. L.A. will continue to lean on Cam Akers and Sony Michel out of the backfield with a Super Bowl berth on the line.

Won't play this week
Henderson (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve Friday but won't be available for Sunday's game in Tampa Bay, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official website report.

Designated for IR return
The Rams designated Henderson (knee) to returned from injured reserve Friday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: This allows Henderson to return to practice, though he won't necessarily be available Sunday against the Bucs, with Rams coach Sean McVay suggesting earlier in the week that he didn't expect any of his players on injured reserve to be "part of the conversation" for the divisional round, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Even if that's changed, Henderson may only be the No. 3 back at this point, after Cam Akers and Sony Michel split work in the team's wild-card win over Arizona.

Henderson (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Analysis: Henderson sustained an MCL sprain in his right knee this past Sunday in Minnesota that will now require him to sit out three games before he can return to the active roster. His next potential appearances depends on the Rams' eventual seed, but in the meantime Sony Michel is expected to be the team's lead running back. Coach Sean McVay relayed Monday that the Rams plan to place Henderson on IR due to an MCL injury, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com and Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic report.
Analysis: The running back is dealing with an MCL sprain and presumably will target a potential return to action during the postseason. In his looming IR stint -- which should be made official in the coming days -- Sony Michel is poised to head the Rams' backfield, while McVay noted that it's possible Cam Akers could see playing time as early as this weekend's game against the Ravens.

Hurts knee Sunday
Henderson won't return to Sunday's contest at Minnesota due to a knee injury.
Analysis: Henderson was shaken up after his only touch of the game (a 17-yard carry) and now won't contributed to the Rams offense again Week 16. At the time the injury was announced, Sony Michel had taken the bulk of the RBs reps for the team, with 19 carries for 111 yards and one touchdown and one catch (on four targets) for four yards.

Gets eight touches in return
Henderson (COVID-19 protocols) rushed six times for 23 yards and caught both of his targets for four yards in Tuesday's 20-10 win over Seattle.
Analysis: Henderson returned from a two-game absence due to a thigh injury as well as COVID-19 protocols to find out he was no longer the clear lead back for the Rams. Head coach Sean McVay stated before the contest that he would deploy a timeshare between the 23-year-old and veteran Sony Michel, who performed well as the fill-in starter over the last two weeks. Could be part of timeshare
Rams head coach Sean McVay hinted that Henderson may be deployed as part of a timeshare out of the backfield with Sony Michel during Tuesday's game against the Seahawks, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports. "We'll use them both. Sony has done a great job these last couple weeks. We know how reliable Darrell is," McVay said. "So, both of these guys, if they're both up and available, we'll utilize both those guys. As far as the starter, who gets more, it'll be a feel for the flow of the game. I look at it as like we have two starting backs."
Analysis: McVay has largely eschewed a timeshare arrangement this season, as Henderson has played no fewer than 59 percent of the offensive snaps in any of his 10 appearances, while Michel has logged at least 73 percent of the snaps in each of the three games that Henderson has missed. However, after Michel averaged a solid 4.5 yards per carry over the past two games while Henderson was out Week 13 with a thigh injury and Week 14 due to a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list, McVay could be more inclined…read more

Comes off COVID-19 list
The Rams activated Henderson (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday.
Analysis: Prior to being placed on the reserve list last Saturday, Henderson was tending to a thigh injury, so his status for Tuesday's rescheduled game versus the Seahawks still could be up in the air. However, assuming he puts an end to a two-game absence, he could retake the reins of the Rams backfield, which has amounted to 16.9 touches per game in his 10 appearances this season. Rams-Seahawks moved to Tuesday
Henderson (illness) and the Rams will no longer play the Seahawks on Sunday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
Analysis: Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within the Rams organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, Los Angeles will be able to restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. Looks iffy for Sunday's game
Henderson, who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, plans to test out his injured thigh in a warmup prior to the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, but the Rams aren't optimistic the running back will play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Even if Henderson does suit up, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggests that Los Angeles' top back may not have a full workload in the contest. If that's the case, Sony Michel could be in store for a sizable workload on the ground, particularly if the Rams are able to establish an early lead against the 2-9 Jaguars. Henderson emerged from Sunday's loss in Green Bay with a quadriceps injury, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Coach Sean McVay relayed Monday that Henderson could be "limited" in practice this week as a result, but the injury shouldn't be a long-term issue. While Henderson was seen getting his quad wrapped Sunday, he paced the Rams backfield with 20 touches for 73 yards from scrimmage and one TD on an 81 percent share of the offensive snaps. With no reported setbacks in the contest, we'll operate under the assumption that Henderson's listed limitations imply that his reps would have been managed had the Rams, who play Seattle on Thursday, actually practiced Monday.

Tops 100 scrimmage yards in loss
Henderson carried the ball 14 times for 89 yards and caught five of six targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Cardinals.
Analysis: Sony Michel committed an early fumble and wound up seeing only three carries on the afternoon, but Henderson's performance likely would have led to him dominating backfield touches for the Rams anyway. After missing last week's contest with a rib issue, he looked 100 percent healthy and secure in the lead role heading into a Week 5 tilt against the Seahawks.

Listed as active Sunday
Henderson (rib) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Henderson is back in the mix after missing last week's win over the Buccaneers, in which fellow RB Sony Michel logged 23 touches for 79 yards on a 74-percent snap share, while backup Jake Funk was given just one carry. It's unclear if Henderson will revert to his early-season volume in his return to action, but it's worth noting that he played 94 percent of snaps Week 1 and was on track for a similar load in Week 2 before he suffered his rib injury. Even if he cedes work to Michel in Week 4,…read more

Listed as questionable, should play
Henderson (rib) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Arizona, though head coach Sean McVay expects the running back to play after he logged a full practice Friday without any setbacks, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Henderson looks like he'll end up missing just the one game, which happened to be a nightmare matchup against Tampa Bay's stellar run defense last week. Sony Michel took 23 touches for 79 yards on a 74-percent snap share in that contest, while backup Jake Funk was given just a lone carry. It's unclear if Henderson will return to an every-down role; he played 94 percent of snaps Week 1 and was on track for about the same in Week 2 until he sustained a rib-cartilage injury. Henderson (ribs) logged a limited practice Thursday.
Analysis: Prior to Thursday's session, Henderson was spotted stretching and warming up with his teammates, per Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic. Henderson appeared to be more active than he was Wednesday, when he worked on the side with the training staff, but he still had a cap on his reps. He'll look to get all the way back to full to wrap up Week 4 prep Friday, but it remains unclear if he'll put his rib cartilage injury behind him in advance of Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Once the Rams took the practice field, however, Henderson was seen working with a Rams trainer on the side, per Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News. Working on side Wednesday
Henderson (ribs) worked on the side with a member of the Rams' training staff during the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Analysis: That's not to say Henderson won't eventually get on the field, especially after he participated in a walk-through earlier Wednesday. After the walk-through, head coach Sean McVay told Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com that "the expectation and anticipation is that [Henderson will] play [Sunday against the Cardinals], but not 100 percent sure." The Rams will reveal if Henderson was a non-participant or limited when they release their first Week 4 injury report later Wednesday.

Making progress
Coach Sean McVay said Monday that Henderson is making progress in his recovery from a rib cartilage injury, and he's "hopeful" the running back will be available Sunday against the Cardinals, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Henderson didn't practice at all during Week 3 prep before sitting out this past Sunday, so the first step for him will be to get back on the practice field. Against the Buccaneers, Sony Michel played 74 percent of the snaps on offense while rookie Jake Funk got 22 percent. The resulting touch counts were 23 for Michel (79 yards from scrimmage) and one for Funk (a six-yard run). A similar breakdown in Week 4 is likely if Henderson is unable to make it back.

Inactive against Buccaneers
Henderson (ribs) is inactive Sunday against the Buccaneers, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Henderson failed to practice all week after suffering his rib injury in the Rams' Week 2 win over the Colts, foreshadowing a likely absence that's now been confirmed. Sony Michel, who gained 46 yards on 10 carries in Henderson's stead versus Indianapolis, and Jake Funk will handle primary backfield duties against the stingy Buccaneers front seven, while practice squad call-up Buddy Howell will also be on hand to rotate in as needed.

Questionable for Sunday
Henderson (ribs) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Rams coach Sean McVay expects his starting running back to be a game-time decision, despite being held out of practice Wednesday through Friday. Possible outcomes ahead of the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff include an inactive designation or a limited/shared workload, though it's also possible Henderson can handle the lead role if he finds a way to manage the pain from his rib cartilage injury. Likely game-time decision
Coach Sean McVay expects Henderson (ribs) to be a game-time decision, with his availability for Sunday's matchup with the Bucs largely coming down to pain tolerance, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: If he does end up playing, Henderson will be at obvious risk for an in-game setback. Either way, Sony Michel figures to have a role, be it as the starter or off the bench. Henderson played 94 percent of snaps in a Week 1 win over Chicago, and he was on track for a similarly large share Week 2 before a rib injury knocked him out of the win over Indy. Henderson's injury was described as a rib cartilage issue by coach Sean McVay on Monday, but the Rams are optimistic the running back will be able to practice this week, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It sounds as if Henderson will be given a few days off before seeing if he can practice, but he may need to get back on the field by Friday to put himself in a position to play Sunday against the Buccaneers. Injures ribs Sunday
Henderson sustained a rib injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday's contest at Indianapolis.
Analysis: Henderson remained on the turf for a bit following a carry on the first play of the fourth quarter. He was able to walk off the field with Rams trainers, but if he doesn't return, he'll end Week 2 with 13 carries for 53 yards and one TD and three catches (on five targets) for 29 yards. Henderson is expected to remain the Rams' featured back Sunday against the Colts after playing 94 percent of the team's offensive snaps in the season opener, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Coach Sean McVay gave no indication that backup Sony Michel is going to usurp a larger portion of the backfield workload going forward, dispelling the idea that the balance would shift once Michel became more familiar with the Rams' playbook. Dominates touches in victory
Henderson rushed 16 times for 70 yards and a touchdown and caught his lone target for 17 yards in Sunday's 34-14 win over the Bears.
Analysis: Henderson started as expected following Cam Akers' (Achilles) season-ending injury this past offseason. The 24-year-old flourished in the role, showing an ability to pick up chunks of yards both between and outside of the tackles. Newcomer Sony Michel received only one carry late in the fourth quarter, so it appears that Henderson is the feature back for a potent Rams offense going forward, making him an appealing option against the Colts next Sunday.

Still ticketed for lead role
Coach Sean McVay said Henderson (thumb) is "still going to have a very big role" after the Rams traded for Sony Michel, Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: McVay says the recent trade "doesn't really change the outlook" for Henderson, who still seems on track for the Week 1 start and lead role. That part may still be the same, but it's never good for a running back's fantasy outlook when his team adds more talent at the position, even at the mere cost of conditional late-round picks. Eyeing three-down role?
Coach Sean McVay believes Henderson (undisclosed) is an every-down back, noting that durability is the concern, not talent, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: A split workload would be one way to help Henderson stay healthy now that Cam Akers (Achilles) is out for the season, but a three-down role also is possible, especially if the Rams more or less stick with their current group of young, unproven running backs. He should've had plenty of time to make a full recovery during the offseason, but it's nonetheless possible his limitations at practice are related to the same issue. It now appears as though Henderson's ankle issue could be significant, and with No. 1 running back Cam Akers already sidelined due to the same injury, Los Angeles' backfield could be severely lacking in depth Week 17. More opportunities on tap Week 16
Head coach Sean McVay said both Henderson and Malcolm Brown will be "heavily involved" in the Rams' game plan Sunday in Seattle with top back Cam Akers (ankle) ruled out for the contest, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports. "I mean they'll both get work," McVay said of Henderson and Brown. "As far as the specifics, I'm not really sure. We're just getting into the initial parts of the game plan."
Analysis: Before Akers emerged as the team's clear top back over the past three games, the lead option out of the Los Angeles backfield had been a difficult one to predict in any given week. Expect that to be the case this weekend, as McVay was unwilling to anoint either Henderson or Brown as the No. 1 option, nor was he willing to divulge how the work may be divvied up between the two. Finds end zone in win
Henderson carried the ball seven times for 28 yards and a touchdown and caught his only target for five yards in Sunday's 23-16 win over the Seahawks.
Analysis: The Rams deployed a true backfield committee in this one, as Cam Akers wound up with 10 touches and Malcolm Brown eight, but Henderson was able to salvage his fantasy day with a seven-yard TD run in the first quarter. All three backs could struggle to post useful numbers if that workload split continues in Week 11 on the road against a very stingy Buccaneers run defense.

Cleared for Sunday
Henderson (quad) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Analysis: Coming out of a bye week, Henderson logged back-to-back limited practices before upgrading to full participation Friday. He figures to handle his usual role as the lead ballcarrier, facing a Seattle defense that's struggled against the pass all season while allowing only 3.7 yards per carry on the ground.

Officially limited Thursday
Henderson (quad) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Analysis: Henderson has now logged back-to-back limited practices coming off a Week 9 bye, but according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, coach Sean McVay fully expects the second-year running back to suit up versus Seattle on Sunday. If Henderson's injury limits him in any capacity Sunday, however, Malcolm Brown and Cam Akers would be candidates to see increased touches.

Returns to practice Thursday
Coach Sean McVay said Henderson (quadriceps) will practice Thursday and is expected to suit up Sunday against the Seahawks, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: When Henderson left the Rams' last game Nov. 1 in Miami, he was deemed to be dealing with a thigh injury. After the team's ensuing Week 9 bye, though, the Rams are calling it a quad issue. In any case, after not practicing Wednesday, Henderson is back on the field Thursday with an eye toward being available this weekend. If he's able to avoid an absence, he likely will lead a backfield that also includes Malcolm Brown and Cam Akers.

No practice reps Wednesday
Henderson (thigh/quadriceps) won't participate in Wednesday's practice, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Despite having the benefit of the Rams being on bye Week 9, Henderson continues to tend to the thigh and quad injuries that forced him out of the team's Nov. 1 loss to the Dolphins. Consequently, his status should be monitored closely as the week goes on to get a sense of his potential to suit up Sunday against the Seahawks. If he's unable to go, Henderson will yield backfield work to some combination of Malcolm Brown and Cam Akers.

Injury not serious
Henderson (thigh) is not expected to miss any time after a thigh injury forced him to leave Sunday's loss to the Dolphins early, Stu Jackson of the team's official website reports.
Analysis: Coach Sean McVay indicated Monday that Henderson's thigh injury "is good," and he does not anticipate it impacting his availability for Week 10 following the team's bye. After his exit, Malcolm Brown and rookie Cam Akers handled backfield duties. Barring any setbacks, the second-year running back looks on track to take on his usual workload on Sunday, Nov. 15 against the Seahawks.

Exits with thigh injury
Henderson was forced out of Sunday's game versus the Dolphins with a thigh injury, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Henderson appeared to have suffered the injury in the second quarter. Before his exit, Henderson rushed eight times for 47 yards and brought in on of two targets for 11 yards.

Garners 15 carries
Henderson rushed 15 times for 64 yards and caught both of his targets for 13 yards in Monday night's 24-10 win over the Bears.
Analysis: Henderson did most of his damage on a third-quarter touchdown series in which he totaled 32 yards on three touches. That came after teammate Malcolm Brown put Los Angeles in the end zone with a one-yard touchdown rush to cap the drive prior. Brown gained 57 yards on his 10 carries, so Henderson still paced his team on the ground overall. All set for Monday
Henderson (thigh) does not carry an injury designation into Monday's contest against the Bears, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Confirming what was reported by coach Sean McVay on Friday, Henderson is full go for a prime-time matchup against the Bears on Monday. While Chicago's defense has the reputation of a fearsome unit, Mike Davis' 52 rushing yards last week was actually the lowest rushing total allowed to a starting running back by the Bears since Week 2. Of course, the ever-present potential of Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown could complicate matters for Henderson, especially if he were to get off to a slow start…read more

Coach Sean McVay expects Henderson (thigh) to play in Sunday's game against the Bears, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Henderson rushed 14 times for 88 yards in Sunday's 24-16 loss to San Francisco.
Analysis: Henderson led the Rams backfield in touches for the second consecutive week despite mid-week rumblings of the Rams looking to get other backs more involved after he averaged just 2.5 YPC over the last two weeks. Pair of scores in Week 5 win
Henderson rushed 15 times for 38 yards and a touchdown and brought in three of four targets for 30 yards and another score in the Rams' 30-10 win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday.
Analysis: The second-year pro paced the backfield in rushing touches, but he saw rookie teammate Cam Akers lead the way with 61 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Henderson managed a long run of just seven yards and averaged under 3.0 yards per carry for the second straight game and third overall this season. Vanishing act in Week 4
Henderson carried the ball eight times for 22 yards and caught his only target for 16 yards in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Giants.
Analysis: There was no indication after the game that Henderson had suffered any kind of injury, but despite piling up 241 scrimmage yards and two TDs over the last two weeks, the second-year RB suddenly took a back seat to Malcolm Brown. The Rams' backfield remains volatile even before factoring in the potential return of Cam Akers (ribs), but there could be enough production to go around in Week 5 against a Washington defense that's given up multiple rushing TDs in three straight games.

Workhorse in high-scoring loss

Analysis: Henderson operated as the lead back with Cam Akers (ribs) sidelined, getting 20 carries to Malcolm Brown's seven. His one-yard touchdown with 4:30 left completed Los Angeles' remarkable turnaround from down 28-3 to up 32-28, but Buffalo responded with a game-winning touchdown drive aided by a controversial fourth-down pass interference penalty. Headed for big workload?
Henderson's teammate Cam Akers (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Buffalo, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Henderson enjoyed a breakout performance last week, picking up 121 yards and a touchdown after Akers' departure early in the first quarter of an eventual 37-19 win over the Eagles. The rookie started the past two weeks, and Malcolm Brown leads the team with 29 carries, but Henderson could be the top guy for Week 3 at Buffalo. Leads backfield in Week 2 victory
Henderson rushed 12 times for 81 yards and a touchdown, adding two receptions for 40 yards in the Rams' 37-19 win over the Eagles on Sunday.
Analysis: After seeing just three touches in Week 1, Henderson led the backfield in Week 2 after Cam Akers was forced out of the game with a ribs injury. Akers' timetable to return is unclear, but it's likely Henderson continues to see his role grow after this electric performance. Plays sparingly in opener
Henderson rushed three times for six yards and played only five offensive snaps during Sunday's 20-17 win over Dallas.
Analysis: After missing a lot of time during training camp with a hamstring injury, it wasn't surprising to see Henderson watch most of Sunday's game from the sidelines. Furthermore, it's tough to positively spin his fantasy outlook for the immediate future. He's expected to work in a backfield committee with Malcolm Brown and Cam Akers, both of whom saw more reps in training camp. Trending in right direction
Head coach Sean McVay is optimistic that Henderson (hamstring) will be ready for Sunday's game versus the Cowboys, J.B. Long of the Los Angeles Rams Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Henderson has been running on the side during practice but has yet to participate since being diagnosed with a low-grade hamstring strain on Aug. 22. Having missed over two weeks of practice, he likely doesn't have enough time to win the starting job before Sunday's primetime showdown. Coach Sean McVay said Henderson (hamstring) is trending in a positive direction, but it's unclear if he'll be healthy enough to play in the Rams' season opener Sept. 13 against the Cowboys, Sarina Morales of the Rams' official site reports.
Analysis: Henderson was putting together an impressive camp until two weeks ago, when he limped off the field. Initially, the issue was termed a soft-tissue injury, but it was later confirmed to be a low-grade hamstring strain. While Henderson hasn't returned to practice yet, he has worked out on the side a number of times and even ran a few routes after Saturday's session. Analysis: Henderson hasn't progressed beyond rehab work since he initially injured his hamstring Aug. 23, but there still appears to be optimism that he'll be on the field for the season opener Sept. 13 against Dallas. If he's indeed able to go Week 1, Henderson stands to mix into a backfield committee alongside Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown. Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday that Henderson (hamstring) isn't ready to return to practice, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Henderson has been limited to working out on the side since tweaking his hamstring just over a week ago, but McVay remains unwilling to rule the second-year back out for the Sept. 13 season opener versus the Cowboys. Henderson (hamstring) was spotted doing some work off to the side Wednesday with members of the Rams' training staff, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The same applies to safety Taylor Rapp (knee), with coach Sean McVay noting afterward that the duo's activity Wednesday was "a step in the right direction" for both. Per Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, McVay said he expects Henderson back by the Rams' season opener. If that's the case, the 2019 third-rounder figures to be part of a backfield committee arrangement that could tilt in rookie Cam Akers' direction out of the gate.

Appears on track for Week 1
Henderson sustained a low-grade hamstring strain during the Rams' scrimmage Saturday, but the team is optimistic he'll be ready to go for the Sept. 13 season opener versus the Cowboys, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: In a similar vein, coach Sean McVay downplayed the severity of Henderson's injury when asked about the matter Sunday, so the second-year back looks like he'll miss minimal game action, if any. That said, Henderson's role heading into Week 1 had yet to be solidified before he suffered the injury, so the missed reps in practice could result in him losing work to healthier options like Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown in the early portion of the season.

While there weren't a lot of opportunities for Henderson in 2019 with Todd Gurley playing 807 offensive snaps, the 2019 third-round selection struggled to acclimatize himself at the highest level and suffered a season-ending, high-ankle sprain in December. Analysis: The 22-year-old missed the regular-season finale with a high-ankle sprain and underwent surgery in late December, but the procedure won't impact his availability for the start of the 2020 campaign. As a rookie in 2019, Henderson rushed 39 times for 147 yards and caught four passes for 37 yards, but the departure of Todd Gurley leaves a significant void in the backfield. While the addition of Akers to the depth chart does add competition for the sophomore and 26-year-old veteran Malcolm Brown, Henderson's draft pedigree and big-play upside should enable him to carve out a meaningful role in the offense. Likely leader of committee?
Rams GM Les Snead envisions Henderson (ankle) operating as part of a multi-player backfield, Greg Beacham of The Associated Press reports. "What we want to be is a team that utilizes more than just one workhorse running the ball," Snead said. "We have this big-picture vision, Darrell (Henderson) being a part of it, but we do expect other pieces to be a big part of it as well."
Analysis: The Rams leaned on Todd Gurley as a three-down workhorse for the better part of the past three seasons, including in 2019 when his production drastically declined. With Gurley released last month and now signed by Atlanta, the Rams are preparing for a new reality in the backfield, where Henderson and Malcolm Brown currently stand as the top options. Shows well in garbage time
Henderson rushed four times for 17 yards during Sunday's 34-7 win over Arizona. He played just seven of 79 offensive snaps.
Analysis: Henderson didn't see the field until the middle of the fourth quarter, so while rushing for 4.3 yards per tote is encouraging, he might not have played if the game wasn't already clinched. The rookie has flashed game-breaking talent and tremendous fantasy upside, but he's not receiving the playing time to make a difference in the fake game. Left out of offensive plans
Henderson played three offensive snaps and didn't receive a touch in Sunday's 17-7 win over the Bears.
Analysis: Todd Gurley looked healthy with a whopping 25 carries and three receptions while Malcolm Brown recorded five rushes. With his lowest snap count since Week 5, Henderson was clearly absent from the Rams' offensive plans besides for injury insurance. Bottled up by Steelers
Henderson rushed four times for just four yards during Sunday's 17-12 loss to Pittsburgh.
Analysis: This was a disappointing showing from the rookie, who was coming off his best game of the season (49 rushing yards and 20 receiving yards) against Cincinnati in Week 8, but the return of Malcolm Brown resulted in a split of the touches that didn't go to Todd Gurley. Henderson has flashed upside, and with the Los Angeles offense sputtering, finding ways to get the ball in his hands would seem logical. However, he remains an unreliable fantasy asset as long as Gurley is healthy.
