Modest Year 2
After a promising rookie season, Slayton put up a modest 96-50-751-3 line in 16 games.
Analysis: Slayton's yards per target dropped from 8.8 in 2019 to 7.8 in 2020, and he made fewer big plays despite an extra 12 targets. He also dropped five passes after not dropping a single one as a rookie. Slayton is still the Giants' best deep threat, and he should be more productive if the offensive line gives Daniel Jones -- or whoever is under center in 2021 -- more time to look down the field.

Inefficient with eight targets
Slayton caught two of eight targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Slayton finished with at least seven targets for the ninth time this season, but he recorded a measly 3.25 yards per target in this contest as he and Daniel Jones failed to connect on a consistent basis. He'll look to finish the season strong next week against the Cowboys, whom he put up an 8-129-0 line against in Week 5.

Leads team in receiving
Slayton had four receptions (nine targets) for 74 yards in Sunday's 20-6 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Slayton continues to lead the Giants in targets despite the recent return of Sterling Shepard. The 2019 fifth-round pick has seen his production come to a screeching halt after a solid start to his sophomore campaign due to the recent drop-off in quarterback play. Colt McCoy is a decent veteran backup, but he lacks physical skills and is not going to light up the stat sheet. Despite generating his first relevant fantasy line in recent weeks, Slayton is going to need Daniel Jones (hamstring) to…read more

Team-high eight targets in Week 14
Slayton caught three of eight targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 26-7 loss to the Cardinals.
Analysis: Slayton was the most frequent target for quarterback Daniel Jones, as no other Giant had more than five passes thrown his way. Despite all that volume, Slayton finished third on the team in receiving yards. This was a step in the right direction after Slayton caught just one pass for 14 yards over the previous two games, and the explosive receiver will look to build on this effort in Week 15 against the Browns.

Dismal production against Seattle
Slayton caught his lone target for 14 yards in Sunday's 17-12 win over the Seahawks.
Analysis: The Giants defense won this game for the team, as quarterback Colt McCoy couldn't get anything going Sunday and finished with just 105 passing yards. Golden Tate and Evan Engram were the only pass catchers to record more than one reception, and neither player surpassed 32 receiving yards. Slayton thrives off the deep ball, and there's no recent evidence that McCoy can make those throws. It should be a favorable Week 14 matchup against the Cardinals, and Daniel Jones (hamstring) could be back in…read more

Cleared for Week 13
Slayton (shoulder/foot) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Slayton and Sterling Shepard (toe/shoulder) were both limited in practices Wednesday through Friday while they battled a pair of injuries apiece, but neither wideout will end up taking a designation into the weekend. With that in mind, Slayton looks poised to play a normal allotment of snaps, but the second-year player has been a risky fantasy option this season, turning in three games with 90-plus yards and three with 25 yards or fewer. Moreover, Colt McCoy is expected to step in at…read more

Gets in limited practice
Slayton (shoulder/foot) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Slayton has yet to log a full session this week as he deals with shoulder and foot injuries. Still, there's been no indication that his status is threatened for Sunday's contest at Seattle, which may be confirmed as soon as the release of Friday's practice report.

Limited at practice
Slayton (shoulder/foot) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Slayton is listed with the two injuries that he's tended to at times this season, meaning his lack of full practice reps may be maintenance-related. Despite logging a significant snap count in most games this season, his production has been sporadic, with just two outings of 50-plus yards over the last six games and just one touchdown in 10 appearances since Week 1.

No catches in win over Bengals
Slayton failed to haul in either of his targets Sunday against the Bengals.
Analysis: Daniel Jones (hamstring) narrowly missed Slayton on a deep throw just off his fingertips that might have gone for a touchdown had he hung on. Once Jones got hurt, there was little chance for Slayton to make an impact playing with backup Colt McCoy. Slayton has a great matchup Week 13 in Seattle, but if Jones can't go, Slayton makes for a risky start with McCoy under center.

Provides big plays
Slayton recorded five receptions on seven targets for 93 yards in Week 10 against the Eagles.
Analysis: Slayton made an immediate impact for the Giants, recording a 22-yard reception on the second play of the game. He was then forced off the field due to a shoulder injury but returned to provide explosive gains of 16 and 40 yards to help clinch a victory in the fourth quarter. Slayton now has eight receptions of greater than 20 yards and two for 40 or more yards on the season. Even with the splash play ability, Slayton has been a boom or bust option, surpassing 90 yards in three contests but…read more

Returns to action
Slayton, who had been forced out of Sunday's game against the Eagles due to a shoulder injury, was able to return to the contest, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Slayton thus rejoins the Giants' Week 10 wide receiver corps, which also includes Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate and Austin Mack.

Hurts shoulder Sunday
Slayton left Sunday's game versus the Eagles due to a shoulder injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: After landing on his left arm at the end of a 22-yard catch on the first drive of the contest, Slayton went to the sideline and soon after to the locker room. He was deemed questionable to return, but in the meantime, Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate and Evan Engram will be the Giants' primary pass catchers.

Leaves Sunday's game
Slayton (undisclosed) went to the locker room during the first possession of Sunday's game against the Eagles, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Slayton landed on his left arm while making a 22-yard catch and immediately left the field. The nature and extent of the injury are unknown, but Stapleton implied Slayton may be getting X-rays.

Bottoms out against Washington
Slayton caught his lone target for six yards and added a two-yard carry in Sunday's 23-20 win over Washington.
Analysis: Perhaps with Golden Tate (coach's decision) benched, Washington was able to key in on shutting down Slayton, allowing Daniel Jones to target 10 other pass catchers. Nevertheless, it's disappointing that the second-year wide receiver finished with season lows in receptions, receiving yards and targets. Slayton always has big-play potential and could be the best wideout on the team, but he's otherwise a replacement-level fantasy asset in games where he doesn't score a touchdown, averaging 2.7…read more

Catches five passes
Slayton caught five of nine targets for 56 yards in Monday night's 25-23 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Slayton made a great fourth-down reception to extend New York's final offensive drive, but his night was otherwise marred by failed deep connections with Daniel Jones. The speedster never got on the same page as his quarterback, missing a few big-play opportunities in the process. Despite those disappointments, Slayton still trailed only Sterling Shepard in receptions while nearly hitting double digits in targets. That involvement bodes well ahead of Week 9's matchup against Washington.

Quiet in loss to Eagles
Slayton caught two of four targets for 23 yards Thursday in the Giants' 22-21 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Slayton's practice activity heading into the contest was limited to due a foot issue, but being shadowed by top Eagles corner Darius Slay for most of the night likely hindered the wideout's production more than the injury. In addition, the return of Sterling Shepard (toe) from a four-game layoff left fewer looks available for Slayton, who had averaged 7.2 targets per game during the former's absence. Slayton's fantasy outlook won't be any rosier in the Giants' next game on Nov. 2, when he'll be…read more

Ready for Thursday
Slayton (foot) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game at Philadelphia, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: For the second week in a row, Slayton's practice reps were capped due to a foot injury, but the issue won't affect his ability to suit up for game day. Facing Washington last week, Slayton managed a typical workload (83 percent of the offensive snaps) while totaling two catches (on four targets) for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Limited again Tuesday
Slayton (foot) was listed as limited on Tuesday's practice estimate, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Slayton maintained his listing in the first two days of the week, but the Giants actually held a walkthrough Tuesday, which may indicate the second-year wideout is attempting to gut out a foot injury. He played through the concern this past Sunday against Washington, tallying a season-low two catches for 41 yards. Fortunately for Slayton, he salvaged his stat line with a 23-yard TD. Listed as limited participant
Slayton (foot) is listed as limited on Monday's estimated injury report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Slayton was officially listed as questionable for Sunday's win over Washington, but he managed to play through his foot injury while corralling two of four targets for 41 yards and a score. The second-year pro did see his lowest snap share (83 percent) and target count of the season, so it's clear that the foot issue limited him, which makes it encouraging to see the Giants expect he would've practiced to begin this week. Gets into end zone Week 6
Slayton brought in two of four targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' 20-19 win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday. He also lost three yards on his sole rush.
Analysis: Slayton looked like he might be headed to a bigger day when he notched a 23-yard scoring grab in the left corner of the end zone late in the first quarter. However, the second-year speedster ultimately logged his lowest target count of the season, which led to his second-fewest receiving yards of the campaign. The Auburn product's visit to the end zone was his first since Week 1, and he'll look to repeat the feat at the expense of the Eagles in a Thursday night Week 7 battle.

Suiting up Sunday
Slayton (foot) is listed as active Sunday against Washington, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: After a week in which he was listed as limited on every practice report due to a foot injury, Slayton is upholding coach Joe Judge's expectation from Friday that the second-year wide receiver will play Week 6. On the season, Slayton has taken full advantage of his 40 targets through five games, putting up a respectable 23-365-2 line. He'll look to add to it versus a Washington defense that has allowed 8.95 YPT (12th-highest figure in the NFL) to wide receivers in 2020.

Listed as questionable, should play
Slayton (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Washington, but he's expected to play, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Coach Joe Judge said Friday that Slayton that should be able to suit up. The second-year pro has emerged as the focal point of a struggling passing game, leading the team in every relevant receiving stat while accounting for 23.4 percent of the targets. Fantasy managers would be wise to check back for confirmation of Slayton's availability when the Giants release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday.

Remains limited
Slayton was a limited participant at Thursday's practice, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: The Giants held a more traditional practice session Thursday after staging a walk-through Wednesday, but Slayton wasn't able to take a step up in terms of his listed activity. He'll attempt to turn in a full practice Friday, which would assuage any concerns about his status heading into Sunday's game against Washington.

Limited by foot issue
Slayton was limited at Wednesday's walk-through practice due to a foot injury, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: On the heels of an eight-catch, 129-yard performance at Dallas this past Sunday, Slayton is tending to a foot injury of unknown severity. Fortunately for the second-year wide receiver, he was able to participate in some capacity to kick off Week 6 prep, and he'll now have two more days to elevate to full participation prior to a matchup with Washington this weekend.

Big day in loss to Dallas
Slayton caught eight of 11 targets for 129 yards in Sunday's 37-34 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: The second-year receiver was, by far, Daniel Jones' favorite option on the afternoon, as no other Giant saw more than five targets or hauled in more than 42 receiving yards. Slayton's had to make do with yardage rather than scores lately, however -- Jones has only two passing TDs on the year so far, and Slayton caught them both back in the Giants' opener. The duo will look to hook up in the end zone again next week at home against Washington.

Leading receiver against Rams
Slayton caught three of seven targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 17-9 loss to the Rams.
Analysis: Despite the modest numbers, Slayton was the Giants' leading receiver on the afternoon, and only tight end Evan Engram saw more targets from Daniel Jones. Slayton has produced nearly identical numbers the last three games after his huge performance in the opener, but he could be in line for a rebound in Week 5 against a Cowboys defense that just surrendered 49 points to the Browns.

Leads pass catchers in loss
Slayton brought in three of seven targets for 53 yards and lost a fumble in the Giants' 36-9 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.
Analysis: Slayton paced the Giants in receiving yards on the afternoon, although given the pedestrian performance of the offense as a whole, that wasn't much of an auspicious accomplishment. The second-year speedster also fumbled on the 49ers' 19-yard line after a 22-yard reception just after the two-minute warning in the second half, but New York was completely out of the game by that point. Musters up 33 yards
Slayton hauled in three of five targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Bears.
Analysis: Slayton was outstanding in Week 1 with a 6-101-2 line, but he registered a floor game in Week 2, as the Giants struggled to generate much offense. The 2019 fifth-round pick is a boom-or-bust player by nature of his deep targets, but it is a bit concerning that he only received two targets before the Giants' final drive. He'll look for a correction next week when the 49ers come to town.

Bright spot in defeat
Slayton caught six of nine targets for 102 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 26-16 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: Slayton offered a silver lining to an otherwise underwhelming performance from the Giants, as he continued to show great chemistry with quarterback Daniel Jones. The second-year duo first connected on a 41-yard touchdown to start the second quarter, then finished the game with a seven-yard score in the fourth. Overall, Slayton led New York in all major receiving categories and looked like the team's best perimeter option. After nearly 50 catches, 750 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie,…read more

Enjoying healthy offseason
Slayton said he feels healthy this offseason, after battling a nagging hamstring injury during his rookie campaign, NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt reports.
Analysis: The hamstring ailment sidelined Slayton for Weeks 1 and 2 but didn't seem to affect him thereafter. He quickly emerged as a downfield weapon in a part-time role, earning a starting job and heavy snap counts by mid-October. The fifth-round pick ultimately averaged 50.1 snaps and 6.0 targets over 14 games, despite making an early exit from Week 16 with a minor knee injury. Ready for Week 17
Slayton (knee) doesn't carry an injury designation and should be ready to handle a normal workload Sunday against the Eagles, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Slayton was limited to two targets while playing 29 percent of the offensive snaps in last week's 41-35 win over Washington, missing a large chunk of the game after he hurt his knee in the first half. Analysis: Slayton missed some action this past Sunday at Washington, resulting in a season-low 29-percent share of the offensive snaps. Goes quiet Week 16
Slayton had zero catches on two targets during Sunday's 41-35 overtime win over the Redskins.
Analysis: The 22-year-old had 27 receptions for 417 yards and five touchdowns over the previous five games, but he lost playing time to Cody Latimer on Sunday. Slayton played more than 69 percent of offensive snaps in those five games but played his lowest snap share of the season (29 percent) versus Washington compared to Latimer's 59-percent share. TDs keep coming
Slayton caught two of three targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-20 win over the Dolphins.
Analysis: Slayton failed to notch his fourth multi-score effort of 2019, but the impressive rookie is up to eight touchdowns, seven of which have come in his past seven games played. His visit to the end zone in this one came from five yards out in the third quarter. Regardless of whether he's catching balls from Eli Manning for a third straight game or from Daniel Jones (ankle), Slayton will remain a threat to find the end zone in Washington in Week 16.

Slayton caught five of eight targets for 154 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 23-17 overtime loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Slayton showed no slippage despite the Giants' change at quarterback, as he opened the scoring with a 35-yard touchdown from Eli Manning, then finished the first half with a 55-yard scoring bomb. In doing so, the rookie set a new career high in receiving yards -- topping 100 yards for the second time and scoring for the fourth time in his last four outings -- and led New York in all major pass-catching categories. That came despite both Golden Tate and Sterling Shepard suiting up, offering…read more

Could see decline
Wide receiver coach Tyke Tolbert suggested Slayton would still be a featured part of the offense following the return of Golden Tate (concussion) to the starting lineup, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. "He's going to be the same factor he's always been."
Analysis: There's a lot working against the narrative Tolbert suggested, starting first and foremost with the return of both Tate and Sterling Shepard, the latter of whom made his first appearance last Sunday against the Packers after a multi-week absence due to ongoing concussion symptoms. While Slayton was still able to record at least seven targets for the third consecutive game even with Shepard around, those opportunities could vanish with the news that rookie quarterback Daniel Jones (ankle) will…read more

Nabs six passes
Slayton caught six of nine passes for 44 yards during Sunday's 31-13 loss to Green Bay.
Analysis: Slayton, getting the start for Golden Tate (concussion), enjoyed his third consecutive game with at least seven targets. He and rookie Daniel Jones seem to have a strong rapport, and Jones looked the fellow rookie's way early in the first quarter to convert a key fourth down. Slayton had seven targets in Week 12 even with the Giants healthy at receiver, so he should get some opportunities irrespective of Tate's health in Week 14 against the Eagles.

Leading receiver as Shepard returns
Slayton caught four of seven targets for 67 yards in Sunday's 19-14 loss to the Bears.
Analysis: Fellow wide receiver Sterling Shepard returned from a concussion and led the Giants with nine targets, but Slayton led the team in receiving yards and tied with Golden Tate for second in targets with seven. While Shepard is another mouth to feed, it appears Slayton has emerged as a legitimate weapon for the Giants. The rookie fifth-rounder should remain on the fantasy radar in deeper formats when his team hosts the Packers in Week 13.

Second two-TD game in three weeks
Slayton caught 10 of 14 targets for 121 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Slayton scored touchdowns of five and 39 yards in the second quarter, delivering his second two-score performance in the past three weeks. Sandwiched in between those performances is a one-catch, six-yard dud, as the 22-year-old wide receiver is still striving to find week-to-week consistency. Slayton makes for an intriguing pickup moving forward given the upside he's displayed recently, but his role could shrink dramatically if Sterling Shepard (concussion) is ready to make his return…read more

High snap count, minimal production
Slayton caught one of four targets for six yards in Monday's 37-18 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Slayton started the contest and played 67 of 72 offensive snaps (93 percent), but he saw his fewest receptions and yards of the season. This dud comes after the rookie fifth-round pick posted two touchdowns in Week 8 against the Lions. Slayton didn't draw much attention despite Daniel Jones heaving 41 passes, but he has a good chance to turn it around against the Jets' suspect secondary in Week 10.

Getting another start Monday
Slayton will start Monday versus the Cowboys, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Sterling Shepard seemed to be closing in on getting through the concussion protocol for the second time this season, only to have a recurrence of symptoms over the weekend. His absence has allowed Slayton to retain an increased role, which he's utilized to put up 16 catches (on 27 targets) for 267 yards and three touchdowns over the last six games. Slayton may have a difficult time producing against a Cowboys defense that has yielded 7.7 yards per target and just three TDs to wide receivers in…read more
