Totals 50 yards from scrimmage
Whyte totaled 41 yards on five carries and caught his only target for nine yards in Pittsburgh's 23-17 win over Arizona on Sunday.
Analysis: Benny Snell continues to be the primary running back with James Conner (shoulder) still unable to play, but Whyte seems to have pulled even with -- if not ahead of -- Jaylen Samuels in the ground game. In the past three games, Whyte has rushed 14 times for 94 yards compared to 54 yards on 16 carries for Samuels. The anticipated return of Conner in Week 15 against the Bills could diminish Whyte's fantasy value while Samuels could still play a role in the passing game.

Runs for 43 yards in debut
Whyte ran six times for 43 yards in Pittsburgh's 16-10 win over Cincinnati on Sunday.
Analysis: Signed just over a week ago, Whyte ran for 21 yards on his first NFL carry and then added 22 yards on his next two runs that same series. Despite his early success, Whyte only had three more touches and no yards the remainder of the game. With the status of James Conner (shoulder) still in doubt for Week 13, Pittsburgh's rushing attack is in flux. Benny Snell, Jaylen Samuels, Trey Edmunds and Whyte have all had brief moments of production, but none are consistent enough to trust as the fantasy…read more

Joining Pittsburgh
Whyte signed a contract with the Steelers on Saturday.
Analysis: Facing a mountain of injuries following Thursday's literal slugfest against the Browns, Whyte is expected to be an insurance policy in the case James Conner (shoulder) or Benny Snell (knee) is unable to play Week 12 against the Bengals.

Waived by Chicago
The Bears waived Whyte on Thursday.
Analysis: Whyte wasn't active for Chicago's first three games of the season, and he'll now be let go to make room for tight end Bradley Sowell on the 53-man roster. The rookie seventh-round pick will look to catch on elsewhere in the league.

Unimpressive effort
Whyte carried four times for eight yards while adding a seven-yard reception in Chicago's 27-17 win over the Colts on Saturday.
Analysis: Whyte totaled 18 yards on 10 carries over the last two preseason games, and he's squarely on the roster bubble as the Bears close out the preseason.

Finds end zone
Whyte rushed six times for 10 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 32-13 preseason loss to the Giants on Friday.
Analysis: Rushing for fewer than two yards per carry certainly won't help him in his quest to make the 53-man roster, but with Ryan Nall and Taquan Mizzell both having lackluster performances as well, Whyte should still find himself competing for the No. 4 running back role as the preseason continues.

Posts 35 rushing yards
Whyte had six carries for 35 yards while adding a seven-yard reception in the Bears' 23-13 preseason loss to the Panthers on Thursday.
Analysis: Playing against the deepest reserve defenders of the Panthers, Whyte broke off a 23-yard run to give him a respectable 42 yards over seven touches. After being selected by the Bears in the seventh round of this year's draft, he'll continue to battle for the No. 4 running back job, and he may need to perform well on special teams to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.
