Gets to quarterback again Sunday
Wonnum recorded four tackles (three solo) including a sack in Sunday's 27-19 win versus the Saints.
Analysis: Wonnum logged a sack for the fourth time in his last seven games in Week 10, putting himself on pace for a career year in that category in his fourth NFL season. He's still off the IDP radar in most formats, though, and he's unlikely to see quite as many chances to rush the passer in Week 11 at Denver.

Doubles season sack total Week 8
Wonnum had three tackles (one solo), including two total sacks, in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Packers.
Analysis: Wonnum got to Jordan Love on three separate occasions, first on a solo 12-yard sack at the end of the first quarter and in combined efforts with Camryn Bynum and Harrison Phillips in the second and fourth quarter, respectively. Wonnum is up to four sacks on the year -- already matching his total from 2022 -- and has played in at least 60 percent of defensive snaps in seven of eight games this season.

Two sacks in win
Wonnum had two sacks, three total tackles and three QB hits in Sunday's win at Green Bay.
Analysis: With Marcus Davenport (ankle) on injured reserve, Wonnum started again at right edge rusher and played on 63 of the defense's 68 snaps. He has four sacks and 30 tackles in eight games this season.

Scores TD on fumble return
Wonnum had six total tackles, including a sack, two quarterback hits, a pass defensed and a 51-yard fumble return for a touchdown in Sunday's 21-13 win at Carolina.
Analysis: Wonnum saw less playing time (just 45 of the defense's 72 snaps) with the return of Marcus Davenport from injury, but he was efficient as a pass rusher. Harrison Smith forced a fumble on a sack and Wonnum caught a lucky bounce and returned it for a touchdown.

Four tackles in loss
Wonnum started at outside linebacker opposite Danielle Hunter in Minnesota's 3-4 defense with Marcus Davenport out with an ankle injury and had four total tackles in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Wonnum will be counted on to help with the pass rush after the departure of Za'Darius Smith, but he didn't register any QB pressures in the loss. He played on 54 of the defense's 68 snaps. He could start again in Thursday night's Week 2 matchup against the Eagles if Davenport remains sidelined.

Smaller role in 2022
Wonnum totaled 38 tackles, including four sacks, while playing 16 games during the 2022 regular season.
Analysis: Wonnum took a step back in both playing time and production following his career-best campaign in 2021. The third-year linebacker shifted into a rotational role behind Minnesota's top pass rushers Danielle Hunter and Za'Darius Smith. Wonnum still played at least 43 percent of defensive snaps in every game outside of the 2022 season opener, though he totaled just one-half sack over the final 10 contests, including the Vikings' wild-card loss to the Giants. Won't play at Miami
Wonnum (illness) is listed as out for Sunday's game at the Dolphins.
Analysis: Wonnum will miss his first game action this season with an unspecified illness. Until he's ready to play again, Minnesota will probably lean a bit more heavily on two-time Pro Bowler Za'Darius Smith to chase the quarterback.

Labeled questionable for Sunday
Wonnum (illness) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Wonnum landed on the injury report Thursday as a non-participant due to an illness and remained sidelined during Friday's practice. He'll have one more full day to clear the aliment and will likely be a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's 1:00 PM ET kickoff.

Doesn't practice with illness
Wonnum was listed as a non-participant at Thursday's practice due to an illness.
Analysis: Wonnum didn't appear on the Vikings' initial practice report Wednesday, but his availability for Sunday's game against the Vikings is now up in the air after he came down with an unspecified illness. The third-year defensive end has recorded 14 tackles and 2.5 sacks while playing in a rotational role behind Danielle Hunter and Za'Darius Smith for much of the season.

Gets sack in season opener
Wonnum had a sack and two total tackles in Sunday's win over Green Bay.
Analysis: Wonnum played on 21 of the defense's 61 snaps. Wonnum moved into a starting role after Danielle Hunter's season-ending pectoral injury Week 8 last year and responded with 33 tackles and seven sacks over his final 10 games. He'll begin this season in a reserve role behind Hunter and newcomer Za'Darius Smith as an edge rusher in the Vikings' new 3-4 defense, but Wonnum could find his way onto the field more since neither Hunter nor Smith were able to stay healthy in 2021.

Shows improvement in 2021
Wonnum tallied 47 tackles (29 solo), eight sacks, a forced fumble and four pass defenses in 2021.
Analysis: Wonnum failed to top three tackles in any of his first seven appearances of the season, but he finished the year on a strong note with 20 tackles (15 solo), five sacks and a pass defense across the final four games. The 2020 fourth-rounder will attempt to build on his production during his third NFL season in 2022.

Doubles up sack total in win
Wonnum tallied eight tackles -- including a career-high three sacks -- to go with a forced fumble Monday in the Vikings' 17-9 win over the Bears.
Analysis: Wonnum doubled up his season sack total in the Week 15 win and has now gotten to the quarterback five times in the last four games while also batting down three passes. He's done his part to help lead Minnesota's pass-rushing effort after Danielle Hunter (pectoral) was placed on injured reserve in early November.

False positive result confirmed
Wonnum projects to be available for Sunday's game against the Packers after it was confirmed his COVID-19 test Wednesday generated a false positive result, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Wonnum tested negative Thursday, indicating Wednesday's result was a false alarm. The second-year pro has taken over the starting defensive end spot for the Vikings following the injury to Danielle Hunter (pectoral) and has recorded six tackles and one pass deflection over the last three contests.

Misses practice Wednesday
Wonnum was unable to practice Wednesday as the Vikings are determining whether the defensive end needs to be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Wonnum took two COVID-19 tests Wednesday in which the first test came back positive and the second was negative. There is a solid chance that the defensive end might've had a false positive test. Wonnum will take another test again Thursday, which will determine if he ends up on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Moves up depth chart
Wonnum is likely to move into a starting role in the wake of Danielle Hunter's season-ending pectoral injury, Eric Smith of the Vikings' official website reports.
Analysis: Wonnum has had a rotational presence on the Vikings' defensive line all season, but Hunter's absence the rest of the way is expected to afford the 24-year-old a starting role moving forward. The 2020 fourth-round selection has 14 tackles (six solo) and a sack on the season playing 66 percent of the defensive snaps. He'll look to take advantage of the added responsibility starting Week 9 against the Ravens.

Gets sack in reserve role
Wonnum had a sack, two QB hits and three total tackles despite moving from the starting lineup to a bench role in Sunday's win over Detroit.
Analysis: Everson Griffen moved into the starting role at defensive end opposite Danielle Hunter. Wonnum still played on 40 of the defense's 68 snaps, about his usual rate, and was still productive. The Vikings will likely rotate both players to keep them fresh.

Gets start at defensive end
Wonnum started at right defensive end and had two total tackles in Sunday's overtime loss at Cincinnati.
Analysis: Wonnum played 47 of the defense's 69 snaps. He won the starting role over Stephen Weatherly in the preseason, but was outplayed by him on Sunday, at least by Pro Football Focus's rankings, as Wonnum graded poorly in the pass rush.

Listed as starter
Wonnum is listed as the starter at right defensive end in Minnesota's unofficial depth chart opposite Danielle Hunter ahead of a Week 1 matchup at Cincinnati.
Analysis: Wonnum edged out Stephen Weatherly for the starting nod, but both players will likely be part of a rotation. And Everson Griffen may get most of the snaps on passing situations, which could limit Wonnum's fantasy value.

Tabbed for first NFL start
Wonnum is slated to start against New Orleans on Friday with Jalyn Holmes (groin) officially ruled out for the contest, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Wonnum has seen his playing time increase over the second half of the campaign, and he logged a season-high 67 percent of defensive snaps in last week's loss to Chicago. With Holmes unable to go Friday, Wonnum will make his first professional start against the Saints' formidable offense on Christmas Day.

Ready to face Bucs
Wonnum (ankle) is not listed on Friday's injury report, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Wonnum missed last weekend's game against the Jaguars, but it looks like he'll be back in action versus Tampa Bay. The rookie fourth-round pick has three sacks on the season.

Ruled out for Week 13
Wonnum (ankle) is out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: The rookie fourth-round pick has suited up for six straight games, but he'll now have to sit for at least a week as he works to overcome injury. His absence could allow Hercules Mata'afa and/or Jordan Brailford to handle increased rotational roles.

Adds another sack
Wonnum posted two solo tackles and a sack in Monday's 19-13 win over the Bears.
Analysis: That's now back-to-back games where Wonnum has played at least 50 percent of the snaps on defense, although it doesn't look like a starting role is in the works, as both Ifeadi Odenigbo and Jalyn Holmes are locked into their respective roles. Still, Wonnum is showing promise in his rookie season, as he's recorded three sacks and seven quarterback pressures through eight games.
