Leads the NFL with a 23.7% QB pressure rate this season (min. 200 pass rushes) | 3rd Down QBP: 30 (most)
Updated Thu, Dec 7 at 1:35pm -
Five sacks in last four games
Huff had 1.5 sacks among his three tackles (one solo) in Monday's 27-6 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: The standout pass rusher finished with four quarterback hits Monday while raising his season sack total to 5.0 through eight games. All of Huff's sacks have come in the last four games, as he's earned a larger role in New York's defensive end rotation with his consistent ability to get to the quarterback.

Racks up 1.5 sacks in win
Huff recorded three tackles (two solo), including 1.5 sacks, in Sunday's 20-14 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: Huff is the NFL's leader in pressure rate going back to last season, but his limitations defending the run have relegated him to a situational role. While he's still far from an every-down player, Huff finally exceeded 40 percent of defensive snaps in the last two games with 45 percent in Week 5 and 50 percent in Sunday's win. He's made the most of those opportunities with 2.5 sacks in the two-game span, so Huff's expanded role could be here to stay after the Jets' Week 7 bye.

Signs tender with New York
Huff signed his one-year tender with the Jets on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Huff had been a restricted free agent but will now return to New York for the upcoming campaign. The 25-year-old logged six tackles (four solo) and 3.5 sacks while playing on both defense and special teams last year. Now that he's back in the fold the 2020 undrafted free agent should continue to provide solid pass-rushing depth this coming season.

Tendered at second-round level
The Jets tendered Huff at the second-round level as a restricted free agent Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: The 2020 undrafted free agent out of Memphis recorded 3.5 sacks on just 191 defensive snaps last season and is in line for an expanded pass-rushing role in 2023. He has 7.5 sacks on 823 career snaps.

Inactive Sunday
Huff (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Ravens, Andy Vazquez of NJ.com reports.
Analysis: Huff was dealing with an oblique injury early in the week, but he was cleared from the injury report Thursday. His absence from the active roster Sunday comes as a bit of a surprise, but he'll work to prove he should suit up in Week 2 in practice throughout the upcoming week.

Ready for Week 1
Huff (oblique) was not listed on Wednesday's injury report, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.

Doesn't play Monday
Huff (oblique) didn't play in Monday's preseason contest against the Falcons, Mark Inabinett of AL.com reports.
Analysis: Huff was listed as questionable heading into the contest, but he ultimately didn't suit up. Jets head coach Robert Saleh initially said the injury should only sideline Huff for a few days, so he'll likely be available for Sunday's preseason finale against the Giants.

Questionable for Monday
Huff is currently dealing with an oblique injury that will leave him questionable heading into the Jets' preseason matchup Monday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jets coach Robert Saleh said Friday that Huff is expected to miss only a few days after being sidelined in practice due to this injury, though there has been no update on his status since. Should the 24-year-old ultimately prove unable to play, defensive ends Jabari Zuniga, Micheal Clemons and Bradlee Anae should see additional snaps during Monday's exhibition against the Falcons.

Participating in offseason workouts
Huff (ankle) operated as a backup along the defensive line during the Jets' minicamp practices at the beginning of June, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Huff ended last season on injured reserve after suffering an ankle injury during Week 17. The third-year pro filled a reserve role in each of the two previous seasons, totaling 30 tackles with four sacks, and he'll likely garner a similar role in 2022.

Placed on IR
Huff (ankle) has been placed on the Jets' injured reserve, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official website reports.
Analysis: Huff's placement on the IR means his season is over, as the Jets have been eliminated from the postseason. He played in nine games this year, including seven starts, and accumulated 14 tackles, one tackle for loss, two sacks and eight QB hits. The 2020 undrafted free agent will now set his sights on the offseason.

Dealing with ankle injury
Huff is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Buccaneers after suffering an ankle injury, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
Analysis: Huff hopped off the field with the injury in the second half and was seen being examined in the medical tent. The severity of the issue is unknown, though Tim Ward could see a bit more action along the defensive line in his absence.

Designated for return
The Jets have designated Huff (back) for return from IR.
Analysis: Huff is recovering from a back injury sustained Week 7, and he will now have a 21-day window to be evaluated at practice. The 23-year-old could be eligible to return as early as Sunday's divisional matchup against the Dolphins, provided the Jets bring him to the active roster first.

Huff (back) was placed on IR on Thursday,
Analysis: Huff was already ruled out for Thursday's game against the Colts after also missing Week 8 against the Bengals. The 23-year-old will be eligible to return Nov. 28. In the meantime, Shaq Lawson and Jabari Zuniga will likely take on bigger roles.

Won't play Thursday
Huff (back) will not play in the Jets' Week 9 contest against the Colts on Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Huff will miss his second consecutive game in Week 9 after he missed the Jets' Week 8 win over the Bengals. The defensive end wasn't able to practice in any capacity this week, so there's no surprise with this injury designation. Expect Shaq Lawson to see a large role against the Colts on Thursday.

Ruled out for Week 8
Huff (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Bengals, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
Analysis: Huff has racked up 10 tackles and two sacks through six games this season, but he will be sidelined Sunday for the first time during the 2021 campaign. The Jets continue to deal with numerous injuries to their front seven, so they may need to add some depth from the practice squad before their meeting with the Bengals.
