Perfect in loss
McPherson connected on all three of his extra-point tries and his lone field-goal attempt in a 27-24 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
Analysis: McPherson was good from 27 yards out in the second quarter to make him 2-for-3 on FGAs for the 2023 season after hitting from 42 but missing from 51 yards out Week 1 against the Browns. He'll look to be perfect again in Week 3 against the Rams.

Quiet day in blowout loss
McPherson made one of his two field-goal attempts in Sunday's 24-3 loss at Cleveland.
Analysis: McPherson converted on a 42-yard field goal on Cincinnati's first drive of the second half to cut the Browns' lead to 10-3, but he saw only one more opportunity to kick the ball after that. On the Bengals' next possession, he pushed a 51-yard attempt wide to the right. Joe Burrow and company being stifled almost entirely is probably an aberration, and McPherson's miss was just the third of his career from 50-plus after 17 attempts. If nothing else, Cincinnati's offense seems like a good bet to…read more

Makes all kicks
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 27-16 win over the Ravens.
Analysis: McPherson converted from 34 and 26 yards on his field goals. After a fantastic rookie season, McPherson was less accurate this year, with his 112 total points placing outside the top 15 for kickers league-wide. He'll now turn his focus to Sunday night's wild-card game and rematch versus the Ravens.

Struggles in narrow win
McPherson connected on one of two field-goal attempts and one of two extra-point tries during Saturday's 22-18 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: Joe Burrow found Tee Higgins for a nine-yard score on the Bengals' first drive of the game, but McPherson pushed the extra-point try wide right. The kicker missed another PAT to the right following Cincinnati's next touchdown, but after the kick was negated by an unnecessary roughness call, the Bengals opted to go for two. McPherson bounced back by connecting on a 28-yard field goal to start the second quarter and finally made a PAT before halftime. However, the second-year kicker pulled his…read more

Makes all kicks in Week 15 win
McPherson made both field-goal attempts and both PAT tries in Sunday's 34-23 win over the Buccaneers.
Analysis: A 41-yard field goal as the first half expired accounted for Cincinnati's only points before halftime, but the offense heated up in the second half. McPherson made another kick from 21 yards and tacked on a pair of PATs as the Bengals improved to 10-4.

Connects on three more kicks
McPherson made his only field-goal attempt and both extra-point tries during Sunday's 23-10 win over the Browns.
Analysis: McPherson made two extra-point tries before connecting on his lone field-goal attempt, a 30-yarder that extended Cincinnati's lead to 23-10. After missing back-to-back attempts in Weeks 8 and 9, the second-year kicker has connected on six straight field goals, including four from beyond 40 yards.

Perfect yet again
McPherson converted both of his field-goal attempts and all three extra-point tries during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Chiefs.
Analysis: McPherson entered Cincinnati's Week 10 bye having missed three total kicks over the Bengals' two games prior. Since then, the second-year pro has gone 7-for-7 on his field-goal attempts and 9-for-9 on PAT tries across the team's last three matchups. McPherson is someone who should be rostered in most leagues given his ability to kick from distance, and because he's part of the Bengals' high-powered offense, which allows more scoring opportunities.

Perfect in Week 12
McPherson made both field-goal attempts and both PAT tries in Sunday's 20-16 win over Tennessee.

Perfect night
McPherson nailed all three field-goal attempts, including one from 54 yards, along with four extra-point tries in the Bengals' win over the Steelers in Week 11.

Misses another field goal Sunday
McPherson missed his only field-goal attempt but connected on all six extra-point tries in Sunday's 42-21 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: After a strong start to the 2022-23 campaign, McPherson has now missed three kicks over Cincinnati's previous two games, including the missed 48-yard field-goal try during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against Carolina. The 23-year-old has just two field-goal makes across the team's last five games, and the Bengals will now enjoy a Week 10 bye before returning the following Sunday versus Pittsburgh.

Misses two kicks
McPherson missed his only field-goal attempt as well as one of his two extra-point tries in Monday night's 32-13 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: McPherson went wide right with a 47-yard field goal just before halftime, then failed on his next kick as well. Although he finished by converting a PAT, it was a forgettable outing for the second-year player, with his point total marking a season low.

Hits five PATs in win
McPherson did not attempt a field goal Sunday while going 5-for-5 on extra-point tries in the Bengals' 35-17 win over the Falcons.
Analysis: McPherson went without a field-goal attempt for the first time this year, but he did make a season-high five extra-point tries. Over the last three weeks, the kicker has made only two field goals total, as the Bengals' offense has started to heat up and score more touchdowns. McPherson will look to get more involved in Week 8 against the Browns.

Makes 52-yarder in win
McPherson made a 52-yard field goal while going 3-for-3 on PATs in the Bengals' Week 6 win over the Saints.
Analysis: McPherson was once again limited to just one field-goal attempt Sunday, nailing a 52-yarder late in the fourth quarter. The 23-year-old made all three of his extra-point attempts in the contest as well, and he has now made 11 consecutive PATs. On the season, McPherson has gone 11-for-13 on field goals while going 4-for-4 from 50-plus yards and converting 11 out of 12 extra-point tries.

Sees limited kicking opportunities
McPherson converted on his only field-goal attempt and both point-after tries during the Bengals' 19-17 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
Analysis: McPherson made a 40-yarder with eight seconds remaining in the first half, which tied the game at 10-10, but he was otherwise held in check in Week 5. The second-year kicker is now 10-for-12 on field-goal attempts and 8-of-9 on extra-point tries in 2022, and he'll have the luxury of kicking indoors next Sunday in New Orleans.

Back in full Thursday
McPherson (groin) was a full participant during Thursday's practice, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: McPherson unexpectedly popped up with a groin injury on Cincinnati's injury report Wednesday, which left him limited during practice. However, the 23-year-old appears to have moved past this issue heading into Sunday's game against Baltimore. McPherson converted nine of his 11 field-goal attempts and six of seven PAT tries over the first four weeks of the season.

McPherson was a limited participant at practice Wednesday with a groin injury, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: McPherson may have picked up the injury in the Bengals' Week 4 win over the Dolphins, but his participation in practice in some capacity indicates it's probably not too severe. Regardless, the second-year kicker's status will be one to monitor ahead of a primetime matchup at Baltimore this Sunday.

Perfect in Thursday night win
McPherson converted on both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his point-after tries during Cincinnati's 27-15 win versus Miami on Thursday.
Analysis: McPherson made a chip shot to take the lead with 12 minutes remaining in the game and then nailed a 57-yarder to extend that lead to five points with six minutes to play. He continues to generate returns in leagues that reward long field goals, as he's 6-for-7 on field-goal tries of 40-plus yards through four games this season after converting on 15 of 20 such tries in 2021. Analysis: McPherson made two field goals in the second quarter, making one from 22 yards and another from 43. He later missed a 41-yard attempt in the fourth quarter. The kicker was also a perfect 3-for-3 on PATs and will continue to be a viable fantasy option on an explosive offense.

The second-year kicker kept Cincinnati's struggling offense in the game against Dallas, as he made field goals of 43, 50 and 46 yards through the first three quarters of Sunday's loss. Mixed results in loss
McPherson made two of three field-goal attempts and missed his only extra-point try during Sunday's 23-20 overtime defeat versus the Steelers. Both misses occurred after long-snapper Clark Harris tore his biceps and Mitchell Wilcox was forced into action and had bad snaps.
Analysis: McPherson drilled a 59-yarder to open the scoring for the Bengals and added a 26-yard chip shot at the end of the first quarter. However, it all went downhill from there, as the second-year kicker proceeded to have his potential game-winning extra point blocked at the end of regulation and missed another potential game-winning kick -- a 29-yard field-goal attempt -- wide left in overtime. Hits 50-yarder in preseason
McPherson made three of four field-goal attempts and his only PAT attempt in Sunday's 25-22 preseason loss to the Giants.
Analysis: McPherson connected from 50, 44 and 31 yards in the first half, but his attempt from 58 yards in the third quarter drifted wide left. That long miss won't shake McPherson's confidence, especially since a high snap is partially to blame for throwing off his rhythm. Makes all four kicks in Super Bowl
McPherson converted both field-goal attempts and both PATs during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Rams in Super Bowl LVI.
Analysis: It was a strong finish to a successful playoff run for McPherson, as he went 14-for-14 on field goals and 6-for-6 on PATs in four contests, though he didn't receive an opportunity to tie the game in the fourth quarter Sunday. The 22-year-old enjoyed a successful rookie campaign, going 28-for-33 on field-goal attempts and 46-for-48 on extra points. Not playing Week 18
McPherson (groin) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: McPherson's first absence of the season was foreshadowed Saturday, when the Bengals promoted another kicker (Elliott Fry) from the practice squad. Fry will thus step in to handle kicking duties in place of McPherson, who should be ready to go for the wild-card round. The fifth-round rookie out of Florida turned in a productive regular season, connecting on 46 of 48 extra-point tries and 28 of 33 field-goal attempts, including a 9-for-11 mark from 50-plus yards.

McPherson (groin) appears unlikely to play Sunday against the Browns after kicker Elliott Fry was elevated from the Bengals' practice squad Saturday, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.

Nails game-winner Sunday
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Chiefs.
Analysis: With the Bengals offense chugging along once again, McPherson had plenty of work to do, although it mostly came after touchdowns. His 20-yard kick to win it as time expired was among the easiest he's ever had in terms of distance while simultaneously being probably the most pressure-packed in terms of importance. The rookie has now put up at least nine points in four straight games.

McPherson made two of his three field-goal attempts and all five of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 41-21 win over the Ravens.
Analysis: Joe Burrow, who threw for a career-high 525 yards, continued to move the Bengals' offense into scoring position, which meant a big day for the rookie kicker. However, after nailing a 30-yard attempt to open the scoring and adding a 36-yarder at the end of the third quarter, McPherson pushed a 50-yard field goal wide right with five minutes left to go in the game. Wins starting job in Cincinnati
McPherson was named the Bengals' starting kicker Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: The Bengals selected McPherson in the fifth round of April's draft, so he entered training camp with an edge on incumbent Austin Seibert, who was released Tuesday. McPherson solidified his starting role with a perfect preseason, as he drilled all five of his field-goal attempts, including a 57-yarder in the preseason finale.
