Will develop behind Waller
The Giants remain high on Bellinger, who will be able to develop "at a more normal pace" after the team traded for Darren Waller on Tuesday, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: After being taken in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Bellinger quickly worked his way up to being New York's starting tight end. Though he performed admirably in the role, finishing the campaign with 30 catches for 268 yards and two receiving touchdowns (and adding a touchdown on his only rush attempt) over 11 games, the Giants traded for Waller to help perk up their passing game soon after handing out a four-year contract to quarterback Daniel Jones. Waller's arrival will almost…read more

Cements starting role as rookie
Bellinger totaled 30 catches on 35 targets for 268 yards and two receiving touchdowns during the regular season in his rookie campaign. He added one rush for a two-yard touchdown.
Analysis: Bellinger saw his snap count rise steadily from Week 1 to Week 6 before suffering an eye injury against Jacksonville in Week 7. The issue required surgery and cost him four contests, but Bellinger immediately slotted back into a starting role upon his return and received the lion's share of New York's tight end snaps the rest of the way, including in two postseason contests during which he tallied three catches on five targets for 21 yards. While the rookie out of San Diego State didn't record…read more

Hauls in TD in wild-card win
Bellinger caught both his targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-24 wild-card win over the Vikings.
Analysis: The rookie tight end hadn't scored a TD since Week 6, but Bellinger was on the other end of a nine-yard toss from Daniel Jones early in the third quarter that gave the Giants a 24-14 lead. Bellinger has shown flashes of upside in his brief career, but they didn't come against the team he'll face in the divisional round, as the Eagles held him to only three catches for 19 yards in their first meeting back in Week 14.

Slightly increases production
Bellinger hauled in all three of his targets for 42 yards Sunday in the Giants' Week 17 win over Indianapolis.
Analysis: Bellinger tied for second on New York in receiving yardage with a total that established a new career-high mark. The bulk of the rookie tight end's production came on a 24-yard reception in the second quarter that took the ball to the Colts' seven-yard line and helped set up an Isaiah Hodgins receiving touchdown. Bellinger has been given a near every-down role for the playoff-bound Giants, but he hasn't put up the type of numbers typical of a must-roster tight end in standard fantasy leagues.

Records two catches Saturday
Bellinger corralled both of his targets for 27 yards in Saturday's loss to Minnesota. He also lost one fumble.
Analysis: Bellinger was the only New York tight end to see any targets Saturday, and he played all but one of the team's offensive snaps. However, the rookie continued to post modest numbers, and his fumble following a 16-yad reception on the opening play of the second quarter led to a Vikings field goal. The 27 receiving yards was Bellinger's highest mark since returning from an eye injury in Week 13, emphasizing his relatively low fantasy ceiling as quarterback Daniel Jones has increasingly fed the…read more

Only one catch Sunday
Bellinger caught one of four targets for four yards in a 20-12 victory over the Commanders on Sunday.
Analysis: Bellinger tied for fourth on New York with four targets, but he was able to corral only of them for a short gain. He ended up with his fewest receiving yards since being shut out entirely in the Giants' season opener, though that can be partly attributed to an overall quiet passing performance by Daniel Jones, who threw for only 160 yards. Bellinger played 98 percent of New York's offensive snaps and remains the team's clear-cut top tight end, and he will have a chance to bounce back in a Week…read more

Playing Sunday
Bellinger (ribs) is listed as active Sunday in Washington, Matt Citak of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Last Sunday against the Eagles, Bellinger attempted to play through a rib injury but eventually departed for good in the fourth quarter. Coach Brian Daboll described Bellinger's issue as "pretty sore" Monday, capping him to limited sessions during Week 15 prep. It won't stop Bellinger from being available to the Giants offense Sunday, and assuming he avoids any in-game setbacks, he'll be set for a majority share of the team's TE reps. In nine appearances as a fourth-round rookie, he's hauled in…read more

Questionable due to rib injury
Bellinger (rib) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Matt Citak of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Bellinger exited the Week 14 loss to the Eagles with a rib injury, and the rookie tight end has been limited in practice throughout the week while dealing with soreness. New York didn't get much production from its tight ends when Bellinger was out earlier in the season due to an eye injury, but Nick Vannett, Chris Myarick and Lawrence Cager would all be candidates for more playing time if Bellinger's unable to suit up Sunday.

Stays limited in practice
Bellinger (rib) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bellinger is dealing with a sore rib in the aftermath of this past Sunday's loss to the Eagles, during which he made his second straight appearance following a five-week absence due to a fractured left eye socket. The rookie tight end appears on track to be available this weekend in Washington, but he may need to upgrade to full practice participation Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into Sunday.

Limited practice on tap
Bellinger (ribs) will be a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Per Dan Duggan of The Athletic, Bellinger was "pretty sore" following the Giants' loss to the Eagles in Week 14. While the tight end's status is worth monitoring ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, Bellinger's ability to practice in any fashion Wednesday appears to be a good sign with regard to his chances of playing.

Still dealing with sore ribs
Giants coach Brian Daboll indicated Monday that Bellinger is "pretty sore" after leaving Sunday's loss to Philadelphia early due to a rib injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bellinger hurt his ribs in the second quarter of Sunday's contest when taking a hit after making a catch. He was able to stay in the game but ultimately was pulled in the fourth period. There appears to be some concern about his status for Week 15, though a clearer picture of his availability may be shown by this week's practice reports. If Bellinger misses Sunday's game against Washington, Nick Vannett likely would take over the starting role.

Ruled out of Sunday's game
Bellinger won't return to Sunday's game versus the Eagles due to a rib injury, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Bellinger exited the contest in the third quarter but was able to get back on the field for the Giants' first drive of the fourth. However, the rib issue that initially forced him to the sideline will keep him there for the rest of Week 14, from which he'll emerge with three catches (on three targets) for 19 yards. Bellinger's next chance to play will arrive next Sunday at Washington.

Back in Sunday's game
Bellinger (ribs) returned to Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bellinger missed some time in the second half with a rib injury, but after getting examined he'll resume his status as the Giants' top tight end. He'll be looking to build upon his three catches (on three targets) for 19 yards that he compiled prior to his exit.

Leaves game with rib injury
Bellinger is questionable to return Sunday against the Eagles due to a rib injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: The rookie tight end caught a pass early in the second quarter and was slow to get up but stayed in the game until he left in the second half with a rib injury, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Bellinger caught three passes for 19 yards before exiting and will likely be replaced by Nick Vannett.

Totals five catches in return
Bellinger caught all five of his targets for 24 yards Sunday in the Giants' 20-20 tie with Washington.
Analysis: Playing in his first game since suffering a fractured left eye socket against Jacksonville in Week 7, Bellinger tied his career-best mark with five catches and finished in a tie for third on the team with five targets. The rookie tight end was used exclusively as a short-yardage option -- his longest gain went for just eight yards -- but it was still promising to see his level of involvement after the long layoff. Back in action Sunday
Bellinger (eye) is active for Sunday's game versus the Commanders.
Analysis: After enduring a brutal fracture to his left eye socket back in Week 7 and undergoing surgery to repair it, Bellinger has progressed enough for the Giants to clear him to return. He'll thus miss four games as a result, and the team seemingly is confident he'll be able to handle most of the TE reps after making Lawrence Cager a healthy scratch Sunday. Prior to getting injured, Bellinger scored two touchdowns on 18 targets, four of which occurred in the red zone.

Drawing closer to return
Bellinger (eye) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Commanders, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Bellinger isn't in the clear yet as he draws closer to the end of his recovery from the fractured left eye socket that he sustained back in Week 7. So far, he's missed four games as a result of the injury and subsequent surgery, but three capped practices in a row this week at least has given him a chance to return Sunday. Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday that he's optimistic that Bellinger (eye) will be available for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Though Daboll didn't offer many specifics on the matter, he indicated that Bellinger is "trending in the right direction" as the Week 13 game approaches. Before missing the Giants' past four games with a fractured eye socket, Bellinger had been serving as the team's top tight end, and he'll likely reclaim that role once he receives full medical clearance. Could return Sunday
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Friday that Bellinger (eye) may be able to return to action Week 13 against Washington, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Bellinger has been out since suffering a fractured eye socket Oct. 24 against Jacksonville, though he was not placed on IR. The original timeframe for his return was estimated to be 4-to-6 weeks, and he's coming up on the tail end of that range. Though Bellinger has caught passes the last two weeks, he didn't officially participate in any practices. He'll need to do so this week to have a chance of playing Sunday.

Analysis: Bellinger will miss a fourth game in a row due to a fractured left eye socket. Bellinger (eye) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: The Giants held a walkthrough Monday, so the injury report is merely an estimate. Regardless, it's concerning to see Bellinger remain unavailable due a fractured left eye socket. The rookie tight end will have two more opportunities to return to practice before the team needs to make a decision on his status for Thursday's matchup against Dallas, but as of now, it appears he's trending toward a fifth straight absence.

Ruled out for Week 11
Coach Brian Daboll said Friday that Bellinger (eye) is ruled out for Sunday's game against Detroit, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bellinger will miss a fourth straight contest due to a fractured left eye socket, while also having had the Giants' bye to recover. The rookie tight end was able to resume catching passes Wednesday, a sign that he continues to progress in the right direction, but New York will have to rely on Lawrence Cager, Tanner Hudson and Chris Myarick to hold down the fort at tight end for at least one more week. Bellinger (eye), who didn't practice Wednesday, was able to catch passes on the side while wearing a protective visor on his helmet, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Since fracturing his left eye socket Week 7, Bellinger has missed two games sandwiched around the Giants' Week 9 bye. The swelling around and the double vision within the eye in question has nearly subsided, and the next step in Bellinger's recovery is an upcoming visit to a specialist, which may happen by the end of this week, per Stapleton. Bellinger (eye) said Wednesday that he's improving and will play again this season, but still needs more time to heal, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
Analysis: The tight end worked with trainers off to the side at practices Tuesday and Wednesday, but he'll miss at least one more game coming out of the Week 9 bye. Bellinger underwent successful surgery Friday to address damage to his septum as well as fractures on the lower window of his left eye socket, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Surgery was ordered up for the rookie tight end after he suffered the injury when he was poked in the eye during the Giants' Week 7 win over the Jaguars. According to Fowler, Bellinger believes he'll be able to return to the field in 2-to-6 weeks, but prior reports have suggested a 4-to-6-week timeline may be more realistic. Rejoins teammates for trip home
Coach Brian Daboll said Bellinger (eye) is back with the Giants after Sunday's win at Jacksonville, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Bellinger exited the contest after he was poked in the eye during his only catch (a 13-yarder) just before halftime, requiring a cart to get the locker room. He was seen with a lot of blood on the front of his jersey, and Daboll also told Vacchiano afterward that Bellinger's "eye looks terrible right now." Leads NY pass catchers in win
Bellinger tallied five catches on five targets for 38 yards while scoring a touchdown in a 24-20 victory versus the Ravens in Week 6.
Analysis: Bellinger's longest reception of the day went for a modest 10 yards, but he still led the Giants with 38 receiving yards in the win. Bellinger recorded three catches on three targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Bears.
Analysis: Bellinger's production won't jump off the stat sheet, but he tied for the team lead with three targets and led the team in receptions and yards. The Giants attempted only 16 passes in the game, limiting the potential production of all pass catchers. However, Bellinger appears to be developing some rapport with Daniel Jones (ankle), as he's tallied seven catches for 63 yards combined across his last two games.

Involvement ticks up
Bellinger recorded four receptions on five targets for 40 yards in Monday's 23-16 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Bellinger had only one target through two games to begin his rookie season, but he saw a significant jump in his role against Dallas. He finished tied for second on the team in targets and also showed big-play ability by hauling in a 20-yard reception midway through the first quarter. The Giants are in need of playmakers to complement Saquon Barkley, so it's possible that Bellinger's role in the offense continues to expand.

Hauls in first career TD
Bellinger caught his lone target for a 16-yard touchdown Sunday in a 19-16 win versus the Panthers.
Analysis: Bellinger logged the most snaps (42) among Giants tight ends in the victory, though Tanner Hudson led the group with three targets, two catches and 22 yards. Bellinger made the biggest impact, however, hauling in a Daniel Jones dumpoff in the third quarter and taking it 16 yards to pay dirt. Analysis: Bellinger didn't take long to pass through concussion protocol after suffering the head injury Aug. 28 in the Giants' final preseason game. He earned most of the first-team snaps at tight end throughout the preseason, and while he didn't do much with them, Bellinger could be the Week 1 starter at what looks like the team's weakest position. Analysis: Bellinger suffered the concussion Sunday and has another week and a half to get ready for the Giants' Sept. 11 season opener against the Titans. Analysis: Concussions can have varying severities and return timelines, but Bellinger's appears to be mild considering he was able to take the field just two days after the injury, even if he wasn't doing much during the portion of practice available to the media. While he has yet to officially get the green light, it seems likely that the rookie fourth-round pick will be cleared in time to suit up for the Giants' Sept. 11 season opener in Tennessee.

Concussion confirmed
Bellinger suffered a concussion during Sunday's preseason contest versus the Jets, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Concussions don't follow any set timeline for a return to action, but fortunately for Bellinger he has exactly two weeks to make his way through the league's five-step protocol related to head injuries. In a Giants tight end room light on name players, the rookie fourth-round pick has a great chance to play a prominent role at the position Week 1 and beyond, assuming he's healthy.

May have head injury
Bellinger is under evaluation for a concussion during Sunday's preseason contest against the Jets, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bellinger was seen making his way to the locker room with the Giants medical staff late in the first half. If he's eventually diagnosed with a head injury, he'll finish preseason Week 3 with three catches (on three targets) for 37 yards.

Mixed bag against Bengals
Bellinger caught two of three targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 25-22 preseason win over the Bengals.
Analysis: On the bright side, Bellinger got the start and seems to be the top option on New York's tight end depth chart. The fourth-round pick out of San Diego State made a rookie mistake in this one, though, as he had a catchable pass from starting quarterback Daniel Jones bounce off his hands and into those of Bengals safety Daxton Hill for an interception. That miscue aside, Bellinger looks set to play a prominent role out of the gate, though it's worth noting that he never totaled more than 357…read more

Catches pass from backup QB
Bellinger caught his only target for five yards in Thursday's 23-21 preseason win over the Patriots.
Analysis: Bellinger was listed atop the tight end depth chart heading into the preseason opener, but Daniel Jones didn't look his way during the starting quarterback's two drives of action, as the only pass thrown Bellinger's way came from backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Bellinger will look to make more of an impact in New York's second preseason game Aug. 21 against Cincinnati, as Ricky Seals-Jones (undisclosed) and Jordan Akins remain hot on his heels for playing time at tight end.

Working as No. 1 tight end
Bellinger has been getting the clear majority of first-team work at tight end during camp, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bellinger spent some time on the PUP list in late July, but he's since recovered from a quadriceps issue and may have worked his way into the lead role at tight end for New York to begin his rookie season. Ricky Seals-Jones initially was thought to be the slight favorite to top the depth chart at the position, but he's missed the entire past week of practice with an undisclosed issue. Should Bellinger secure the No. 1 TE role, he'd be an interesting target in fantasy given the team's potential…read more

Comes off PUP list
The Giants activated Bellinger (quadriceps) from the PUP list Wednesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Bellinger was placed on the list just under a week ago with a quadriceps issue, but he appears to be ready to return to practice as training camp gets underway. The 21-year-old is in line to get consideration for the starting role at tight end after he was selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He'll compete with Ricky Seals-Jones and Jordan Akins for work at the position.

Lands on PUP list
The Giants placed Bellinger (quadriceps) on the physically unable to perform list Thursday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Rookies reported for New York's training camp Tuesday, so Bellinger may have sustained his quad injury in the interval since. The 2022 fourth-round pick worked predominantly with the first team during spring practices, and he appears to have a legitimate shot at securing the No. 1 role in the Giants' tight end room. Of course, if Bellinger misses a substantial amount of practices time due to injury this offseason, his chances of starting could significantly dip.
