Invisible in win
Addison was not targeted in Sunday's 21-13 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Addison's goose egg came while quarterback Kirk Cousins managed just 139 passing yards and threw two interceptions, including one that was returned 99 yards for a touchdown. Besides star wideout Justin Jefferson, no Minnesota player caught more than two passes, so Addison wasn't alone in his Week 4 struggles. With a matchup against the high-powered Chiefs next Sunday, Addison could be featured more in order for the Vikings to keep pace.

Overshadowed in loss
Addison recorded six receptions on eight targets for 52 yards in Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Addison had only one target and no receptions in the first half despite Kirk Cousins taking to the air 20 times. That changed in the second half, as he took on an expanded role while working primarily in short areas of the field. While it wasn't his biggest statistical performance of the season, Addison garnered a season-best eight targets and should continue to see his role in the offense grow.

Scores again in Week 2 loss
Addison secured three of five targets for 72 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' 34-28 loss to the Eagles on Thursday night.
Analysis: The rookie was able to leverage his speed to score his second touchdown in as many career games, streaking downfield on a post for a 62-yard TD reception early in the third quarter to answer the Eagles' DeVonta Smith's 63-yard scoring grab less than two minutes prior. Addison has wasted no time flashing his big-play ability, already having leveraged seven catches into 133 yards through his first pair of contests. While Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson certainly represent formidable…read more

Could get more snaps in future
Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips said this week that he thinks Addison's role will expand as the season progresses, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The rookie first-round pick debuted as Minnesota's No. 3 receiver in a 20-17 loss to Tampa Bay, playing 56 percent of snaps while Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn both were above 90 percent. The workload was enough for Addison to have a productive day, as he ran 35 routes and caught four of six targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. Osborn had the same number of targets and a mere 3-31-0 receiving line on 43 routes, but it's nonetheless possible that scheme familiarity and blocking capability…read more

Scores touchdown in pro debut
Addison brought in four of six targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' 20-17 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Analysis: The rookie first-round pick managed to make some noise right from the onset of his pro career, hauling in a 39-yard scoring pass early in the second quarter for Minnesota's first points of the season. Addison finished second on the Vikings in receiving yardage behind his prolific fellow starting wideout Justin Jefferson while checking in third in targets behind him and T.J. Hockenson. Addison will aim to build on a strong debut during a tough Week 2 road matchup against the Eagles on Thursday…read more

Out of concussion protocol
Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Wednesday that Addison cleared the concussion protocol, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: In his return to team drills at Wednesday's joint practice with the Cardinals, Addison mixed in with the Vikings' No. 1 offense in three-receiver sets and even made a nice touchdown catch in traffic, per Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. After spending exactly one week in the concussion protocol, Addison appears to be good to go moving forward, but it's unclear if he'll see action in Minnesota's preseason finale Saturday against Arizona.

Practicing in no-contact jersey
Addison (concussion) is at Monday's practice in a no-contact jersey, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It's a step forward after coach Kevin O'Connell revealed last Wednesday that Addison had entered concussion protocol. The rookie is still in the protocol but at least has made enough progress to participate in a light practice. Addison caught one pass for 22 yards in Minnesota's preseason opener, and regardless of whether or not that ends up being his final appearance in August, he's well on his way to playing Week 1 at Tampa Bay (Sept. 10).

In concussion protocol
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said Wednesday that Addison is in the concussion protocol, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Addison is experiencing some minor concussion symptoms following a fall during a two-minute drill earlier this week and will be sidelined until at least Monday. As a result, he looks set to miss Saturday's preseason contest against the Titans, giving him just one more chance to see game action before the Vikings' Sept. 10 season opener versus the Buccaneers. In the meantime, K.J. Osborn and Jalen Reagor should get extra first-team reps during Addison's absence.

One catch in NFL debut
Addison caught one of three targets for 22 yards in Thursday's 24-13 preseason loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: Addison nearly secured a nice gain with a toe drag along the sideline in the first quarter, but the play was ruled out of bounds. His first NFL catch came on the first play of the second quarter and resulted in a 22-yard gain. Despite this modest stat line in his NFL debut, the 2023 first-round pick projects to play a prominent role in his rookie season. After seeing limited action Thursday, Addison may get more usage in Minnesota's second preseason game, Aug. 19 against Tennessee.

Set to play Thursday
Addison will play in Thursday's preseason contest at Seattle, head coach Kevin O'Connell told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Analysis: It's not clear how many snaps he'll play, but the 2023 first-rounder will get his first game action as a professional. K.J. Osborn is listed as the No. 2 wide receiver ahead of Addison on Minnesota's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason. However, Addison has looked sharp in camp so far with good chemistry with quarterback Kirk Cousins, so he's still the favorite to emerge as the team's No. 2 wide receiver with a significant role.

Not starter on preseason depth chart
K.J. Osborn is listed as the No. 2 wide receiver ahead of Addison on Minnesota's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason. Osborn may get more snaps this season as the team's "F" receiver as he'll frequently be used as a blocker, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Osborn may also be listed ahead of Addison to begin the preseason as the team may give deference to the veteran. It's also possible Osborn plays more snaps on offense this year, but Addison gets more targets. Addison has looked sharp in camp so far with good chemistry with quarterback Kirk Cousins, so we wouldn't be too worried about this early preseason listing. Still, Addison's ability to be used in run blocking could be something to watch to ensure he gets more playing time.

Full participant in camp
Addison was a full practice participant Wednesday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: His first few months as a pro have been more eventful than he'd like, with Addison missing May/June practices due to an undisclosed injury and then in July receiving a citation for driving 140 miles per hour (in a 55 mph zone). He's apparently moved past the injury, and history suggests the NFL is unlikely to suspend him for a speeding violation that doesn't involve alcohol or other substances (especially if he can prove his reported claim that he was driving so fast because his dog had a…read more

Cited for driving 140 mph
Addison (undisclosed) was cited Thursday for driving 140 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Speeding tickets don't usually lead to league discipline, but this one will get the NFL's attention and might eventually lead to a fine and/or a short suspension. The 23rd overall pick in this year's draft was cited around 3:00 a.m. CT on Thursday for speeding and reckless driving, three days before rookies report to Vikings training camp. Addison isn't off to the best start in the NFL, first missing spring practices with an undisclosed injury and now dealing with a legal problem.

In line to return by training camp
Addison (undisclosed) is expected to be healthy by the time training camp starts in late July, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Since getting banged up during rookie minicamp in early May, Addison has been held out of both OTAs and the start of mandatory minicamp. When he's healthy, the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft is slated to serve as a complement to top wide receiver Justin Jefferson in the Vikings' passing game.

Not practicing at OTAs
Addison (undisclosed) did not practice Tuesday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The Vikings' first-round pick at No. 23 overall, Addison was injured during the rookie minicamp earlier this month and is being held out of OTAs for "precautionary reasons," according to coach Kevin O'Connell, who added that the issue is "nothing serious at all." Addison was at least in attendance Tuesday but only as a spectator. Perhaps he'll be cleared for mandatory minicamp next month.
