Out for Week 18
Bresee (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Falcons, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Bresee hasn't returned to practice since sustaining a knee injury in the Week 16 win over the Jets, so it's no surprise he'll be sidelined Sunday. The third-year pro from Clemson had a relatively underwhelming 2025 campaign, recording 37 total tackles, including 2.5 sacks, three passes defensed and one forced fumble over 15 appearances. Expect Jonathan Bullard and John Ridgeway to have expanded roles on New Orleans' defensive line while Bresee and Nathan Shepherd (ankle) are sidelined in Week…read more

Remains out of practice
Bresee (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Bresee didn't practice at all last week and sat out Sunday's win over Tennessee. With a DNP to begin Week 18 prep, his potential to return to action for New Orleans' season finale this coming Sunday in Atlanta is shaky, at best. Should Bresee need to sit out again, Jonathan Bullard and Nathan Shepherd (ankle) would be candidates for more defensive snaps.

Won't play against Tennessee
Coach Kellen Moore said Monday that Bresee (knee) will not play in Sunday's game against the Titans, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Bresee was injured in Sunday's win over the Jets, and Moore said they'll reevaluate Bresee next week to see if he'll be able to play in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Falcons. Bresee has started all 15 games this season, recording a career-high 37 tackles (15 solo), including 2.5 sacks, three pass breakups and one forced fumble on 69 percent of the defensive snaps.

Won't return Sunday
Bresee (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Jets, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
Analysis: Bresee will not return to Sunday's game due to a knee injury, so Jonathan Bullard and Nathan Shepherd should see more snaps at defensive end the rest of the way. Bresee is in jeopardy of missing the Saints' Week 17 road tilt against the Titans on Sunday, Dec. 28.

Leaves game with knee injury
Bresee (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Jets, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Bresee went to the locker room in the second half to have his knee evaluated by medical staff. Nathan Shepherd and Jonathan Bullard should see more snaps at defense end for as long as Bresee is out of the game.

Good to go against Carolina
Bresee (back) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Analysis: A back injury limited Bresee's practice participation Thursday and Friday, but the third-year pro has been cleared to play Week 10 after going through pregame warmups. The 2023 first-rounder has accumulated 21 tackles (seven solo), including 1.5 sacks, three pass defenses and one forced fumble through nine regular-season games.

Questionable for Sunday
Bresee (back) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Panthers, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: The 2023 first-round pick from Clemson popped up on the Saints' injury report Thursday as a limited practice participant due to a back issue, putting his availability for Week 10 in jeopardy. Bresee has had an impressive start to New Orleans' 2025 campaign, recording 21 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks, and three passes defended over nine appearances. If he's unable to play Sunday, Nathan Shepherd is likely to start on the Saints' defensive line.

Continued growth in 2024
Bresee collected 25 tackles (17 solo), including 7.5 sacks, three pass breakups and a forced fumble across 17 regular-season appearances for the Saints in 2024.
Analysis: Bresee's overall production doesn't jump off the page, as he logged just one more tackle than he did during his rookie 2023 season. But, he led the team in sacks and played the most defensive snaps (667) of any defensive tackle for New Orleans. The highlight of his season came in the Week 14 win versus the Giants, when he blocked a 35-yard field-goal attempt that would have tied the game late in the fourth quarter. Bresee should come into the 2025 campaign as one of the leaders for New Orleans'…read more

Game-winning block in Week 14
Breese logged 1.0 sacks and two pass defenses during Sunday's 14-11 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Bresee made the biggest play of the game Sunday when he jumped over the Giants' offensive line and blocked Graham Gano's 35-yard field-goal attempt late in the fourth quarter to seal the game for the Saints. Bresee has logged 7.5 sacks through 13 regular-season games, 3.5 of which have come over his last three outings.

Gets another sack Sunday
Bresee recorded 1.0 sacks during Sunday's 21-14 loss versus the Rams.
Analysis: Bresee was able to put a notch in the sack column for the second game in a row in Week 13, getting to Matthew Stafford on a third down to force a Rams punt late in the third quarter. He enters Week 14 with the second most sacks in the league by a defensive tackle (6.5) behind only two-time Pro-Bowler Dexter Lawrence (9.0).

Good to go Sunday
Bresee (illness) is active for Sunday's game against Dallas, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
Analysis: Bresee was a DNP for Friday's practice due to an illness, but he will suit up Sunday. The 2023 first-round pick played 34 snaps (32 on defense, two on special teams) and did not record a tackle in the Saints' Week 1 victory over the Panthers.

Questionable for Week 2
Bresee (illness) did not practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Bresee popped up on the Saints' injury report with an illness, and he is in jeopardy of missing Sunday's contest. Khalen Saunders (calf) has already been ruled out for Week 2, and if Bresee were unable to suit up, then John Ridgeway would be in line to start at defensive tackle alongside Nathan Shepherd.

Returns to practice
Bresee (foot) returned to practice Wednesday, John Hendrix of Sports Illustrated reports.
Analysis: Bresee was back in action Wednesday after having previously been sidelined due to a foot injury. Now healthy, the 2023 first-round pick will likely serve as a rotational defender once the regular season begins.

Misses practice
Bresee was absent from Saturday's practice due to a foot injury, John DeShazier of the Saints' official site reports.
Analysis: There is no word on the severity of Bresee's foot injury at this point. He is coming off a productive rookie campaign that saw him accumulate 24 tackles, 4.5 sacks and six passes defended across 17 games. When healthy, the defensive tackle projects to boost depth on the Saints' interior defensive line this year.

Productive rookie campaign
Bresee played all 17 games during the 2023 regular season, logging 24 tackles, including 4.5 sacks, and six passes defended.
Analysis: Bresee showed signs of potential stardom during his 2023 rookie campaign. The 2023 first-round pick logged fewer tackles than veteran defensive tackles Khalen Saunders (57) and Nathan Shepherd (50); however, Bresee contributed the third-most sacks to what was a relatively lax pass rush, and he tallied the most passes defended of any non-defensive back for the Saints. He also played at least 50 percent of defensive snaps in eight contests this season, and he played less than 40 percent of…read more

Has first multi-sack game
Bresee recorded three tackles (two solo) including two sacks in Sunday's 24-6 win versus the Giants.
Analysis: Bresee put his unique quickness on display in the middle of the second quarter when he stunted inside and around rookie center John Michael Schmitz to break into Tommy DeVito's collapsing pocket. He'll look to build on Sunday's performance in Week 16 at the Rams.

Back in action
Bresee (illness) was able to log a full practice Thursday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Bresee logged a DNP on Wednesday, but the rookie defensive tackle has overcome his illness and was a full go a day later. Barring any setbacks, the Clemson product should be ready to go Sunday against the Patriots.

Misses practice with illness
Bresee was unavailable for the Saints' practice Wednesday due to an illness.
Analysis: Bresee was a nonparticipant at the team's first practice of the week, and he'll look to make it back to the field prior to Sunday's matchup with the Patriots. The rookie defensive lineman has appeared in all four contests to this point, recording seven tackles, including 1.5 sacks, while also deflecting a pass.

Gets sack in loss
Bresee recorded four tackles (three solo) including a sack in Sunday's 26-9 loss versus the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Bresee was one of just a few bright spots for New Orleans in Week 4. The highlight of his day came early in the third quarter when he punished Baker Mayfield for climbing up too far in the pocket on a third down. He'll line up across from a reeling Patriots offense in Week 5.

Impresses at practice
Bresee (calf) is back at practice and making a good impression, Todd Graffagnini of the Saints' official website reports.
Analysis: Bresee was slowed down by a calf injury earlier in the week, but it looks like he has put that behind him. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound first-round pick made his presence felt in a recent practice when he timed out the snap count and took an attempted handoff himself. He is expected to play a rotational role at minimum for New Orleans on its interior defensive line when the season kicks off.

Misses practice
Bresee was held out of Saturday's practice due to a calf injury, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Head coach Dennis Allen indicated he hopes the injury is only minor, but Bresee did go in for imaging on his calf, according to John Hendrix of SI.com. The Saints' first-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft is expected to have a rotational role on the team's interior defensive line this season.
