Two TDs in win over Cleveland
Carr completed 21 of 27 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 35-14 win over the Browns. He added eight yards on his only carry.
Analysis: The veteran QB found Marquez Valdes-Scantling for another long touchdown, this one a 71-yard catch-and-run in the second quarter, and Carr also hit Juwan Johnson for a one-yard score in the fourth as the Saints put the game away. Carr has been efficient since returning from an oblique strain, posting a 66.3 percent completion rate, 5:0 TD:INT and 9.1 YPA in three games, and even with both Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) on IR he's stayed productive heading into New Orleans'…read more

Tosses two TDs in win
Carr completed 16 of 25 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Falcons. He added 17 rushing yards on four carries.
Analysis: The veteran quarterback flashed a little bit of his early-season magic on deep balls, connecting with Marquez Valdes-Scantling on a 40-yard TD in the second quarter before finding the wideout again for a two-yard score before halftime. Carr and the New Orleans' offense went into a shell in the second half to protect a lead and end the team's seven-game losing streak, as well as give interim coach Darren Rizzi his first victory, but the early fireworks were still an encouraging sign for a…read more

Solid numbers in return
Carr completed 18 of 31 passes for 236 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the Saints' 23-22 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Carr was making his return from a three-game absence due to an oblique injury and put together a reasonably efficient performance despite losing Chris Olave to a concussion in the first quarter. The veteran signal-caller adjusted well and leaned heavily on Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill, who accounted for one-third of Carr's completions and 101 of his passing yards. However, Carr's one touchdown pass went to Foster Moreau, who made an acrobatic 17-yard catch in the back of the end zone early in…read more

Cleared for Week 9
Carr (oblique) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Carolina, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Carr never quite progressed to full practice participation but nonetheless has been cleared to return from a three-game absence. He'll take over a somewhat depleted offense, with WR Rashid Shaheed (knee) out for the season, WR Bub Means (ankle) out for Week 9 and Cedrick Wilson (hip) listed as questionable, not to mention the Saints' continued O-line issues.

Remains limited in practice
Carr (oblique) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Since straining his left oblique Week 5 at Kansas City, Carr has missed three consecutive games and didn't practice until this Wednesday, but he's now cobbled together back-to-back capped sessions. There's an expectation that Carr will return to action Sunday in Carolina, but it remains to be seen how he'll be listed on Friday's injury report, and who else may be available to the offense. Among skill players on the active roster, RB Alvin Kamara remains limited by hand and rib fractures and WRs…read more

Limited in return to practice
Carr (oblique) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice but is still expected to start this Sunday at Carolina, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Head coach Dennis Allen reiterated Wednesday that Carr is likely to return from a three-game absence, after making similar comments Monday. The Saints have lost six straight games while contending with numerous injuries, including three consecutive losses by margins of 18 or more points while Carr was out with the oblique injury. Top wideout Chris Olave is now healthy, but the Saints don't have much else at receiver, with Rashid Shaheed (knee) out for the season and both Bub Means (ankle) and…read more

Expected to return Week 9
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Monday he expects Carr (oblique) to return to the starting lineup for Sunday's divisional contest against the Panthers, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
Analysis: Carr has missed three straight games due to a left oblique injury, but Allen said he logged another throwing session Monday and expressed optimism about his chances of retaking the field Week 9. Allen also said he expects Carr to be on the practice field Wednesday. Spencer Rattler has been ineffective across his three consecutive appearances, culminating in him getting pulled early from New Orleans' 26-8 loss to the Chargers in Week 8 in favor of Jake Haener finishing out the contest. Sitting out Sunday
Carr (oblique) is inactive for Sunday's game at the Chargers, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Carr has been tending to an oblique injury since a Week 5 loss at Kansas City, resulting in three straight absences. He hasn't practiced in the meantime, so his activity level in the coming days may be key for his odds to return to action next Sunday in Carolina. Spencer Rattler will continue to start under center for the Saints in Week 8.

Taking doubtful tag into Sunday
Carr (oblique) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Analysis: Carr was able to do some throwing earlier in the week, but he went down as a non-participant in practices Wednesday through Friday and is on track to miss a third straight game Sunday in Los Angeles. Though Spencer Rattler will pick up another start this weekend, head coach Dennis Allen has previously said that Carr is "very likely" to return to action Week 9 versus the Panthers, per Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. Carr, however, will need to increase his practice activity…read more

Idle for Thursday's practice
Carr (oblique) didn't participate in practice Thursday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Carr was able to resume throwing earlier this week, but with his left oblique strain continuing to keep him from taking part in practice drills, he's trending toward missing a third straight game Sunday against the Chargers. Rookie Spencer Rattler took reps with the first-team offense Thursday and looks on track to make another start in place of Carr.

Unlikely to play Sunday
Head coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that Carr (oblique) is unlikely to be available Sunday at the Chargers, with Spencer Rattler (hip) expected to make a third straight start at quarterback, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Carr has missed the last two games due to an oblique injury, but he was able to take part in throwing sessions Monday and Tuesday, which were intended to determine where he stood in his recovery. He appears to have not made enough progress, leaving Rattler and Jake Haener as the options under center Week 8. Rattler is dealing with a hip issue at the moment, but he looks like he'll be able to play through that injury this weekend.

Completes throwing session
Head coach Dennis Allen said Carr (oblique) took part in a throwing session Monday and will throw again Tuesday before the Saints assess his status for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: While Carr hasn't been ruled out for Sunday after missing the last two games with a left oblique strain, Allen admitted this past Friday that he was more confident the quarterback would be available for a Week 9 matchup with the Panthers. The Saints will see how Carr responds to throwing on consecutive days before potentially clearing him for some practice this week. Likely back no later than Week 9
Coach Dennis Allen said Friday that Carr (oblique) is "very likely" to be available by Week 9 against the Panthers, but Allen is "not sure" if the quarterback will recover in time to face the Chargers in Week 8, Matthew Paras of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Carr has missed the Saints' last two games, including Thursday's 33-10 loss to the Broncos, which Spencer Rattler (hip) exited in the fourth quarter. If neither Carr nor Rattler can play against the Chargers, Jake Haener would get a chance to make his first NFL start. Inactive Thursday
Carr (oblique) is listed as inactive Thursday against the Broncos.
Analysis: The Saints left the door open for Carr to be available Week 7, perhaps as the team's emergency third quarterback, when they listed him as doubtful for Thursday's game. Instead, he'll miss a second consecutive contest due to the strained left oblique that he suffered Week 5 at Kansas City. Rookie fifth-rounder Spencer Rattler will start in place of Carr, while Jake Haener backs him up. Carr's next chance for game action is Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Chargers.

Carr (oblique) is listed as doubtful for Thursday's game against the Broncos, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Carr hasn't been able to practice since he suffered a left oblique strain during a Week 5 loss at Kansas City, but the Saints left the door ajar, however slightly, for him to return to action Thursday. While Carr is most likely to end up inactive for the second game in a row, his status won't be officially confirmed until about 90 minutes before an 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Not at practice Tuesday
Carr (oblique) wasn't on the field for Tuesday's practice, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Carr's continued absence from practice comes as little surprise while he tends to a left oblique strain, an injury he suffered in the Saints' Week 5 loss to Kansas City. While Carr remains likely to avoid a stint on injured reserve, he's still expected to miss multiple games due to the injury, and he won't be helped by the Saints' quick turnaround before a Thursday night matchup with Denver. Carr (oblique) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report.
Analysis: Carr's projected lack of activity to begin Week 7 prep comes as no surprise considering he's expected to miss multiple games due to a strained oblique that he picked up in Week 5. Rookie Spencer Rattler filled in for Carr under center during Sunday's 51-27 loss to the Buccaneers, completing 22 of 40 passes for 243 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while taking four carries for 27 yards. Officially ruled out for Week 6
Carr (oblique) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Carr sustained a left oblique strain in the fourth quarter of this past Monday's loss at Kansas City. After undergoing an MRI on Tuesday, he received a prognosis of multiple weeks, and while an IR stint isn't considered likely, per coach Dennis Allen, this weekend Carr will miss the first of what will likely be numerous games. The Saints are rolling with rookie fifth-round pick Spencer Rattler at quarterback Sunday and perhaps for as long as Carr is sidelined.

IR stint unlikely
Saints head coach Dennis Allen labeled Carr "week-to-week" Wednesday due to the left oblique strain that he suffered in Monday's loss to Kansas City, but the quarterback isn't expected to require a stint on injured reserve, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: At the same time, Allen announced rookie fifth-round pick Spencer Rattler as the Saints' Week 6 starting quarterback over second-year pro Jake Haener. Carr didn't practice Wednesday, and Allen told Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune that the 33-year-old will retain the starting gig once he's healthy enough to play again. Ultimately, New Orleans likely will make a decision on Carr's status for Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers by week's end.

Facing multi-week absence
Carr is expected to miss multiple games due to the left oblique injury he sustained in Monday's 26-13 loss to Kansas City, Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.
Analysis: Though the Saints haven't released the results of the MRI that Carr underwent Tuesday, his oblique injury appears to be significant. While he has played through injuries in the past, the Saints' athletic training staff plans to take the decision out of the quarterback's hands, according to Garafolo. After the game, Carr admitted his condition was "not good," but he said that he will do everything in his power to play in the Saints' Week 6 game against the Buccaneers on Sunday. Unable to return Monday
Carr (oblique) was unable to return to Monday's 26-13 loss to the Chiefs after injuring his left oblique, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Carr did not feel he could be effective enough to stay in the game, and there was not enough time left for the training staff to manage the issue. He finished the contest completing 18-for-28 passes for 165 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The veteran was replaced under center by Jake Haener. Carr's status for Week 6 against Tampa Bay is seemingly uncertain until more information comes out regarding his injury.

Carr is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Chiefs due to an oblique injury.

Quiet again in loss
Carr completed 28 of 36 passes for 239 yards and an interception in Sunday's 26-24 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: The Saints did all their scoring on the ground, as Taysom Hill (ribs) punched in two first-half rushing TDs before Alvin Kamara added one late. After an explosive performance against the Panthers in Week 1, Carr has a less impressive 3:3 TD:INT over the last three contests, and he has yet to reach 250 passing yards in a game in 2024. Analysis: The Saints' offense came back down to earth after scoring touchdowns on 11 of their first 21 possessions of the season. This unit was held scoreless until just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, when Carr found wideout Chris Olave open in the left corner of the end zone for a 13-yard touchdown. Carves up Cowboys in first half
Carr completed 11 of 16 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 44-19 rout of the Cowboys. He added a one-yard touchdown run.
Analysis: The Saints scored 35 of their points before halftime, including all three of the TDs that Carr had a hand in, so he didn't have a whole lot to do in the second half. The New Orleans offense under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has been a revelation to begin the season, scoring touchdowns on 11 of its first 21 possessions, and Carr already has three TD passes of 50 or more yards through two weeks, including a 70-yarder to Rashid Shaheed on a deep fly route in the first quarter and a…read more

Nearly perfect in Sunday's rout
Carr completed 19 of 23 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 47-10 rout of the Panthers. He added 13 rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: The Saints absolutely dismantled the visitors, scoring on their first nine drives of the game before finally being forced to punt midway through the fourth quarter. Carr led the way with one of the most efficient performances of his career, hitting Rashid Shaheed for a 59-yard score on New Orleans' first possession before finding Foster Moreau (head) for a three-yard TD late in the first quarter and Juwan Johnson for a 16-yard touchdown just before halftime. Expected to rest Sunday
Carr is among a number of Saints starters who isn't likely to play in Sunday's preseason finale against Tennessee, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Carr suited up for each of New Orleans' first two preseason games and completed a combined nine of 15 pass attempts for 59 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He's the clear No. 1 quarterback for the Saints heading into the season, so the team will use the final exhibition contest to assess Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler, each of whom is expected to play two quarters Sunday, per Underhill. Sharp in second exhibition start
Carr completed seven of nine pass attempts for 47 yards in Sunday's 16-10 preseason loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: Carr fared better in his second preseason showing after completing just two passes last week against the Cardinals. The veteran failed to reach the 4,000-yard milestone for the second consecutive season in 2023 after achieving the feat four times in as many years prior. The 33-year-old doesn't offer the upside in fantasy he once did, but he still is a reliable starter with little competition at his position heading into Week 1.

Carr is in line to play in Sunday's preseason game at San Francisco, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Not only will Carr and the rest of the Saints' healthy starters suit up this weekend, they'll get a fair amount of run. On two possessions last Saturday in Arizona, Carr completed just two of six passes for 12 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions, so coach Dennis Allen likely will want to see the offense function a bit more crisply Sunday. Carr started the Saints' 16-14 preseason win over the Cardinals on Saturday night and completed two of six passes for 12 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
Analysis: Carr played on the Saints' first two possessions and counted a 10-yard completion to Chris Olave on his second pass attempt as the highlight of his short night. Analysis: Not only did Carr suit up one week removed from suffering a concussion and rib and right shoulder injuries, he was playing without wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (thigh), gadget player Taysom Hill (foot/hand) and rookie running back Kendre Miller (ankle). While he failed to reach 200 passing yards for the fifth time in 13 games this season, Carr tossed multiple touchdowns for the fourth occasion, connecting with Chris Olave and Jimmy Graham for short scores (seven and four yards, respectively) in…read more

Playing in Week 14
Carr (ribs/shoulder) is listed as active Sunday against the Panthers.
Analysis: Carr entered the protocol for head injuries for the second time in four weeks when he endured a big hit from Lions pass rusher Bruce Irvin last Sunday. At the same time, Carr suffered injuries to his right shoulder and ribs. While he was able to clear the protocol for head injuries by Friday afternoon, he entered the weekend as questionable before the Saints removed his designation Saturday afternoon. With his status confirmed for Week 14, Carr won't have his usual allotments of skill players…read more

All set for Sunday's game
Carr (rib/right shoulder) was upgraded to available Saturday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Carr cleared the concussion protocol late Friday, but he had listed as questionable on the Saints' final Week 14 injury report after he aggravated a right shoulder injury from earlier in the season and suffered a non-displaced rib cartilage fracture when he took a hard hit from edge rusher Bruce Irvin in last week's loss to the Lions. Though Carr has now been in concussion protocol twice within the past month, the Saints were evidently comfortable enough with his health after he turned in a…read more

Cleared of injuries
Carr (ribs/right shoulder) was upgraded to available and doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Panthers, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Carr cleared concussion protocol late Friday, but he had still been listed as questionable on the Saints' final Week 14 injury report after a non-displaced rib cartilage fracture to go with a right shoulder injury resulted in him turning in just one full practice this week. Though Carr is now officially cleared for Sunday's game, it's fair to wonder how healthy he truly is, given the litany of injuries he's battled this season along with the fact that he's now been in the concussion protocol…read more

Clears protocol, on tap for start
Carr (ribs/right shoulder) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, but he's on track to start after he cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, a source tells Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.
Analysis: Head coach Dennis Allen said Carr was still in the protocol when he met with the media Friday, but after he was a full participant in the Saints' practice later in the day, the quarterback apparently gained clearance when he met with an independent neurologist following practice. The Saints are unlikely to officially confirm Carr's availability for the Week 14 matchup until the team releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but the 32-year-old is poised to…read more

Questionable after full practice
Carr (concussion/rib/shoulder) was a full practice participant Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: The progression to full participation after limited practices Wednesday and Thursday seemingly confirms that the real issue is whether or not Carr can clear concussion protocol in time for Sunday's game, as his shoulder or rib injuries don't look to be anything that would prevent him from playing. Head coach Dennis Allen said Friday that Carr and Jameis Winston both have taken snaps with the first-team offense in practice this week and both have been prepared to make the start, per Mike…read more

Maintains limited practice activity
Carr (concussion/rib/right shoulder) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Carr has opened Week 14 prep with a pair of limited practices, after the trio of injuries knocked him out early in this past Sunday's loss to the Lions. The concussion appears to be the chief concern for Carr at this juncture, considering that he was previously following the five-step protocol after exiting the Saints' Week 10 loss to Minnesota with a brain injury. He wasn't forced to miss any game action thanks to a well-timed Week 11 bye, but Carr could have a tougher time passing through the…read more

Analysis: Carr was driven into the ground during this past Sunday's loss to the Lions, sustaining a trio of injuries while Detroit was assessed a roughing the passer penalty. On Monday, head coach Dennis Allen told John Hendrix of SI.com that Carr's throwing shoulder appeared to check out fine, but the quarterback was in the concussion protocol for the second time in a three-game span and also had a rib issue. Team not concerned about shoulder
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Carr's right shoulder "seems like it came out fine" after he was forced out of Sunday's 33-28 loss to the Lions, but the quarterback remains in the concussion protocol and still is being evaluated for a rib injury, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Though Carr is still far from optimal health, the fact that he's not dealing with any new injury to his shoulder is at least a bit of good news, considering that he had previously suffered an AC joint sprain to the shoulder back in late September. Carr didn't end up missing any game action due to that concern, but he may face an uphill battle not only to clear the five-step protocol but also to fully move past the rib issue ahead of the Saints' Week 14 matchup with the Panthers this coming…read more

In concussion protocol
The Saints have placed Carr in the concussion protocol following Sunday's 33-28 loss to the Lions, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Carr was carted off the field during Sunday's loss, and in addition to sustaining a concussion he was evaluated for back and shoulder injuries. This is his second time in the concussion protocol in a three-game span, a fact that casts significant doubt on his chances of returning to the lineup in time to take on the Panthers in Week 14. Jameis Winston would be in line to start for New Orleans if Carr misses time.

Getting concussion check
Carr exited Sunday's game versus the Lions to be evaluated for a concussion in addition to shoulder and back injuries.
Analysis: Carr remained on the turf in visible discomfort after taking a big hit from Detroit pass rusher Bruce Irvin in the fourth quarter and needed a cart to get to the locker room. If Carr is diagnosed with a concussion, it'll mark his second one in a three-game span and could threaten his availability for a Week 14 matchup with the Panthers. Jameis Winston took over for Carr under center for the Saints.

Carr (undisclosed) was carted off the field during Sunday's game against the Lions, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Carr was on the receiving end of a huge hit from Lions pass rusher Bruce Irvin early in the fourth quarter. He was in clear pain on the turf after the play and was replaced by backup quarterback Jameis Winston. At the time of his departure, Carr had completed 17 of 22 passes for 226 yards, one touchdown and one interception, recorded two carries for minus-1 yard and lost a fumble.

Eclipses 300-yard mark in loss
Carr completed 24 of 38 passes for 304 yards with no touchdowns and one interception while adding two rushes for seven yards in the Saints' 24-15 loss to the Falcons on Sunday. He also committed a fumble recovered by New Orleans.
Analysis: Carr put together another impressive yardage total -- his fifth 300-yard tally of the campaign -- and showed no apparent ill effects from his Week 10 concussion. However, Carr was already operating without Michael Thomas (IR-knee), and he then lost Chris Olave to a concussion as well while the second-year receiver was in the midst of what was potentially set to be a career-best performance. The Saints removed Carr (concussion) from the Week 12 injury report Thursday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: With the benefit of a Week 11 bye, Carr won't miss any time due to the concussion that he sustained during a Week 10 loss at Minnesota. He will be working without Michael Thomas (knee) for at least the next four games after the wide receiver was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Having said that, Carr has a decent matchup on tap Sunday against a Falcons defense that has allowed the third-most combined touchdowns (21) to opposing quarterbacks this season.

Analysis: Carr made an early departure from the Saints' last game in Week 10 at Minnesota due to a right shoulder injury and concussion. While his shoulder checked out OK after the game, he entered the five-step concussion protocol. Throws two TDs in Week 9 win

Eclipses 300-yard mark in loss

Analysis: Carr put up fantasy-friendly numbers in defeat for a second straight game, but he ultimately came up short at the most critical time of the contest. Analysis: The Saints didn't actually practice Monday after losing to the Texans on Sunday, but they were required to post an injury report ahead of Thursday night's date with the Jaguars. The 32-year-old quarterback still netted a rather lackluster 7.0 yards per attempt, as he completed just 64 percent of his season-high 50 passing attempts. Efficient in blowout victory
Carr completed 18 of 26 passes for 183 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 34-0 win over the Patriots.

Despite limited volume, he managed to record his first multi-touchdown performance of the season on strikes from five and six yards away. Even more positive is the fact that Carr tallied three completions of at least 20 yards, a good sign regarding the health of his shoulder heading into a Week 6 matchup against the Texans.

While he operated with a cap on his practice reps during Week 5 prep, he's far healthier this time around than he was last Sunday against the Buccaneers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. In his first game playing with the health concern this past Sunday against the Buccaneers, he wasn't much more than a checkdown artist, completing 23 of 37 passes for 127 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. Modest showing in Week 4 loss
Carr completed 23 of 37 passes for 127 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed twice for one yard in the Saints' 26-9 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Analysis: Carr averaged a tiny 3.4 yards per attempt, perhaps a result of the veteran signal-caller attempting to play through an AC joint sprain that had him looking very doubtful to play until late in the week. In that context, Carr's propensity for constantly checking down -- the debuting Alvin Kamara led the team with a whopping 13 catches on 14 targets -- is perhaps put into better perspective. Injury likely isn't season-ending
Carr (shoulder) is believed to have avoided a severe injury following his early exit from Sunday's 18-17 loss at Green Bay, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. There's a chance Carr misses time with what is believed to be an AC sprain, per Rapoport, but it doesn't seem to be a season-ending concern.
Analysis: After he was taken down by Packers pass rusher Rashan Gary in the third quarter, Carr eventually was ruled out with what was called a shoulder issue. Getting examined at hospital
Carr, who exited Sunday's game against the Packers due to a right shoulder injury, is set to undergo additional testing at a Green Bay-area hospital, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Carr completed 13 of 18 pass attempts for 103 yards and a touchdown before exiting in the third quarter shortly after being sacked by the Packers' Rashan Gary. The veteran quarterback already underwent X-rays at the stadium, but he'll now get a more thorough evaluation at the hospital as the Saints look to examine him for internal injuries. After a visit to the sideline tent and then the locker room, Carr is tending to a shoulder issue. If he's unable to return, he'll finish Week 3 action with 103 yards and one touchdown on 13-for-18 passing. Jameis Winston will lead the Saints offense in Carr's stead.

Wins despite zero passing TDs
Carr completed 21 of 36 passes for 228 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Monday's 20-17 win over the Panthers. He also had minus-4 rushing yards on three attempts.
Analysis: Carr didn't fare well in his introduction to the low-scoring Saints-Panthers rivalry, but he ultimately did enough to lead his team to victory. He was picked off in the second quarter and failed to produce a touchdown on the team's two first-half trips into the red zone, but Carr's 42-yard pass to Chris Olave helped set up Tony Jones' go-ahead, two-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Carr completed 23 of 33 passes for 305 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 16-15 win over the Titans.
Analysis: Carr was efficient in his Saints debut while distributing the ball to Michael Thomas, Rashid Shaheed and Chris Olave. He averaged 9.2 yards per attempt and particularly excelled while pushing the ball down the field, as he completed five passes of more than 20 yards. He won't have RB Alvin Kamara available for the first three weeks of the regular season, but WRs Chris Olave and Michael Thomas and TE Juwan Johnson are all healthy heading into a Week 1 home game against Tennessee, and even No. 3 WR Rashid Shaheed (groin) recently returned to practice and now has two weeks to ramp up.

Strong start to preseason
Carr completed six of eight passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-24 preseason win over the Chiefs.
Analysis: Carr impressed in his first action as a Saint, leading the team on a 12-play, 80-yard touchdown drive to begin the game. The signal-caller connected with Juwan Johnson, Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas prior to finding Keith Kirkwood on a four-yard score to cap that series. Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas said Tuesday that his relationship with Carr is progressing tremendously, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The 30-year-old wideout is healthy and practicing after ankle and foot injuries limited him to 10 games over the past three seasons. Between Thomas and second-year standouts Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, Carr will have a talented and diverse group of wide receivers for his first season in New Orleans. The move makes Carr one of the top free agents on the market and saves the Raiders $29.25 million in 2023 cap space. Carr has informed the Raiders that he won't accept a trade and is expected to be released before his 2023 contract becomes fully guaranteed Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The move will make Carr one of the top free agents heading into next year and allow him to be courted by interested teams. Carr will be inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers, with Jarrett Stidham getting the start at quarterback and Chase Garbers in line to be elevated from the practice squad to serve as the backup, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Needing about a dozen games to go their way over the final two weeks to qualify for the playoffs, the Raiders have decided to prioritize evaluation of young players over pursuing their minuscule chances of reaching the postseason. Analysis: On a cold and snowy December night, Carr and the Raiders offense found the going tough, despite having all key members of the skill positions available. The quarterback himself now has completed less than 55 percent of his passes in four straight games, resulting in 198 passing yards per game and six touchdowns versus seven interceptions during that stretch. Carr completed 15 of 26 passes for 101 yards and an interception in Sunday's 24-0 loss to the Saints.

Adams, Hollins and Waller all approached the contest listed as questionable, but Carr will at least have his top wide receivers (including Hunter Renfrow) available versus New Orleans, which bolsters his Week 8 fantasy prospects. Carr completed 21 of 27 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-20 win over the Texans.
Analysis: He also lost a yard on three carries. While the Raiders posted a season high in points, most of the damage came from Josh Jacobs (three touchdowns) and the defense (a 73-yard interception return for a TD by Duron Harmon), leaving Carr with little to do other than be a game manager. Carr completed 26 of 44 passes for 303 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Titans.
Analysis: Carr benefitted from game script and was forced to take to the air 44 times as the Raiders attempted to work back from a multi-score deficit. He spread targets around for the most part evenly to his pass catchers, though he showed surprising rapport with Mack Hollins -- highlighted by a nine-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter. Carr completed 24 of 39 pass attempts for 251 yards and two touchdowns in an overtime loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.
Analysis: Carr could have done better against this vulnerable pass defense, but disappointing or not, the box score should be fine for most fantasy investors. The problem is Carr's Week 3 matchup with the Titans might feature a more fundamentally sound defense, and if Carr can't tighten things up, he might find that a challenging matchup. Analysis: The Chargers defense clobbered Carr all day, sacking him six times and hitting him nine times even though the Raiders weren't really attacking all that far downfield. Carr was perhaps overly dependent on Davante Adams, who claimed 17 of Carr's 35 targeted passes, and second-leading pass catcher Darren Waller (four catches for 79 yards on six targets) didn't do much until the fourth quarter. Extension situation uncertain
Coach Josh McDaniels said Monday the Raiders are "trying to build around" Carr but spoke vaguely about a potential contract extension for the starting quarterback, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: McDaniels' comments come less than two weeks after Tafur's report that initial discussions between Carr and Las Vegas regarding an extension had begun. Earlier this month, McDaniels confirmed that Carr will enter the 2022 campaign as the Raiders' starting quarterback, and the team since has added a new No. 1 wide receiver to the offensive arsenal in the form of Davante Adams. Despite significant moves to bolster the roster, though, McDaniel's statement that the signal-caller is "going to have…read more

New target in Adams
Carr gained a new target Thursday when the Raiders agreed to trade for Davante Adams of the Packers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Carr and Adams have familiarity from the 2012 and 2013 seasons at Fresno State, when the latter racked up a whopping 233 catches, 3,031 yards and 38 touchdowns. After eight years apart in which Adams has developed into one of the NFL's top wide receivers, Carr will have the long-coveted No. 1 WR as a member of the Raiders. Following this transaction, Carr currently has WRs Adams, Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards, TEs Darren Waller and Foster Moreau and RBs Josh Jacobs, Kenyan Drake (ankle) and…read more

Will 'absolutely' remain starter
New Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels said Wednesday that Carr will "absolutely" be the team's starting quarterback Week 1 of the 2022 campaign, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Carr appeared in all 17 games for the Raiders last season and finished with a career-high 4,804 passing yards to go with 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while completing 68 percent of his passes. McDaniels, an offensive-minded coach, believes he can get the most out of the veteran quarterback, who has become slightly more efficient over his last four seasons.

Inefficient in playoff loss
Carr completed 29 of 54 pass attempts for 310 yards, one touchdown and one interception while running for 20 yards on one carry against Cincinnati on Saturday.
Analysis: Carr has a history of struggles in colder conditions like these, so it's unsurprising that he got by more on volume than efficiency in this game. The unusually high pass attempt volume can't always be counted on, so it could have gone a lot worse for Carr's fantasy investors. While he'll never compete for elite distinction at quarterback, it's impressive that this year marked the eighth with Carr starting at quarterback for the Raiders, and the last three years in particular have marked a…read more

Manages team to victory
Carr completed 20 of 36 pass attempts for 186 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 35-32 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: It wasn't Carr's finest performance, but he made the necessary throws on the back of a strong rushing performance by Josh Jacobs (26-132-1) to secure the win and a playoff berth for the Raiders. It was a voluminous regular season for the veteran, as he set new career highs in completions (428) and passing yards (4,804). The 30-year-old's 23:19 TD:TO ratio is what held him back from truly taking that next step in fantasy circles. Carr may be asked to shoulder more of the offensive load in a…read more

Leads game-winning drive
Carr completed 24 of 31 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Colts.
Analysis: Carr led the Raiders on the game-winning drive, accounting for 51 passing yards to get the team into field-goal range. He focused in on Zay Jones and Hunter Renfrow as his primary targets throughout the contest, with the former serving as a big-play threat and the latter as a security blanket primarily in the short areas of the field. Not bothered by ribs
Carr (ribs) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
Analysis: Interim head coach Rich Bisaccia said Monday that Carr was dealing with some rib soreness following last week's win over the Broncos, but the Raiders never had much concern about the quarterback missing time. Carr's ability to take every rep in the Raiders' first Week 17 practice puts to rest any questions about his availability for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Tending to sore ribs
Raiders interim head coach Rich Bisaccia clarified that Carr is dealing with sore ribs in the aftermath of Sunday's 17-13 win over the Broncos, but the injury isn't expected to affect the quarterback's availability for a Week 17 matchup with the Colts, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Bisaccia noted that Carr feels the injury the most when he coughs, but the 30-year-old sounds like he'll otherwise be uninhibited while practicing and playing. The Raiders still could look to ease Carr along slowly this week with a limited workout Wednesday and/or Thursday, but the historically durable signal-caller appears at little to no risk of sitting out Week 17, especially with Las Vegas in the thick of playoff contention.

Leads second-half comeback
Carr completed 20 of 25 passes for 201 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Sunday's 17-13 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: It wasn't a particularly productive performance for Carr, but it was an efficient one, and he led the Raiders on two second-half scoring drives to overcome a 13-7 halftime deficit. The 30-year-old QB has failed to toss multiple TDs in six straight games, managing only a 5:4 TD:INT over that stretch, but he's doing enough to keep his team in the playoff picture heading into a Week 17 clash with the Colts.

Tosses TD, sets up game-winning FG
Carr completed 25 of 38 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Monday's 16-14 win over the Browns. He added seven rushing yards on three attempts and fumbled twice, losing one.
Analysis: Vegas' struggling defense stepped up in this one, as the Raiders took a 10-0 lead into halftime thanks to Carr's five-yard, first-quarter touchdown toss to Bryan Edwards. Carr then let the Browns back into the game when he fumbled on a third-quarter sack. Raiders-Browns moved to Monday
Carr and the Raiders will no longer play the Browns on Saturday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Monday at 5 p.m. ET.
Analysis: Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within the Cleveland organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Browns will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. Assuming the Week 15 game is played Monday as planned, Carr and Las Vegas will face a quick turnaround for the team's Week 16 contest versus the Broncos, which is still expected to be played Sunday, Dec. 26 as scheduled.

Two turnovers in loss
Carr completed 33 of 45 passes for 263 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 48-9 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Carr failed to get the Raiders offense moving while the game remained competitive. He led a scoring drive to close the first half, though the field goal made the score 35-3. His lone touchdown came on the first possession of the second half, when he found Hunter Renfrow for a four-yard score. Held in check Sunday
Carr completed 28 of 38 passes for 249 yards in Sunday's 17-15 loss to Washington.
Analysis: While it was a reasonably efficient performance, Carr failed to throw a TD for only the second time all season, and his passing yardage total was also his lowest since that Week 5 dud. The veteran quarterback struggled with a lack of reliable targets -- Hunter Renfrow and Josh Jacobs combined to haul in 18 of his completions -- and that's an issue that isn't likely to improve much in Week 14 against Kansas City.

Big yardage in Big D
Carr completed 24 of 39 passes for 373 yards and a touchdown in a 36-33 overtime win over the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. He also gained 11 yards on two carries.
Analysis: It was a wild day in Dallas as Carr and Dak Prescott combined for nearly 750 passing yards, but the Raiders QB came out on top with an eight-play drive in the extra frame after the Cowboys went three-and-out on their only possession of OT. It's the sixth time in 11 games Carr has topped 300 yards, with Thursday's total marking his best effort since Week 3. He also didn't throw an interception for the first time since Week 6. Tough day in loss to Bengals
Carr completed 19 of 27 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown with one interception in Sunday's 32-13 loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: The 27 attempts tied for his season low, as the Raiders' defense couldn't contain Cincy's running game and get the ball back to its offense. Carr has been picked off in four straight games, compiling a 6:5 TD:INT over that stretch, and he may need to be sharper than that if Las Vegas is going to snap a three-game losing streak in a Thanksgiving Day clash with the Cowboys.

Modest effort in blowout loss
Carr completed 25 of 35 pass attempts for 261 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 41-14 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Carr turned in a decent performance when you consider the Raiders lacked any semblance of a running game (running backs combined for 32 yards on 11 carries). The game got out of hand in the second half, and the Chiefs' secondary focused on shutting down any deep routes. Carr completed 18 of 27 pass attempts for 341 yards and two touchdowns against Denver on Sunday.
Analysis: After averaging less than six yards per pass over the prior two weeks, Carr found a way to get the ball downfield even against a tough Broncos defense in Denver. A 48-yard touchdown strike to Henry Ruggs set the tone in the first quarter, and Bryan Edwards provided a 51-yard reception later. Second consecutive subdued effort
Carr completed 22 of 35 passes for 206 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in the Raiders' 20-9 loss to the Bears on Sunday. He also rushed three times for 10 yards and hurt his neck "a little bit" according to head coach Jon Gruden, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Analysis: After a three-game stretch to open the season during which he put up an NFL-high amount of passing yardage, Carr generated a pedestrian total for the second straight game. The Raiders' offense was listless as a whole against what was considered an inferior opponent coming in, and the veteran signal-caller didn't connect for more than 56 yards with any one of his pass catchers. Analysis: Miami, on the other hand, will be turning to backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett while Tua Tagovailoa recovers from fractured ribs. Status up in air for Week 3
Carr underwent an MRI on his ankle Monday and is uncertain for Week 3's matchup against the Dolphins, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Analysis: Coach Jon Gruden called Carr "questionable" but also said, "I think he's going to be able to play." Carr spent some time on the ground after taking a hard hit during Sunday's 26-17 win over the Steelers, but he managed to stay in the game and lead Las Vegas to a second straight win, which could bode well for his chances of avoiding any missed time. Carr completed 28 of his 37 pass attempts for 382 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Steelers.

He showed particular rapport with Henry Ruggs downfield, highlighted by a 61-yard touchdown and a 30-yard pass that set up another score on the following play. Looking unlikely for Week 16
Carr is expected to face a 10-to-14-day recovery timeline after suffering a "significant groin injury" Thursday in the Raiders' 30-27 overtime loss to the Chargers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The Raiders will have from a longer turnaround for their Week 16 game, but given the timeline provided by Rapoport, Carr looks hard-pressed to make it back for the team's Dec. 26 matchup with the Dolphins. Carr connected on 31 of 45 attempts for 316 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions Sunday against the Colts. He also carried three times for 12 yards and a touchdown in the 44-27 loss.
Analysis: Carr completed an impressive 69 percent of his passes and delivered his third-best yardage total of the season against an excellent Colts defense. He connected on touchdown passes to Foster Moreau and Nelson Agholor before adding a rushing score of his own, but his interception before halftime led to a field goal, and his pick-six in the fourth quarter all but guaranteed his team the loss. This was Carr's first game this season with multiple interceptions. He'll look to bounce back Thursday…read more

Carves up Jets in wild win
Carr completed 28 of 47 passes for 381 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Jets. He added five yards and a touchdown on two rushing attempts.
Analysis: Carr was intercepted on Vegas' first drive but bounced back with touchdowns of nine and 38 yards to Darren Waller to take a 17-13 lead into the locker room. The quarterback took matters into his own hands with a two-yard rushing score for a 24-13 lead in the third quarter, but the Jets took over from there and had Vegas on the ropes until Carr dropped in the game-winning 46-yard touchdown to Henry Ruggs with five seconds left. Fumbles galore in Week 12 loss
Carr completed 22 of 34 pass attempts for 215 yards, throwing no touchdowns and committing one interception during Sunday's 43-6 loss to the Falcons. He also fumbled three times, losing all three to the opposition.
Analysis: It was a disastrous day for Carr, with his third-quarter interception to Deion Jones going for a 67-yard pick-six. The quarterback's three fumbles resulted in a combined 13 points for Atlanta, and he was unable to muster a passing TD for the second time over his past three outings. A Week 13 matchup against the Jets should provide relief, with New York ranking 29th in completions allowed and 28th in passing yardage surrendered to opposing QBs this season. What's more, Jets defensive backs Brian…read more

Steps it up on SNF
Carr completed 23 of 31 pass attempts for 275 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 35-31 loss to Kansas City.
Analysis: Carr resumed his early-season success after a rough three-week stretch that saw the signal caller average just 143.3 yards per game and a mediocre mark of 6.0 yards per attempt. The seven-year pro has shown that he still can play above league average when the game script asks him to make plays down the field. There is a pretty clear pattern of identifying when Carr will provide the volume necessary to be a relevant asset in fantasy. Two of the three games during his recent skid came against…read more

Attempts reduced in blowout win
Carr completed 16 of 25 attempts for 154 passing yards, throwing no touchdowns and no interceptions during Sunday's 37-12 win against the Broncos. He also logged 10 rushing yards on four carries.
Analysis: Las Vegas' ground attack was working in full effect during a dominant divisional win, generating 5.0 yards per carry and punching in four scores. With a multi-possession lead in place throughout the fourth quarter, Carr's passing volume was reduced for a third consecutive outing. The three-time Pro Bowler attempted 25 or fewer passes Weeks 8, 9 and 10, with each outing resulting in a Las Vegas win (and two coming by double digits). Though fantasy production has been down with his defense…read more

Tosses two TDs in Sunday's win
Carr completed 13 of 23 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-26 win over the Chargers. He also gained 14 rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: It's the second straight game in which Carr has thrown for under 200 yards, but the sixth time in eight starts he's tossed multiple TDs. With the Raiders beginning to lean heavily on Josh Jacobs and the running game, Carr might have more low-volume afternoons ahead, but Week 10's clash with a Broncos defense that's been stingier on the ground than through the air could give him a chance to post better numbers.

Manages Raiders to Week 8 win
Carr completed 15 of 24 pass attempts for 112 yards and one touchdown, adding six rushes for 41 yards during Sunday's 16-6 win against the Browns.
Analysis: Carr was held to one or fewer passing touchdowns for the first time since Week 1, but he has Las Vegas situated at 4-3 with a second win over the team's past three contests. The 29-year-old has struggled with fumbles thus far in 2020 (four lost), but a key reason the Raiders are winning is that Carr has limited his interceptions. The three-time Pro Bowler has thrown to a sterling 14:2 TD:INT this season while completing an uber-efficient 71.1 percent of his passes. A Week 9 AFC West matchup…read more

Pair of TDs in loss
Carr completed 24 of 36 passes for 284 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Raiders' 45-20 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also rushed twice for 19 yards and fumbled once, but it was recovered by the offense.
Analysis: Carr and the Raiders appeared to be on their way to a prolific afternoon after the veteran quarterback hit Nelson Agholor with a perfect 20-yard scoring strike on a post pattern early in the first quarter. However, Carr was able to lead only one other first-half scoring march -- one that culminated in a 42-yard field goal -- and added just a one-yard scoring toss to Darren Waller the rest of the way as far as fantasy impact plays are concerned. However, Carr's numbers weren't bad in a…read more

Stellar in upset win
Carr completed 22 of 31 passes for 347 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in the Raiders' 40-32 win over the Chiefs on Sunday. He also rushed for one yard on four carries.
Analysis: Carr authored what is arguably the season's biggest upset thus far, as he played one of his best games yet in his two-plus seasons under the tutelage of coach Jon Gruden. The veteran signal-caller displayed excellent command of the offense while connecting with 10 different pass catchers on the afternoon. HIs three touchdown passes went to Nelson Agholor (59 yards), Darren Waller (five yards) and the returning Henry Ruggs (72 yards), and he led a trio of double-digit play drives. Good showing against Bills
Carr completed 32 of 44 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Bills. He also gained 20 yards on four carries.
Analysis: It took a lot of volume to get there, but Carr put together another strong performance as he attempted to keep pace with Josh Allen, posting a season high in passing yards while completing better than 72 percent of his passes for a fourth straight game. Carr could be headed for another shootout in Week 5 as the Raiders head to Kansas City to take on Patrick Mahomes and the defending champs.

Accurate as targets battle injuries
Carr completed 24 of 32 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 36-20 loss to the Patriots. He also rushed twice for 10 yards and lost two fumbles.
Analysis: Carr couldn't get anything going for most of the first half until taking over with 34 seconds left in the second quarter and proceeding to lead a five-play touchdown drive capped with a one-yard score to Foster Moreau. Vegas moved the ball better in the second half, but Carr couldn't find the end zone until hooking up with Hunter Renfrow from 13 yards out to complete the scoring. While Carr has a tidy 74.0 completion percentage and 6:0 TD:INT through three weeks, there are major question marks…read more

Tosses three scores
Carr completed 28 of 38 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns in Monday night's 34-24 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Carr got off to a slow start, but he and the Raiders offense found their rhythm into the second quarter. The signal-caller built up a streak of completions and was particularly sharp on third downs, with his first two touchdowns coming then. Carr upped the ante for his third score, tossing a one-yarder on fourth-and-goal to start the second half and give Las Vegas the lead. That TD went to tight end Darren Waller, who easily paced the team in all receiving categories, but to his credit, Carr…read more

Throws for 239 yards
Carr completed 22 of his 30 passes for 239 yards and one touchdown in Week 1 against Carolina.
Analysis: Carr just missed a long touchdown when he found Henry Ruggs wide open down the field for a 45-yard gain that ended one yard shy of the end zone in the first quarter. He delivered another beautiful pass for a 23-yard score to Nelson Agholor just before halftime. While Carr took advantage of a weak defense, he looked willing to push the ball down the field -- something his critics often claim he fails to do. He'll look to follow up this performance in a more difficult matchup against the Saints…read more

Locked in for Week 1
Carr has looked sharp throughout training camp, with no hint of Marcus Mariota making a push for the starting job, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Carr established career highs in a slew of passing categories last year, but the Raiders missed out on the playoffs for a fifth time in his six pro seasons, with their offense struggling in the red zone (52.8 TD percentage - 22nd) and their defense struggling in every area of the field. Mariota is the highest-paid backup QB in the league, so while he may not have a shot at the Week 1 starting job, he could be called in as a midseason replacement if Carr isn't playing well or the Raiders aren't…read more

Supported by Mariota
New teammate Marcus Mariota said Tuesday that Carr will remain the Raiders' starting quarterback, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Mariota became the NFL's highest-paid backup quarterback after inking a two-year, $17.6 million contract with $7.5 million guaranteed in free agency, a deal that sparked rumors about a potential job battle. It's worth noting that Carr has a much larger contract, one that would allow the Raiders to clear out as much as $16.1 million in cap space if he's traded or released this offseason, per OverTheCap.com. The 28-year-old may find himself looking over his shoulder if he struggles early in the…read more

Comes up short in heartbreaker
Carr completed 29 of 46 passes for 391 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 16-15 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Carr put up a ton of yards on Denver's top-10 rated pass defense, but the Raiders struggled in the red zone early, having to settle for field-goal tries and getting stuffed at the goal line on a second-quarter possession. Carr finally linked up with Hunter Renfrow for a touchdown with seven seconds left, but the Raiders went for the win and the two-point pass was batted at the line by Shelby Harris. Leads Raiders to win
Carr completed 26 of 30 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 16 win over the Chargers. He added three yards and a score on the ground.
Analysis: Carr did his damage early, leading the Raiders to a 14-7 lead at halftime. He recorded his only touchdown through the air on the team's first drive, connecting with Hunter Renfrow on a short pass that turned into a 56-yard score. Later, on the team's final drive of the first half, Carr capped an 11 play, 75-yard drive with a three-yard scamper into the end zone. Though much maligned this season, Carr will have the chance to lead the Raiders to an 8-8 finish as they take on the Broncos in Week…read more

Goes cold in second half
Carr completed 22 of 36 passes for 267 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Jaguars.
Analysis: The Raiders seemed to have things well in hand when they took a 16-3 lead into halftime, but Carr couldn't get anything going in the second half as the team ultimately lost its final game in Oakland. The passing yards were actually his highest total since Week 11, and Carr could struggle to be even that productive in next Sunday's road game against a Chargers' defense that held him to 218 yards and one TD in their prior meeting this season.

Throws two TD passes
Carr completed 25 of 34 pass attempts for 263 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Titans. He also carried twice for 17 yards in the 42-21 loss.
Analysis: Carr had an excellent first half, leading his team on three touchdown drives to keep pace with Tennessee. He did so in unconventional fashion, completing touchdown passes to Rico Gafford and Foster Moreau. While he finished with a shiny 73.5 percent completion rate and avoided turning the ball over, he wasn't nearly as effective in the second half. Carr bounced back nicely after a poor showing against the Chiefs last week, and he'll look to provide a similar effort next Sunday against the…read more

Falls flat against Chiefs
Carr completed 20 of 30 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions in Sunday's 40-9 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: One of the two picks was returned for a TD by Juan Thornhill, so Carr produced as many points for the opposition as he did for his own team. After a strong start to the season, the 28-year-old QB has a 3:4 TD:INT over the last four games, failing to top 230 passing yards in three of them, and his regression has cost the Raiders a chance to claim the top spot in the AFC West. Pulled early in blowout loss
Carr completed 15 of 27 passes for 127 yards and an interception in Sunday's 34-3 loss to the Jets. He also rushed once for 11 yards prior to being removed in the third quarter.
Analysis: Carr was pulled late in the third quarter with his team trailing 34-3, as coach Jon Gruden didn't see any point in leaving the starting quarterback in. Carr's interception two drives earlier was returned for a touchdown. This dud stunts the momentum Carr had built up with 285-plus yards in four of the previous five games, along with a 9:2 TD:INT over those five games. Accounts for two TDs vs. Bengals
Carr completed 25 of 29 pass attempts for 292 yards, one touchdown and one interception Sunday against the Bengals. He also carried five times for one yard and a touchdown during the 17-10 win.
Analysis: Carr was quite effective as a passer, completing 86 percent of his passes while averaging an impressive 10.1 yards per attempt. He came within a yard of his season high in passing yardage, while his multi-touchdown effort was his sixth in the last eight contests. Carr has thrived in favorable matchups this season and will look to do so again next Sunday against the Jets.

Solid, mistake-free in win
Carr completed 21 of 31 passes for 218 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Raiders' 26-24 win over the Chargers on Thursday. He also rushed once for four yards.
Analysis: Carr did an exemplary job managing the game, and he recorded a touchdown pass for the fourth straight contest when he connected on a nine-yard toss to Alec Ingold as the first half wound down. He then helped lead a pivotal and game-winning 10-play, 75-yard drive late in the fourth quarter that culminated in an 18-yard Josh Jacobs touchdown run. Carr has three consecutive interception-free efforts, and he'll look to keep that streak alive in a Week 11 tilt against the Bengals a week from Sunday.

Analysis: Carr completed 65 percent of his passes while averaging a healthy 9.3 yards per attempt. He completed a pair of short touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to secure the win for his team, giving him a 7:1 TD:INT over his last three games. Carr is in the midst of his best stretch of the season heading into Thursday's home matchup with the Chargers.
