Joe Burrow has been holding the ball a career-high 0.89 additional seconds after facing initial pressure, the 8th-longest this season.

Heroic comeback effort falls short
Burrow completed 28 of 50 pass attempts for 356 yards and three touchdowns while rushing twice for 28 yards in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Cincinnati entered halftime down 24-6 with three punts and two short field goals over the team's first five offensive drives Sunday. Burrow remained unfazed and put the team on his shoulders in the second half, leading three consecutive touchdown drives to even the score at 27. In true 2024 Bengals fashion, the team's next two drives resulted in a pair of missed field goals by kicker Evan McPherson, allowing the Chargers to answer with a late touchdown for the win. Burrow continues to thrive in…read more

Stellar numbers in loss
Burrow completed 34 of 56 passes for 428 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bengals' 35-34 loss to the Ravens on Thursday night. He also rushed twice for six yards and committed two fumbles but lost neither.
Analysis: On the heels of a five-touchdown day against the Raiders in Week 9, Burrow nearly matched his stellar output Thursday while also recording a new season high in passing yards. The 2020 first overall pick connected with Tanner Hudson (three yards) and Ja'Marr Chase (67, 70 and five yards) for his quartet of scoring tosses, with the third to Chase leaving the Bengals just a point shy of tying the Ravens at 35-35 with only 38 seconds remaining. Explodes for five-TD day Sunday
Burrow completed 27 of 39 passes for 251 yards with five touchdowns and one interception while adding three rushes for 11 yards in the Bengals' 41-24 win over the Raiders on Sunday.
Analysis: Burrow had a relatively quiet first half but did throw two of his co-season-high five touchdown passes in that span, one- and 10-yard scoring tosses to Chase Brown and Andrei Iosivas, respectively. However, the 2020 first-round pick would heat up in the second half, connecting with tight ends Drew Sample (two yards) and Mike Gesicki (11 yards) in the third quarter before hitting Gesicki again for a 47-yard catch and run with just under six minutes remaining. The five-TD output matched Burrow's…read more

Unremarkable numbers in loss
Burrow completed 26 of 37 passes for 234 yards with one touchdown and one interception and rushed three times for 15 yards in the Bengals' 37-17 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Analysis: Burrow's day started off encouragingly enough with a two-yard touchdown toss to Ja'Marr Chase to cap off a 17-play march, but he wouldn't helm another drive that culminated in the end zone until well into the third quarter. With Tee Higgins (quadriceps) sidelined, Burrow targeted eight different players overall and connected with seven of them, but Mike Gesicki led Cincinnati's pass catchers with a modest 73 yards. Solid second-half effort
Burrow completed 15 of 25 passes for 181 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 21-14 win over Cleveland. He added three rushes for minus-3 yards.
Analysis: Burrow and the Bengals' offense had nothing going in the first half, as he managed only 81 yards on 15 attempts while being sacked three times. While still far from prolific, he did manage a better second half, which was highlighted by touchdown throws of 18 and 25 yards to record his fifth multi-score performance in seven games this season. It is worth noting that Burrow has just 28 and 25 attempts in his last two matchups while playing from ahead, an indication that his production may be…read more

Makes difference as rusher
Burrow completed 19 of 28 pass attempts for 208 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 17-7 win over the Giants. He added four rushes for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: Burrow got off to a hot start in an unconventional way, as he scrambled for a 47-yard touchdown on the Bengals' opening drive. The quarterback wasn't as impressive as a passer, as Burrow was consistently under pressure and struggled to sustain long drives. Entering the contest, he had multiple touchdowns in four straight games while topping 300 passing yards twice in his last three matchups, so there's no reason to panic over the lackluster showing Sunday night.

Huge performance not enough Sunday
Burrow completed 30 of 39 passes for 392 yards and five touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 41-38 overtime loss to the Ravens. He added one rushing yard on two carries.
Analysis: The five TDs were a career high for Burrow, and most of his production went to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, who combined for a massive 19-276-4 line on 26 targets. Burrow has a dazzling 12:2 TD:INT over the last four games as the Bengals' offense has ramped back up to its peak form, but the team has only one win in that stretch to show for it. He'll try once again to out-chuck his atrocious defense in Week 6 against the Giants.

Efficient in first victory of 2024
Burrow completed 22 of 31 passes for 232 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Panthers. He added one rush for 10 yards.
Analysis: Burrow led the Bengals to three touchdown drives in the first half, two of which he concluded with passing scores. The highlight came on a 63-yard touchdown to Ja'Marr Chase, who picked up the majority of his yardage after the catch. Burrow attempted only 12 passes in the second half due to game script, which ultimately limited his numbers. However, he now has multiple scores in each of his past three games and has topped 250 yards on two occasions in that span. Things will get trickier for him…read more

Throws for three TDs on MNF
Burrow completed 29 of 38 pass attempts for 324 yards and three touchdowns (no turnovers) in Monday's 38-33 loss to the Commanders. He also added four rushing yards on one attempt.
Analysis: Burrow put together his best fantasy performance through three weeks, missing just nine passes in a high-scoring affair. Despite taking his third loss of the season, the Bengals' signal-caller likely earned some late-matchup victories for fantasy managers following Monday's gaudy stat line. Burrow is not far removed from back-to-back seasons with 4,475-plus passing yards and 34-plus touchdowns in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Perhaps this is the game that spurs an underperforming Cincinnati…read more

Loses nail-biter to rival QB
Burrow (wrist) completed 23 of 36 passing attempts for 258 yards and two touchdowns while adding nine rushing yards on six attempts in Sunday's 26-25 loss to Kansas City.
Analysis: Burrow also committed a pivotal turnover when he was strip-sacked for a touchdown in the opening moments of the fourth quarter in a narrow loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. The LSU product saw a marked improvement in his fantasy score following a Week 1 dud against the Patriots. Burrow wasn't his sharpest from the pocket, watching his completion percentage regress to 67.7 following Sunday's loss. Downplays concerns about wrist
Burrow said Wednesday that his surgically repaired wrist isn't affecting his ability to throw downfield, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: Burrow downplayed any discussion of a problem after videos of him flexing his right wrist on the sideline made the rounds on social media after a Week 1 loss to the Patriots. He said he flexes his wrist "all the time", including at home, in order to keep the "joint loose" because "that's part of ligament injuries," Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports. Quiet showing in Week 1 loss
Burrow completed 21 of 29 passes for 164 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed four times for 15 yards in the Bengals' 16-10 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
Analysis: Burrow's outlook coming into the afternoon had some uncertainty attached, considering the absence of Tee Higgins (hamstring) and Ja'Marr Chase's ability to play a full complement of snaps due to an illness and his very sparse practice time over the last month-plus. The connection between the quarterback and his top target proved to be in solid shape -- Chase was on the receiving end of six of Burrow's completions and 62 of his yards -- but the talented signal-caller clearly missed the speed and…read more

No limitations in practice
Burrow (wrist) was a full practice participant Wednesday.
Analysis: Burrow's ability to open Week 1 prep as a full participant was expected, given that he long ago completed his rehab from last year's wrist surgery and even made an appearance in the preseason. Ja'Marr Chase's return to practice is much bigger news, with the Bengals listing him as a limited participant due to "rest" after a prolonged run of absences attributed to contract negotiations. Not in line to play Thursday
The Bengals plan to rest starters, including Burrow, in Thursday's preseason finale against the Colts, Michael Hull of the team's official site and Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirerreport.
Analysis: With the team having just concluded joint practices with the Colts, the Bengals are inclined to rest key players in their exhibition finale. Burrow's next start is thus slated for Sunday, Sept. 8 against the Patriots, with the biggest looming question -- in terms of Cincinnati's offense -- ahead of that contest being the status of top wideout Ja'Marr Chase, whose contract situation remains unresolved.

Burrow and Jake Browning (ribs) aren't expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against Chicago, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Plays on first possession Saturday
Burrow completed five of seven passes for 51 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Bengals' 17-14 preseason loss to the Buccaneers on Saturday night.
Analysis: Given the quarterback's 2023 season was cut short by a mid-November wrist injury, head coach Zac Taylor made the decision to get Burrow some playing time right out of the gate in the preseason opener. The 2020 first-round pick played on the opening possession and led a crisp 12-play, 73-yard march that he capped off with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tee Higgins. In the process, Burrow had nine-yard completions to Higgins and Trenton Irwin, as well as a 23-yard connection with the emerging Andrei…read more

In line to play Saturday
Burrow is on track to play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Buccaneers, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: While coach Zac Taylor wouldn't say how long Burrow is likely to play Saturday, the Bengals' franchise QB is poised to make his first game appearance since Nov. 16, when he suffered a season-ending wrist injury. Once Burrow gets his reps with fellow starters in versus Tampa Bay, look for some combo of Jake Browning, Logan Woodside and Rocky Lombardi to finish up the contest.

Could play in preseason opener
Coach Zac Taylor noted Thursday that for now the plan is for Burrow and other starters to play in the Bengals' first preseason game against Buccaneers on Aug. 10, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: Burrow's looming participation in the contest hinges on everything going according to plan in the meantime, but it does appear that as long as the QB avoids any setbacks with his wrist, the QB is trending toward seeing the field versus Tampa Bay. If that does happen, we'd expect Burrow's reps to be limited before he turns things over to some combo of fellow signal-callers Jake Browning, Logan Woodside and Rocky Lombardi.

Fully cleared for contact
Coach Zac Taylor said Monday that Burrow (wrist) has been cleared for full contact to begin training camp, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: Burrow has spent the offseason cautiously managing his surgically repaired right wrist, and back in June he declined to put a specific percentage on his rehab process. Even if the Bengals still end up giving Burrow rest days during camp and/or the preseason, he's been cleared for all activities save contact since May, so this represents the last substantial step in his recovery ahead of Week 1. Vague on status of wrist
Burrow (wrist) said Tuesday that he'll be ready for the start of the season but doesn't want to put a percentage on his rehab progress, Charlie Clifford of WLWT News 5 Cincinnati reports.
Analysis: Burrow hinted at a more cautious approach with his surgically repaired right wrist than he had with past injuries, noting that he should have "taken more time" after he suffered a calf injury last summer. He averaged just 182 passing yards and 0.5 touchdowns over the first four weeks of the season, but he rebounded in a big way with averages of 296 yards and 2.4 touchdowns over the next five games before he suffered the season-ending wrist injury Week 11. Burrow (wrist), who has resumed throwing, indicated Tuesday that he's fully cleared to do everything that doesn't involve contact, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: Burrow, who is bouncing back from a procedure to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, started throwing again in April, noting that at this stage his focus is on mechanics like his footwork and arm path, as well as the "little intricacies of the throwing motion." Facing changes on offense
Burrow (wrist) is slated to enter the 2024 season with a revamped skill-position group, with Joe Mixon set to be traded to the Texans, Zack Moss inking a two-year deal as his replacement, and numerous shifts in the receiving game, Ben Baby of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Burrow will have to cope with more than just a new-look backfield, though it remains to be seen whether Moss can adequately fill Mixon's shoes, even after he proved so productive filling in for Jonathan Taylor at the start of last season. Tyler Boyd is currently a free agent, while explosive tight end Mike Gesicki is poised to ink a one-year deal with the Bengals, giving Burrow a replacement target in the middle of the field. The QB had surgery Nov. 27 to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, 11 days after suffering the injury in a Week 11 loss at Baltimore. Burrow is set to undergo surgery Monday to repair the torn ligament in his right wrist, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Burrow will miss the rest of the season after Cincinnati placed him on injured reserve Saturday, just over a week after he suffered the injury in the Bengals' Nov. 16 loss to the Ravens. He did not return to the game, though he'll now have 10 days to recover before another pivotal divisional contest in Week 12 against the Steelers. Burrow completed 27 of 40 passes for 347 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and added five carries for 20 yards in the Bengals' 30-27 loss to the Texans on Sunday. He also committed a fumble recovered by Cincinnati.
Analysis: Burrow finished the afternoon with a perfectly acceptable fantasy stat line, but his pair of fourth-quarter interceptions were particularly detrimental despite neither directly leading to Texans points. His first pick came at Houston's 11-yard line, while the second transpired in the end zone and short-circuited what had been an encouraging seven-play, 78-yard drive. Analysis: When asked specifically if Burrow is going to start against the Cardinals on Sunday, Taylor replied in the affirmative, noting that he believes the Bengals offense can operate at a high enough level, even given the signal-caller's current condition. Burrow practiced fully last week and approached the team's Week 4 loss to the Titans without an injury designation, so unless he suffers a setback at practice this week, Burrow will be out there again this weekend, though it's possible key wideout…read more

Can't shake slow start
Burrow completed 20 of 30 passes for 165 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-3 loss to the Titans.
Analysis: Burrow seemed to make progress throughout the week in recovering from his calf injury, as he didn't carry a designation into Sunday's game. However, that didn't translate into his performance on the field, as he failed to get the Bengals' offense moving against one of the more vulnerable pass defenses in the league. Overall, Burrow has now been held under 200 passing yards in half of his four games this season and has gone without a touchdown pass in three of four contests.

No designation for Week 4
Burrow (calf) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game in Tennessee.
Analysis: Listed as questionable ahead of the Bengals' Week 3 game against the Rams after aggravating a calf injury late in the team's Week 2 loss to the Ravens, Burrow ultimately suited up and played 100 percent of the offensive snaps in the 19-16 win over Los Angeles, completing 26 of 49 pass attempts for 259 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. Burrow (calf) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Burrow was listed as a full participant Wednesday on the Bengals' first Week 4 injury report, but his ability to take every rep Thursday was more meaningful since Cincinnati held a traditional practice session rather than a walk-through. Though Burrow probably isn't 100 percent recovered from the right calf injury he aggravated late in the Bengals' Week 2 loss to the Ravens, the quarterback doesn't look as though he'll be in danger of missing any game action after he came out of Monday's win…read more

Analysis: Burrow hasn't been his usual dynamic self this season since suffering a calf injury in the early days of training camp. After aggravating the injury late in Week 2, Burrow was listed as questionable heading into Monday's game against the Rams, but he ultimately suited up. Gutsy performance on MNF
Burrow (calf) completed 26 of 49 pass attempts for 259 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Monday's 19-16 win over the Rams.
Analysis: Burrow was able to power through his lingering calf injury in order to help Cincinnati earn its first victory of the 2023 campaign. The star quarterback was clearly not at full strength, making several errant throws and showing limited mobility in the pocket. The end result was another pedestrian fantasy line for a player who sat near the top of all passing categories over the last two seasons. Active for Monday's game
Burrow (calf) is listed as active for Monday night's game against the Rams, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: Burrow was officially listed as questionable for the contest after being deemed a limited participant in practice Friday and Saturday, but he'll give it a go Monday and is set to work through his right calf strain. It remains to be seen how close the Bengals' franchise signal-caller will be to 100 percent versus Los Angeles, but should Burrow suffer any in-game setbacks, Jake Browning is next in line for the team's QB snaps, with practice-squad elevation Reid Sinnett on hand in reserve.

Pushing to play Monday
Burrow (calf) intends to try and suit up for Monday night's game against the Rams, barring any setbacks, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: Burrow appears to be trending in the right direction for Monday Night Football, but a final word on his status may not come until closer to Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. The star quarterback is officially listed as questionable for Week 3, but he's reportedly continued to feel better as the week has progressed, and he took first-team reps during Sunday's walk-through practice. Burrow (calf) will be listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Rams, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: Head coach Zac Taylor hardly gave a ringing endorsement regarding Burrow's status saying, "We'll see. Still have 48 hours." Burrow was spotted participating during Saturday's practice with a compression sleeve around his injured calf, but it does mark two straight days in which the star quarterback did light work during practice. He'll have one more session to put himself in a position to play Monday against the Rams as he tends to a sore right calf. Overcomes receiver injuries
Playing without three of his top four pass-catchers, Burrow completed 18 of 33 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's win over the Browns. He also had six carries for 10 yards.
Analysis: Tee Higgins allegedly aggravated his hamstring injury in warmups, Tyler Boyd dislocated his finger on the first pass of the game and Hayden Hurst missed the game entirely, so Burrow had to make due with Ja'Marr Chase, Trenton Irwin and Trent Taylor. Analysis: Burrow was nearly perfect in the win, finishing the game off in style with a laser to Tee Higgins to convert a third-and-11 play after the two-minute warning. Burrow was sacked just once, and it's worth noting that the Bengals' offensive line has done a far better job of protecting him ever since the debacle against the Browns on Halloween night. He gets his chance at revenge against the Browns next week at home.

Leads Bengals to gritty win
Burrow completed 22 of 37 passes for 270 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the Bengals' 20-16 win over the Titans on Sunday. He also had nine carries for 32 yards.
Analysis: It wasn't a banner fantasy day for Burrow, but he protected the ball (zero turnovers) and was only sacked once, despite not having the services of Ja'Marr Chase (hip) and Joe Mixon (concussion). He'll have to put up bigger numbers next week when the Bengals host the Chiefs.

Tosses four touchdowns
Burrow was superb Sunday against the Steelers, completing 24 of 39 passes for 355 yards and four touchdowns. He did throw two tipped interceptions and was sacked twice.
Analysis: If there was a downside to Burrow's performance, it's that too many passes got tipped at the line of scrimmage, leading to the two turnovers. But he overcame that to lead the Bengals on multiple long scoring drives, connecting for over 20 yards with six different pass catchers. A tough road matchup awaits at Tennessee, where Burrow was sacked nine times in the playoffs last season.

Overshadowed by Mixon
Burrow completed 22 of 28 passes or 206 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 42-21 win over the Panthers. He added four rushes for nine yards and an additional score.
Analysis: Burrow had a strong bounceback performance following a disappointing primetime effort in Week 8. His day was highlighted by a one-yard rushing touchdown early in the second quarter and a 12-yard scoring pass to Joe Mixon. Burrow missed out on a bigger day as Mixon accounted for five of Cincinnati's six touchdowns and because the Bengals were able to coast to a victory after jumping out to a 35-0 lead before halftime. Haunted by Chase's absence
Burrow completed 25 of 35 passes for 232 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Monday's 32-13 loss to the Browns. He added two yards on one rushing attempt and lost a fumble.
Analysis: Burrow had an interception in the first quarter and a fumble in the second as the Bengals were shut out in the first half. He finally stemmed the bleeding with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd early in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late at that point, as the Bengals were trailing 25-0. Burrow completed 34 of 42 passes for 481 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 35-17 win over the Falcons. He added three rushes for 20 yards and an additional score.
Analysis: Burrow topped 37 passes for the first time since Week 1 and was incredibly efficient with his opportunity. He torched the Falcons' defense for nine completions of at least 20 yards, highlighted by touchdowns of 60, 41 and 32 yards. Analysis: Burrow wore teammate Ja'Marr Chase's college uniform while entering the Superdome -- the location where the duo won a national championship with LSU -- and the star players put on a clinic against New Orleans on the road. The 25-year-old led the game-winning drive to get the Bengals back to 3-3 while also restoring faith in his fantasy managers following a down game against Baltimore last week. Goes for two scores Sunday
Burrow completed 24 of 35 pass attempts for 217 yards, a touchdown and an interception while adding three rushes for six yards and another score in Sunday's 19-17 loss to Baltimore.
Analysis: The Ravens were intent on not giving up the deep ball to Burrow and his favorite target, Ja'Marr Chase (seven catches for 50 yards), leading to punts on the Bengals' first four drives of the contest. The 25-year-old continued to take what the defense gave him, keeping his team in the game until the final drive without his usual gaudy passing totals. Burrow completed 20 of 31 passes for 287 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bengals' 27-15 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night. He also rushed five times for six yards.
Analysis: Burrow had the benefit of improved pass protection for the second time in four days, and his final line is a byproduct of the extra time he had to scan the field. Burrow averaged an impressive 9.3 yards per attempt and was only sacked once, finishing with a quarterback rating of 115.9 for the night. Analysis: After getting sacked seven times in a Week 1 loss to the Steelers, Burrow was running for his life once again in Dallas and got taken down six more times. Despite the issues in front of him on the offensive line, the third-year QB still rallied the Bengals in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 17-17 with less than four minutes left, only for the Cowboys to kick a game-winning FG as time expired. Major struggles in home loss
Burrow completed 33 of 53 pass attempts for 338 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Steelers while also losing a fumble.
Analysis: Burrow was gutsy enough in what must have been a painful game (seven sacks and 11 hits), but he simply did not play well. While he dealt with an unacceptable amount of pressure, it's also true he didn't handle most of those situations well. Burrow (appendix) returned to team drills Wednesday but acknowledged he would still like to add weight before Week 1, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: While holding a news conference Wednesday for the first time since requiring an appendectomy July 26, Burrow relayed that he spent a few days in the hospital after a ruptured appendix necessitated the emergency procedure. He returned to 7-on-7 work Monday and is now participating in team drills, but he's not necessarily back to 100 percent strength less than a month after surgery. Logs 7-on-7 reps Sunday
Burrow (appendix) participated in 7-on-7 drills during his return to practice Sunday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: In his first practice since having his appendix removed, Burrow was eased back into the mix, but he actually did more Sunday than coach Zac Taylor had anticipated. "We talked about doing two reps in 7-on-7," Taylor noted afterward. "And then he took 10. That's how it goes sometimes." Though it's uncertain when Burrow will resume practicing fully, the Bengals' franchise QB has ample time to ready himself for the team's Week 1 contest, at home against the Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Burrow (appendix) is considered day-to-day and has been present for meetings at training camp, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Burrow presumably was able to continue working on the mental side of the game within a few days of undergoing surgery last Tuesday (July 26). Early reports suggested he could be miss two or three weeks, but it won't be shocking if it's a bit less than that. The relatively minor surgery, an appendectomy, shouldn't end up having too much impact on either his perceived fantasy value or his in-season performance.

Analysis: Taylor said he isn't too worried about Burrow's current absence because new offense installs will be addressed later in training camp, per Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer. Burrow (knee) is undergoing surgery to remove his appendix and will miss some practice time in the coming weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Given the typical recovery timeline for an appendix removal, Burrow should be back at practice around mid-August or even a bit sooner. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday that Burrow (knee) has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: According to Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site, Burrow is also nursing a pinkie injury, but he shouldn't require offseason surgery to address either issue. Solid playoff debut
Burrow completed 24 of 34 pass attempts for 244 yards and two touchdowns against Las Vegas on Saturday.
Analysis: The numbers are modest at a glance, but the Bengals controlled this game from start to finish and it's possible that they could have done more if they needed to. With that said, Burrow did most of his damage early, throwing one touchdown to each of Tyler Boyd and C.J. Uzomah in roughly the first third of the game and not doing a whole lot afterward. Makes most of limited volume
Burrow completed 15 of 22 pass attempts for 157 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 15-10 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: As indicated by the score, this matchup was dominated by the defensive units. As a result, Burrow's volume was limited, and his 22 pass attempts were his lowest mark since Week 3. Even so, he was fairly efficient when he did take to the air, with the highlight of his performance being a 56-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd late in the third quarter. Per Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site, Burrow is expected to follow a similar pattern to last week, when he followed an absence from practice Wednesday with a limited session Thursday and full participation Friday.

Big numbers in tough loss
Burrow completed 25 of 34 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: The Bengals' offense was sluggish through three quarters before Burrow caught fire in the fourth, hitting Ja'Marr Chase for a pair of scores to force extra time and then leading Cincy to a field goal on the opening possession of OT. However, San Francisco responded with a game-winning touchdown when they got their turn with the ball. Clear for Week 14
Burrow (finger) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: Burrow emerged from Week 13 action versus the Chargers with a balky pinkie finger, which he dislocated but was able to play through en route to 24-for-40 passing for 300 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. While he didn't practice Wednesday and was a limited participant Thursday, he capped the week with a full session Friday, clearing him to suit up Sunday. Limited in return to practice
Burrow (finger/knee) logged a limited practice Thursday, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Burrow was listed as a non-participant Wednesday, so the QB's return to a limited session bodes well for his chances of being cleared to start Sunday's game against the 49ers. Per Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site, Burrow "appeared to throw free and easy" during the early portion of Thursday's practice, as he continue to manage a pinkie issue on his throwing hand. No practice reps Wednesday
Burrow was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice with finger and knee injuries, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Per Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site, Burrow was held out of drills Wednesday so he could rest the dislocated pinkie finger on his throwing hand. That said, at this stage Burrow maintains that he doesn't foresee his finger injury or the knee issue preventing him from playing Sunday against the 49ers.

Plans to work Wednesday
Burrow said Wednesday that his dislocated right pinkie finger is feeling better, despite a degree of swelling, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Burrow -- who hasn't thrown since Sunday's loss to the Chargers -- added that he plans to practice a little bit Wednesday. Whether that translates into him officially being listed as a limited participant won't be known until the Bengals release their first official Week 14 injury report, but in any case, the signal-caller said he doesn't expect to sit out this weekend's game against the 49ers, according to Baby.

Could be limited in practice
Head coach Zac Taylor said Burrow could be limited in practice for the start of Week 14 prep after dislocating his right pinkie finger in Sunday's 41-22 loss to the Chargers, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: According to Ben Baby of ESPN.com, Taylor noted that Burrow "feels good" after playing through the injury Sunday, but the second-year quarterback could get some extra maintenance early on this week in any case to relieve some of the pressure on his pinkie finger. Unless the finger swells up and presents more difficulty with his throwing in practice than expected, Burrow doesn't look to be at any major risk of missing the Bengals' upcoming game against the 49ers this weekend.

Suffers finger injury in loss
Burrow completed 24 of 40 passes for 300 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in the Bengals' 41-22 loss to the Chargers on Sunday. He also rushed once for six yards and lost a fumble, the latter a first-quarter play on which he suffered a a dislocated pinkie finger, Marisa Contipelli of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Burrow's injury ultimately didn't lead to a subpar fantasy day by any stretch, even though the two interceptions were certainly a blemish. However, the 2020 first overall pick hit the 300-yard mark for the third time this season and extended his streak with at least one touchdown pass to three games when he connected with Tee Higgins on a 29-yard scoring toss to start a comeback from 24-0. Responsible for two TDs in win
Burrow completed 20 of 24 pass attempts for 190 yards, a touchdown and an interception while scoring another touchdown on an eight-yard rush in Sunday's 41-10 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: The Bengals' defense and rushing attack led the charge in an important win over an AFC North rival, but Burrow was able to get in on the ground onslaught with a touchdown of his own. It was the 24-year-old's first rushing score of the season after posting three in his shortened rookie campaign. Rides running game to win
Burrow completed 20 of 29 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 32-13 win over the Raiders. He gained 11 rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: The yardage total was his lowest of the season, and the second-year QB also lost a fumble, but Burrow didn't have to do too much on a day in which Joe Mixon was running wild. After tossing multiple TDs in eight straight games to begin the season, Burrow has managed only one score in his last two, a slump he'll look to break out of in Week 12 against the Steelers.

Analysis: Burrow led Cincinnati down to Cleveland's three-yard line on the opening drive but then threw a disastrous interception that Browns cornerback Denzel Ward took the other way for a touchdown. The Bengals' offense bounced back on the ensuing drive, marching downfield again and this time punching it in with an 11-yard Joe Mixon rushing touchdown to tie the game. He had another sequence with a big play to Higgins accompanied by a touchdown pass in the third quarter, following up a 54-yard gain with an eight-yard score to Joe Mixon on the very next play. Burrow (throat) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's contest in Detroit, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Following the Bengals' Week 5 loss to the Packers, Burrow paid a visit to the hospital as a precaution due to a throat contusion. While he practiced in full all week, he had limitations on one front, as coach Zac Taylor told Baby on Wednesday that Burrow would operate under 'voice rest.' Burrow completed 26 of 38 passes for 281 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 25-22 overtime loss to the Packers. He also had a successful two-point conversion pass.
Analysis: Burrow found backup tailback Samaje Perine for a four-yard touchdown to begin his day, then salvaged an otherwise modest first-half performance by exploding for a 70-yard touchdown to Ja'Marr Chase on a scramble drill just before halftime. Burrow took 53 percent of Sunday's snaps under center after averaging around 80 percent of his snaps in shotgun formation last year, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports.
Analysis: The change possibly signals the Bengals are more committed to the running game this season, particularly in OL coach Frank Pollack's wide zone-centric scheme, and that taking snaps under center suggests play-action can be more effective. Of course, it's also easier to emphasize the run and taking snaps under center when you already have the lead, as the Bengals did for most of the second half last week.

Burrow played the opening series in the Bengals' 29-26 preseason loss to the Dolphins on Sunday, misfiring on his only pass attempt.
Analysis: Head coach Zac Taylor apparently didn't want to deviate from his plan of only having Burrow handle the opening possession, regardless of how short that drive ended up being. As it turned out, the Bengals actually went backwards with the second-year signal-caller under center due to an unnecessary roughness penalty, and Burrow's only attempt, which went to Ja'Marr Chase, was incomplete due to a drop on the rookie receiver's part. Analysis: While the quarterback is poised to get in some game action for the first time since he sustained a season-ending knee injury last November, Burrow isn't expected to draw extended work Sunday. With that in mind, head coach Zac Taylor acknowledged that the 2020 No. 1 overall pick's stint against Miami will be "very limited." No go for preseason opener
Burrow (knee) will not play in the preseason opener next week, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.
Analysis: This shouldn't be a surprise whatsoever given the team's cautious nature regarding its franchise quarterback. Burrow has struggled through the first few days of training camp to gain any sort of confidence in his pocket awareness, a seemingly natural progression in his return from a torn ACL and MCL. Offense struggling mightily
Burrow and the Cincinnati offense have struggled to move the ball in training-camp practices, with the Bengals' defensive line often putting intense pressure on the team's quarterbacks, Jay Morrison and Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: There are two big concerns about Burrow heading into 2021; how mobile he is after recovering from a torn ACL and MCL, and how well his offensive line will be able to protect him. Thus far, the second concern hasn't been put to rest. It's not unusual for defenses to be ahead of offenses at this time of year, but the way Dehner describes the imbalance -- ("... most lopsided practice in a long time ...") -- is certainly disturbing.

In 10 appearances with the Bengals as a rookie, Burrow recorded 2,688 passing…read more

Torn ACL confirmed
The initial diagnosis has confirmed a torn ACL for Burrow, who will get an MRI on Monday to look for possible additional damage, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Even if no additional damage is found, the torn ACL alone will end Burrow's season, and he'll have to avoid any setbacks in his recovery to be ready by the start of next season. The 2020 first overall pick was on pace to set multiple rookie passing records and finishes his season with 2,688 passing yards and a 13:5 TD:INT in 10 games.

Torn ACL feared
The Bengals believe Burrow (knee) suffered a torn left ACL during Sunday's 20-9 loss to Washington, Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: Burrow's left leg bent awkwardly while taking a sack Sunday, and Cincinnati's initial diagnosis for his injury is a season-ending ACL tear. The rookie quarterback will receive an MRI to confirm the severity of his injury Monday, but given that he wrote "see ya next year" in a message shared via his official Twitter account, it looks like Burrow is destined to miss the rest of the 2020 season. Ryan Finley finished Sunday's loss in Burrow's stead, and Cincinnati also has Brandon Allen on the…read more

Appears done for the season
Ben Baby of ESPN.com relays that Burrow's first comments since injuring his left knee Sunday against Washington appear to rule the QB out for the rest of the season.
Analysis: We'll look for added details and official confirmation of such an outcome, but either way, it doesn't look good for the young signal-caller, who tweeted in the aftermath of his injury "see ya next year." Ryan Finley took over for Burrow on Sunday and Brandon Allen is on Cincinnati's practice squad.

Carted off the field Sunday
Burrow (left knee) was carted off the field during Sunday's game against Washington, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: At first glance this looks like an injury that will cause the rookie QB to miss time. Ryan Finley is now slated to finish Sunday's game in place of Burrow.

Limited in Pittsburgh
Burrow completed 21 of 40 passes for 213 yards and a touchdown in Week 10 against the Steelers.
Analysis: Burrow moved the Bengals' offense down the field effectively on their first drive of the second quarter, connecting with three different receivers before tossing a two-yard touchdown to Tee Higgins. However, those were the team's final points until the middle of the fourth quarter -- and that drive that was largely powered by the run. The end result was one of Burrow's worst games as a pro, as he logged his lowest yardage total since Week 5. Burrow will work to bounce back against Washington in…read more

Produces efficiently in win
Burrow completed 26 of 37 pass attempts for 249 yards and two touchdowns while adding nine yards on three carries during Sunday's 31-20 win over the Titans.
Analysis: Burrow completed 70 percent of his pass attempts while spreading the ball around to seven different receivers, despite windy conditions. He completed touchdown passes to Giovani Bernard and Tyler Boyd while avoiding a turnover for the first time in the last five games. Burrow has made the most of favorable matchups over the last two games, piling up 455 yards and five touchdowns with just one interception. He will now take the bye week to further improve his grasp of the offense before a…read more

Tops 400 yards in loss
Burrow completed 35 of 47 passes for 406 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 37-34 loss to Cleveland. He also rushed six times for 34 yards and a touchdown and fumbled three times, losing one.
Analysis: Burrow got the offense down to Cleveland's two-yard line on the opening drive before throwing an interception on 1st-and-goal. The rookie first overall pick bounced back by capping the following drive with his third rushing touchdown, using his 6-foot-3, 221-pound frame to push the pile on the second of back-to-back quarterback sneak calls from the one-yard line. He added an 11-yard passing score to Tyler Boyd in the final minute of the first half, and touchdowns of 16 yards to Tee Higgins and…read more

Can't protect early lead
Burrow completed 25 of 39 passes for 313 yards and one interception while adding two yards on three carries during Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Burrow unexpectedly enjoyed a large early lead and deferred to the run game for much of the first half. Unfortunately, the Colts clawed their way back in the game, eventually taking the lead, and Burrow's interception on his last drive was the nail in the coffin. The rookie has now gone back-to-back weeks without a touchdown pass and owns a 6:4 TD:INT for the season despite reaching the 300-yard mark in four of the last five games. Burrow will look to take advantage of a rare favorable matchup…read more

Shut down by Ravens
Burrow went 19-for-30 passing with 183 yards, no touchdowns and one interception during Sunday's 27-3 loss to Baltimore. He also ran for 10 yards on three carries, fumbling twice and committing one lost fumble.
Analysis: It was a turbulent outing for the No. 1 overall pick in his debut against Wink Martindale's defense, as he was held to a season low in passing, also failing to record a TD in a game for the first time in his career. Burrow committed multiple turnovers for the first time as an NFL player, in large part because the Ravens recorded an astronomical seven sacks on the young signal-caller. Burrow next faces a Colts defense that entered the weekend allowing a league-low 159.2 passing yards per game…read more

Not hitting deep balls
Burrow has connected on only one of his 20 attempts on passes thrown 20 or more yards beyond the line of scrimmage through four games, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: It's a historically low percentage of completions of that type, since the stat first started being tracked, but it's not all attributable to Burrow's failings. He has missed on some of those throws, but he's also not been helped by his receivers in hauling those passes, plus opposing defenses have been trying to force him to throw more intermediate passes.

Throws for 300 in first win
Burrow completed 25 of 36 passes for 300 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 33-25 win over the Jaguars. He added four carries for 11 yards.
Analysis: Burrow threw for 300 yards for a third consecutive week en route to his first NFL win. He had a would-be 16-yard touchdown to Tyler Boyd wiped out by a holding penalty in the first quarter, and the Bengals ended up settling for a field goal for the game's first points. Burrow was intercepted on 3rd-and-goal from the 1-yard line on the next possession, though it's tough to put that one on the quarterback, as Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack wrestled the ball away from tight end Drew Sample in the…read more

Breaks 300-yard mark again
Burrow completed 31 of 44 pass attempts for 312 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 23-23 tie against the Eagles.
Analysis: The No. 1 overall pick was running for his life throughout the contest as he absorbed a jaw-dropping 18 QB hits and eight sacks during the 70-minute showdown. Just as he has throughout the early stages of his NFL career, however, Burrow maintained his composure, orchestrating a 12-play scoring drive in the fourth quarter that provided his team with a seven-point lead at the 3:05 mark. Cincinnati's defense could not hold Philadelphia on the penultimate drive of regulation, and the game remained…read more

Strong numbers in loss
Burrow completed 37 of 61 passes for 316 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bengals' 35-30 loss to the Browns on Thursday. He also rushed seven times for 19 yards and had two fumbles, losing one.
Analysis: The rookie finished with a strong line despite much of his success coming in the shorter areas of the field, as evidenced by his 5.2 yards per attempt. Burrow did appear to take another step forward in his development through sheer volume of reps if nothing else, and he connected with three different pass catchers in C.J. Uzomah (Achilles), Mike Thomas and Tyler Boyd for his trio of scoring tosses. Burrow's last two scoring drives impressively covered extended stretches of the field, as he led…read more

Shows off wheels in Week 1
Burrow completed 23 of 36 passes for 193 yards and one interception in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Chargers and ran the ball eight times for 46 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: The rookie struggled early behind a porous Bengals offensive line, getting sacked three times in the first half, but Burrow still made an impact late in the first quarter by taking a designed QB draw 23 yards for his team's only TD. He then found his rhythm as a passer late and appeared to lead Cincy to a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter, only for his three-yard TD pass to A.J. Green with 11 seconds left on the clock to get overturned when Green was flagged for offensive pass…read more

Leading healthy offense
Burrow will lead a healthy offense into Sunday's game against the Chargers, as the Bengals don't have any offensive players on their Week 1 injury report.
Analysis: Some might call it a minor miracle for both A.J. Green and John Ross to be healthy at the same time. In any case, the Bengals also have Tyler Boyd, Auden Tate and Tee Higgins at wide receiver, plus Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard in the backfield and C.J. Uzomah at tight end. Burrow has no shortage of options in the passing game, though it could be tricky to find open targets against a Chargers cornerback group comprised of Casey Hayward, Chris Harris and Desmond King.

Signs rookie deal
Burrow has agreed to terms with the Bengals a four-year contract worth $36.1 million, ESPN's Ben Baby reports.
Analysis: Per the report, even before he was officially under contract, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft spent the offseason prepping for the opportunity to serve as the team's Week 1 starting QB. An offseason minus on-field reps adds a degree of difficulty to Burrow's transition to the pro game, but the LSU product will at least have a solid collection of wideouts to throw to once training camp practices commence. The group is headed by A.J. Green, with Tyler Boyd, John Ross and rookie Tee…read more
