Inactive Sunday
White (quadricep) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Analysis: With both White and Alexander Mattison (ankle) unavailable, Ameer Abdullah is next up at running back for the Raiders on Sunday, while Dylan Laube and practice-squad elevation Sincere McCormick are also on hand to mix in. The next chance for White and/or Mattison to return to the lineup occurs this coming Friday, when the Raiders travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs in a 3:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Doubtful for Week 12
White (quadricep) will be listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The same goes for Alexander Mattison (ankle), which sets the stage for the Raiders to likely be without both players this weekend. If the duo is inactive versus Denver, Ameer Abdullah would be the expected starter at running back for Las Vegas, according to Reed, with Dylan Laube and practice-squad member Sincere McCormick also in the mix, per Vic Tafur of The Athletic.

Remains sidelined Thursday
White (quadricep) didn't practice Thursday.
Analysis: With White and Alexander Mattison (ankle) having missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday, the Raiders' backfield could be shorthanded Sunday against the Broncos. If neither of the two can play this weekend, Ameer Abdullah and Dylan Laube would be in line to see expanded roles in Week 12, while Sincere McCormick and/or Chris Collier would be potential practice squad elevations.

Not practicing Wednesday
White (quadricep) won't practice Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Alexander Mattison (ankle) was also sidelined for Wednesday's practice, making the statuses of both backs worth tracking as Sunday's game against the Broncos approaches. For now, the healthy running backs on the Raiders' active roster are Ameer Abdullah and Dylan Laube. White carried five times for nine yards across 21 snaps in this past Sunday's 34-19 loss to the Dolphins before exiting with the quad injury.

Exits Sunday's game
White left Sunday's game against the Dolphins due to a quad injury.
Analysis: With fellow RB Alexander Mattison having sustained an ankle injury Sunday, Ameer Abdullah is left to handle the Raiders' backfield duties versus Miami. Prior to his exit, White carried five times for nine yards.

Rushing TD on minimal volume
White rushed six times for 10 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders' 41-24 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.
Analysis: White didn't see much of an uptick in volume despite head coach Antonio Pierce's recent remarks about getting him more involved, but he did make good on a red-zone opportunity by capping off the opening drive of the game with a one-yard touchdown run. As his final line implies, White did next to nothing the rest of the way, however, and he's now gone three straight games with single-digit carries. With backfield mate Alexander Mattison logging three more rush attempts Sunday, it appears White…read more

Cleared to play Week 9
White (quadricep) is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Analysis: White missed consecutive games in Weeks 5 and 6 due to a groin issue, but he had logged limited snaps in both of the past two contests behind lead back Alexander Mattison. Though he was nursing a new injury during Week 9 prep and had been listed as questionable heading into Sunday, White cleared up most of the concern about his health by turning in a full practice Friday. While Mattison is once again in line to serve as the Raiders' starting running back Sunday, head coach Antonio Pierce…read more

Questionable after full practice
White (quadricep) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals after being a full participant in practice Friday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: White's full participation Friday was encouraging after he logged a DNP on Thursday, but that wasn't enough to avoid an injury designation. If White's able to play Sunday, he will likely continue to cede most of the touches in Vegas' backfield to Alexander Mattison. White's averaging a disappointing 3.0 yards per carry.

Sidelined at practice Thursday
White (quad) didn't practice Thursday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After being a limited practice participant Wednesday, White downgraded to a DNP one day later. It remains to be seen if that's related to a setback or if the Raiders are simply managing the running back's practice reps as Sunday's game against the Bengals approaches. Either way, Friday's injury report will reveal White's Week 9 game status. If he's available this weekend, the 2022 fourth-rounder would be in line to work in a complementary role behind starter Alexander Mattison.

Limited by quad injury
White was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a quadricep injury.
Analysis: White's injury doesn't seem to be a major concern, considering he was still able to practice in some fashion after head coach Antonio Pierce expressed a desire earlier Wednesday to get the third-year running back some more work moving forward. Pierce said Wednesday that Alexander Mattison remains the starter but could cede more snaps to White, who showed "some positives last year" and now has "got to get out of his funk," according to Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site. May get more carries soon
Head coach Antonio Pierce suggested Wednesday that he wants to give White more opportunities, even though Alexander Mattison will remain the starting running back, Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site reports. "Zamir, we saw some positives from him last year," Pierce said. "He's just got to get out of his funk."
Analysis: Mattison has averaged just 2.7 yards per carry in his four-game stint as the starter, which includes two games White missed with a groin injury. White hasn't been any better this year, averaging 3.0 YPC, and he's taken just 13 snaps and six touches in two games since returning from the groin injury. Though Pierce floated the possibility of White taking on a bigger role Sunday against the Bengals, it may not necessarily come to fruition.

Logs two offensive snaps in loss
White lost one yard on two carries in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: White's second rush of the contest went for a loss of three yards early in the second quarter, and he didn't see the field again on offense for the remainder of the game. It's evident that Alexander Mattison has taken over the lead role in the Raiders backfield, though he also struggled to get much going on the ground with 14 carries for 15 yards Sunday. However, Mattison did add five catches on as many targets for 29 yards, and he offers more value as a receiver. A game script that involved…read more

Four touches in return
White (groin) rushed three times for 13 yards and caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's 20-15 loss to the Rams.
Analysis: White returned from a two-game absence but worked as a distant No. 2 behind Alexander Mattison, who turned 23 carries and three targets into 123 scrimmage yards. White's averaging just 3.2 yards per carry and has yet to score a touchdown this season, so it's possible he has been permanently demoted to a backup role. Barring a realignment in the backfield pecking order, White won't have much fantasy upside in Week 8 against a stingy Chiefs defense.

Analysis: After logging back-to-back limited practices, White -- who had missed the Raiders' last two contests -- upgraded to full participation Friday before being listed as questionable heading into the weekend. With his active status confirmed, White is poised to reclaim his role in a Las Vegas backfield that also includes Alexander Mattison (who started while White was out) as well as change-of-pace option Ameer Abdullah. Stays limited in practice
White (groin) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Stretching back to last week, White now has been listed as limited on three consecutive injury reports. He's aiming to put an end to a two-game absence due to a groin issue that first emerged at the start of Week 5 prep. Friday's report will give a sense of White's chances to return to action Sunday at the Rams. If White is inhibited or out for that contest, Alexander Mattison likely would serve as the Raiders' lead back, with Ameer Abdullah handling a change-of-pace role.

Logs limited practice Wednesday
White (groin) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.
Analysis: White, who has missed two straight games, now has two more chances to upgrade his practice participation ahead of Sunday's contest against the Rams. If he's able to return to action this weekend, he'll have an opportunity to reclaim a key role in the Raiders backfield. Even if White technically starts Week 7, he's still likely to share carries with Alexander Mattison, while third-stringer Ameer Abdullah remains on hand as a change-of-pace option.

Looks good at practice
White (groin) is practicing Wednesday, Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site reports.
Analysis: White is trending toward a return for Sunday's game at the Rams, after missing the past two games. He returned to practice Friday as a limited participant and now looks to be at running full speed during Wednesday's session. It's unclear if White will return to the lead role once he's healthy, or if he'll come off the bench behind Alexander Mattison. Either way, the Raiders haven't signaled any plans to lean on a workhorse rather than taking a committee approach out of their backfield.

Inactive again in Week 6
White (groin) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Steelers.
Analysis: This marks White's second absence in a row due to a groin injury, but on a positive note he was able to practice in a limited capacity Friday for the first time since the issue appeared at the beginning of Week 5 prep. In White's stead, Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah will handle backfield reps for the Raiders in roughly a 60/40 breakdown.

Looks unlikely to suit up Week 6
White (groin) remains listed as questionable but is viewed as a "longshot" to play in Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Though White returned to practice in a limited fashion Friday, the Raiders seem to be leaning toward holding the 25-year-old running back out for a second straight game. Official word on White's status will arrive when the Raiders post their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, but if he sits out as expected, he would still seem to be on a positive track to return Week 7 for a battle with the Rams. Questionable after return to practice
White (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers after returning to a limited practice Friday.
Analysis: White, who missed last Sunday's loss to the Broncos, didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, but his limited session Friday could potentially open the door for him to return to action this weekend. If, however, White remains sidelined versus Pittsburgh for Las Vegas' 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, Alexander Mattison would be in line to continue to work as the Raiders' lead back Week 6, with Ameer Abdullah available to handle a key change-of-pace role.

Coach Antonio Pierce said White (groin) will return to practice Friday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.

White (groin) remained sidelined at practice Thursday.
Analysis: White, who missed this past Sunday's loss to the Broncos, has now logged back-to-back absences, clouding his status for Sunday's contest against the Steelers. Outplayed by Mattison in Week 4 win
White rushed 17 times for 50 yards, lost a fumble and didn't catch his only target in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Browns.
Analysis: White was a workhorse on the ground but averaged just 2.9 yards per carry while Alexander Mattison racked up 60 rushing yards on just five attempts. White's fumble was returned for a touchdown by the defense in the fourth quarter. Held to 34 yards
White rushed the ball 10 times for 34 yards in Sunday's 36-22 loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: White served as the Raiders' traditional lead back, but he ceded work in obvious passing situations and near the goal line. He's struggled to rush with much efficiency this season (3.2 yards per carry), leaving him without high-value touches or big-play ability. With Las Vegas in a negative game script for nearly the entirety of Sunday's loss, White's role was nonexistent for the second half and is also reason to pause before plugging him into lineups moving forward.

Stymied in Week 2 win
White rushed nine times for 24 yards and secured three of four targets for 14 yards in the Raiders' 26-23 win over the Ravens on Sunday.
Analysis: The Raiders managed to pull off an improbable victory, but because they trailed for large swaths of the game, the ground attack eventually took a back seat. White still led the team in carries, but it was notably Alexander Mattison that got a red-zone attempt in the third quarter that netted a one-yard touchdown. Leads rushing attack as expected
White gained 44 yards on 13 carries in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Chargers. He added two receptions for two yards and also lost a fumble.
Analysis: White out-carried Alexander Mattison by a 13-4 margin, though he found running room hard to come by as he picked up only six yards on his first six carries. While his results improved mildly from there, he also lost a fumble early in the second half. White will likely continue to lead the Raiders in carries on early downs, though Mattison was targeted six times and caught a touchdown for the team's only trip to the end zone on the day.

Garners chunk gain Saturday
White rushed four times for 23 yards and failed to bring in his only target in the Raiders' 27-12 preseason loss to the Cowboys on Saturday night.
Analysis: White drew the start and put together what appears to be a fine rushing line on the surface, but it's worth noting 17 of his yards came on his first carry. Nevertheless, the third-year back is primed to open the season as the Raiders' No. 1 option in the ground game, though offseason addition Alexander Mattison is talented enough to serve as a threat if White struggles in the role.

Finds end zone in preseason loss
White carried the ball six times for 23 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 24-23 preseason loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: The third-year back got the start and capped a drive in the second quarter with a two-yard touchdown run that gave the Raiders a 17-7 lead, before the game tilted the Vikings' way after halftime. White has little competition for the starting job in the Las Vegas backfield, but he heads into 2024 as a relatively unproven option who managed just one touchdown on 136 touches over his first two NFL campaigns while working as Josh Jacobs' backup.

Backfield depth added by Las Vegas
White is the Raiders' expected starter at running back following the departure of Josh Jacobs, with the recently signed Alexander Mattison likely to serve as his top backup, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic.
Analysis: Once Jacobs headed to Green Bay, it seemed inevitable that the Raiders would fortify their running back corps, either through free agency, the draft, or both. In Mattison, the team adds a player who made 13 starts for the Vikings last season, but at this stage it appears as though White -- who had an impressive finish to the 2023 regular season -- has the inside track to lead Las Vegas' backfield in 2024. White is situated as Las Vegas' top running back entering the new league year, with Josh Jacobs slated to ink a four-year, $48 million contract with the Packers, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Analysis: White is facing real opportunity atop the Raiders' depth chart after an impressive end to the 2023 campaign in which he averaged 114.3 yards from scrimmage per game across the team's last four contests, as Jacobs was sidelined. Analysis: White has started the team's last two games in the absence of Jacobs, and that context will continue versus Indianapolis on Sunday. Over his last two outings while filling in as the Raiders' top back, White has combined to record 39 carries for 214 yards and a TD to go along with three catches for 16 yards in that span. With a path to rushing volume once again available for the 2022 fourth-rounder, White profiles as a solid fantasy lineup option in Week 17.

Racks up 145 rushing yards Monday
White churned out 145 yards on 22 carries but didn't haul in his only target during Monday's 20-14 win at Kansas City.
Analysis: White earned a second start in a row for the absent Josh Jacobs (quadriceps/illness), one-upping his own performance (20 touches for 85 yards from scrimmage and a rushing TD) from a Week 15 demolition of the Chargers. With a lacking passing game that produced just 48 net yards in Week 16, White in essence was the Raiders offense, while fellow running back Ameer Abdullah mustered 12 total yards on three touches. Likely to lead ground attack Monday
White is expected to serve as the leader of Las Vegas' backfield committee Monday in Kansas City with Josh Jacobs (quadricep/illness) in line to miss a second consecutive game, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Though Jacobs took a small step forward in his recovery from the quad injury that kept him out of last Thursday's 63-21 win over the Chargers, turning in one limited practice this week, he's also working his way back from an illness and ultimately didn't make enough progress. Las Vegas got by just fine without its No. 1 back last week, as White stepped up with 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown to go with three receptions for 16 yards on four targets. Solid as starting back
White rushed 17 times for 69 yards and a touchdown and brought in three of four targets for 16 yards in the Raiders' 63-21 win over the Chargers on Thursday night.
Analysis: With Josh Jacobs (quadriceps) sidelined, White took on the lead back role and put together a solid all-around night in the Raiders' offensive breakout. White got the avalanche of points started with a one-yard touchdown run to cap off Las Vegas' opening possession, marking his first career score. In line for starting nod Thursday
White is in line to serve as the Raiders' starting running back Thursday against the Chargers with Josh Jacobs (quadricep) listed as questionable but on track to sit out the Week 15 game, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Jacobs has played in all of the Raiders' 13 games to date and has been a three-down workhorse, clearing 70 percent of the offensive snaps in each of the first 12 contests until the quad issue forced him out late in this past Sunday's 3-0 win over the Vikings. Rushes twice for eight yards Sunday
White rushed twice for eight yards in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: White logged only five offensive snaps despite starter Josh Jacobs exiting Sunday's contest in the fourth quarter with a knee injury, while fellow running back Ameer Abdullah gained 19 yards on three touches across 15 snaps. If Jacobs is unable to suit up Thursday against the Chargers due to the aforementioned knee issue, however, White could be next in line to handle early-down work out of the Raiders' backfield with Abdullah providing relief in passing situations.

Four carries Sunday
White netted minus-2 yards on four carries in Sunday's 30-6 win over the Giants.
Analysis: White played just five offensive snaps while starter Josh Jacobs racked up 98 yards and two touchdowns on 26 rushes, and the former had two of his four carries result in negative yardage. Fellow running back Ameer Abdullah also earned four touches, leaving White with few opportunities to produce ahead of a Week 10 matchup against the Jets.

Analysis: White made a catch on three consecutive plays during the Raiders' final drive of the contest to help set up a nine-yard touchdown pass from Aidan O'Connell to Jakobi Meyers in garbage time. Game flow allowed White to record a season-high 14 offensive snaps as well, but Josh Jacobs figures to again see a majority of the backfield touches against the Lions in Week 8.

Four touches in win
White rushed twice for two yards in Sunday's 21-17 win over the Patriots. He also caught both of his targets for seven yards.
Analysis: White's two receptions marked a career high, but he was still buried in the offensive game plan behind workhorse Josh Jacobs, who handled 27 touches for 93 total yards Sunday. Through the Raiders' first six games of the season, White has rushed just 10 times for 41 yards.

Zero offensive snaps Monday
White was held without an offensive snap in Monday's 17-13 win over the Packers.
Analysis: White's involvement was limited to special teams on Monday Night Football, while starter Josh Jacobs handled 20 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown to go along with five catches on as many targets for 20 receiving yards. Ameer Abdullah continues to provide occasional relief on passing downs as well, so White remains nothing more than a stash ahead of a Week 6 matchup against the Patriots.

Analysis: White was limited to just seven offensive snaps Sunday, but his Week 4 performance was highlighted by an 11-yard run to move the chains late in the third quarter. He's now earned only nine total touches through the Raiders' first four games, and starter Josh Jacobs figures to remain a bell cow out of the backfield against the Packers in Week 5.

Four late carries in blowout loss
White rushed four times for 22 yards in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: White's four carries didn't come until the Raiders' final drive of this blowout defeat, so although the box score shows he was more efficient than starter Josh Jacobs on the ground, Jacobs still caught five passes for 51 yards on six targets while playing 29 of a possible 40 offensive snaps. Two touches in win
White rushed once for two yards and caught his lone target for five yards in Sunday's 17-16 win over Denver.
Analysis: Josh Jacobs (19-48-0) dominated the backfield touches as expected, leaving little work for the Raiders' primary backup. White lost nearly all fantasy value when Jacobs signed a one-year deal to return to Las Vegas right before the season, and only injury would change that scenario. Poised to give way to Jacobs
Josh Jacobs has agreed to a one-year deal with the Raiders worth up to $12 million, per Jeff Howe, Dianna Russini and Tashan Reed of Athletic, which sets the stage for White to work in complementary role in the team's backfield this coming season.
Analysis: Jacobs had been sitting out training camp given that he hadn't signed his $10.1 million franchise tag, which led to White filling in as the team's lead back. With Jacobs is poised to rejoin the mix, White is slated to revert to a backup role, a context that gives the 2022 fourth-rounder value as an insurance policy in the event that Jacobs misses time this coming season. The 2022 fourth-round pick has a chance to open the season as the No. 1 running back given Josh Jacobs' ongoing absence due to a contract dispute, and after logging 23 carries over the first two preseason games, White may be rested in next Saturday night's road preseason finale against the Cowboys ahead of Week 1.

The 23-year-old White took advantage of the opportunity and punched in a touchdown on his sixth carry of the Raiders' opening drive. Spends rookie season behind Jacobs
White returned from a two-game absence due to an ankle injury to take his lone carry for four yards in the Raiders' Week 18 loss to the Chiefs, finishing his rookie campaign with just 17 rushes for 70 yards in 14 games.
Analysis: White logged an average of 2.6 offensive snaps per game in his first season, as the 2022 fourth-rounder mostly stuck to the bench while workhorse Josh Jacobs dominated touches out of the Raiders' backfield en route to a career year. The latter is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, however, so the starting job could be available for White to earn if the team elects not to re-sign Jacobs.

White (ankle) was a full participant in Tuesday's estimated injury report, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: White missed each of the team's last two games, but it appears he'll likely be able to play in the team's season finale Saturday against the Chiefs. It's been a relatively quiet season for the rookie, who has seen just 34 offensive snaps in 13 games, which has led to 16 carries on 66 yards.
