Analysis: Taylor didn't have any of his typical explosive plays, but he had enough volume to top 100 yards from scrimmage. His receiving line was particularly notable, as he matched his season high with five targets while topping 30 receiving yards for the fourth time. Taylor has gotten a bit more inconsistent on the ground of late, topping 90 rushing yards in only half of his lats six games. Bottled up in OT loss

Taylor rushed 16 times for 58 yards and brought in two of three targets for eight yards in the Colts' 23-20 overtime loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.

Analysis: The Chiefs' defense did a number on Taylor, with the star running back finishing under 60 rushing yards for only the second time in 11 games. Taylor was coming off a season-high 244 rushing yards and three rushing scores in Week 10 against the Falcons before the Colts' bye, and Sunday also marked only the second time this season he failed to record more than one run of double-digit yardage. It's the third time in seven games this season that Taylor has gotten into the end zone three times, en route to an NFL-best 11 TDs in total (10 rushing, one receiving) and 882 yards from scrimmage. The talented back was unsurprisingly only briefly featured, and Saturday's carry may well represent the extent of his preseason work. Starters in line to play Saturday

Taylor carried 20 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns while adding two catches (on two targets) for 15 yards during Sunday's 44-27 win over the Raiders.

Analysis: Taylor gashed the Las Vegas run defense for 7.5 yards per carry as he easily set a new career high in rushing yardage. His 62-yard touchdown in the third quarter was also his longest run of the season, and he later added a three-yard score for his first multi-touchdown game. Taylor came into this game in great form and will look to feast again next Sunday against a Texans defense that ranks near the bottom of the league in virtually every category related to stopping opposing running backs.

Scores with 135 scrimmage yards

Taylor carried 13 times for 91 yards and caught all three of his targets for 44 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 26-20 win over the Texans.

Analysis: Taylor gashed the porous Houston defense for 7.0 yards per carry as he delivered his best rushing output since Week 2. He was unable to put together a huge performance due to the Colts' inability to reach the end zone but has now racked up at least 14 touches in each game since Week 2 in Marlon Mack's (Achilles) absence. Analysis: Despite the lopsided final score, Taylor didn't get a lot of work down the stretch as Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines got 16 carries and five receptions between them. Still, the rookie's third-quarter TD salvaged his day from a fantasy perspective. Taylor tallied nine rushes for 22 yards in the team's Week 1 contest against the Jaguars. He also added six receptions for 67 yards.

Analysis: Taylor took over an expanded role with Marlon Mack's exit (Achilles), particularly as a receiver. He finished second on the team in receiving yards, as the Colts tried to play catch-up against the Jaguars. While Taylor didn't accomplish much on the ground, he should have the chance to improve in terms of both volume and efficiency moving forward. Expanded role likely

With fears that Marlon Mack suffered a torn Achilles against the Jaguars on Sunday, Taylor's role in the Colts' ground game is likely to expand going forward, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Analysis: While Taylor has drawn raves in training camp, he'll need to improve as a receiver to claim a larger share of the touches in the backfield, where he's expected to split time with Marlon Mack. Taylor had issues with drops in college, so his 4-5 drops during training camp, according to Bowen, are a cause for concern.

Not viewed as starter just yet

Coach Frank Reich said Wednesday that he still views Marlon Mack as his starting running back, but Reich noted Taylor will have an opportunity to catch the "hot hand," Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
