Analysis: The Cowboys came into the game as heavy favorites and operated as such, focusing on establishing the rushing attack. However, the Texans hung around and held a small lead for the majority of the game, which forced Dallas to open up its offense. Even so, Lamb couldn't get going and had to settle for a 13-yard reception as his longest gain of the game. Lamb's yardage total was his second lowest of the season and worst output since Week 1.

Shines on SNF

Lamb corralled five of seven targets for 71 yards and a touchdown while adding 23 rushing yards on two carries in Sunday's 54-19 win over the Colts.

Analysis: Lamb led the Cowboys in receiving and had his way with the Colts' banged up secondary. Dallas' star wideout could have had an even bigger game had Indianapolis kept the score closer in the second half of this lopsided affair. Analysis: The second-year receiver was the only Cowboy to see more than five targets or catch more than three passes on the afternoon, and he hauled in more than double the yardage of any of his teammates. It was a quiet day overall for the team's aerial attack as offensive coordinator Kellen Moore focused on getting the Dallas running game going, but Lamb has so far been matchup-proof in 2021 heading into a Week 3 clash with the Eagles.

Excels in Week 1 loss

Lamb secured seven of 15 targets for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys' 31-29 loss to the Buccaneers on Thursday night. He also returned one punt for 12 yards.

Lamb was activated from the reserve/COVID list Thursday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis: The second-year pro missed a little more than a week of practice and finished the preseason with just one catch for 13 yards. The Cowboys start their campaign on the road against the Super Bowl champion Buccaneers, but with Dak Prescott (shoulder) seemingly healthy, Dallas should at least be able to move the ball Thursday night. Lamb was well on his way to a 1,000-yard rookie campaign before Prescott suffered a season-ending ankle fracture in Week 5 last year.

Should be activated Thursday

The Cowboys plan to activate Lamb from the reserve/COVID list Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: The same goes for Cowboys safety Damontae Kazee and defensive tackle Carlos Watkins. All three will rejoin the team with plenty of time to prepare for Week 1, though Lamb did miss more than a week of practice. Meanwhile, QB Dak Prescott has recovered from a shoulder injury, giving the Cowboys their full stable of playmakers for next Thursday's season opener at Tampa Bay.

In COVID protocol

Lamb is in the NFL's COVID-19 protocols, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: Also headed for the reserve/COVID-19 list are teammates Carlos Watkins, Malik Hooker and Israel Mukuamu. Per David Moore of The Dallas Morning News, the players won't be eligible to practice until they clear league protocols but should do so before Week 1. The Cowboys open their regular-season slate Sept. 9 against the Buccaneers.

Little work in Saturday's loss

Lamb caught one of two targets for 13 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Texans.

Analysis: The Cowboys only had their offensive starters on the field for the first quarter, but as the group included Garrett Gilbert under center and not Dak Prescott (shoulder), there wasn't much production to go around. Lamb is locked into a significant role in the passing game when the regular season begins, but the second-year wideout's chances of putting together an explosive campaign will be tied to Prescott's health.

Makes brief preseason debut

Lamb failed to haul in his only target during Friday's preseason loss to the Cardinals.

Analysis: After sitting out last week's Hall of Fame Game against the Steelers, Lamb saw a few snaps in this one before making a quick exit. Expect the second-year receiver to see more extensive work next week against the Texans as he gets tuned up for the regular season.

In line to play Friday

Lamb is slated to play in Friday's preseason game at Arizona, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis: Lamb was held out of last Thursday's Hall of Fame Game, but considering he's in uniform during pregame warmups Friday, he should log some action for the first time in an exhibition. There's a good chance he doesn't see more than a series or two, though, with two more preseason games on the slate after Friday's contest.

May not play Thursday night

Lamb may not play in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against Pittsburgh, according to DallasCowboys.com.

Analysis: Lamb is healthy and isn't on the list of 16 players who won't make the trip, but that doesn't mean he'll actually play snaps in the first of Dallas' four preseason games. Reports out of Cowboys camp suggest the second-year pro has been fantastic this summer, with David Helman of the Cowboys' official site even noting that Lamb has reached the "Dez [Bryant] level" of domination in practice.

Getting more perimeter work

Lamb has been working at four different receiver spots this offseason, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis: Most NFL offenses have an X receiver, a Z and a slot, but the Cowboys apparently have a fourth designation as well. The larger point is that Lamb has become more comfortable in Mike McCarthy and Kellen Moore's scheme, so the young wideout may now see more work on the perimeter, after largely playing the slot as a rookie. Analysis: While he managed only about half of the yardage Michael Gallup or Amari Cooper did through the air, Lamb made up for it with his fourth-quarter touchdown run, capping the scoring in the rout. Lamb caught five of seven targets for 85 yards and scored a touchdown on an onside kick return during Sunday's 41-33 win over the 49ers.

Analysis: Lamb averaged an impressive 17.0 yards per catch thanks in large part to a career-long 45-yard reception. He finished with his third-best receiving output of the season and topped off his day with a touchdown on an onside kick return in the final moments. This strong showing represented Lamb's third-best receiving output of the season and his best since Week 5. He'll look to add to his impressive rookie numbers next Sunday against the Eagles.

Just two catches in win

Lamb caught both his targets for 46 yards and gained 15 rushing yards on one carry in Sunday's 30-7 win over the Bengals.

Analysis: The Cowboys' passing game didn't need to do much after three early Cincinnati fumbles led to 17 first-half points for Dallas, but Lamb made the most of his limited opportunities. The two targets were a season low for the rookie, and he hasn't reached 50 receiving yards in four straight games heading into Week 15's clash with the 49ers.

Tallies six grabs in loss

Lamb secured six of nine targets for 46 yards in the Cowboys' 34-17 loss to the Ravens on Tuesday night.

Analysis: The rookie was particularly involved in the first half, and even though his involvement waned in the latter portions of the contest, he still finished second to Michael Gallup in targets, receptions and receiving yards. Analysis: While the rookie didn't gain much real estate, Lamb grabbed his fourth TD of the season in the second quarter on a four-yard toss from Andy Dalton. The entire Cowboys offense looked much improved after the team's bye with Dalton back under center, and as a result Lamb's fantasy fortunes are on the upswing again heading into a Thanksgiving clash with Washington.

Hauls in third TD in loss

Lamb caught four of seven targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Steelers.

Analysis: The switch to Garrett Gilbert at quarterback restored a bit of a spark to the Cowboys' passing game, and Lamb put together his best performance since Dak Prescott (ankle) was injured, with his second-quarter TD giving the Cowboys a surprising 10-0 lead that eventually evaporated. Despite the turmoil around him, the rookie wideout continues to impress, but whether Gilbert or Andy Dalton (concussion/illness) will be throwing him passes coming out of the team's Week 10 bye remains to be seen.

Five touches in SNF loss

Lamb caught four of five targets for 27 yards while adding 19 yards on his lone carry in Sunday's 23-9 loss to the Eagles.

Analysis: Lamb was held without a catch last week, so while his production was modest at best, it was actually a step in the right direction during the Ben Dinucci Era. Analysis: In a vacuum it looks like a solid performance, but Lamb actually finished fourth on the Cowboys in receiving yards on a day when Dak Prescott aired it out 57 times. The rookie wideout has looked good to begin his career, catching 16 of 21 targets for 230 yards and a TD through three games, and he'll try to add to those numbers Week 4 against a Browns defense that's already given up five touchdowns to opposing WRs.

Team's top receiver against Atlanta

Lamb hauled in six of nine targets for 106 receiving yards during Sunday's 40-39 win against the Falcons.

Analysis: The first-round rookie wideout had an encouraging yet modest NFL debut last week, registering 59 receiving yards on five catches. However, Week 2 marked his breakout. Lamb and Amari Cooper torched the depleted Falcons secondary, combining for a dozen catches and more than 200 yards on the afternoon. Lamb has lined up both outside and in the slot during camp and has looked comfortable in all formations, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore seems intent on finding ways to get the ball into the rookie's hands, as Lamb has been used on jet sweeps and reverses as well.
