Even with rookie QB Mac Jones under center for the Patriots, there's some risk for the Jets' depleted secondary. Jones was sacked once and didn't cough up a turnover in Week 1 against the Dolphins, so the Jets D/ST doesn't have much upside either.

Analysis: Bryce Hall is the most experienced corner in the bunch because he has played 547 defensive snaps. Moore and Terrace Marshall, this could get ugly quick. Stay far away.

DE Carl Lawson tore his Achilles and has been ruled out for the season.

Analysis: Lawson didn't produce big numbers in Cincinnati, but he's a highly skilled player that was highly-coveted in free agency, evidenced by his three-year, $45 million contract this offseason. DT Quinnen Williams (foot) is a strong pass rusher, but this unit needed the firepower that Lawson brings to the table in order to make up for its dismal secondary.

Analysis: The Jets needed to make changes to their pass defense after allowing 276 yards per game through the air, but they largely neglected the secondary besides a fifth-round rookie CB and S Lamarcus Joyner. However, their pass rush receives a significant upgrade with Lawson and Curry, who isn't expected to play until Week 2. That's likely not enough, but new head coach Robert Saleh has been known to get a lot out of a little.
