Accounts for three TDs vs. Redskins
Allen completed 27 of 46 pass attempts for 278 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception Sunday against the Redskins. He also carried four times for 22 yards and another touchdown in the 29-21 loss.
Analysis: Allen completed touchdown passes to D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel while adding his first rushing score -- a 17-yard effort -- in the fourth quarter. The rookie's yardage total was his third best of the season, and he's now averaging 291.5 yards per game over the last four. In two games since his dismal effort against the Falcons a couple of weeks ago, Allen has accounted for six total touchdowns with one interception. He'll look to build on his recent success next Sunday against the Falcons.

Plays well in defeat
Allen completed 23 of 36 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns while adding a nine-yard rush in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Allen threw touchdowns of 51 and two yards to D.J. Moore, sandwiching a one-yard touchdown pass to Christian McCaffrey in between those scores. He did well to lead his team out of 14-0 and 31-18 holes, actually tying the score at 31-31 before the Saints won it with a field goal as time expired. Allen completed 31 of 50 pass attempts for 325 yards but was intercepted four times during Sunday's 29-3 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: The 23-year-old signal-caller appeared to be a viable streaming option early on this season, tossing seven touchdown passes, averaging 225 passing yards per game and committing zero interceptions between Weeks 3 and 6. Sets career high in passing yards
Allen completed 28 of 43 pass attempts for 307 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Packers. He also rushed three times for 12 yards.
Analysis: Although Allen averaged a pedestrian 7.1 yards per attempt, he set a new career high in passing yardage against a formidable Packers pass defense. He completed a two-yard touchdown pass to Curtis Samuel in the first quarter and had several other opportunities in the red zone, including some failed attempts in the final seconds that could've tied the game. Allen continues to grow into his role as a starter and will enjoy an excellent matchup next Sunday at home against the Falcons.

Likely starter moving forward
Allen is expected to serve as the Panthers' starting quarterback for at least the remainder of the regular season after the team placed Cam Newton (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday.
