Reaches injury settlement
The Giants waived Joseph (abdomen) from injured reserve Thursday after reaching an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Joseph was placed on injured reserve Saturday due to an abdominal injury he likely picked up in practice. He joined Graham Gano (hamstring) on IR, but following the injury settlement, Joseph will now be seeking to join a new team assuming he clears waivers. In his six regular-season outings with the Giants, Joseph went 13-for-16 on field-goal attempts and 6-for-6 on extra-point tries.

Placed on injured reserve
The Giants placed Joseph (abdomen) on injured reserve Saturday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: New York ruled out Joseph on Friday due to an abdominal injury that likely happened in practice, and he'll now join Graham Gano (hamstring) on injured reserve. Gano is closing in on a return to action, so even when Joseph is healthy again -- he can return Sunday, Dec. 8 against the Saints, at the earliest -- he may not have a gig awaiting him. As for this Sunday's game against the Commanders, the Giants have elevated Jude McAtamney from the practice squad to handle placekicking duties.

Won't play Week 9
Joseph has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Commanders due to an abdominal injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Joseph had been filling in for Graham Gano, who sustained a hamstring injury on the opening kickoff against the Commanders back in Week 2. With Gano still on injured reserve and Joseph now unavailable after apparently picking up the abdominal injury during practice this week, the Giants will elevate Jude McAtamney from the practice squad to handle kicking duties Sunday.

Makes all four FG attempts Week 8
Joseph went 4-for-4 on field-goal tries and didn't attempt an extra point Monday in a loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: Joseph provided all of the first-half scoring for the Giants, making field goals from 29, 39 and 44 yards out. He added to his ledger with a 48-yarder with just over five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to bring New York to within eight points. The veteran kicker had gone 1-for-3 on field-goal attempts over the previous two weeks, highlighting how unpredictable his opportunities can be as part of a Giants offense that is averaging the second-fewest points per game in the league.…read more

Makes lone kick Week 7
Joseph converted his only field-goal try and did not attempt an extra point Sunday in a loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Joseph missed a pair of field-goal tries Week 6 but was retained for Week 7 with Graham Gano (hamstring) not yet ready to return. New York's offense was woeful against Philadelphia, so Joseph didn't get much of a chance to redeem himself, though he did score the team's only points on a 38-yard field goal just before halftime. Joseph is now a tolerable 9-for-12 on field-goal attempts on the campaign, but he'll likely give way to Gano as soon as the latter is able to return, potentially as soon…read more

Kicking again in Week 7
Joseph is expected to serve as the Giants' kicker for Sunday's game against the Eagles after head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Graham Gano (hamstring) won't return from injured reserve this week, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Joseph has kicked for the Giants over the past four games, but it wasn't immediately clear whether the team would stick with him after he missed both of his field-goal attempts in the Week 6 loss to the Bengals. However, with Gano out for another week and the Giants bringing in no other kickers this week, Joseph will be in line for another opportunity Sunday.

Will retain role until Gano returns
Joseph missed both of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's Week 6 loss to Cincinnati, but coach Brian Daboll said Monday that Joseph will continue to be the team's kicker if Graham Gano (hamstring) isn't ready to return Week 7 versus Philadelphia, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Joseph's pair of misses against the Bengals weren't excessively challenging by NFL standards -- he was wide left on both a 47-yarder early in the fourth quarter and a 45-yarder with under a minute left in the contest. Nonetheless, Daboll's comments suggest that New York may not be looking to try out another kicker with Gano's return from injured reserve looming. Gano is eligible to be activated this week, though Duggan believes "it'd be a surprise" if the veteran kicker is ready to return…read more

Makes three field goals Week 5
Joseph converted all three of his field-goal tries and both of his extra-point attempts in Sunday's 29-20 victory versus Seattle.
Analysis: None of Joseph's FG tries were very challenging -- his longest was from 38 yards out -- but he did his job well by coming through each time he was called upon. After missing his lone field-goal attempt Week 3 in his first game with New York, Joseph has since gone 8-for-8 on FG tries while making both of his extra-point attempts over his next two contests. The Giants offense has been able to push the ball down the field while struggling to get into the end zone in recent contests, which presents…read more

Kicks five FGs in loss to Dallas
Joseph converted all five of his field-goal attempts in Thursday night's 20-15 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Kicking in place of an injured Graham Gano (hamstring) for the second straight week, Joseph was the only means of scoring for the Giants in Thursday night's defeat. Joseph's makes were from 52, 41, 38, 22 and 42 yards out. Through two games, Joseph has made five of six field-goal tries and all three of his extra-point attempts.

Will kick vs. Dallas
Head coach Brian Daboll said that Joseph will serve as the Giants' kicker in Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Joseph made all three of his extra-point tries in his team debut during Sunday's win over the Browns, but he missed his only field-goal attempt from 48 yards out. The veteran will continue filling in for Graham Gano (hamstring) versus Dallas, but if Joseph struggles again, the Giants could look into replacing him with another kicker.

Misses in debut with team
Head coach Brian Daboll was non-committal on Joseph's future with the Giants after he missed a 48-yard goal in Sunday's 21-15 win over the Browns, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: Joseph was signed off the Lions' practice squad to replace Graham Gano (hamstring) during his IR stint. However, after missing his lone FGA, it seems like the team may be open to bringing in other options. On a positive note for Joseph, he did make all three of his PATs in the win Sunday. The Giants face the Cowboys on Thursday, so if they do decide to make a switch at kicker, they'll need to do so quickly.

Replacing injured Gano in New York
The Giants signed Joseph off the Lions' practice squad on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: After losing the battle for the Packers' kicking job at the end of training camp, Joseph had to wait just two weeks before getting an opportunity with another team. With the Giants, he'll be serving as a short-term replacement for Graham Gano, who is expected to miss multiple weeks after straining his right hamstring in this past Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Commanders. The 30-year-old Joseph has appeared in 51 games with the Browns, Titans and Vikings over parts of five NFL seasons, converting…read more

Gets chance in Detroit
Joseph was added to the Lions' practice squad Tuesday according to his agent, reports Brett Tessler.
Analysis: Joseph, a seven-year veteran, spent the prior three seasons with the Vikings. He subsequently competed for the Packers' kicking job during the offseason but was ultimately cut. Detroit's kicker, Jake Bates, was a perfect 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts in his debut in Week 1. Joseph would now be in line to fill in should he be required to do so.

Cut by Green Bay
The Packers released Joseph on Wednesday.
Analysis: Joseph appeared to win the battle with Anders Carlson for the Packers' kicker job, but they've now both been released and replaced by waiver claim Brayden Narveson, an undrafted rookie free agent who made six of seven field-goal attempts for the Titans this preseason. Narveson's only miss came from 58 yards, and he converted a 59-yarder. Only kicker on roster
Joseph is the only kicker on Green Bay's initial 53-man roster.
Analysis: Joseph outperformed Anders Carlson this summer and now figures to kick for the Packers in Week 1 against the Eagles. The 30-year-old spent the past three season with Minnesota, converting 82.6 percent of field-goal attempts and 90.1 percent of PATs while playing all 17 games each year. Joseph is probably one of the lesser starting placekickers in the league, which means he's one cold streak away from finding himself on the hot seat.

Misses lone attempt
Joseph missed a 47-yard field-goal attempt in Sunday's preseason game against the Broncos.
Analysis: Joseph was the only Packers kicker to record an attempt Sunday with Green Bay's offense unable to get much going, and he was unable to convert his lone chance. Joseph and Anders Carlson remain the primary competitors for the placekicking job in Green Bay.

Continues making kicks
Joseph made a 35-yard field goal and an extra point in Saturday's preseason opener against the Browns.
Analysis: Joseph is competing with Anders Carlson for the placekicking job in Green Bay, and he did nothing to damage his chances Saturday, making both kicks he attempted. Joseph has been a bit more accurate than his counterpart during training camp, but Carlson was drafted by the Packers in 2023 and made all his kicks Saturday after entering the game first; therefore, Joseph still has some work to do.

Outperforming Carlson so far
Joseph has the upper hand in the starting kicker race for Green Bay after going 7-for-7 in field-goal tries during practice Thursday compared to Anders Carlson's 4-for-7 session, Matt Schneidman of The New York Times reports.
Analysis: The veteran kicker signed with Green Bay in March and has so far brought an experienced presence that could give him the advantage as he battles against Carlson for the starting spot. Joseph has now made 29 of 31 of kicks attempted in front of reporters during training camp while Carlson has gone 25-of-31.

Lands in Green Bay
The Packers signed Joseph to a contract Tuesday, his agent Brett Tessler reports.
Analysis: Joseph gives Green Bay an experienced veteran option to compete with Anders Carlson, a 2023 sixth-round pick who converted 27 of 33 field-goal attempts (82 percent) and 34 of 39 extra-point attempts as a rookie. Joseph converted 24 of 30 field-goal tries (80 percent) and 36 of 38 extra-point attempts over 17 games with the Vikings last season.

Perfect in loss
Joseph made both of his field-goal attempts and extra-point tries in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Lions.
Analysis: Joseph was good from 39 and 43 yards in defeat, which brought him to a 24-for-30 tally on FGAs this season. All six of his misses came from beyond 40 yards, as he went 3-for-6 from 40-49 yards out and 4-for-7 from 50-plus yards. The Florida Atlantic product is set to be a free agent this offseason after signing a one-year deal last March, and it's feasible that the Vikings could explore other options at the position this spring.

Makes lone field goal in loss
Joseph made a field goal and extra-point try in Sunday's 33-10 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Joseph connected on a 54-yard try in the second quarter to put a dent in a 10-0 deficit. The 29-year-old wouldn't return to the field until the fourth quarter for an extra-point try after a Johnny Mundt touchdown. Joseph is now 22-for-28 on FGAs this season as the Vikings head into their last game of the season against the Lions in Week 18.

Accounts for six points
Joseph converted his only field-goal attempt and all three extra-point tries during Sunday's 30-24 loss to Detroit.
Analysis: Joseph logged an identical stat line to Week 15's loss against Cincinnati, another contest in which Minnesota's offense struggled to find a consistent rhythm. The Vikings have another divisional matchup on the horizon versus Green Bay in Week 17, and the Packers' struggling defense could allow for easier scoring opportunities.

Perfect in loss
Joseph made his lone field-goal attempt and all three extra-point-tries in Saturday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: Joseph was successful when called upon, making a 39-yard FGA to push the Vikings' lead to 17-3 as the third quarter was nearing its end. The Florida Atlantic product is now 20-for-26 on field-goal attempts this season; however, that still leaves him with a career-worst 77 percent conversion rate, as he remains just 5-for-11 on attempts greater than 40 yards. Comes through in clutch
Joseph made one of two field-goal tries in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Joseph missed from 49 yards out in the second quarter, but the game would remain scoreless until he got another opportunity. That would come as the two-minute warning approached in the fourth quarter, where he was successful on a 36-yard attempt that gave Minnesota a 3-0 lead the Vikings wouldn't relinquish. Analysis: Joseph was successful from 34 yards out to bring the first half to a close and tie the game at three. He didn't step on the field again until his PAT that gave the team a 10-9 lead midway through the fourth. Next up for Joseph and the Vikings is a Week 13 matchup with the Raiders.

Joseph made both of his field-goal tries and extra-point attempts in Sunday's 21-20 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Joseph made his first field goal from 34 yards in the second quarter to give the Vikings a 10-3 lead and then followed with a successful 30-yard attempt to extend their advantage to 20-15 with 3:20 remaining. Puts two through the uprights
Joseph made of two of three field-goal attempts and all three extra-point tries in Sunday's 27-19 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Joseph has been busy after only seeing two FGAs in the team's first four contests and now has three or more in the team's last five games. Unfortunately, the Florida Atlantic product was unable to connect from 54 yards out early in the fourth quarter Sunday, but he did convert from 40 yards on the team's opening drive and again from 33 yards on Minnesota's first possession of the second half. Next up for Joseph is a trip to Denver for a matchup with the Broncos in Week 11.

Perfect at Atlanta
Joseph converted all three of his field-goal attempts and both of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-28 win at the Falcons.
Analysis: Joseph had a bit of a resurgence in Week 9 after struggling the three games prior, knocking through a few chip shots in a high-scoring affair. One of his kicks even gave Minnesota a 24-21 lead in the fourth quarter. Minnesota will host a solid New Orleans defense in Week 10, which has the potential to stifle Joseph's fantasy projection somewhat.

Struggles continue at Green Bay
Joseph converted one of his three field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 24-10 win at the Packers.
Analysis: Joseph failed to convert on two kicks for the third straight game in Week 8. In his defense, one of his field-goal attempts was blocked Sunday, and conditions were unfavorable for special-teams operations as they tend to be in late October in Green Bay. Either way, down the stretch, Minnesota will justifiably expect him to make kicks at a better rate than he has over the last few weeks.

Joseph missed one of his four field-goal attempts and one of his two extra-point tries in Monday night's 22-17 win over the 49ers.
Analysis: Joseph converted field goals from 21, 20 and 54 yards prior to sending a 50-yarder wide right late in the fourth quarter. Although he also misfired on a PAT, the Vikings still managed to pull out a surprise victory. Through seven games, Joseph has now made 25 of 29 total attempts, registering 43 points.

Tough day in ugly win
Joseph made two of his three field-goal attempts and one of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 19-13 win at Chicago.
Analysis: Joseph failed to convert on both an extra-point try and a field-goal attempt for the first time this season in Week 6. In his defense, the former kick was blocked and the latter was a 57-yarder on a cool fall day in the Windy City. Even still, Minnesota's offense looked strained without Justin Jefferson (IR-hamstring) and will draw a brutal matchup versus San Francisco's defense in Week 7.

The Florida Atlantic product made his first kick from 40 yards out and then followed up with another from 29 yards, making him 4-for-4 on attempts this season. Joseph didn't attempt a field goal but made all four PAT tries in Thursday's 34-28 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Joseph has attempted just one field goal through two games, as Minnesota has been effective at punching in touchdowns while simultaneously struggling with turnovers en route to an 0-2 start. His lone field-goal attempt came in the second quarter from 25 yards out, and he remained perfect from under 30 yards (23-for-23) on his career. He did finish strong by not missing a single field-goal attempt in all but one of the final 11 games, including the wild-card loss to the Giants. Misses two kicks against Arizona
Joseph missed his lone field-goal attempt while making four of five extra-point tries during the Vikings' 34-26 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
Analysis: Although the Vikings have had a strong start to the season, Joseph has been inconsistent in recent weeks, as he's missed at least one kick in each of the last five games. His missed field-goal attempt Sunday was a 56-yard attempt that was blocked just before halftime, but he also missed an extra-point try in the fourth quarter that would have put Minnesota up by two possessions. Over the last five games, Joseph has converted six of 11 field-goal attempts while making 13 of 16 extra-point tries.

The fifth-year kicker appeared in all 17 games for the Vikings last year and went 33-for-38 on field-goal attempts and 36-for-40 on extra-point tries. Standout effort in preseason finale
Joseph drilled field-goal attempts of 46 and 58 yards and converted his one extra-point try during the Vikings' 23-13 preseason loss to the Broncos on Saturday night.
Analysis: The four-year pro couldn't have asked for a better tune-up for the regular season, particularly boosting his confidence with his 58-yard conversion on the first play of the fourth quarter. The long-distance success is nothing new for Joseph, who went 7-for-9 on attempts from 50 yards and beyond a season ago. Analysis: Joseph was solid in 2021, when he converted a career-high 87 percent of his field-goal attempts across 17 games with the Vikings. The 27-year-old currently is the only kicker on Minnesota's roster, and he can be considered the clear favorite to begin the 2022 season as the starter, though another option realistically could be added at the position when offseason workouts ramp up.

Misses two late key FGs
Joseph converted three of five field-goal attempts and his only extra-point attempt in Sunday's win at Carolina. Despite missing a 47-yard attempt at the end of regulation that would have won the game and a 50-yard attempt with seven minutes left in regulation, head coach Mike Zimmer wasn't overly concerned. "Kicking into that wind, and I knew those two were right on the edge, that he missed, I think," Zimmer told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "But he's done a good job. I don't fault him for those."
Analysis: Joseph has seemingly been at the center of every game for the Vikings with a miss as time expired in a loss to Arizona, a made field goal as time expired to win over Detroit and a field goal as time expired to send the game into overtime at Cincinnati. It appears that, so far, the misses haven't put his job in jeopardy.

Analysis: While Joseph missed a potential game-winning 37-yard field goal as time expired in a loss to Arizona, he's also converted long field goals at the buzzer against Detroit and Cincinnati. Joseph converted two field-goal attempts from 52 yards but missed a potential game-winning 37-yard field goal as time expired in Sunday's loss to Arizona. He also missed an extra-point attempt.
Analysis: While Joseph missed the most important field-goal attempt of the game, his job may not be in jeopardy despite coach Mike Zimmer's propensity for switching kickers. Joseph did make two 50-yard plus field goals in Week 2 and made a game-tying 53-yard field goal at the end of regulation in Week 1. General manager Jon Robinson suggested Wednesday that the Titans plan to bring in some competition for Joseph, who finished the 2019 campaign as the team's kicker, Erik Bacharach of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Robinson acknowledged that Joseph did a good job of "steadying the rudder" after he took over kicking duties last December, but the Titans won't hand him the job outright heading into 2020. Specifically, Robinson mentioned that the Titans are still "looking at some guys" in free agency and the upcoming draft. Joseph took over for the injured Ryan Succop (knee) in Week 16 and will likely continue in his role throughout Tennessee's playoff run. However, he did make all four of his extra-point attempts, eliminating mistakes in the kicking game that had plagued the Titans for much of the season. Analysis: Joey Slye missed a 28-yard field goal and a pair of extra points during Sunday's three-point loss to the Saints, leading the Panthers to explore available options at kicker. Joseph went 17-for-20 on field goals and 25-for-29 on extra points with the Browns in 2018, and he could make his way to the 53-man roster if Slye continues to struggle.
