Out in San Francisco
Turner was cut from the 49ers' practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: Turner signed with San Francisco's practice squad Oct. 23, but it now appears the team has decided to move in another direction. The Illinois product most recently appeared in two regular-season games with the 49ers in 2022, playing almost strictly on special teams (49 of 50 total snaps on special teams). In a corresponding move, the 49ers signed veteran wide receiver Russell Gage to their practice squad.

Joins 49ers' practice squad
Turner was signed to the 49ers' practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: Turner was let go by San Francisco in August with an injury settlement, but he will now return to the team. With Brandon Aiyuk (knee) done for the season, Turner will provide the 49ers with another depth option at wide receiver down the stretch.

Let go with injury settlement
The 49ers released Turner from injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Turner was placed on San Francisco's injured reserve Tuesday with an unspecified injury, and he was set to miss the entire 2024 campaign until reaching a settlement two days later. Once healthy, the 28-year-old wide receiver out of Illinois will look to catch onto another team's roster, most likely on the practice squad.

Placed on IR
The 49ers placed Turner (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Analysis: Turner signed a one-year deal with the 49ers on July 25, but he will now be forced to miss the entire 2024 season unless he is waived with an injury settlement. Turner last saw NFL action in 2022 with San Francisco, when he played 49 snaps on special teams across three regular-season outings.

Signs with San Francisco
The 49ers signed Turner to a one-year deal Thursday.
Analysis: With Trent Williams holding out, it opened up a roster spot in San Francisco. Turner appeared in three games for the Niners in 2022 but was out of the league last season after spending most of last summer with the Colts. Turner is now 28 years old and has 29 career catches across 44 contests.

Works out with Cardinals
Arizona worked out Turner (undisclosed) Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: It's the first action Turner has seen since he was cut by Indianapolis prior to Week 1. The Cardinals are relatively thin at the wide receiver position, so it makes some sense that they're looking to bolster their roster there.

Reaches injury settlement
Turner (undisclosed) was waived from injured reserve by the Colts with an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Turner landed on IR with an undisclosed injury, and it remains unclear what he is dealing with. However, he will now be free to play again this season once his health is back up to par. The 27-year-old journeyman has had stints with the Seahawks, Cowboys and 49ers previously in his five-year career.

Lands on IR
The Colts placed Turner (undisclosed) on injured reserve Friday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: The nature of Turner's injury is not known at this time. He is now in line to miss the remainder of the 2023 season unless he and the Colts come to terms on an injury settlement down the line. The 27-year-old was competing for a role providing depth at wide receiver before this move.

Inked by Indy
The Colts signed Turner to a contract Thursday.
Analysis: Turner appeared in three games with the 49ers last season, but he wasn't targeted. He also spent time on the Texans' and Raiders' practice squads. The five-year veteran will now compete to carve out a depth and special-teams role in Indianapolis.

Joins Texans' practice squad
Houston signed Turner to its practice squad Friday.
Analysis: Just a few days after being cut from the Raiders' practice squad, Turner has already found another opportunity to make an impression with the Texans. With Nico Collins (foot) recently having landed on the injured reserve list and Brandin Cooks (calf) and Chris Moore (foot) both questionable for Week 16, Turner could see himself elevated to the active roster sooner rather than later.

Let go by Las Vegas
The Raiders cut Turner from their practice squad Tuesday.

Heading to Las Vegas
The Raiders signed Turner to their practice squad Thursday.
Analysis: Turner was just let go from San Fransisco's practice squad Tuesday, after he already received a maximum of three elevations to the 49ers' active roster in 2022. He'll now serve as an emergency depth option for the Raiders in case any of their wide receivers are forced to miss time. In those three contests Turner suited up for this season, he's operated primarily as a special-teams contributor.

Cut loose from practice squad
The 49ers cut Turner from their practice squad Tuesday, per the team's official site.
Analysis: While Turner has already been elevated to San Fransisco's active roster three times so far this season, he'll now need to sign with the 49ers' 53-man roster in order to be eligible to play for the team again in 2022. In the three contests for which he suited up, the 26-year-old primarily served as a special teams contributor.

Returning to practice squad
Turner reverted to the 49ers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Analysis: Turner didn't see any work on offense in the Week 5 win over the Panthers, but he did record an assisted tackle on kick coverage. This was Turner's third promotion from the practice squad, so he will need to be signed to the active roster if he's going to appear for the 49ers again this season.

Elevated to active roster again
San Francisco activated Turner to its active roster Saturday for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The move will mark Turner's third elevation and his second in as many weeks. The undrafted rookie out of Illinois has served primarily on special teams over his first two appearances and figures to garner a similar role in Week 5.

Elevated to active roster
Turner has been elevated to the 49ers active roster ahead of Monday's Week 4 contest against the Rams.
Analysis: The move will mark Turner's second elevation, which means he'll only be eligible for one more standard promotion before the 49ers would need to officially sign him to the active roster. The undrafted wideout out of Illinois played primarily on special teams during his Week 1 elevation and figures to garner a similar role against Los Angeles.

Reverts to practice squad
Turner reverted to the 49ers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: Turner did not record any traditional counting statistics while primarily playing on special teams (18 of his 19 total snaps) during San Francisco's season opener Sunday. The 26-year-old wideout caught 12 of his 16 targets for 149 yards and three scores over 14 contests with Dallas last year. PIcked up for Week 1
Turner has been elevated to the 49ers' active roster ahead of Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Bears, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Turner was unable to earn a spot on the team's 53-man roster during final cuts and subsequently signed with the practice squad. However, he has since earned a spot on the Week 1 roster as the team's No. 6 wide receiver. Still, he is most likely to contribute on special teams rather than offense.

The 49ers signed Turner to the practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: Turner ultimately returned to San Francisco via the practice squad following his release by the team Tuesday. Loses out on spot with Niners
Turner was released by the 49ers on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Turner signed with the 49ers in April but didn't do enough this summer and preseason to secure a final roster spot. The wide receiver played in 14 games with the Cowboys last season, producing 149 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 12 catches. Turner will likely sign with a new team ahead of the 2022 campaign instead of returning to the 49ers' practice squad.

Gets chance with Niners
Turner signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Monday.
Analysis: Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk head into 2022 as the 49ers' clear top two receivers, but Turner should get the chance to compete for the No. 3 role with Jauan Jennings and a host of other wideouts. Turner suited up in 14 games for Dallas in 2021, tallying 12 receptions for 149 yards and three touchdowns on 16 targets.

Scores three TDs in 2021
Turner caught 12 of 16 targets for 149 yards and three touchdowns over 14 games this season.
Analysis: Despite his limited usage on offense, Turner demonstrated a nose for the end zone, catching two TDs in Week 9 against a stingy Broncos secondary and grabbing his third in Week 16 against Washington. A free agent in the offseason, the former Seahawk could return to Dallas in a depth role again or look for greater opportunities to complete for a starting job elsewhere.

Will play against New Orleans
Turner (undisclosed) is set to be available against the Saints on Thursday.
Analysis: Turner was on the Cowboys' injury report all week leading up to Thursday's game, but the receiver will be active for the primetime contest. One catch in Sunday's loss
Turner caught one of two targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 19-9 loss to Kansas City.
Analysis: With Amari Cooper sidelined due to COVID-19 and then CeeDee Lamb leaving Sunday's game early with a concussion, the Cowboys' depth options at wide receiver were forced to see more action than usual. Even if both Lamb and Cooper are out for Thursday's game against the Raiders, Turner will still be behind Michael Gallup and Cedrick Wilson in the pecking order and would have to battle Noah Brown for the No. 3 role, giving him limited fantasy appeal.

Scores twice in garbage time
Turner caught five of seven targets for 33 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: The catches were the first of the season for Turner, who did all his damage inside the final five minutes of the game with the Cowboys down 30-0. The garbage-time usage was impressive, but the 25-year-old probably will need multiple injuries ahead of him on the wide receiver depth chart to have any kind of role in the offense Week 10 against the Falcons.

The Cowboys activated Turner (foot) from injured reserve Saturday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Turner (foot) was designated to return from injured reserve Thursday, Rob Phillips of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Turner was claimed off waivers by the Cowboys on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Turner was waived by the Packers on Saturday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Analysis: The cutting of Jake Kumerow, Darrius Shepherd, Reggie Begelton and Malik Turner sure seems to signal something else might be on the horizon for the Packers in terms of their receiving corps, as Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown are essentially the only form of depth at the position behind starters Davante Adams and Allen Lazard.

Links up with Packers
The Packers and Turner agreed to terms of a contract Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: After going undrafted in 2018, Turner joined forces with the Seahawks but spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad. Last year, he had a regular role in the team's wide receiver rotation, eventually posting a 15-245-1 line on 22 targets across 15 appearances. Notably, six of those catches went for more than 20 yards. With the Packers, expect Turner to compete for one of the final WR spots on the regular-season roster.

Has tender removed
The Seahawks rescinded the exclusive rights tender from Turner on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Seattle has a clear-cut top WR duo of Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, and after adding Phillip Dorsett in free agency, the team has decided to move on from Turner, who put up a 15-245-1 line on 22 targets in 15 games last season. The Seahawks tendered exclusive rights free agent Turner on Monday, Andy Patton of USA Today reports.
Analysis: In his first season as a regular in Seattle's offense, Turner managed a career-best three catches in Weeks 2 and 15, while six of his 15 grabs went for more than 20 yards. He'll continue to work for slotting at wide receiver behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, with David Moore and potentially a draft pick his primary competition in 2020.

No catches in playoff loss
Turner, who didn't catch any of his three targets during Sunday's 28-23 divisional-round loss to the Packers, finished with 15 receptions for 245 yards and a touchdown over 15 regular-season games.
Analysis: Turner was the team's No. 3 wide receiver during this playoff loss, and he had a costly drop, which would've been a first down, on the team's final offensive drive. Overall this year, Turner rotated with David Moore and Jaron Brown as the team's No. 3 wideout behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. Turner will be an exclusive-rights free agent in March, and he stands a good chance to make the 53-man roster in 2020 due to his consistent usage on special teams.

Turner (concussion) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's divisional-round game at Green Bay, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Now that Turner got through the concussion protocol, he's set to serve as the Seahawks' No. 3 wide receiver behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. While his contributions were sporadic throughout the regular season, Turner averaged a whopping 11.1 YPT and 16.3 YPC on 22 targets scattered across 15 games.

Turner (concussion) was listed as a full participant on Thursday's injury report, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: The Seahawks have yet to declare if Turner has completed his journey through the concussion protocol, but elevating from 'limited' activity Wednesday to uncapped one day later bodes well for the second-year wide receiver being cleared before Sunday's visit to Green Bay. Turner (concussion) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Coach Pete Carroll didn't provide much detail about Turner's progress, but the wideout is on the right track by getting on the field for the Seahawks' first official practice of the week. The 23-year-old still needs to elevate to full participation and get cleared by an independent neurologist before he can play in Sunday's divisional-round matchup versus the Packers.

Won't play Sunday night
Turner (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Turner entered the concussion protocol after playing a career-high 51 percent of the Seahawks' offensive snaps in last week's 27-13 loss to the Cardinals. David Moore and Jaron Brown are the leading candidates to absorb the vacated snaps, but Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf and Jacob Hollister are far safer bets to draw targets.

Dealing with concussion
Turner was listed as a non-participant Wednesday on the Seahawks' estimated practice report with a concussion, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Analysis: Turner's inclusion on the Seahawks' first injury report of Week 17 was a surprise, given that no reports had surfaced coming out of Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Cardinals indicating that the second-year wideout had sustained an injury in the contest. The 23-year-old will now have two days' worth of practice to try and increase his activity and potentially gain clearance from the NFL's five-step concussion protocol ahead of this weekend's matchup with the 49ers.

Back in No. 3 role
Turner caught one of three targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Cardinals.
Analysis: With Josh Gordon (suspension) out of the lineup, Turner stepped back into the No. 3 wideout role, logging 29 offensive snaps compared to David Moore's 10 and Jaron Brown's seven. Turner's far less talented than the likes of Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, so his upside is limited in a typically run-heavy scheme.

Catches three passes
Turner hauled in all three targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Turner played 20 of a possible 67 defensive snaps (30 percent), coming in No 4 among receivers and well ahead of Jaron Brown (11) and David Moore (10). While he's earned the trust of Russell Wilson in some key situations this season, Turner's fantasy upside is limited, surpassing 35 yards just once over 14 games.

Notches first career TD
Turner caught a 33-yard touchdown pass in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: The Seahawks caught the Eagles off guard in the first quarter with a flea flicker, and Russell Wilson found Turner in the end zone for his only passing touchdown of the afternoon. This was Turner's first touchdown of his career, and he now has 10 catches for 186 yards on 13 targets this year. Analysis: The second-year pro recorded a season-high 35 of a possible 74 offensive snaps, more than doubling his previous best of 17 snaps. The extra frame and Tyler Lockett's lower leg injury aided his increase in usage, and he out-snapped David Moore (20) while Jaron Brown was a healthy scratch.
