Analysis: Gaskin once again played second fiddle to Patrick Laird during Sunday's loss, but he notched season-high totals in terms of both rushing and receiving yards. The rookie seventh-round pick has steadily earned increased touches down the stretch, and he could realistically operate in a near-even timeshare with Laird against the Bengals in Week 16.

Analysis: The rookie seventh-round pick once again played second fiddle to Patrick Laird, who is operating as Miami's featured option out of the backfield. Even with Kalen Ballage (Achilles) now on injured reserve, Gaskin's lack of production, albeit in a small sample, may be keeping him from garnering a larger role. It remains to be seen whether Gaskin, or potentially recent pickup Zach Zenner, will operate as the primary backup to Laird down the stretch.

Gaskin is expected to see increased involvement out of the Miami backfield after Kalen Ballage (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Gaskin stands to duke it out with Patrick Laird and Zach Zenner for backfield work to close out the season, while De'Lance Turner looms as more of a special-teams contributor. Analysis: Even after lead back Kalen Ballage (leg) was forced out of Sunday's game in the second quarter, Gaskin didn't garner a substantial workload. Instead, fellow rookie Patrick Laird took over Miami's backfield reps, rushing 10 times for five yards and a score and turning five targets into four catches for 43 yards. It appears as though Gaskin could remain in a reserve role even if Ballage is forced to miss significant time.

Analysis: Gaskin's workload appears to be ramping up following the recent release of Mark Walton, and with Kalen Ballage's continued inability to reliably produce, the Dolphins' backfield could trend towards a timeshare as the season concludes. In the event that Ballage loses his tenuous grip on the No. 1 job, Gaskin and fellow rookie Patrick Laird each would push for larger roles.

Analysis: Gaskin has now gained zero yards on both of his 2019 touches. Gains no yardage in win
Gaskin caught his only target for no yards in Sunday's 16-12 win over the Colts.
Analysis: Gaskin got bumped up the depth chart in the absence of Mark Walton (suspension) and recorded the first touch of his career. There may not be too many more this season, even without Walton. If Sunday is any indication, Kalen Ballage will enjoy the lion's share of touches in Walton's absence while Patrick Laird fills in behind. Primed for backup role
Gaskin is likely to climb Miami's depth chart and play a reserve role with Mark Walton serving a four-game suspension, Safid Deen of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Gaskin hasn't yet gotten a chance to play this season, but he and Patrick Laird will now be forced into depth roles behind Kalen Ballage for at least the next four weeks. The Dolphins may opt to add another running back to the roster, but the team could realistically also attempt to make the most of Walton's suspension by taking a look at Gaskin, a rookie selected in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
