Garners 72 total yards, TD in loss
Robinson rushed 16 times for 63 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for nine yards in the Commanders' 26-18 loss to the Eagles on Thursday night.
Analysis: Robinson opened the scoring on a one-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter, his seventh rushing TD of the season. Six of those trips to the end zone have come in the last six contests, and Robinson has managed at least Thursday's rushing yardage total in four of the last five games. Robinson does continue to be the clear lead back when healthy -- Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols combined for only five rush attempts against Philadelphia -- and that pattern should continue in a highly…read more

Ready to return in Week 11
Robinson (hamstring) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game at Philadelphia, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Analysis: After missing the last two games due to a lingering hamstring injury, Robinson will be back in action Week 11. His full participation in practice Wednesday indicates that he has a decent chance to retain his position as Washington's primary runner, but Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez all will be on hand for reps, too. In seven contests this season, Robinson is averaging 15.7 touches for 77.1 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring six times on the ground.

Stays limited in walkthrough
Robinson (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough practice.
Analysis: After sitting out the Commanders' last two games with a hamstring injury, Robinson has been listed as limited on the team's first two Week 11 injury reports, both of which were estimates. Earlier Tuesday, head coach Dan Quinn told JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington that the Commanders will hold a higher-intensity practice Wednesday, which should offer a better picture of his likely status for Thursday's game in Philadelphia. If Robinson ends up sitting out a third straight game or is available…read more

Estimated as limited Monday
Robinson (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant on Monday's practice estimate.
Analysis: Robinson didn't practice this past Friday before being ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Steelers. Though the Commanders merely held a walkthrough Monday, Robinson's limited listing suggests that he may have a chance to return to the lineup Thursday night against the Eagles. Look for further context regarding his Week 11 status to arrive no later than Tuesday, when Washington's next injury report is issued. If Robinson remains sidelined versus Philadelphia, Austin Ekeler would be in…read more

Ruled out for Week 10
Robinson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Robinson ended up inactive as a game-time decision last week and now will miss a second straight game. Austin Ekeler filled in as the starting RB in a 27-22 win over the Giants on Sunday, but Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols got most of the work late in the game while nursing a lead, with Ekeler ultimately taking just four touches after halftime. A tighter game could work more in Ekeler's favor, and he's at least a good bet to dominate backfield snaps on passing downs. Robinson's next…read more

Not seen at practice
Robinson (hamstring) isn't participating in the media-access portion of practice Friday and may be a game-time decision for a matchup with the Steelers on Sunday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Robinson was a game-time decision last week, with reports Saturday night and Sunday morning suggesting he was expected to play. The Commanders then made him inactive for a 28-23 win over the Giants -- a series of events that likely will have fantasy managers approaching the situation with great caution this week. Robinson was a limited practice participant all last week and again this Wednesday and Thursday.

Another limited session
Robinson (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.
Analysis: Robinson remains with a cap on his practice reps for a second week in a row due to a hamstring injury. On the first occasion this past Sunday against the Giants, he was inactive, so it remains to be seen if another absence is in the offing. In any case, Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols and practice-squad member Chris Rodriguez are on hand in the event Robinson sits out again this weekend.

Limited in practice
Robinson (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Analysis: A limited participant all last week, Robinson was listed as questionable on the final injury report and ended up inactive for a 28-23 win over the Giants on Sunday. His absence freed up a larger role for Austin Ekeler, but the Commanders also gave Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez some work, especially late in the game while trying to run out the clock with a lead. Robinson will look to upgrade to full practice participation by Friday to clear up any concern about his availability for…read more

Slated to practice Wednesday
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said that Robinson (hamstring) will practice Wednesday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The extent of Robinson's participation won't be known until Washington releases its first Week 10 injury report later Wednesday, but Quinn said that the staff is "really going to push it" with the running back in advance of Sunday's game against the Steelers. Despite being listed as questionable coming out of the Commanders' final Week 9 practice last Friday, Robinson had been expected to play against the Giants, but he was a surprise inactive ahead of the team's eventual 27-22 win. Inactive in Week 9
Robinson (hamstring) is listed as inactive Sunday at the Giants.
Analysis: Robinson was limited during Week 9 prep due to a hamstring injury, entering the weekend as questionable to suit up Sunday. Following a pregame warmup that didn't appear to go well, he's now confirmed to be out for the second time this season. With Robinson unavailable, Austin Ekeler likely will lead the Commanders backfield, with Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez also on hand for RB reps.

Likely inactive Sunday
Robinson (hamstring) is expected to be inactive Sunday at the Giants, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: After being limited in practice during the entirety of Week 9 prep due to a hamstring injury, Robinson entered the weekend as questionable. He then took part in a pregame warmup that apparently didn't go swimmingly, and following a lengthy discussion with the Commanders' training staff, things begin to trend toward him not suiting up. Now that it's confirmed Robinson is out for Sunday's game, the Commanders backfield likely will be paced by Austin Ekeler, while Jeremy McNichols and Chris…read more

Trending toward playing Sunday
Head coach Dan Quinn noted ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants that Robinson (hamstring) -- who listed as questionable -- is "doing great and ready to get rolling with everybody today," Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Per Garafolo, the Commanders are in line to work Robinson out, but at this stage it appears as though the running back is slated to be available versus New York. Either way, official confirmation of Robinson's Week 9 status will arrive when Washington's inactives are posted in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff.

Appears set to play Sunday
Robinson (hamstring), who is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Robinson dealt with a hamstring injury throughout the week and was held to a trio of limited practice sessions. Despite the hamstring issue, he appears on track to suit up and take the field in the NFC East matchup versus New York. Robinson racked up 133 yards on 17 carries against the Giants when the teams met for the first time this season back in Week 2.

Listed as questionable
Robinson (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Robinson was a limited practice participant Wednesday through Friday, potentially setting up a game-time decision ahead of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday. Austin Ekeler becomes a strong fantasy play if Robinson is inactive, with Jeremy McNichols then stepping in as the No. 2 back and perhaps offering deep-league value.

Remains limited Thursday
Robinson (hamstring) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday.
Analysis: After tending to a knee injury for most of October that resulted in one DNP and another abbreviated outing, Robinson now is dealing with a new health concern that so far has capped his reps this week. He thus will have one more chance to get back to full participation or else potentially risk entering the weekend with a designation for Sunday's road game against the Giants. In the six contests in which he's earned at least a 40 percent snap share, Robinson has averaged 17.2 touches for 87 yards…read more

Listed with hamstring injury
Robinson was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Robinson dealt with a knee injury the past month, missing one full game and half of another. That injury has apparently cleared up, but now he's listed with a hamstring issue, albeit one that probably isn't serious given his practice participation at the start of the week. Any limitations this Sunday against the Giants would lead to more work for Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols.

Modest numbers in win
Robinson rushed the ball 16 times for 65 yards in Sunday's 18-15 win over the Bears. He added one reception on one target for 11 yards.
Analysis: The Commanders let standout rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels lead the offense, as he took to the air 38 times and also accounted for eight of the team's 32 rush attempts. Nevertheless, Robinson had a decent performance when called upon, tallying a long gain of 19 yards while gaining at least four yards on half of his 16 carries. The Commanders' only touchdown came on a Hail Mary to end the game, which also ended Robison's four-game streak of reaching the end zone.

Produces early in blowout win
Robinson rushed the ball 12 times for 71 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 40-7 win over the Panthers. He was not targeted.
Analysis: Robinson returned after a one-game absence and delivered early with eight carries for 53 yards and a touchdown before halftime. He found the end zone on an eight-yard scamper early in the second quarter and was efficient overall. The final stat line will suggest that Jeremy McNichols worked in an even split with Robinson, but the latter only saw three carries in the final two quarters due to the blowout nature of the contest. Ready to roll in Week 7
Robinson (knee) is active for Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the Panthers.
Analysis: Robinson missed the Week 6 loss to the Ravens with his knee injury, but after managing a limited practice in each day of Week 7 prep, he's back on the field as expected. As such, Robinson should be back in his customary lead-back role for what has been one of the most inviting matchups for running backs thus far this season, as the Panthers are surrendering 153.5 rushing yards per game.

On track to play Sunday
Robinson (knee) remains listed as questionable but is expected to play Sunday against the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: After not practicing at all last week and missing last Sunday's loss to the Ravens, Robinson got in a round of limited practices this week and seems to be trending in this direction. Robinson should step right back into his role atop the Commanders backfield, handling the bulk of the early-down work while Austin Ekeler mixes in and sees the majority of the passing-down snaps.

Questionable after limited practice
Robinson (knee) remained limited at practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Carolina, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Robinson was a limited participant Wednesday through Friday, after sitting out all of last week and missing a 30-23 loss at Baltimore. He'll now try to play through his knee injury for a second time in three weeks, and while the matchup against a one-win, injury-riddled Panthers team is undoubtedly excellent, there is some added injury risk if Robinson ends up playing, as was seen Week 5 when he scored two first-half TDs against the Browns but then didn't play in the second half and finished…read more

Analysis: Robinson now has back-to-back capped sessions under his belt this week, giving him one more chance to get back to full participation Friday before the Commanders potentially tag him with a designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers. Analysis: Robinson took part in his first on-field work since a Week 5 win against the Browns, as he didn't practice last Wednesday through Friday before being ruled out for this past Sunday's game at Baltimore. Returning to practice Wednesday
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said that Robinson (knee) will take part in practice Wednesday, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Analysis: Robinson failed to practice last Wednesday through Friday prior to being ruled out for Washington's loss to the Ravens in Week 6, so practicing in even a limited capacity to kick off Week 7 prep represents a notable step in the right direction. The third-year pro will work to gain clearance in time for Sunday's matchup against the Panthers and rejoin Austin Ekeler atop the Commanders' backfield depth chart.

Downgraded to out
Robinson (knee) was downgraded from questionable to out for Sunday's game Ravens.
Analysis: Robinson failed to practice all week, so the Commanders' decision to downgrade him isn't a major surprise. With Robinson out of the mix, Austin Ekeler will take over as the team's No. 1 back and should see plenty of work as both a pass catcher and runner. Jeremy McNichols should serve as Ekeler's primary backup, while Chris Rodriguez was elevated from the practice squad to provide a third option out of the backfield.

Robinson played through the same injury last week, but that was after returning to practice Friday, and he ended up missing the second half after scoring a pair of TDs before halftime in an eventual 34-13 win over Cleveland. Analysis: The third-year running back set a new career high in rushing yards, topping the 105 yards he put together in Week 12 of the 2022 season. While Robinson couldn't get into the end zone Sunday, he helped keep the chains moving as the Commanders mounted seven drives that ended in field goals. Austin Ekeler also had a productive game with 85 scrimmage yards, but Robinson is the clear top option in the Commanders' backfield heading into a Week 3 clash with the Bengals.

Scores TD as lead back in Week 1
Robinson rushed 12 times for 40 yards and a touchdown while catching three of four targets for 49 yards in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Robinson finished with 12 carries and four targets to Austin Ekeler's two carries and four targets, though Ekeler (52) was the only Commander to post more receiving yards than Robinson in the game. Robinson's production included a seven-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter and a 32-yard reception in the third quarter that set up a one-yard Jayden Daniels rushing touchdown on the next play. Gets first RB touch Saturday
Robinson rushed three times for 22 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game in the Commanders' 13-6 preseason loss to the Dolphins on Saturday night.
Analysis: Robinson logged the Commanders' first touch from scrimmage, which went for no gain, before rattling off a pair of 11-yard runs on consecutive plays to open Washington's second possession. Robinson and Austin Ekeler split snaps on the first two drives, with both then coming out of the game at the same time as QB Jayden Daniels and WR Terry McLaurin. While Ekeler figures to have a significant role, especially on passing downs, Robinson is set to enter Week 1 as Washington's lead runner.

Splits first-team snaps with Ekeler
Robinson rushed five times for 20 yards and wasn't targeted in Saturday's 20-17 preseason loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Robinson and Austin Ekeler (two carries for seven yards) both mixed in on the opening drive, which was the only drive that rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels played. Daniels capped that possession with a three-yard touchdown run. Robinson faces increased competition for touches from Ekeler, and Daniels is also a threat to vulture goal-line rushing looks after scoring 21 rushing TDs in his last two years at LSU, but the ceiling for Washington's entire offense is far higher with Daniels at the…read more

Listed as co-starter with Ekeler
Robinson and Ekeler both are listed as starters on Washington's initial preseason depth chart.
Analysis: The two are expected to form a timeshare, with Robinson likely getting more carries and Ekeler more targets, though offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury said Tuesday that Robinson is "a power back who has great hands." Kingsbury also said that he doesn't think Ekeler's 2023 struggles with the Chargers were due to physical decline, noting that the 29-year-old "hasn't lost a step" and is "as fast and as strong as I've seen him." New backfield competition
Robinson is slated to compete for backfield work with veteran Austin Ekeler, whom the Commanders are set to sign to a two-year contract, Kris Rhim of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Robinson will also lose one form of competition with Antonio Gibson set to sign with the Patriots, but it's seems clear that Washington felt the need to bring in an established pass catcher out of the backfield. Ekeler is coming off the worst season of his career in terms of efficiency, though he did deal with a high-ankle sprain and questionable blocking. Robinson, on the other hand, improved his YPC to 4.1 after managing only 3.9 as a rookie, finishing with 733 rushing yards and five scores…read more

Gets into end zone in Week 18 loss
Robinson carried the ball nine times for 25 yards and caught all three of his targets for 10 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: The rushing yards total, while feeble, led the Commanders on the day, and Robinson also lost a fumble -- although he atoned for it with a one-yard TD grab early in the second quarter when the outcome of the game was still in doubt. The second-year RB showed growth in his skills in 2023, establishing himself as a fairly reliable receiving option and improving his YPC marginally from 3.9 as a rookie to 4.1. Tallies 76 yards in return
Robinson rushed the ball nine times for 44 yards in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the 49ers. He added four receptions on four targets for 32 yards.
Analysis: Robinson returned from a two-game absence caused by a hamstring injury and immediately retook the primary role in Washington's backfield. He accounted for 13 total touches as compared to six for Antonio Gibson and led the team with 76 scrimmage yards. Robinson is likely to maintain the same role in Week 18, though his production could have to come primarily as a pass catcher given the likelihood that the Commanders are playing from behind against the Cowboys.

Ready to play
Robinson (hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: With the help of a Week 14 bye, Robinson ultimately will miss only two games with what seemed to be a significant hamstring injury. Chris Rodriguez (ankle) filled in as the lead runner and had a pair of rushing TD in last week's loss to the Jets, but he then landed on injured reserve, leaving little question about Robinson's role over the final two weeks. Analysis: With back-to-back capped sessions in his back pocket this week, Robinson may be closing in on his first game action since Week 13, when he initially injured his hamstring. The Commanders may be anticipating Robinson being active Sunday against the 49ers after placing fellow running back Chris Rodriguez (ankle) on injured reserve Thursday. Analysis: Robinson took part in his first official on-field work since injuring his hamstring back in Week 13 against the Dolphins. He was sidelined for the entire second half of that contest and also the Commanders' next two games following a Week 14 bye. Analysis: As expected after a second straight week of missed practice, though Robinson did at least manage some side work with the training staff. His next chance to play will be Dec. 31 against the 49ers. In the meantime, Chris Rodriguez and Antonio Gibson figure to get most of the backfield snaps/touches, with Jonathan Williams (concussion) or Derrick Gore potentially being elevated from the practice squad for depth.

Robinson (hamstring) was seen working out on the side at Thursday's practice, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It's unclear if Robinson has a chance to mix into drills Thursday, but if he goes down as a non-participant for a second consecutive day, he'll have only one more chance this week to do so before the Commanders potentially make a ruling on his status for Sunday's game at the Jets. Analysis: Robinson didn't practice last week and missed Sunday's 28-20 loss to the Rams, with his absence freeing up more work for Chris Rodriguez and Jonathan Williams (concussion) while Antonio Gibson stayed in his familiar pass-catching role. Another Robinson absence this Sunday against the Jets could work even more in Rodriguez's favor now that Williams is in concussion protocol, though it's also possible the Commanders expand Gibson's role a bit.

Analysis: Robinson hasn't practiced since injuring his hamstring in a Week 13 loss to Miami and now will miss Washington's first game since the Week 14 bye. Analysis: Robinson missed the second half of Washington's Week 13 loss to Miami and apparently is still tending to the hamstring injury after a Week 14 bye. The Commanders have ruled out Robinson for the second half of Sunday's game against the Dolphins due to a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Robinson carried seven times for 53 yards and went without a target through the first two quarters of the game before departing. The extent of Robinson's injury isn't known, but the second-year running back will at least have the benefit of a well-timed Week 14 bye to recover from the health concern before the Commanders return to action Dec. 17 against the Rams. Robinson rushed the ball 17 times for 73 yards in Sunday's 31-19 loss to the Giants. He added seven receptions on nine targets for 58 yards.

He ripped off gains of 18 and 11 yards on the ground to reach 70 rushing yards for the third time this season. Robinson took eight carries for 38 yards while catching all six of his targets for 119 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 29-26 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: Robinson's big day as a pass catcher resulted in a new single-game high in receiving yards while nearly doubling the combined air production from his previous nine contests in one fell swoop. The second-year back did finish with single-digit carries for the third time this season, but he offset the low usage as a rusher by providing a fantasy line most managers would be content with from their top wide receiver. Scores seventh scrimmage TD of 2023

Analysis: Robinson sauntered into the end zone untouched from nine yards out to put Washington up 10-0 in the second quarter, but he fumbled on the Commanders' next drive. After scoring only three scrimmage touchdowns in 12 games as a rookie last season, Robinson has seven touchdowns through nine games in his second NFL campaign. Analysis: Robinson encountered tough sledding on the ground against a feisty Falcons front, but he found the end zone as a receiver for the first time since Week 1 on an impressive 24-yard catch and run early in the third quarter. The second-year back is now in a three-game funk as a runner, as he hasn't eclipsed 45 rushing yards in any contest during that span. Robinson rushed six times for 10 yards and brought in all four targets for 33 yards in the Commanders' 40-20 loss to the Bears on Thursday night.
Analysis: Robinson's viability in the ground attack quickly evaporated when the Commanders fell behind by more than three touchdowns in the first half. That helped push him into more of a pass-catching role, resulting in a season high in receptions. Finds end zone in OT loss
Robinson carried the ball 14 times for 45 yards and a touchdown and caught both his targets for six yards in Sunday's 34-31 overtime loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: The running back found paydirt midway through the fourth quarter on a 15-yard run, tying the game at 24-24 and setting up a wild finish. The yardage was Robinson's lowest in four games so far this season, but he's scored four TDs along the way to maintain strong fantasy value. Robinson rushed 10 times for 70 yards and wasn't targeted in the Commanders' 37-3 loss to the Bills on Sunday.
Analysis: Robinson was outstanding on a per-touch basis, but game script and his lack of targets capped his overall production. The second-year back has looked appreciably more explosive early this season after playing a shortened rookie campaign due to a leg injury, and prior to Sunday, he'd drawn five targets over the first two games. The 24-year-old acted as Washington's lead back, receiving 18 of the 20 carries issued to running backs Sunday. The rookie running back rushed for 96 yards on 15 carries and caught both of his targets for 15 yards against the same opponent in Washington's previous game.

Another limited practice
Robinson (quadriceps) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Both Robinson and Antonio Gibson (foot) have logged back-to-back capped sessions this week following a Week 14 bye. Robinson entered the Commanders' in-season respite having recorded between 15 and 26 touches for five consecutive games, including 23 touches for 111 yards from scrimmage in the team's last contest two weeks ago against the Giants, who just so happen to be his opponent this Sunday.

Limited with quad injury
Robinson was a limited practice participant Wednesday with a quadriceps injury, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Antonio Gibson (foot) also was listed as limited on Washington's first practice report after a Week 14 bye. Both running backs appear on track to play Sunday against the Giants, with Robinson the favorite to get more carries after running 39 times for 201 yards between Weeks 12 and 13. That included a 21-96-0 rushing and 2-15-0 receiving line a couple weeks ago against the same Giants defense he'll face Sunday.

Leads backfield in tie
Robinson rushed 21 times for 96 yards and secured both targets for 15 yards in the Commanders' 20-20 tie with the Giants on Sunday. He also committed a fumble that was recovered by Washington.
Analysis: The rookie once again helmed the backfield, out-carrying Antonio Gibson by a 12-tote margin while also tying his teammate with a pair of receptions, albeit on two fewer targets. Robinson's long run went for a modest 16 yards, so it was a grind-it-out type of effort for the Alabama product. Robinson now has 201 rushing yards on 39 carries in the last two games alone, seemingly affording him an unquestioned lead-back role going into the team's Week 14 bye.

Thrives in lead role
Robinson rushed the ball 18 times for 105 yards in Sunday's 19-13 win over the Falcons. He added two receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: Robinson led the Washington backfield with 22 touches compared to 12 for Antonio Gibson. That likely had to do with game script, as Washington held a small lead for the majority of the game and was content to keep the ball on the ground in rainy weather. Robinson took advantage of the opportunity by topping 100 rushing yards in a game for the first time in his career while ripping off runs of 21, 12 and 11 yards to get there. He also found his way to the end zone on a 14-yard score to tally…read more

Draws 15 carries
Robinson ran for 57 yards on 15 carries against Houston on Sunday.
Analysis: It's disappointing that Robinson couldn't get more going on the ground against Houston's weak run defense, and somewhat concerning that seeming backup Antonio Gibson saw 18 carries to Robinson's 15, and three targets to Robinson's none. Gibson appears to be the team's preferred passing-down target between the two, so Robinson would ideally hold a decisive lead over Gibson as the team's preferred pure runner. The Washington backfield will continue to be a bit perplexing for fantasy managers…read more

Busiest game of young career
Robinson rushed 26 times for 86 yards and one touchdown in Monday's 32-21 win over the Eagles. He wasn't targeted in the passing game.
Analysis: After watching Antonio Gibson score from one yard out in the first quarter, Robinson matched that feat late in the second. Robinson was bottled up initially but kept his legs churning and had the wherewithal to reach the ball across the goal line before he was ruled down. The rookie third-round pick out of Alabama set new career highs in carries and rushing yards, so his arrow's pointing up ahead of a juicy Week 11 matchup with Houston's league-worst run defense.

Tough sledding on ground in loss
Robinson rushed 13 times for 44 yards and brought in both targets for minus-6 yards in the Commanders' 20-17 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
Analysis: Robinson was once again mostly stymied on the ground, with his long run of the day going for just six yards. The rookie outpaced backfield mate Antonio Gibson by just two carries overall after checking in second to him in that category Week 8, but he should continue to helm the ground game in a tough Week 10 road matchup against the Eagles on Monday night, Nov. 14.

Step back in involvement
Robinson carried the ball eight times for 20 yards in Sunday's 17-16 win over the Colts.
Analysis: Coming off a 20-carry performance, Robinson took a back seat to Antonio Gibson in Sunday's win. He was completely uninvolved as a receiver and ineffective as a runner, as he averaged only 2.5 yards per carry and his longest rush of the day went for just seven yards. Robinson could continue to serve as the Commanders' lead back moving forward, though this performance highlights the fragility of his production given his lack of involvement as a pass catcher and the continued involvement of Gibson.

Racks up 22 touches in win
Robinson rushed 20 times for 73 yards and caught both of his targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 23-21 win over the Packers.
Analysis: Robinson got nine more touches than Antonio Gibson, but Gibson got into the end zone on a nine-yard catch in the second quarter. Both of Washington's top two running backs should continue to play prominent roles in Week 8 against the Colts and beyond. Robinson's averaging only 3.4 yards per carry through three NFL games, but he's taken on a workhorse role with 37 rushing attempts over the past two games.

Scores TD in first start
Robinson rushed 17 times for 60 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders' 12-7 win over the Bears on Thursday night.
Analysis: The rookie had a tough time with efficiency against a surprisingly stout Bears front Thursday night, but he did put an exclamation point on his first pro start with a one-yard touchdown run with 7:21 remaining. The score was the first of Robinson's career following the delayed start to his rookie season due to leg injuries suffered in a late-August robbery attempt, but his workload Thursday night suggests there will be plenty more opportunity for him to visit the end zone moving forward.…read more

Expected to draw Week 6 start
Robinson is expected to serve as Washington's starting running back during Thursday's game against the Bears, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network report.
Analysis: During his NFL debut in last week's loss to the Titans after he missed the Commanders' first four games while recovering from two gunshot wounds in his leg, Robinson came off the bench and was part of a three-man backfield committee with starter Antonio Gibson and pass-catching specialist J.D. McKissic. Leads backfield in debut
Robinson carried the ball nine times for 22 yards in Sunday's 21-17 loss to the Titans.
Analysis: Robinson made his NFL debut after missing the Commanders' first four games due to a leg injury he sustained during an attempted robbery Aug. 28. It was reported he would be on a pitch count as a result, but he still dominated touches out of the backfield by out-carrying Antonio Gibson 9-3. It has yet to be seen how efficient Robinson can be, but it appears that he should see plenty of opportunity moving forward.

Robinson will be activated off the reserve/non-football injury list and is expected to make his season debut against the Titans on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The Commanders designated Robinson to return to practice earlier this week, setting the stage for Saturday's announcement. The rookie had allegedly earned the starting nod during the preseason prior to sustaining gunshot wounds in his right leg, which required surgery. Through the first four games of the season, both Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic have seen work as pass catchers, with the latter registering 19 receptions thus far in 2022. Could debut Week 5
Coach Ron Rivera said Monday it looks "very promising" Robinson (knee) could play Week 5 versus the Titans, Matthew Paras of The Washington Times reports.
Analysis: Robinson hasn't yet been activated off the reserve/non-football injury list, but it's expected that such a move could be looming, with Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post reporting that the rookie running back is in line to participate in practice Wednesday. The Commanders may opt to ease Robinson back into action, but he eventually could eat into the workloads of both Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic this season.

Expected to be activated Week 5
The Commanders are expected to activate Robinson (knee) from the reserve/non-football injury list Week 5, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Robinson continues to make an encouraging recovery from the two gunshot wounds he suffered to his lower body as the victim of an attempted robbery late August. Washington hasn't offered an official timetable for Robinson's expected return to the field, which would mark his NFL debut, but it will be a notable step in the right direction if he's indeed able to resume practicing next week. When back to full form, Robinson will join a backfield currently helmed by Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic.

Making progress
Robinson (knee) has avoided any "ill effects" while ramping up his workload in recent weeks, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Robinson is ruled out through Week 4 on the reserve/non-football injury list but reportedly has a chance to return as soon as he's eligible Week 5. His role at that time partially will depend on the performance of Antonio Gibson, who had 130 total yards in a Week 1 win over Jacksonville before sinking to 41 yards in a Week 2 loss to Detroit.

Robinson (knee) took part in agility work off to the side of practices Wednesday and Thursday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

Robinson (knee) has a "realistic" chance to return to the field Week 5, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Robinson will be out through at least the first four games of the season due to his placement on the reserve/non-football injury list, but the rookie third-round pick may not be sidelined beyond the minimum amount of time while he continues to make good progress in his recovery from being shot twice in the leg during an attempted robbery Aug. 28. Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said Wednesday that the swelling in Robinson's wounded knee has gone down "an awful lot," and the rookie running back is no longer using crutches to move about, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Just over a week removed from being the victim of a shooting in an apparent attempted robbery, Robinson already appears to be making a swift recovery. Robinson will open the season on the reserve/Non-Football Injury list, meaning he won't be eligible to play in Washington's first four games. Washington placed Robinson (lower body) on the reserve/non-football injury list Thursday.

The timing of Robinson's placement on the NFI list rules him out for the first four weeks of the 2022 season. Optimism regarding recovery
Coach Ron Rivera indicated Monday that doctors are optimistic regarding the recovery of Robinson, who was a shooting victim in an attempted robbery in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports. In an Instagram post Monday, Robinson relayed that his "surgery went well."
Analysis: Per Keim, Commanders team officials are slated to talk to doctors later Monday to get a further update on the status of the rookie running back, who sustained wounds to his lower extremities Sunday. At that time, the team plans to make a decision on whether to place Robinson on the non-football injury list. If so, he would miss at least the first four games of the upcoming season.

Victim of shooting
Robinson is in stable condition Sunday after he was a shooting victim in an attempted robbery in Washington, D.C., Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Robinson was shot a number of times, including at least twice in the lower-body area. Fortunately for the rookie running back, the resulting injuries aren't life-threatening. Robinson put together a strong training camp and preseason, pushing presumed No. 1 RB Antonio Gibson for early-down and short-yardage work. However, the 2022 third-round pick will now focus on recovering from Sunday's incident.

Starts over Gibson
Robinson got the start at running back in Saturday's 24-14 preseason loss to the Chiefs and rushed eight times for 31 yards.
Analysis: Robinson started the game and played most of the first three drives, while Antonio Gibson mixed in occasionally over that span. The rookie third-round pick wasn't targeted in the passing game, so he'll likely sit in favor of Gibson and J.D. McKissic in passing situations, but Robinson looks like the favorite to get most of the early-down rushing work for Washington, including the all-important goal-line touches.

Makes most of opportunity
Robinson gained 26 yards on six carries and a touchdown in Saturday's 23-21 preseason loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: Robinson recorded his first carry on the team's third offensive possession. Robinson could continue to earn more of a role in the offense, particularly after Antonio Gibson fumbled deep in Washington's own territory Saturday.

Getting first-team reps
Robinson likely will get short-yardage carries this season, and he's already getting extra work in practice while Antonio Gibson recovers from a hamstring injury, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Standig suggests the Commanders want Gibson to get more touches in space and fewer between the tackles, perhaps relying on his excellent athleticism more and his questionable vision less. Robinson could take some of that work off Gibson's plate, with the rookie third-round pick potentially forming a timeshare with J.D.
