Past cramping from Sunday
Addison (leg) wasn't listed on the Vikings' initial Week 12 injury report posted Wednesday.
Analysis: Addison suffered from cramps in one of his legs during the fourth quarter this past Sunday at Tennessee, which forced him to miss the rest of the contest. He thus finished the Week 11 win with three catches (on eight targets) for 61 yards and one touchdown on a 60 percent snap share. With the issue now in the rear-view mirror, Addison is good to go ahead of Sunday's game at Chicago.

Fails to return due to leg cramping
Addison was unable to return to Sunday's 23-13 win over the Titans after he experienced cramping in one of his legs during the fourth quarter of the contest, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Due in part to the cramping issue, Addison played only 44 of the Vikings' 73 offensive snaps, with his 60 percent share marking his second-lowest rate of the season. The wideout still came through with three catches for 61 yards and a touchdown on eight targets before exiting the game. Addison should be ready to go for next Sunday's contest in Chicago, where he'll likely see his snap share rise back to its typical 80-to-95 percent range.

Dealing with cramps
Addison is questionable to return to Sunday's game at Tennessee due to cramps, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Prior to his exit early in the fourth quarter, Addison hauled in three of eight targets for 61 yards and one touchdown. Jalen Nailor, Trent Sherfield and Brandon Powell are the healthy wide receivers aside from premier option Justin Jefferson with Addison sidelined.

Held quiet in win
Addison recorded two receptions on five targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 12-7 win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Addison continues to struggle to command targets, as he's now surpassed five targets in only one of seven games this season. That's led to disappointing results that continued Sunday, as he was targeted deep down the field on a few occasions but managed to translate that into receptions of only 21 and four yards. Addison has more than 50 receiving yards in just two contests on the campaign, making him an unreliable fantasy option that is primarily dependent on big plays to produce.

Nabs TD on SNF
Addison corralled all five targets for 42 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-13 win over the Colts. He added one rushing attempt for nine yards.
Analysis: The 22-year-old scored a touchdown for the first time since Week 4, helping bolster what has been a disappointing first half of the season. Addison's low-end production limits his fantasy value to deeper formats for next Sunday's tilt against Jacksonville.

Another disappointing effort
Addison brought in two of three targets for 22 yards in the Vikings' 30-20 loss to the Rams on Thursday night.
Analysis: Addison was once again a bit player in the air attack, with the likes of Aaron Jones, Josh Oliver and Jalen Nailor all recording the same amount of receptions as the second-year wideout. Addison hasn't topped three receptions or 72 yards in any game this season, and he's now logged four or fewer targets in four of five contests. Addison's next opportunity to revert to his 2023 production comes in a favorable Week 9 home matchup against the Colts on Sunday night, Nov. 3.

Three grabs in loss
Addison brought in three of four targets for 66 yards in the Vikings' 31-29 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
Analysis: Addison was third or tied for that slotting in receptions, receiving yards and targets for the Vikings on the afternoon, but that resulted in relatively unremarkable production. The second-year wideout did manage a game-long 51-yard reception, and Addison's numbers were a marked improvement over his 36-yard tally in Week 5 against the Jets. Addison has exactly three catches in each of his first four games heading into a Week 8 road matchup against the Rams on Thursday night.

Struggles against Jets
Addison recorded three receptions on eight targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 23-17 win over the Jets.
Analysis: The short-term outcome wasn't positive for Addison, as he averaged an abysmal 4.5 yards per target. However, he became a more significant part of the offensive game plan by tallying a season-high eight targets. The Vikings will head into a Week 6 bye, but Addison should have a significant role in a pivotal Week 7 matchup in a divisional showdown with the Lions.

Pair of scores in return
Addison brought in three of four targets for 72 yards and a touchdown and recorded a seven-yard score on his only rush attempt in the Vikings' 31-29 win over the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: Making his return from a two-game absence due to an ankle injury, Addison wasted no time making an impact with a 29-yard touchdown grab to cap off the opening possession of the contest. He then stung the Packers defense on the ground, notching a seven-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. The second-year wideout, who played only 24 snaps in the season-opening victory over the Giants before suffering his injury, appears to be all the way back to full health heading into a Week 5…read more

Cleared for Week 4 return
Addison (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Green Bay, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Addison will be active for the first time since suffering an ankle sprain in the third quarter of a Week 1 win over the Giants. His return will either push Jalen Nailor out of the regular rotation or bump Nailor down to the No. 3 role, with the latter scenario entailing a demotion for Brandon Powell. Either way, Minnesota's offense figures to be highly concentrated toward Addison, Justin Jefferson and RB Aaron Jones.

Stays limited Thursday
Addison (ankle) was limited at Thursday's practice.
Analysis: The Vikings held a walkthrough Wednesday, so Addison's listing of limited on the ensuing injury report was an estimate. With an appearance at an actual practice under his belt one day later, he now appears to be closing in on a return. In the end, Friday's report will unveil whether he goes into the weekend with a designation for Sunday's contest at Green Bay or cleared for his first game action since Week 1, when he initially sustained a right ankle sprain. Officially limited Wednesday
Addison (ankle) was listed as limited participant Wednesday on the Vikings' first Week 4 injury report.
Analysis: Head coach Kevin O'Connell told Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com that Addison was a candidate to take part in Wednesday's walkthrough, which has come to pass. Addison is working his way back from a sprained right ankle that he suffered Week 1, and his return to the practice field is the first step as the team ramps up for Sunday's visit to Green Bay. Whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for that contest will be revealed when Minnesota posts its final report of Week 4 on Friday.

To participate in walkthrough
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said he expects Addison (ankle) to be listed as at least a partial participant in Wednesday's walk-through practice, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: According to Seifert, O'Connell is hopeful that Addison will put an end to his two-game absence in this Sunday's game against the Packers. The second-year wideout is expected to be listed as a limited participant upon the release of Wednesday's injury report, which would represent an upgrade after he failed to practice in any capacity since suffering the injury in the Week 1 win over the Giants. Optimism regarding Week 4 status
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that he's "optimistic" Addison (ankle) will be available to play Sunday in Green Bay, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: While O'Connell's comments offer some encouragement, Addison's practice activity during the upcoming week will provide a clearer signal whether or not the receiver has a chance of suiting up against the Packers. Addison missed both of the Vikings' last two games after spraining his right ankle in the season-opening win over the Giants, and he has yet to take any practice reps since sustaining the injury.

Out for Week 3
Addison (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Houston, Dane Mizutani of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Addison did some work on a side field this week, but he hasn't actually practiced since suffering an ankle sprain Week 1 against the Giants. His absence for a second straight game leaves Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell as the top wide receivers alongside Justin Jefferson, who has avoided an injury designation after hurting his quadriceps last week. Remains sidelined Friday
Addison (ankle) wasn't spotted at practice Friday, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Addison has yet to take the practice field since injuring his ankle in Minnesota's regular-season opener, so he presumably will be ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans once the Vikings publish their injury report Friday, though it will be worth checking back for official word on the second-year wide receiver's status. Teammate Justin Jefferson (quadriceps) has been practicing this week, and Jalen Nailor would be in line to maintain an expanded role if Addison is indeed ruled out.

Official DNP on Thursday
Addison (ankle) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Addison has yet to practice since hurting his right ankle Week 1, likely meaning he'll have to log at least a limited session Friday to give him a chance to return to action Sunday versus the Texans. Meanwhile, fellow wide receiver Justin Jefferson (quadriceps) was limited for a second day in a row, at least providing him more legitimate odds to be active Week 3. Friday's injury report should be telling for the statuses of both Addison and Jefferson heading into the weekend.

Missing out on another practice
Addison (ankle) didn't participate in the portion of Thursday's practice that was available to the media, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Addison was present for the session, though he was merely conducting rehab on a side field. With Addison set to be listed as a non-participant in practice for the second day in a row, he'll likely need to practice with his healthy teammates as at least a limited participant Friday to have a legitimate chance at playing Sunday against the Texans. Could return to action Week 3
Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that the team is hoping Addison (ankle) will be available Week 3 versus the Texans, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: O'Connell said the Vikings will need to see what type of work Addison can handle in practice this week, and that the team's priority remains his long-term health, but it looks like there's a chance the second-year wideout could be back in action as early as Sunday. Not looking good for Week 2
Addison (ankle) isn't practicing Friday and thus seems unlikely to play Sunday against the 49ers, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Addison sprained his left ankle in August but made it back for Week 1, only to sprain his right ankle in a win over the Giants. He hasn't practiced at all this week, which likely leaves Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell to join Justin Jefferson in three-wide formations come Sunday.

Missing from Thursday's practice
Addison (ankle) wasn't spotted on the field at Thursday's practice, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: With Addison set to miss a second consecutive practice, he'll likely need to get back on the field Friday as at least a limited participant to have a realistic chance at playing in Sunday's game against the 49ers. Should Addison's right ankle injury keep him inactive Sunday, Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell would likely be featured more prominently in three-receiver sets alongside No. 1 option Justin Jefferson.

O'Connell told Dane Mizutani of the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Monday that he was "hopeful" Addison will be able to play Sunday against the 49ers, but the receiver may have to mix into drills Thursday and/or Friday in order for the Vikings to feel comfortable making him active. Ankle injury not thought to be serious
Addison will undergo tests on his injured right ankle Monday, but the issue isn't thought to be a serious one, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Addison tended to a left high-ankle sprain last month that kept him off the practice field until Sept. 2, and he eventually avoided a designation for the Vikings' Week 1 road matchup with the Giants. However, he exited Sunday's eventual win in the third quarter and didn't return due to an injury to his other ankle. If Rapoport's report proves to be true, Addison may miss little, if any, time, but the aforementioned testing ultimately will determine if an absence is possible.

Injures right ankle Sunday
Coach Kevin O'Connell relayed after Sunday's win over the Giants that Addison injured his right ankle in Week 1, rather than his left one, which he hurt last month, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Per Seifert, Addison will be evaluated again once the team returns to Minnesota. Meanwhile, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune adds that O'Connell said that he hoped the wideout's current ankle issue is a short-term situation. Either way, Addison's status is worth tracking ahead of next Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Addison (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at the Giants.
Analysis: Addison and fellow wideout Jalen Nailor (ankle) both upgraded to full practice participation Friday after being limited the previous two days. Addison (ankle) says he will play Sunday at the Giants even though he was limited in practice Thursday. "Physically, I'm feeling great," Addison told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I'm going to be 100 percent on Sunday and y'all are going to see."
Analysis: Addison revealed he suffered a high ankle sprain in practice Aug. 14, which is a little worrisome since the injury may have been worse than first thought. Spoke about July arrest
Addison, who was arrested July 12 in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence, said Wednesday that he is ready to face any discipline. "Whatever's out there for me," he said, "whatever comes with it, I'll own up to everything. I feel like anything that comes my way is meant to happen or is deserved," he told ESPN. However, no charges in the incident have been filed as of last week.
Analysis: Last summer, Addison pled guilty to a misdemeanor speeding charge after being cited for driving 140 miles per hour in Minnesota. The pattern of behavior could lead the NFL to discipline Addison, but the timing of any possible suspension remains in doubt. The NFL will likely let the legal process play out, which could stretch into the regular season. Addison's remarks, however, make it seem like he anticipates some kind of punishment from either the NFL or the legal system.

Analysis: O'Connell said the wideout is stronger than he was as a rookie, and Addison mentioned that he's working to improve his technique on releases. Addison seems to have enjoyed a healthy offseason program, whereas last year he missed spring practices with an unspecified injury after the Vikings drafted him 23rd overall. He was on pace for 1,000 yards before Week 16, when an ankle sprain slowed him down, and he scored five touchdowns of at least 37 yards (plus a pair of 20-yarders) en route to a…read more

Hits paydirt in season finale
Addison caught four of eight targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Lions.
Analysis: Addison and fellow wideout Justin Jefferson both played 93 percent of the Vikings' offensive snaps Sunday and dominated the overall target share among Minnesota pass catchers. Throughout his rookie season, Addison showed that he can be a key playmaker in the Minnesota passing attack alongside Jefferson and tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee) heading into 2024. While playing in all 17 games in 2023, Addison finished with 70 receptions for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Suits up, makes three grabs
Addison (ankle) had three receptions on five targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 33-10 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Addison's status for Sunday Night Football was in question earlier in the week when the wideout left last week's loss to the Lions with an ankle injury. The 21-year-old was able to suit up after a couple of limited practice sessions and escaped the blowout loss no worse for wear. Addison will get another week to inch closer to full health ahead of the rematch with Detroit in Week 18.

Active in Week 17
Addison (ankle) is listed as active Sunday versus the Packers, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports.
Analysis: Addison departed the Vikings' Week 16 loss to the Lions with a sprained ankle and wasn't able to return to action. He then opened Week 17 prep with no activity before capping it with back-to-back limited sessions and entering the weekend with a questionable designation. Early Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Addison was in line to play Sunday, and Minnesota has confirmed as much by not including him among its inactives. On track to play Sunday
Addison (ankle) remains listed as questionable but will be available to play Sunday against the Packers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Though Rapoport previously reported that Addison was viewed as week-to-week after the wideout sustained an ankle sprain in the Vikings' 30-24 loss to the Lions last Sunday, the rookie ended up making swifter progress in his recovery than anticipated. After sitting out Wednesday's walk-through, Addison concluded Week 17 prep with a pair of limited practices to create more optimism that he would be available for Sunday. Listed as questionable
Addison (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: While unable to rejoin Sunday's loss to Detroit following his ankle injury in the second quarter, Addison returned to practice Thursday as a limited participant and now heads into the weekend looking truly questionable after another limited practice Friday. A game-time call would be tricky for a lot of fantasy managers, as the Vikings and Packers are the final matchup of the week with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday. Addison (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.
Analysis: After being held out of Wednesday's walkthrough, Addison was able to handle some on-field work one day later as he looks to miss no game action due to the ankle sprain that he suffered this past Sunday against the Lions. Head coach Kevin O'Connell called Addison "day-to-day" Tuesday, per Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com, but it remains to be seen if the rookie first-round pick will sidestep a designation ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Packers. No activity at walkthrough
Addison (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimate.
Analysis: The Vikings held a walkthrough instead of an actual practice to begin Week 17 prep, but Addison didn't mix into any on-field work as he tends to the ankle sprain that he suffered during this past Sunday's loss to the Lions. On Tuesday, head coach Kevin O'Connell called Addison "day-to-day," per Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com, so the rookie wide receiver seemingly has a chance to suit up Sunday against the Packers. Deemed day-to-day by head coach
Head coach Kevin O'Connell classified Addison (ankle) as day-to-day Tuesday and wasn't willing to rule the receiver out for Sunday's game against the Packers, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: O'Connell didn't go into many details regarding the severity of the ankle sprain that forced Addison out of this past Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Lions, but the "day-to-day" label paints a rosier picture of the rookie wideout's health after Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Monday that he was being considered week-to-week. Viewed as week-to-week
Addison is considered week-to-week due to the ankle sprain he sustained during Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Lions, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Per Rapoport, added context regarding Addison's status should arrive once the wideout undergoes further tests Monday. Prior to his exit from Sunday's contest, the wideout played 21 of 55 snaps on offense, catching one of his four targets for two yards. If Addison is forced to miss this weekend's contest against the Packers, both K.J. Osborn and Brandon Powell would be in store for expanded reps behind No. 1 wideout Justin Jefferson.

Addison exited Sunday's game against the Lions due to an ankle injury, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Addison visited the sideline tent after quarterback Nick Mullens' second interception of the game, when the rookie was the intended receiver. Huge game Saturday
Addison caught six passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns on six targets in the 27-24 overtime loss to the Bengals on Saturday.
Analysis: It was an improbable resurgence from Addison, as the rookie seemed likely to fall to the margins, as Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson were expected to claim the majority of Vikings' targets. Addison's talent was obvious early in his rookie year, but he had predictably struggled somewhat after the season-ending injury to Kirk Cousins. Addison caught two of three targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Justin Jefferson (chest) left the game in the second quarter and didn't return, but Addison didn't see a significant increase in his production afterward -- in fact, the two wideouts finished the game with identical numbers. Modest production with six catches
Addison secured six of 10 targets for 39 yards in the Vikings' 12-10 loss to the Bears on Monday.
Analysis: Addison led the Vikings in receptions and targets but finished third in receiving yards. Outside of his 14-yard grab, Addison averaged only 5.0 yards per reception, leading to his lowest tally in that category since his first encounter with the Bears back in Week 6. Justin Jefferson (hamstring) should have a good chance of returning to action for Minnesota's Week 14 road matchup against the Raiders following a Week 13 bye, so Addison could well see a downturn in targets beginning with that game.

Limited to three catches in loss
Addison secured three of six targets for 44 yards in the Vikings' 21-20 loss to the Broncos on Sunday night.
Analysis: Addison finished third in receiving yards despite checking in second in targets for the Vikings on the night, as he took a rare back seat to multiple pass catchers in a game that was played with Justin Jefferson (hamstring) still unavailable. Addison's catch and yardage tallies were his lowest over the last five games, and with Jefferson potentially set to return for a Week 12 Monday night clash against the Bears on Nov. 27, Addison could soon officially slot back into a No. 2 role.

Held back by game script
Addison recorded four receptions on seven targets for 69 yards in Sunday's 27-19 win over the Saints.
Analysis: The entirety of Addison's production came in the first half, as the Vikings jumped out to a 24-3 lead and were conservative in the final two quarters. While he was overshadowed by T.J. Hockenson, Addison earned at least seven targets and topped 50 yards for the fourth consecutive game. He's retained volume in two games without Kirk Cousins (Achilles), but the impending return of Justin Jefferson (hamstring) will change the dynamic of the offense.

Analysis: The rookie wideout caught a 20-yard strike from Kirk Cousins (Achilles) in the third quarter for the Vikings' final points of the afternoon, extending his TD streak to four games and giving Addison seven touchdowns in his first eight NFL games. Nevertheless, Addison finished tied with K.J. Analysis: Addison's practice reps were managed Wednesday and Thursday, but his full session Friday clears the way for him to enter the Vikings' Week 6 matchup with no restrictions. The rookie first-round pick had already played north of 70 percent of the snaps on offense in three of the team's first five games, but his playing time and target volume should tick up further Sunday after star wideout Justin Jefferson (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve earlier this week. Bounces back with strong showing
Addison caught six of nine targets for 64 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-20 loss to Kansas City.
Analysis: After failing to catch a pass last week against the Panthers, Addison bounced back and led the Vikings in receptions and yardage while grabbing his third TD in five NFL games on a five-yard toss from Kirk Cousins late in the second quarter. The rookie wideout emerged as Cousins' most reliable option in the fourth quarter while Justin Jefferson was sidelined with a hamstring injury, and if Jefferson isn't ready to return in Week 6 against the Bears, Addison could be in line for a big performance.

Addison was not targeted in Sunday's 21-13 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Addison's goose egg came while quarterback Kirk Cousins managed just 139 passing yards and threw two interceptions, including one that was returned 99 yards for a touchdown. Besides star wideout Justin Jefferson, no Minnesota player caught more than two passes, so Addison wasn't alone in his Week 4 struggles. With a matchup against the high-powered Chiefs next Sunday, Addison could be featured more in order for the Vikings to keep pace.

Analysis: Addison had only one target and no receptions in the first half despite Kirk Cousins taking to the air 20 times. That changed in the second half, as he took on an expanded role while working primarily in short areas of the field. Analysis: The rookie first-round pick debuted as Minnesota's No. 3 receiver in a 20-17 loss to Tampa Bay, playing 56 percent of snaps while Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn both were above 90 percent. The workload was enough for Addison to have a productive day, as he ran 35 routes and caught four of six targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. Analysis: It's a step forward after coach Kevin O'Connell revealed last Wednesday that Addison had entered concussion protocol. The rookie is still in the protocol but at least has made enough progress to participate in a light practice. One catch in NFL debut
Addison caught one of three targets for 22 yards in Thursday's 24-13 preseason loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: Addison nearly secured a nice gain with a toe drag along the sideline in the first quarter, but the play was ruled out of bounds. His first NFL catch came on the first play of the second quarter and resulted in a 22-yard gain. Despite this modest stat line in his NFL debut, the 2023 first-round pick projects to play a prominent role in his rookie season. Addison will play in Thursday's preseason contest at Seattle, head coach Kevin O'Connell told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Analysis: It's not clear how many snaps he'll play, but the 2023 first-rounder will get his first game action as a professional. K.J. Osborn is listed as the No. 2 wide receiver ahead of Addison on Minnesota's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason. However, Addison has looked sharp in camp so far with good chemistry with quarterback Kirk Cousins, so he's still the favorite to emerge as the team's No. 2 wide receiver with a significant role.

Not starter on preseason depth chart
K.J. Osborn is listed as the No. 2 wide receiver ahead of Addison on Minnesota's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason. Osborn may get more snaps this season as the team's "F" receiver as he'll frequently be used as a blocker, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Osborn may also be listed ahead of Addison to begin the preseason as the team may give deference to the veteran. It's also possible Osborn plays more snaps on offense this year, but Addison gets more targets. Addison has looked sharp in camp so far with good chemistry with quarterback Kirk Cousins, so we wouldn't be too worried about this early preseason listing. Still, Addison's ability to be used in run blocking could be something to watch to ensure he gets more playing time.

Analysis: The Vikings' first-round pick at No. 23 overall, Addison was injured during the rookie minicamp earlier this month and is being held out of OTAs for "precautionary reasons," according to coach Kevin O'Connell, who added that the issue is "nothing serious at all." Addison was at least in attendance Tuesday but only as a spectator. Perhaps he'll be cleared for mandatory minicamp next month.
