Held without a catch
Whittington failed to secure his only target during Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: Sunday's game against Carolina marked the third time in the last five games that Whittington was held without a catch, a concerning trend made more troubling by a three-catch, 82-yard performance by Xavier Smith. Whittington actually played the least of the Rams' backup wide receiver corps, with both Smith and Konata Mumpfield logging 20 snaps to Whittington's 18. Tutu Atwell (hamstring) is trending towards a return for the Week 14 contest against the Cardinals after logging three full…read more

Ties season high for catches
Whittington secured all three targets for 17 yards during Sunday's 34-7 victory against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: It was another monster game for Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, who combined for 19 targets and a 12-159-2 receiving line. This left little for the other two wideouts who took the field, as, along with Whittington's three targets, Konata Mumpfield mustered just two targets of his own. Whittington's usage crept up again for the second consecutive week, with the second-year pro out on the field for 34 snaps on offense. Tutu Atwell (hamstring) and Xavier Smith (concussion) could both return for the…read more

Little impact in win
Whittington secured his only target for nine yards and returned two kicks for 48 yards during Sunday's 21-19 victory against the Seahawks.
Analysis: The second-year pro saw the field often with Tutu Atwell (hamstring) still on IR and Xavier Smith (concussion) leaving the contest in the first half. The additional playing time didn't amount to anything significant on the stat sheet, although his lone catch was his first since Week 7. With the Buccaneers up next in Week 12, Whittington may be pressed into a bigger role if Smith is unable to clear the concussion protocol, as Atwell won't be available to return until the following week against…read more

Full participant Thursday
Whittington (back) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The kickoff returner and wide receiver was limited during Wednesday's session. Whittington played through the injury last Sunday against the 49ers, logging seven offensive snaps and 14 special-teams snaps. In 2025, he has 12 catches for 121 yards, along with 109 kickoff-return yards.

Limited Wednesday
Whittington (back) was limited in Wednesday's practice, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Whittington played through the back issue last Sunday against the 49ers, but he played just seven offensive snaps and appears to have fallen behind both Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield on the depth chart behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams (oblique).

Usage deteriorates again
Whittington didn't record a target during Sunday's 42-26 victory against the 49ers.
Analysis: Whittington was on the field for a season-low seven snaps on offense, which may have been partially due to a back injury that held him out of practice for part of the week. Fellow backups Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield played nearly the same amount of time as starters Puka Nacua and Davante Adams (oblique). With Nacua and Adams still dominating the attention of Matthew Stafford on Sunday while generating a combined 11-141-2 stat line, it's difficult to rely on any other receiver for the Rams…read more

Active Sunday
Whittington (back) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Analysis: After missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, Whittington logged a limited session Friday before being listed as questionable for Sunday's contest. With his Week 10 availability confirmed, Whittington will continue to work behind the Rams' clear-cut top WRs, Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. In that role, Whittington has recorded a 12/121/0 receiving line on 17 targets in eight games, a pace that keeps him off the fantasy radar in most formats.

Questionable to face 49ers
Whittington (back) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Nate Adkins of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Whittington is set to practice in a limited fashion Friday, which is a step in the right direction after he was unable to practice Wednesday or Thursday. Blake Corum may get a chance to return kickoffs if Whittington doesn't play Sunday, while Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith could see additional snaps at wide receiver.

Misses practice again
Whittington (back) did not participate in practice for the second day in a row Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: The kick returner and wide receiver will have one more chance to practice ahead of Sunday's matchup with the 49ers. Whittington has 12 catches for 121 yards and 109 kickoff-return yards on the year. If Whittington ultimately sits out Sunday, Blake Corum might be next in line to handle kickoff-return duties.

Misses practice Wednesday
Whittington (back) was a non-participant at practice Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Whittington popped up on the injury report with an apparent back injury to open the week. The wide receiver failed to garner a target in the team's 34-10 win over the Saints in Week 9, potentially getting hurt during the game. He'll have two more chances to return to practice prior to Sunday's contest against the 49ers.

Uninvolved in victory
Whittington failed to record a target during Sunday's 34-10 victory against the Saints.
Analysis: Even with Puka Nacua (chest) missing a portion of the contest with injury and Tutu Atwell (hamstring) on IR, Whittington found himself blanked on the stat sheet for the first time since Week 1. Matthew Stafford once again had a monster game, with four more touchdowns and 281 yards through the air, so the volume for the receiving corps is there. If Nacua misses any time with his rib injury, Whittington would be a primary beneficiary, although he has yet to eclipse 42 yards receiving in a game…read more

Makes pair of catches
Whittington secured two of four targets for nine yards during Sunday's 35-7 victory against the Jaguars in London.
Analysis: The second-year pro actually led all Rams wideouts in snaps played in the London contest, taking the field for 41 out of 70 snaps. Whittington wasn't able to do much with that usage, however, as Davante Adams, Terrance Ferguson and Konata Mumpfield were the targets of Matthew Stafford's five passing touchdowns on the day, with Adams garnering three by himself. Season-high three catches
Whittington secured three of four targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 17-3 victory against the Ravens.
Analysis: In the wake of Puka Nacua (ankle) missing a considerable portion of the contest due to an ankle sprain, it was the second-year pro Whittington who saw the biggest uptick in play time, leading all Rams wide receivers with 49 snaps on offense. The expanded stint on the field led to only a small uptick in Whittington's stat line, although he did set season highs in catches and targets. Makes back-to-back catches
Whittington secured two of three targets for 33 yards during Thursday's 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: The second-year wideout chained together catches of 22 and 11 yards in the second quarter, which led to a Kyren Williams 14-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford. Whittington would see one final target head his way at the start of the second half before taking a back seat to Tutu Atwell, who made two huge catches of 34 and 38 yards in the third quarter and overtime, respectively. Sees boost in playing time
Whittington secured his only target for seven yards and returned two kicks for 49 yards during Sunday's 27-20 victory against the Colts.
Analysis: There was a noticeable jump in snap counts for the second-year wideout, as Whittington was on the field for 60 snaps on offense, just two less than Puka Nacua and one less than Davante Adams. Despite the boost in usage, it didn't translate to fantasy success with just a single catch on the day. Does little with four touches
Whittington secured two of three targets for seven yards and rushed twice for seven yards during Sunday's 33-26 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Once again operating as the tertiary option at wideout, Whittington found little room to run when presented with opportunities and was unable to replicate the huge 40-yard catch from last week against the Titans. On the field for exactly half of the Rams' snaps on offense, Whittington seems to have secured his hold as the No. 3 wideout for the Rams, a role that is unlikely to hold much fantasy appeal given the dominance Puka Nacua and Davante Adams have in target share; 23 of Matthew Stafford's…read more

Makes big grab late
Whittington secured both of his targets for 42 yards during Sunday's 33-19 win against the Titans.
Analysis: With the Rams looking for insurance midway through the fourth quarter, Whittington managed to find a seam and grab a dart from Matthew Stafford for a 40-yard reception, which led to a Blake Corum rushing touchdown a few plays later. Whittington has seemingly pushed past Tutu Atwell on the depth chart, but Puka Nacua and Davante Adams will likely command the majority of Stafford's attention barring an injury. Contributes on special teams
Whittington rushed once for five yards and returned two kicks for 60 yards during Sunday's 14-9 win against the Texans.
Analysis: The second-year wideout was a victim of bad luck in his first game of the season; he had a lengthy 74-yard kick return called back on a holding penalty and a 34-yard reception called back on another holding penalty. Whittington was on the field for half of the Rams' snaps on offense, a noticeable bump over his usage in the second half of his rookie campaign and slightly more than Tutu Atwell. Battling for No. 3 role
Whittington has made a strong impression at camp so far and will continue battling Tutu Atwell for the No. 3 spot at wide receiver, according to Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire.
Analysis: Whittington was also said to be a standout of training camp last year -- after the Rams drafted him in the sixth round -- and as a rookie he had 62 or more receiving yards in each of the three games in which he took 30-plus snaps. He barely played once Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp, Demarcus Robinson and Atwell all were healthy, but Whittington could play more in 2025 after the Rams swapped out Kupp and Robinson for Davante Adams. Earns 11 snaps on offense
Whittington secured his only target for 12 yards during Sunday's 28-22 divisional round loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Notably, Whittington easily outpaced fellow backup Tutu Atwell, who only recorded two snaps on offense, in playing time. The sixth-round rookie carved out a small role on offense in the 2024 campaign, putting up a 22-293-0 receiving line while tacking on a pair of rushing attempts for 12 yards. Leading receiver in loss
Whittington caught three of four targets for 86 yards while rushing twice for 12 yards in Sunday's 30-25 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: Whittington did his best Puka Nacua (rest) impression while filling in for the star wideout by recording 98 combined yards of offense. The sixth-round rookie only saw his role increase after head coach Sean McVay decided to rest all of his key offensive players in the final game of the regular season. Whittington figures to revert to a reserve/special teams role when the Rams host the Vikings in the wild-card round of the playoffs next Monday.

Cleared to play Sunday
Whittington (ankle) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Analysis: Whittington was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday but logged a full session Friday and is good to go for Sunday's regular-season finale. With Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp unlikely to play and resting up for the playoffs next weekend, Whittington should see an elevated offensive role alongside fellow WRs Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Tyler Johnson. They will be catching passes from Jimmy Garoppolo.

Remains uninvolved on offense
Whittington went without a target while playing 10 of the Rams' 65 snaps on offense in Thursday's 12-6 win over the 49ers. He also returned two kickoffs for 51 yards.
Analysis: Since making waves after recording 13 receptions for 151 yards on 18 targets between Weeks 4 and 5, Whittington has largely been an afterthought on offense. Shortly after Whittington's pair of breakout games, the Rams returned Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua from injuries, and the rookie's opportunities have been limited as a result. Whittington hasn't even drawn a target over his last seven outings while playing just 44 total snaps on offense.

Analysis: Whittington popped up on the Rams' injury report with a shoulder issue Monday and was also listed as a non-participant for Tuesday's walk-through session. However, he logged a limited practice Wednesday and has a chance of suiting up Thursday. Gets light usage as returner
Whittington returned one kick for 24 yards and failed to record a target during Sunday's 28-22 win against the Patriots.
Analysis: Whittington's role since the return of Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp has been non-existent, and he hasn't managed a catch since Week 5. The sixth-round rookie's role seems to be focused on special teams at the moment (16 snaps on special teams versus five snaps on offense Sunday), and he'll continue to compete with Tutu Atwell, Tyler Johnson and Xavier Smith for a meager amount of snaps as the backups to Nacua, Kupp and Demarcus Robinson.

This time around, he doesn't have any restrictions, indicating that he's past the health concern. Analysis: With back-to-back capped sessions under his belt this week, Whittington already has managed more work than he did a week ago before he sat out last Thursday's win against the Vikings. Meanwhile, Puka Nacua aggravated his right knee injury during this Thursday's session, which could set the stage for Whittington to regain some sway in the Rams offense if he's able to suit up Sunday in Seattle and Nacua again is forced to miss time. He'll thus aim to string together multiple practice appearances this week as the Rams prep for Sunday's visit to Seattle. The rookie sixth-round pick now has upped his catches, receiving yards and targets in three successive weeks, benefitting from the absences of Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (IR, knee). With Kupp uncertain to return for a Week 5 home matchup against the Packers next Sunday, Whittington could continue enjoying an expanded role.

Makes three catches
Whittington caught all three of his targets for 28 yards during Sunday's 27-24 victory against San Francisco.
Analysis: Whittington's snap share actually decreased compared to Week 2, with the sixth-round rookie only on the field for 22 snaps on offense. The former Texas Longhorn managed to be productive with his three targets, including a 15-yard catch to open the second half. With Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Tyler Johnson operating as the top three wideouts with Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle) out, Whittington may struggle to earn enough volume to stay fantasy relevant. A Week 4 showdown…read more

Prepping for key role
Whittington is preparing for a larger role with Puka Nacua (knee) on injured reserve and Cooper Kupp (ankle) likely out for multiple weeks, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Analysis: Whittington barely played Week 1 and didn't get much playing time in the first half of Sunday's 41-10 loss at Arizona, but he then played every snap on offense in the second half, finishing with two catches for 22 yards on two targets. He seems to be ahead of Tutu Atwell in the pecking order and may thus join Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson as full-time players this Sunday against the 49ers. While expectations for the rookie sixth-round pick should be modest for now, he drew considerable…read more

Sees role expand
Whittington secured both of his targets for 22 yards during Sunday's 41-10 loss to the Cardinals.
Analysis: A week removed from being on the field for just two snaps on offense, the sixth-round rookie out of Texas was on the field for 26 against Arizona. Whittington managed to turn a short pass from Matthew Stafford into a big 22-yard gain in the third quarter and was on the field for significantly more plays than fellow backup Tutu Atwell, who saw just 10 snaps on offense. With Cooper Kupp (ankle) possibly missing time and Puka Nacua (knee) still on IR, Whittington may get an opportunity to shine…read more

May benefit from Nacua injury
Whittington could see an expanded role after the Rams placed Puka Nacua (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: A rookie sixth-round pick, Whittington was the subject of considerable hype this summer but played only two snaps on offense in a 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions in Week 1. Whittington at least made himself noticeable with a one-yard touchdown run wiped out by a penalty, a 20-yard kickoff return and a tackle on special teams. The door has now been cracked open for Whittington to take on a more substantial role on offense with Nacua out for at least four games. He may still be fourth in line…read more

Leads team in receiving yardage
Whittington secured five of eight targets for 52 yards during Saturday's 13-9 victory against the Chargers.
Analysis: Despite playing in just 36 of the Rams' 63 snaps on offense, Whittington led the team in receiving yards and was tied with Xavier Smith (who played 59 snaps) for targets and receptions. The rookie out of Texas has been solid through two preseason games with an 11-126-0 line over 82 snaps on offense. Head coach Sean McVay generally keeps his starters on the bench through the preseason, but Whittington may simply be on the field to get some valuable reps in before his rookie campaign begins.…read more

Shines in preseason opener
Whittington caught six of nine targets for 74 yards in Sunday's 13-12 preseason win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: The 2024 sixth-round pick led the Rams in catches, targets and receiving yards, including a 30-yard gain on the team's opening drive, but that performance came during a game in which Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua (knee), Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell were all sitting out. Whittington has been making a strong impression at training camp and is on course to claim a spot on the 53-man roster, but he's still unlikely to see much action early in the regular season.

Impressing teammates
Whittington took some first-team reps last week, with teammate Cooper Kupp noting that the rookie is "pretty special" and "so impressive," Cameron DeSilva of Rams Wire reports.
Analysis: Whittington was a top recruit for Texas back in 2019 and doesn't lack for size (6-foot-1, 205 pounds) or strength (18 bench press reps), but he lasted until Round 6 of the 2024 Draft after being overshadowed by early draft picks in the Longhorns offense throughout his college career. He never drew more than 72 targets in a season, and a hamstring injury this spring prevented him from running a 40-yard dash, which meant he didn't have an opportunity to alleviate concerns about a lack of speed.…read more

Participating in OTAs
Whittington (hamstring) was spotted working out Tuesday during Rams' OTA session, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Whittington had been nursing a hamstring injury since early March, but he now seems to have moved past the issue. The 2024 sixth-round pick had an injury-riddled career at Texas, but he was still able to record 1,757 receiving yards and five touchdowns throughout his five years in college. Now that Whittington is healthy, he can compete for a depth spot in the Rams' wide receiver room this offseason.
