Takes step back
Ward completed 24 of 38 passes for 141 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 25-3 loss to the Jaguars. He added one rush for seven yards.
Analysis: Ward entered Sunday's game having strung together a few positive performances, but his momentum came to an end in the Titans' Week 13 loss. His longest completion of the day went for only 16 yards, and only five of his completions went for double-digit yards. That left him without a touchdown while averaging just 3.7 yards per attempt -- his lowest mark of the campaign. The lone positive to take from the performance was that Ward didn't turn the ball over, but it was an ugly showing overall.

Decent showing against Seattle
Ward completed 28 of 42 passes for 256 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Seahawks. He rushed the ball six times for 37 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: Ward turned in one of his more complete performances as a rookie, showcasing some playmaking ability while also limiting mistakes. He completed three passes of at least 20 yards -- all to different receivers -- and also threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Chimere Dike on Tennessee's final possession. Ward supplemented that with the first rushing score of his career, and he's now topped 30 rushing yards in consecutive games after failing to do so in his first nine contests. Finally, he avoided…read more

Mixed bag in Week 11 loss
Ward completed 24 of 37 passes for 194 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions while rushing three times for 33 yards in the Titans' 16-13 loss to the Texans on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Analysis: Ward was serviceable coming out of his first NFL bye week, and the fact he lost Calvin Ridley to a season-ending fibula injury and Chimere Dike to a chest contusion within Sunday's game certainly didn't help his cause. Additionally, Ward was navigating a talented and aggressive Texans defense that sacked him three times and consistently pressured him. The rookie first overall pick did connect with Van Jefferson for a four-yard game-tying touchdown at the 1:35 mark of the fourth quarter, but…read more

No turnovers in loss
Ward completed 12 of 21 passes for 145 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Chargers. He added two rushes for six yards.
Analysis: Ward continues to turn in mixed performances, and there were some positive takeaways in Sunday's loss despite his modest stat line. He completed three passes of at least 20 yards and also didn't turn the ball over for the first time this season. Despite those steps forward, Ward still isn't a strong fantasy option, as he has yet to tally multiple touchdowns in a game this season.

Mixed results in another loss
Ward completed 22 of 38 pass attempts for 259 yards, one touchdown and one interception while taking two carries for four yards in Sunday's 38-14 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Ward threw his fifth touchdown pass of the season Sunday, but he maintained a TD/INT below 1.0 after throwing the sixth pick of his rookie campaign. The first-overall pick has shown marginal improvements in the two games following the firing of head coach Brian Callahan, throwing for over 250 yards in both contests. Ward still hasn't had that breakout game to excite fantasy managers through eight weeks, making him a low-end option against the Rams in Week 9.

Encouraging performance in loss
Ward completed 25 of 34 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Patriots. He also lost a fumble.
Analysis: Ward turned in the most efficient game of his career, averaging 7.5 yards per attempt. He also showed rapport with fellow rookie Chimere Dike, connecting on a 38-yard score late in the first quarter on a deep ball to the left corner of the end zone -- one of his four completions of at least 15 yards. There were still plenty of problems with the performance, including a pair of turnovers and five sacks, highlighting Ward's inconsistency.

Trio of turnovers proves costly
Ward completed 26 of 38 pass attempts for 222 yards, one touchdown and one interception Sunday. He did not record a rushing attempt and lost two fumbles in the 20-10 loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: Ward had Tennessee's offense in shambles out of the gates Sunday, leading six first-half drives that resulted in four punts and two turnovers (both charged to Ward). The rookie signal-caller finally woke up in the fourth quarter, but a third and final turnover thwarted any plans for a comeback. Ward managed to end a scoreless drought lasting two weeks, but he still has more interceptions thrown (four) than touchdowns (three) through six starts. The Titans are looking like a work in progress in…read more

First win as pro
Ward completed 21 of 39 passes for 265 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 22-21 win over the Cardinals. He also had five rushes for minus-six yards.
Analysis: Ward had an abysmal performance for nearly the entire game, as he went only 5-for-16 for 58 yards through two quarters. He also threw an interception late in the fourth quarter that seemingly put an end to any comeback attempt for the Titans, only to have Dadrion Taylor-Demerson fumble the ball into the end zone for a touchdown for Tennessee. It wasn't all bad news for Ward, as he connected on deep passes of 47 and 38 yards with Calvin Ridley as key parts of the Titans' rally -- his longest…read more

Poor performances piling up
Ward completed 10 of 26 passes for 108 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Texans. He added two rushes for 22 yards.
Analysis: Ward continues to look overwhelmed during his rookie season, as he was unable to lead the Titans on a scoring drive while averaging an abysmal 4.2 yards per attempt in Sunday's blowout loss. He did manage multiple completions of at least 20 yards for the third consecutive game, but Ward has only two touchdowns with four turnovers across his first four games as a pro. It's too early to make any conclusions about Ward's ability as a pro, but it has not been a good start to his career.

Upgrades to full practice
Ward (ankle/calf) upgraded to a full practice Thursday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Ward was limited in Wednesday's session, but it appears as if it was more precautionary than anything else, and the rookie No. 1 overall pick is poised to be under center Sunday against the Texans. Ward will have a new play-caller in his ear after coach Brian Callahan gave up play-calling duties to QBs coach Bo Hardegree earlier this week.

Limited at practice Wednesday
Ward (ankle/calf) was limited at practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Ward was on the field for all 70 of the Titans' snaps on offense in the team's 41-20 loss to Colts in Week 3, so it's unclear if the QB came out of that contest banged-up or if his listed ankle/calf issues are a result of Wednesday's practice. In any case, the status of Ward -- whose backup is Brandon Allen -- is now worth tracking as Sunday's game against the Texans approaches.

Coach gives up play-calling duties
Titans coach Brian Callahan announced Tuesday he's handing off play-calling duties to QBs coach Bo Hardegree.
Analysis: Hardegree was hired as Callahan's QBs coach ahead of the 2024 season and has very limited experience calling offensive plays in the NFL, only doing it with the Raiders in 2023 after coach Josh McDaniels and OC Joe Lombardi were fired during the season. However, the Titans simply needed to make a change. Entering Week 4, Tennessee is 31st in yards per game, 32nd in touchdowns scored, 32nd in passing yards and 32nd in sacks allowed. There's simply nowhere to go but up for the Titans. Averaging a…read more

Struggles against Colts
Ward completed 23 of 38 passes for 219 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 41-20 loss to the Colts. He added three rushes for 12 yards.
Analysis: Ward had a particularly ugly first half, as his second attempted pass of the day was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. That was his only turnover of the day, but he also took four sacks and averaged only 5.8 yards per attempt. Ward did manage to lead two touchdown drives in the second half with the game already out of reach, primarily showing rapport with Chig Okonkwo and Elic Ayomanor -- the latter of whom caught an eight-yard touchdown. Ward has shown glimpses of potential in his last…read more

Throws first TD
Ward completed 19 of 33 passes for 175 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 33-19 loss to the Rams. He added four rushes for eight yards.
Analysis: Ward struggled with efficiency for the second consecutive week, averaging only 5.3 yards per attempt. However, he showed off his playmaking ability while connecting with Elic Ayomanor for his first pro touchdown after scrambling for several seconds before throwing across his body for a nine-yard score. Ward also completed three passes of more than 20 yards, two of which went to Calvin Ridley, which was also an improvement over Week 1. Tough pro debut
Ward completed 12 of 28 passes for 112 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Ward drew a tough assignment in his pro debut in a difficult road environment against a defense that is projected to be one of the best in the league. His stat line reflects that, as he managed only 4.0 yards per attempt while also taking six sacks. Ward was slightly off target on a few passes to Calvin Ridley that could have changed the trajectory of his performance, but the duo should gain increased chemistry as the season progresses.

Leads touchdown drive
Ward completed three of four passes for 36 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Friday's 23-13 preseason win over the Vikings.
Analysis: Ward led the offense for two drives, the first of which was a three-and-out. He turned things around on the second possession, which concluded with a rushing score, hitting Van Jefferson and Elic Ayomanor for long gains of 17 and 13 yards, respectively. While there was some inconsistency, Ward had an encouraging first preseason as a pro and will be under center in Week 1 of the regular season at Denver.

Set to play in preseason finale
Ward is expected to play in the Titans' preseason finale Friday versus the Vikings, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Ward and the rest of the starters are expected to participate for the third game in a row, according to head coach Brian Callahan. The quarterback has completed seven of 15 passes for 109 yards and no touchdowns over the first two preseason games, and he will likely be limited to just a few offensive possessions against Minnesota.

Plays three drives Friday
Ward completed two of seven pass attempts for 42 yards with no touchdowns, turnovers or rushing attempts in Friday's 23-20 preseason win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Ward wound up starting three offensive drives that all resulted in punts for Tennessee in Friday's exhibition. While the rookie's stat line was underwhelming, it is worth noting that he was without the services of top offensive weapons Calvin Ridley (rest) and Tony Pollard (rest). Fill-in WR Van Jefferson dropped a beautifully thrown deep ball from Ward in the first quarter that could have changed the context of his outing. It is unclear how many drives the Titans plan to have Ward play in the…read more

On track to play Friday
Coach Brian Callahan noted that Ward and the Titans starters are slated to play in Friday's preseason game against the Falcons, Nick Gray of the Nashville Tennessean reports.
Analysis: On that subject, Callahan revealed ahead of the team's joint practices with the Falcons that "everybody is going to play, similar to last week." In the team's preseason opener against the Buccaneers last Saturday, Ward worked for two series, a pattern that he could follow versus Atlanta before giving way to fellow QBs Brandon Allen and Trevor Siemian.

Leads two possessions
Ward completed five of eight passes for 67 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Saturday's 29-7 preseason loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Ward got his first experience as a starter in the NFL and led two drives. The Titans went three-and-out on the first possession, but he then led an 11-play, 65-yard touchdown drive, during which he showed strong rapport with Calvin Ridley -- the duo connected for gains of 27, 10 and 13 yards. It was a limited sample for Ward, but it was an encouraging debut as he prepares to start from Day 1 of the regular season.

Set to play Saturday
Titans coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that Ward and other starters will play in every preseason game, including a series or two this Saturday against Tampa Bay, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Callahan also said Ward has shown growth throughout training camp, adding that he feels good about the offense's trajectory. The No. 1 overall pick has long been locked in as a Week 1 starter, with not much competition behind him ever since Will Levis underwent season-ending surgery in July.

Takes first-team reps, as expected
Ward took all of the first-team QB reps during Wednesday's opening training camp practice, Turron Davenport of ESPN reports.
Analysis: While the Titans haven't officially declared Ward the starter, Davenport indicates that the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is firmly in line to claim the job after the team announced Monday that Will Levis, who is now on IR, will have season-ending surgery on his right shoulder next week. Currently in the mix to back up Ward this coming season are free-agent acquisitions Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle.

Set to take first-team reps
Ward's teammate, Will Levis, will undergo surgery on his right throwing shoulder next Tuesday and will miss the entire 2025 season, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: With Levis -- who logged 21 starts for the Titans over the last two regular seasons -- no longer in the mix to compete with Ward, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com notes that the No. 1 overall choice in the 2025 NFL Draft is slated to take the team's first-team QB reps in training camp and likely will be backed up by Brandon Allen, with Tim Boyle also on hand. Ward thus appears destined to draw the Week 1 start for Tennessee while helming a passing attack that's headlined by top WR Calvin Ridley and…read more

Splitting reps evenly with Levis
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Tuesday that Ward and Will Levis have split practice reps evenly throughout Phase 2 of the team's offseason activities, Turron Davenport of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Callahan said Tennessee's quarterback reps "will probably change a little when when we get to the next phase of OTAs and there's some 7-on-7 [drills]," while also noting that Ward's selection at No. 1 overall and Levis' status as an incumbent starter haven't been the cause of any conflict at practice. Some amount of competition with Levis figures to be beneficial for Ward, who is still in the early stages of acclimating to a new offense and building chemistry with Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett,…read more
