Targeted once in win
Noel did not catch his lone target and amassed 106 return yards on two punts and three kickoffs in Sunday's 20-16 win over Indianapolis in Week 13.
Analysis: This has been the pattern for three consecutive games, as Noel barely makes a dent on offense but is heavily involved on special teams. The silver lining for his role on offense is that Sunday's target came in the red zone with C.J. Stroud back under center. Noel has caught 20 of 28 targets (including four in the red zone) for 213 yards and one touchdown this season.

Minimal role on offense
Noel caught one of two targets for four yards, logged one carry for five yards and returned four kickoffs for 96 yards in Thursday's 23-16 win over the Bills in Week 12.
Analysis: One of Noel's two targets came in the red zone, and the rookie recorded his fourth carry of the season. After a mid-season spike in activity, he's had two or fewer targets in three of the last four contests. Noel's greatest weekly contributions have come on special teams, where he's settled in as the Texans' primary returner of both punts and kickoffs.

Up-and-down season continues
Noel hauled in his lone target for 12 yards while adding 89 total return yards on five punts and two kickoffs in Sunday's 16-13 win over the Titans in Week 11.
Analysis: Noel's production has been a roller coaster since Houston's Week 5 bye. In three of the last five contests, the rookie third-round pick has a combined 13 catches on 17 targets for 175 yards. In the two other games, Noel has one catch on one target for 12 yards. Noel's greatest contribution has been as a returner; he leads the team with a combined 457 returns yards (eight kickoffs, 23 punts).

Bounces back in win
Noel caught all four of his targets for 35 yards and returned one punt for eight yards in Sunday's 36-29 win over the Jaguars in Week 10.
Analysis: Noel was more involved Sunday than in Week 9, when he played just 11 offensive snaps and went untargeted, but that performance looks like a outlier. Other than last week's shutout, Noel has at least four catches and four targets in three of the last four games.

Personnel packages affected role
Noel said Wednesday that his diminished role in Week 9's loss to Denver was the result of personnel packages used by the offense, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Following two productive weeks, when Noel caught nine of 13 targets for 140 yards, the rookie's upward trajectory reversed course against the Broncos last week. He was limited to 11 snaps on offense, zero targets and just four routes run. Part of that was due to the returns of Nico Collins and Christian Kirk from injury, but Noel also cited matchup reasons. He noted the team's abundant use of two-wide receiver sets, which meant more running backs or tight ends on the field. Noel, who primarily…read more

Mostly invisible in Week 9 loss
Noel was untargeted, had one carry for minus-3 yards and returned four punts for 62 yards in Sunday's 18-15 loss to Denver in Week 9.
Analysis: Following a couple of productive weeks during which Houston was without top wide receivers Nico Collins and Christian Kirk, Noel was nearly invisible on offense with the veterans back on the field. Noel was reduced to impacting the game on special teams, which he did early in the third quarter on a 45-yard punt return to set up the team's final score. The presence of Collins and Kirk dampened the involvement of both Noel and fellow rookie wideout Jayden Higgins (one target). The loss of…read more

Another solid showing in win
Noel brought in five of six targets for 63 yards in the Texans' 26-15 win over the 49ers on Sunday. He also logged two punt returns for 11 yards.
Analysis: Noel finished tied for the team lead in receptions and for runner-up status in targets while also finishing second in receiving yards. It was the second straight productive showing in less than a week for the rookie third-round pick, who'd also produced a career-best 77 receiving yards on four catches during the Week 7 Monday night loss to the Seahawks. The absences of Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) have both played a part in Noel's recent surge -- Collins exited early…read more

Gains 77 yards on MNF
Noel hauled in four of seven targets for 77 yards in Monday's 27-19 loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: Fresh off his first career touchdown reception in Week 6, Noel followed that up with a season-high 77 receiving yards on Monday Night Football. The absence of Christian Kirk (hamstring) helped elevate the rookie's role, and it is currently unclear how much time the veteran slot receiver will miss. No. 1 wideout Nico Collins (concussion) also left Monday's loss late in the fourth quarter, so the Texans may ask Noel to continue serving an elevated role if either starter is forced to miss Sunday's…read more

May benefit from Kirk's absence
Noel could be in line for more playing time in Monday's game at Seattle with Christian Kirk (hamstring) ruled out for the contest, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Noel is coming off a promising showing in the Texans' win over the Ravens in Week 5 when he caught two of three targets and scored his first NFL touchdown. When Kirk is healthy, Noel has operated as the team's fifth wideout, but he'll move up a rung on the depth chart in Week 7. Houston is expected to deploy a game plan that focuses on running the ball Monday, but if the Seahawks second-ranked run defense (79.0 yards per game allowed) shuts down the ground game, then Noel and the receivers…read more

Scores first NFL TD
Noel caught two of three targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-10 win over Baltimore in Week 5. He also had one carry for five yards, one kickoff return for 31 yards and one punt return for 12 yards.
Analysis: Noel was on the receiving end of a four-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud early in the fourth quarter that upped Houston's advantage to 41-10. It was the first NFL touchdown for the rookie wideout, who then engendered some ill on the road by mimicking the dance of legendary Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis. Noel, who has five catches (on seven targets) for 22 yards through five games, has mostly contributed on special teams as a returner.

Targeted once in win
Noel caught his lone target for minus-2 yards and returned three punts for 15 yards in Sunday's 26-0 win over Tennessee in Week 4.
Analysis: Noel, who continued to play a limited role on offense, has caught three of four targets for nine yards through the first quarter of the season. He does have a more significant role on special teams as a punt returner and sometimes kickoff returner, although he was replaced on kickoffs Sunday by Tremon Smith.

Reduced snaps on offense
Noel caught his lone target for four yards, returned two punts for 11 yards and two kickoffs for 53 yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Jaguars.
Analysis: Noel was the wideout most impacted by the season debut of Christian Kirk, who missed the first two weeks with a hamstring injury. Noel played nine snaps, his fewest in the first three games. He did, however, maintain a role in the return game with a healthy Braxton Berrios inactive Sunday.

Contributes as returner
Noel was not targeted on offense and amassed 145 return yards on punts and kicks in Monday's 20-19 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Noel was given the fewest offensive snaps (15) among Houston's wide receivers, but he impacted the game on special teams. He averaged 26.0 yards on three kickoff returns and 22.3 on punt returns, including a 53-yarder that set up the Texans' final score with just over two minutes left. Noel has done little offensively in his first two weeks in the NFL, but he's seizing his opportunity on special teams with Braxton Berrios (hamstring) unavailable.

Disappointing debut Sunday
Noel had one reception on two targets for seven yards in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Rams.
Analysis: The third-round rookie failed to capitalize on the absence of wideouts Christian Kirk (hamstring) and Braxton Berrios (hamstring). Noel finished with the lowest output of any player with a reception while finishing in a tie for eighth among Houston receivers in targets. With Kirk expected to return soon, Noel's fantasy prospects appear bleak to begin the fantasy campaign.

Bigger role imminent
Noel is set for a larger role for the Texans on Sunday versus the Rams due to both Christian Kirk (hamstring) and Braxton Berrios (hamstring) being ruled out for the game, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Both Kirk's duties out of the slot and Berrios' as a punt returner appear as if they'll fall on Noel's shoulders in the latter's pro debut. A rookie third-round pick, Noel racked up an 80-1,194-8 line on 125 targets at Iowa State last season and also turned 13 punt returns into 199 yards (15.3 per), earning Big 12 Co-Special Teams Player of the Year honors in the process. Noel, along with rookie second-rounder Jayden Higgins, will be in the mix for targets from QB C.J. Stroud behind top WR Nico…read more

Could play more early with WRs hurt
Noel could see an expanded opportunity Sunday against the Rams, as both Christian Kirk and Braxton Berrios are dealing with hamstring injuries, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Noel could work in the slot if Kirk sits out, while fellow Iowa State rookie Jayden Higgins starts on the outside opposite Nico Collins. If Berrios doesn't play, Noel could also add punt return responsibilities to his ledger. Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Kirk is expected to miss 1-2 weeks as a result of his hamstring injury.

Snags two passes Saturday
Noel caught both his targets for 16 yards in Saturday's 20-10 preseason loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: The 2025 third-round pick slightly out-performed fellow rookie Jayden Higgins, although both young wideouts were overshadowed by veterans John Metchie (5-45-0 on eight targets) and Braxton Berrios (3-33-1 on three targets). Nico Collins and Christian Kirk should be C.J. Stroud's top two options when the regular season begins, but Higgins and Noel could be locked in a battle for the No. 3 spot straight through training camp and the preseason. Tank Dell (knee) currently has no timetable for a…read more
