Pre-Season Outlook

The hope is that Henry has just enough left in the tank to provide what was previously a missing piece to the Baltimore offense, even at 30 years old and with well over 2,000 carries logged at the NFL level. Decline will find Henry at some point, but according to NFL Next Gen stats Henry logged the third-highest top speed among running backs from scrimmage in 2023, behind only Chase Brown and De'Von Achane. For a back nearly 250 pounds to remain so fast seems to suggest that Henry might not fall off the cliff quite yet. Henry's enormous frame and unmatched anchor ability has given him a momentum advantage throughout his career that usually leaves the defender with the worst of any hit, so there's a chance that Henry's already notable longevity can be explained by the fact that tackles just don't hurt him as much as other running backs. Even if Henry can remain a 1,000-yard rushing presence in his age-30 season he's unlikely to do much in the way of receiving, unfortunately. It has never been much of his game (career high 41 targets in 2022) and Justice Hill led the Ravens running backs with a meager 39 targets in 2023.
