Milan Wild Boars Wins Against Old England Patriots to Move into Semifinals
A primetime comeback on Sunday Night Football (41.30 points, 41% of their total score) wasn't enough for Old England Patriots, as Milan Wild Boars earned the 119.34 to 99.58 victory. The late-match efforts were somewhat unexpected, considering their original Sunday night projection was only 27.55 points. Milan Wild Boars was led by James Conner this week (110 Rsh Yds, 28 Rec Yds, 2 TD). Conner scored two touchdowns and provided 28.30 points to the total. James Cook also chipped in 25.80 points on two touchdowns (105 Rsh Yds, 28 Rec Yds, 2 TD). With Evan Engram delivering zero points for Milan Wild Boars, the margin could have been bigger.
Zach Charbonnet really deserved more touches for Old England Patriots, as he put up a whopping 66 total yards on just nine touches. One spot where Old England Patriots wishes they could go back and change the past is QB. Lamar Jackson could have started in place of Brock Purdy, and that point difference would have been enough to secure the victory.
Milan Wild Boars has a player heading in the wrong direction, as Derrick Henry has fallen 43% below his season scoring average over the last four weeks. Despite the loss, Old England Patriots had a pair of players peaking for the postseason: Zach Charbonnet and Josh Jacobs. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 15.30 and 23.12 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 50% and 40%. On the other hand, the losers had two players who were fading down the stretch: Purdy and Jayden Reed.
