    • Alexander (knee) participated in the Packers'...

Alexander (knee) participated in the Packers' virtual offseason program this past week, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports.

Analysis: There were discussions within the Packers' organization during the offseason about trading Alexander, but the two-time Pro Bowl corner is still on Green Bay's roster following the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft. General manager Brian Gutekunst told reporters Saturday that Alexander "[is] still on our roster right now...we'll figure that out as we go along." Injuries have limited Alexander to 14 regular-season games over the past two years, and he's currently working through a knee injury that caused him to miss the Packers' final eight games of 2024 (including playoffs) and required surgery in late December.

General manager Joe Schoen said Thursday that the Giants will pick up Thibodeaux's fifth-year option, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Analysis: Thibodeaux will be with the Giants through the 2026 season and will collect $14.75 million in the fifth year of his rookie deal. The 2022 first-round pick missed five games in 2024 due to a wrist injury and finished the regular season with 28 tackles (14 solo), including 5.5 sacks, two pass defenses and one forced fumble in 12 games. Thibodeaux will be part of a formidable defensive front consisting of Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence (elbow) and 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter (foot).

The Lions picked up Hutchinson's (lower leg) fifth-year option Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Analysis: Hutchinson is now under contract through 2026 and has a projected salary of $19.78 million in the fifth and final year of his rookie deal. The 2022 first-round pick continues to rehab and recover from a fractured tibia and fibula in his left leg that he suffered in Week 6 against the Cowboys, and he's expected to participate in OTAs and be fully healthy by the start of training camp in July.

    • Howell was traded from the Seahawks...

Howell was traded from the Seahawks to the Vikings on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Analysis: This was a likely outcome for Howell after Seattle drafted Jalen Milroe on Day 2 of the NFL Draft. Howell has starting experience and is a serviceable backup behind J.J. McCarthy, who is set to take over as the new starter in Minnesota.

    • Ford (ankle) is atop the depth...

Ford (ankle) is atop the depth chart at running back, but that could change given the Browns' selection of Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins with the 36th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Zac Jackson and Lauren Smith of The Athletic report.

Analysis: Ford enters the final year of his rookie deal and has been a competent complementary player behind Nick Chubb the last three seasons. Drafting Judkins suggests the team will not bring Chubb back, and the rookie Buckeyes running back is talented enough to earn carries immediately. At the very least, Judkins will be part of the backfield from Day 1 and could take over as the primary back early in the season -- the same path Chubb took to become one of the game's best backs prior to a serious knee injury in 2023. Think of Ford as atop the depth chart with an asterisk.
