Browning remains the No. 2 quarterback in Cincinnati, after finishing last season without a single pass attempt. A seven-game stint as the starter in 2023 after Joe Burrow's season-ending wrist injury marked Browning as one of the league's better backups, as he led all qualified passers in completion percentage (70.4) and averaged 8.0 yards per attempt, with 15 total touchdowns (12 passing) against seven turnovers (all INTs). The Bengals won four of Browning's seven starts, with his only real areas of statistical weakness being a lack of downfield passing (6.4 aDOT) and a high sack rate (9.0 percent). He's 29 years old, having struggled to latch on in the NFL after going undrafted in 2019, so while Browning may never get a real chance as a starter, he's at least one of the best backups in the business.
