Little usage Sunday
Hill had two carries for five yards and added a 14-yard reception Sunday against the Browns.
Analysis: Hill played one of his higher snap shares of the season but didn't make much of an impact in the box score with three total touches for 19 yards. The common theme of Hill's useful fantasy games this season has been target volume. In the five games in which Hill had fewer than three targets, he has averaged 4.08 PPR points. Additionally, it's difficult to predict the game scripts where the running backs will be active in the passing game. Baltimore hosts a tough Denver defense in Week 9.

Finds end zone in win
Hill carried five times for four yards while catching all three of his targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 41-31 win over the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Hill found little success on the ground, but he brought through as a receiver for his second touchdown of the season. Meanwhile, lead back Derrick Henry continued to dominate as a rusher. Despite seeing his role shrink as the season has progressed, the 26-year-old Hill retains a bit of stand-alone value as the No. 2 running back on a strong offense. However, barring an injury to Henry, Hill remains difficult to count on for consistent weekly production.

Role continues to shrink
Hill had one carry for two yards and reeled in a two-yard reception on his lone target Sunday against the Commanders.
Analysis: Hill's involvement was limited Sunday, as he played just 38 percent of the snaps and was not a big part of the scheme with just two total opportunities. Early in the season, Hill was at least reliably drawing targets even if he wasn't seeing many carries. That appears to have dried up, as he has just two catches for 10 yards over the last two games. Baltimore heads to Tampa Bay in Week 7.

Takes back seat Sunday
Hill had five carries for 17 yards and added one catch for eight yards in Sunday's win over the Bengals.
Analysis: The veteran's usage in the passing game regressed Sunday as Baltimore needed to target deeper parts of the field to mount its second-half comeback. Hill has two games with a high target volume -- eight in Week 1, six in Week 4 -- but has otherwise gotten two targets per game on average. Baltimore hosts Washington in what projects to be a high-scoring game in Week 6, and Hill's usage could tick up as a result. Still, Hill is really only on the fantasy radar in deeper PPR leagues.

Leading receiver on SNF
Hill rushed four times for 18 yards and caught all six of his targets for 78 yards and a receiving touchdown in Sunday's 35-10 win over the Bills.
Analysis: Hill finished as the Ravens' leading receiver on a night dominated by Baltimore's rushers. The electric backup continued to generate hype with his biggest output of the season. Most of Hill's damage was done running routes Sunday, most notably on a 19-yard touchdown grab in the second half where he shook his assignment before hitting the open field for his first score of the campaign. Starter Derrick Henry stole the show with a 24-199-1 rushing line, but Hill still provided Flex value with 96…read more

Efficient in win
Hill had five carries for 33 yards and added a pair of receptions for 21 yards on two targets Sunday against the Cowboys.
Analysis: It was a season-low in snap share for Hill but he was still effective when called upon by averaging 6.6 yards per carry and 10.5 yards per target. Hill's diminished playing time likely had to do with Baltimore's run-heavy approach that leaned on Derrick Henry. Hill is still Baltimore's best pass-catching back but his week-to-week projection is volatile. He had eight targets in the first game and has four total targets over the last two games. Lands two-year extension
The Ravens signed Hill to a two-year, $6 million contract extension Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: A fourth-round pick by Baltimore in 2019, Hill missed all of 2021 with a torn Achilles' tendon but finally got an extended chance to play last season for the Ravens after J.K. Dobbins suffered the same injury in Week 1. Hill set career highs across the board with his 84-387-3 rushing line in 2023, adding 28-206-1 as a receiver. Seeing plenty of playing time
Hill had four carries for 22 yards and caught both of his targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 26-23 loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: Once again, Hill out-snapped Derrick Henry by a count of 35-30 in a loss. Hill wasn't as involved in the passing game this time around, though, as his target count dropped from eight to two. Baltimore still is finding its identity on offense with a rebuilt offensive line and the addition of Henry to the mix, but Hill seems to be in line for a healthy snap share for the time being thanks to his complementary skill set to that of Henry's. Active in passing game Thursday
Hill had one carry for three yards and added six receptions for 52 yards on eight targets in Thursday's loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Fantasy managers were surprised to see Hill actually out-snap Derrick Henry, 43-37. The Ravens were in a catch-up script for much of the game, however, and Hill's pass-catching chops and blitz pickup ability get him on the field in those scenarios. Henry will take on a larger share of the offense going forward, but Hill is positioned to be the passing-down back at least until Keaton Mitchell (knee) returns. In line for key complementary role
Coach John Harbaugh noted Thursday that Hill will maintain a valuable role in the backfield rotation behind Derrick Henry, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports. "He is a high caliber running back. So, to have him along Derrick, along with the young guys, it's really great. He's going to give us a little different style than Derrick Henry," Harbaugh noted of Hill, adding "I think he's going to play a lot and kind of do it his way."
Analysis: Though Henry profiles as the team's clear lead back, with Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins no longer in the mix and Keaton Mitchell still recovering from a knee injury, Hill is poised to have a key complementary role in Baltimore's backfield out of the gate in 2024. Joined by No. 1 option in backfield
Hill will likely handle a secondary role in the Baltimore backfield in 2024 after Derrick Henry agreed to a two-year contract with the Ravens on Tuesday, Brian Wacker of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis: Though they allowed Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) to reach free agency, the Ravens moved quickly to add a true No. 1 running back in Henry, whose size and power will complement Lamar Jackson's elusiveness. After Dobbins went down with a season-ending injury Week 1, Hill stepped into an elevated role out of the backfield and finished with career highs in carries (84) and rushing yards (387) while scoring three times on the ground. Enjoys career year in 2023
Hill finished the 2023 regular season with career highs for carries (84), rushing yards (387), rushing touchdowns (three), catches (28), receiving yards (206) and receiving touchdowns (one).
Analysis: Hill was Baltimore's running back of choice for obvious passing situations for most of the season, though rookie Keaton Mitchell (knee) took some of that work away from early November to mid-December before suffering an ACL tear. The fifth-year back also ended up with a larger-than-expected role in the rushing game, especially early in the season after J.K. Dobbins suffered a torn Achilles' tendon Week 1. Strong performance in playoff win
Hill rushed the ball 13 times for 66 yards in Saturday's 34-10 win over the Texans. He also had two receptions on two targets for 11 yards.
Analysis: Hill led the Ravens' backfield while matching his highest carry total of the season and recording his highest yardage total of the campaign. He was particularly effective running out the clock late in the game, as he accounted for 42 yards in the final quarter. Hill also remained involved as a pass catcher and has commanded multiple targets in five of his last six contests. Hill caught three of 10 targets for 26 yards in Saturday's loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: Hill did not factor into the carry rotation Saturday but did lead the team in targets in what was an anomalous game for the Ravens with Tyler Huntley at quarterback. In Weeks 16 and 17, Hill commanded a 22 percent rushing share in the wake of Keaton Mitchell's season-ending injury. Stellar all-around day Sunday
Hill rushed three times for 48 yards and secured all five targets for 64 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 56-19 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. He also returned two kickoffs for 101 yards.
Analysis: Hill was highly efficient overall while providing a 20-yard touchdown grab in the first quarter to erase an early 7-0 deficit and ignite the Ravens' offense on what would be a prolific afternoon. The versatile veteran was explosive as both a rusher and returner as well, but he could take a seat in Week 18 against the Steelers with the Ravens now in possession of the AFC's top seed.

Earns 13 touches
Hill rushed the ball 10 times for 26 yards in Monday's 33-19 win over the 49ers. He added three receptions (on three targets) for 31 yards.
Analysis: Hill led the Baltimore backfield with 13 touches but managed only 57 total yards. He was extremely inefficient on the ground, averaging only 2.6 yards per attempt with his longest rush going for six yards. His work as a pass catcher was more noteworthy, as he tallied his highest target count since Week 8. Hill had five carries for 23 yards Sunday against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Despite the pedestrian stat line, Hill finds himself thrust back onto the fantasy radar going forward in light of Keaton Mitchell suffering a season-ending left knee injury. Mitchell tore his ACL on Sunday night, and Hill now projects to see his role tick up as the primary complement to Gus Edwards. In the first nine weeks of the season, which is when Mitchell was either on IR or had a minimal role, Hill averaged 7.3 carries for 31.4 yards to go with 1.9 receptions for 8.4 yards. One catch on 30 snaps
Hill recorded a 12-yard reception on two targets and didn't log any carries while playing 30 snaps on offense in Sunday's 37-31 overtime win over the Rams.
Analysis: Though the touches were minimal for Hill, he was on the field plenty Sunday. Baltimore clearly finds value in his versatility in terms of pass catching, change-of-pace running and pass blocking, much to the chagrin of fantasy managers invested in Gus Edwards or Keaton Mitchell. In fact, Hill actually led all Ravens running backs in snap count against the Rams even though both Mitchell and Edwards had more fantasy usage. Effective in limited role
Hill carried five times for 31 yards in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Hill's role remains diminished with Keaton Mitchell's ascent in the offense as the veteran played just 29 percent of the snaps Sunday. He has not played more than 30 percent of the snaps since Week 9 against the Seahawks. Hill had one carry for one yard and one catch for six yards on 13 snaps Thursday against the Bengals.
Analysis: As many expected with Keaton Mitchell's emergence, Hill's role in the offense is taking a significant cut. Mitchell and Gus Edwards appear to be Baltimore's primary backs going forward, leaving Hill to play a reserve role and special teams.

Handles two carries in loss
Hill rushed two times for seven yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 33-31 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Hill played just 14 of the Ravens' 54 offensive snaps Sunday, while Gus Edwards played 28 snaps and rookie Keaton Mitchell played 13 snaps in the contest. The veteran's two rushing attempts and seven yards were his lowest in both categories for the season, while Mitchell continued to show that he should earn more playing time as an explosive playmaker. Hill had 13 carries for 40 yards in Sunday's win over the Seahawks and did not catch his lone target.
Analysis: While Hill led the Ravens in carries and played the most snaps among running backs, he finished fourth on the team in rushing yardage. Gus Edwards was strong on a per-play basis, rushing for 52 yards and two touchdowns on five carries. Hill rushed four times for 15 yards and caught all four of his targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 31-21 win over Arizona.
Analysis: Hill watched Gus Edwards rumble for three touchdowns but contributed out of the backfield in passing situations, tying Mark Andrews for the team lead in receiving yards as Lamar Jackson threw for only 157 yards. Hill has topped 30 scrimmage yards in each of his last six games played, and he set a new season high in that category here, topping his Week 2 total by two yards.

Limited to five touches
Hill rushed the ball four times for 46 yards in Sunday's 38-6 win over the Lions. He added one reception for two yards.
Analysis: Hill accounted for only four of the 18 rushing attempts by Baltimore's running backs, and he worked as the clear backup to Gus Edwards. That could be in part due to game script, as the Ravens played from ahead for the entire matchup. Hill did make the most of his chances, tallying the team's fourth-longest play from scrimmage with a 27-yard run midway through the second quarter. Hill has now topped 40 rushing yards just twice in six games on the campaign.

Held in check in Week 6 win
Hill carried the ball eight times for 35 yards and caught all three of his targets for zero yards in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Titans.
Analysis: Hill's 4.4 yards per carry was significantly better than Gus Edwards' 2.6 YPC, but the latter still saw more touches on the day with 17, including a 16-8 advantage in carries. The Ravens' backfield timeshare will make it difficult for either RB to make a big fantasy impact, especially in a Week 7 tilt against a Lions defense that's given up only two total touchdowns to the position through five games.

Finds end zone in Week 5
Hill rushed the ball seven times for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Steelers. He added four receptions on four targets for 13 yards.
Analysis: Gus Edwards maintained his role as the Ravens' primary rusher, though Hill arguably maintained a more valuable role with work in the red zone and as a receiver. Hill found the end zone midway through the first quarter on a 14-yard scamper, which was his longest gain of the day. Analysis: After being limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday, Hill returned to a full practice Friday, setting the stage for the running back to face Pittsburgh. Though Hill will be available Sunday, it remains to be seen how busy he will be in Week 5 with Gus Edwards (15 carries last weekend) slated to log his share of early down work and Kenyan Drake available to mix in. Deemed questionable, should play
Hill (foot/hamstring) was a full practice participant Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Hill missed Week 3 with turf toe before returning for a Week 4 win over the Browns and taking three carries for 33 yards. The addition of a hamstring injury doesn't seem to seriously threaten his availability for Sunday, but Hill may not get a lot of playing time even if he's active. Gus Edwards and Melvin Gordon both played more than Hill in Week 4, and rookie Keaton Mitchell (shoulder) is eligible to come off injured reserve for Sunday's game.

Hill (foot/hamstring) remained limited in Thursday's practice, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Hill is averaging a mediocre 3.8 yards per carry on the year, totaling 22-83-2 as a rusher in three games. Back-to-back limited practices should put Hill in line to play Sunday against the Steelers.

Just three touches in Week 4
Hill (foot) rushed three times for 33 yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 28-3 win over the Browns.
Analysis: Hill suited up after sitting out the previous game, but he got fewer touches than both Gus Edwards (15 carries, three targets) and Melvin Gordon (three carries, one target). If Gordon continues to rotate in on passing downs while Edwards and quarterback Lamar Jackson account for most of the rushing attempts, Hill will have a tough time earning enough touches to make a meaningful impact in Week 5 against the Steelers.

Hill (foot) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Browns.
Analysis: Hill, who was inactive in Week 3, was listed as a full participant in Friday's practice, and he'll be back in the Ravens' RB mix Sunday. In his return to action, Hill and Gus Edwards figure to work in a time-share arrangement versus Cleveland, with practice-squad callup Melvin Gordon also on hand to log complementary snaps. In that context, Hill is a lineup option in deeper formats, but as long as he's sharing RB touches, the 2019 fourth-rounder profiles as a hit-or-miss fantasy option.

All three should continue to see substantial volume on the ground in Week 3 against the Colts, and Hill's the top pass-catching option out of the backfield with J.K. Pair of scores after Dobbins exit
Hill rushed eight times for nine yards and two touchdowns in the Ravens' 25-9 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Analysis: Hill received an unexpected bump in opportunity after J.K. Dobbins was forced from the game with what has now been confirmed as a season-ending Achilles tendon tear. The fourth-year back took advantage of the extra touches, recording his first two touchdowns since his rookie 2019 campaign on a pair of two-yard runs in the third quarter. Given Dobbins' unavailability the rest of the way, Hill should slot into a relatively consistent complementary role behind Gus Edwards, although there's a…read more

Another strong preseason showing
Hill had two carries for 25 yards and one catch for 13 yards in Monday's preseason game at Washington, playing the opening drive before exiting for the night.
Analysis: With J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards held out alongside most of Baltimore's other key players, Hill cemented himself ahead of fellow backup RBs Melvin Gordon and Keaton Mitchell. The fifth-year pro has six touches for 86 yards through two preseason games, and there's some chance his relative advantages in speed and receiving skills allow him to pressure Edwards for the No. 2 spot in an offense that's expected to throw more often than in past seasons under the guidance of new OC Todd Monken. Game-long run in preseason opener
Hill rushed three times for 48 yards in the Ravens' 20-19 preseason win over the Eagles on Saturday night.
Analysis: Hill got the first running back touch of the night for the Ravens and ended up with a game-high rushing yardage total thanks in large part to a 37-yard run. The 2019 fourth-round pick, who re-signed with the Ravens on a two-year deal this offseason, is likely to fill the No. 3 running back role once again this coming season unless veteran Melvin Gordon unexpectedly pushes him off the roster.

Staying in Baltimore
Hill agreed Wednesday to re-sign with Baltimore on a two-year, $4.5 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The 2019 fourth-round pick has played nearly as many snaps on special teams (501) as offense (524) in the NFL, though he did have a career-high 262 rushing yards last season. Hill profiles as Baltimore's No. 3 back heading into offseason practices, or perhaps the No. 4 option if the Ravens add a draft pick in the early or middle rounds. J.K. Dobbins is under contract through 2023, and Gus Edwards recently accepted a pay cut to stay with the team.

Posts career-best rushing totals
Hill had two receptions for 10 yards in the Ravens' playoff loss to the Bengals on Sunday.
Analysis: The fourth-year back had his best professional season thus far by setting a new career high in rushing yards (262) and yards per carry (5.3). It was his first year back from an Achilles injury that wiped out his 2021 campaign. Baltimore had to mix and match at running back for much of the season with J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards both battling different injuries and workload restrictions, and Hill performed ably when called upon. Hill and fellow veteran Kenyan Drake will be unrestricted free…read more

Gets expanded role Week 18
Hill carried seven times for 34 yards in Sunday's 27-16 loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: The seven carries more than doubled Hill's output (three) from the Ravens' previous six games combined. Hill had moved almost exclusively into a full-time special-teams role after J.K. Dobbins returned from injured reserve Week 14, but Hill as well as Kenyan Drake were able to reclaim roles on offense in the regular-season finale while Dobbins was inactive for maintenance purposes. Remains uninvolved in loss
Hill rushed once for three yards and caught his lone target for 15 yards in Saturday's 13-3 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Hill, who received 24 offensive snaps this past weekend in Cleveland, saw the same amount of plays as fellow running back J.K. Dobbins (24) and also out-snapped Gus Edwards (11). The 25-year-old Hill will likely continue splitting backfield reps when Baltimore hosts the Falcons on Saturday.

No offensive touches in win
Justice Hill failed to record a single touch in Sunday's 16-14 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Hill played just two of the Ravens' 61 offensive snaps as the No. 4 running back behind J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Kenyan Drake. The 25-year-old saw most of his playing time on special teams, returning two kickoffs for 39 total yards. With such limited opportunities out of the backfield, Hill should remain far off the fantasy radar when the Ravens visit the Browns in Week 15.

Minimal work Sunday
Hill had one carry for two yards and added two receptions for four yards Sunday against the Broncos.
Analysis: Hill and Gus Edwards played the same number of snaps (17) but Edwards was more involved with six carries. Meanwhile, Kenyan Drake played the most snaps among the Ravens running backs and led the backfield with seven rushes for 29 yards. The offense was facing a tough matchup, but the fact remains that the team mustered just 281 total yards with Tyler Huntley at quarterback. If Jackson is out Sunday against the Steelers, the offense could be hemmed in once again.

Carries once in loss
Hill carried the ball once for three yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Jaguars.
Analysis: Hill operated as the Ravens' No. 3 running back with Gus Edwards active for the contest. The 25-year-old played just 14 of Baltimore's 72 offensive snaps, behind Edwards (36) and Kenyan Drake (18). With Edwards running as the clear lead back and J.K. Quiet in win
Hill rushed seven times for 30 yards and caught all three of his targets for eight yards in Sunday's 13-3 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Hill played 41 percent of the Ravens' offensive snaps in the contest, while fellow running back Kenyan Drake played 51 percent of snaps. With Gus Edwards (hamstring/knee) sidelined, Hill saw a bump in his usage. However, the 25-year-old will likely see his role diminish when both Edwards and J.K. Dobbins (knee) make their way back on the field. Hill will likely be difficult to trust when the Ravens visit the Jaguars in Week 12.

Pushed aside by Drake
Hill had four carries for 11 yards in Monday's win over the Saints and caught his only target for eight yards.
Analysis: Even with Gus Edwards (hamstring) out, Hill's role didn't increase in Week 9. Kenyan Drake dominated the backfield work as he played 68 percent of the snaps and took 24 carries for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Hill's role appears tenuous even with J.K. Dobbins (knee) on the shelf, and if Edwards is ready to play after the Ravens' Week 10 bye, Hill's role could diminish further.

Four carries in TNF win
Hill rushed four times for 28 yards and wasn't targeted in Thursday's 27-22 win over the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Hill looked spry in limited action, but Kenyan Drake was the primary beneficiary of Gus Edwards' departure due to a hamstring injury, as Drake turned seven carries and four targets into 67 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. With J.K. Dobbins (knee) on IR, Hill could step into a larger role alongside Drake if Edwards isn't ready to return in Week 9 against the Saints.

Loses fumble in return
Hill had five carries for 26 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's win over the Browns.
Analysis: Hill got back in the fold after missing two games with a hamstring injury. The Ravens also got Gus Edwards back from a knee injury and went with a committee approach, as all of Hill, Edwards and Kenyan Drake played between 27 and 36 percent of the snaps. Hill had a fumble late in the game that could have proved costly but otherwise was effective on a per-carry basis. The Ravens face the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football in Week 8.

Cleared to face Cleveland
Hill (hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Browns.
Analysis: Hill is fully healthy, while fellow running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) has been ruled out. If Baltimore doesn't activate Gus Edwards (knee) from the reserve/PUP list before Sunday, Hill would be in line for a prominent backfield role alongside Kenyan Drake and Mike Davis.

No limitations in practice
Hill (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Hill apparently is ready to return after missing two games, while fellow running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) now appears uncertain for the Ravens' upcoming matchup with Cleveland. The Ravens relied on Kenyan Drake after Dobbins left a Week 6 loss to the Giants, and they could get Gus Edwards (knee) back from the PUP list soon. Hill (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Analysis: Though Hill was able to practice in a limited fashion this week, he's trending toward being inactive Sunday. If he's out, Kenyan Drake would be a candidate to log added change-of-pace work behind J.K. Dobbins, with Mike Davis also in reserve. Analysis: This marks the running back's first practice participation since injuring his hamstring in the fourth quarter of the Ravens' Week 4 loss to the Bills. Hill (hamstring) won't play Sunday versus the Bengals.
Analysis: Hill emerged from Week 4 with a hamstring issue that kept him out of practice Wednesday through Friday. On Monday, coach John Harbaugh noted Hill was expected to miss some time, and indeed the reserve running back will log at least one DNP. Analysis: Despite J.K. Dobbins returning from his knee injury, Hill managed to turn in the best rushing performance of his career. Effective in limited role
Hill had three carries for 16 yards Sunday against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Hill's 16 rushing yards paced the Ravens' running backs, which is a good snapshot of how this position group has performed through two weeks. Baltimore's running backs have combined for 29 carries for 74 yards, with Hill accounting for five carries and 20 yards through two games. Hill has been the most effective on a per-carry basis, but five carries in two games is hardly an indicative sample. It appears Baltimore's run game will continue to struggle as long as J.K. Limited usage in opener
Hill had two carries for four yards and reeled in both of his targets for seven yards Sunday against the Jets.
Analysis: Baltimore didn't have J.K. Dobbins available Sunday, so it turned to a committee against the Jets, using three running backs. Kenyan Drake saw the bulk of the carries with 11 of the 15 by RBs while Hill and Mike Davis saw two rushes apiece. It's not an encouraging sign for Hill that he so quickly was surpassed on the depth chart by the recently acquired Drake. Could see added work
Hill, who has missed the last two preseason games with an ankle injury, is now in a better position to secure a role in Baltimore's ground game in the wake of the knee injury suffered by teammate J.K. Dobbins, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

Quiet in preseason opener
Hill rushed five times for eight yards and caught his only target for four yards in Saturday's 17-14 preseason win over New Orleans.
Analysis: Hill was more effective on the ground than starter J.K. Dobbins (no gain on three carries), but the 2019 fourth-round pick's modest effort didn't make much of an impression in a game in which five Ravens rushed for 25-plus yards. Hill's likely to work as a gadget guy and possibly a return man on special teams, but he's little threat to Dobbins or Gus Edwards as an alternative on the ground. Role diminishes in 2020
Hill had 12 carries for 60 yards and added five catches for 20 yards in 12 games this season.
Analysis: Hill's already-minimal role evaporated in his second season as he dropped from 58 carries for 225 yards and two scores as a rookie to 12 carries for 60 yards in 2020. His snaps dropped from 193 to 73 as well. Rookie J.K. Dobbins has cemented himself as the primary ball carrier for Baltimore, and the combo of Gus Edwards and quarterback Lamar Jackson take up most of the other carries. Even if Mark Ingram is gone next season, Hill doesn't appear to have a path to playing time in Baltimore…read more

Takes three snaps on offense
Hill did not receive any rush attempts or targets during Sunday's 27-13 win against the Giants.
Analysis: Hill garnered 14 of his 17 snaps on special teams during Baltimore's Week 16 win. The 23-year-old cost his team by being given a roughing the kicker penalty early in the fourth quarter, allowing New York to extend a drive that would culminate in the Giants' only touchdown of the contest. Hill has more game appearances (11) than he does carries (10) as Baltimore heads into an all-too-familiar Week 17 matchup against the Bengals.

Posts eight-yard reception
Hill reeled in his only target for eight yards during Sunday's 40-14 win against the Jaguars.
Analysis: The second-year back from Oklahoma State registered his fourth catch in as many outings during Baltimore's Week 15 rout, though he remains uninvolved in the ground game. J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards combined for 106 rushing yards and a TD on 23 RB carries, while Hill went without a rush attempt for the eighth time over 10 appearances this season. Hill is expected to continue contributing as a depth option Week 16 when Baltimore hosts the Giants' No. 6 rush defense.

Reverts to minor role
Hill had a four-yard reception on one target Tuesday against Dallas.
Analysis: Baltimore getting both J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram back in the mix had a direct impact on Hill's playing time as he saw just six offensive snaps. The role Hill saw against the Cowboys was in line with how he has been used for every game outside of the Pittsburgh matchup in Week 12, which was his only outing with double-digit snaps on offense. Hill will remain an ancillary part of the Ravens' ground game as long as Dobbins, Ingram, and Gus Edwards are healthy and available.

Likely reverting to reserve role
Hill is active alongside running backs J.K. Dobbins, Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards for Tuesday's game versus Dallas.
Analysis: Hill saw double-digit offensive snaps for the first time in 2020 last week against Pittsburgh and had 11 touches for 40 yards, but he should return to a minor offensive role with Ingram and Dobbins off the COVID-19 list. Hill had only one touch in six games during 2020 before working as the change-of-pace option behind Edwards in Week 12.

Solid in extended opportunity
Hill rushed nine times for 35 yards and secured both targets for five yards in the Ravens' 19-14 loss to the Steelers on Wednesday.
Analysis: The second-year back looked good on a couple of his runs, most notably on a 19-yard carry that was the longest of the game for either side. Hill hadn't logged a carry all season before Wednesday, so he certainly had fresh legs and was able to use them to carve out a bit more success on the ground than backfield mate Gus Edwards. Despite showing some encouraging signs, the reality is Hill seems destined to revert back to anonymity if Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins are activated from the…read more

Change-of-pace role awaits
Hill is expected to serve as the top backup to Gus Edwards in Thursday's game against the Steelers after fellow running backs J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hill, a 2019 fourth-round pick, has dressed for only six of the Ravens' 10 games this season, playing 108 of his 125 total snaps on special teams. This week's game will mark the first time this season the Ravens won't have two of their top three backs available, so Hill should be thrust into an offensive role out of necessity. Edwards and quarterback Lamar Jackson will most likely dominate the carries out of the backfield, but Edwards' limitations as a pass catcher could clear the way for Hill…read more

Role exclusive to special teams
Hill collected three tackles on 17 special-teams snaps, registering zero carries or targets on three offensive plays during Sunday's 24-10 win against the Colts.
Analysis: With rookie second-round draft choice J.K. Dobbins now a member of Baltimore's backfield, Hill has gone without a rush attempt in 2020 after fielding 58 during his debut NFL season out of Oklahoma State last year. After dealing with a thigh injury throughout much of September, Hill has made game appearances in Weeks 4, 6, 8 and 9 while registering five total tackles on special teams. His offensive role is likely to remain obsolete, barring an injury ahead of him on the RB depth chart.

Gets first offensive work of 2020
Hill garnered two offensive snaps, though he did not register a carry during Sunday's 28-24 loss to Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Hill dealt with a September thigh injury that held him out early in the season, but since his Week 4 debut, the 22-year-old has played a nearly exclusive special-teams role. 57 of Hill's 59 total snaps have come in that department, while he's yet to garner a carry amongst Baltimore's talented RB stable. Week 8 did mark the first time in 2020 that Hill registered a snap on the offensive side, and perhaps a limited role will continue in the near future for him as Mark Ingram nurses a high-ankle…read more

Ready for season debut
Hill (thigh) is on the active roster for the Week 4 matchup against the Washington Football Team.
Analysis: Hill hasn't taken the field all season after dealing with a thigh injury for the first two weeks and ending up as a healthy scratch in Week 3. That changes Sunday against the Washington Football Team, though it's admittedly unclear what, if any, role the second-year back might have on the offense (or if he'll be limited to special teams). Hill still presumably will have to work behind Mark Ingram, J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards in terms of the pecking order for carries.

Healthy scratch Monday
Hill (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Chiefs, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: A thigh injury kept Hill out of the first two games this season, but he's healthy and will still sit out. Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins are expected to lead the backfield while Gus Edwards rotates in.

Practicing fully
Hill (thigh) practiced fully Thursday.
Analysis: Hill is healthy enough to suit up Monday night against the Chiefs, but he's behind Mark Ingram, Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins in the Ravens' backfield pecking order and thus is off the fantasy radar as long as that context doesn't change.

Surprise scratch Sunday
Hill (thigh) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Texans.
Analysis: This is surprising news, especially considering Hill logged full practice time Friday. The second-year pro is a bit buried on the running back depth chart, as he appears to be the fourth option. In his stead, look for Devin Duvernay to handle kick return duties in the meantime.

Questionable despite full practice
Hill (thigh) practiced fully Friday and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Texans.
Analysis: Hill's ability to fully practice Friday means he's more likely to suit up than not. Even if he plays, Hill's likely to have a limited impact as the fourth running back on Baltimore's depth chart, though he should serve as the kick returner on special teams.

Limited Wednesday
Hill (thigh) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Hill didn't practice in any capacity last week, so logging a limited session Wednesday marks a step in the right direction. If he's able to get healthy in time to face the Texans on Sunday, Hill stands to play a depth role in Baltimore's crowded backfield.

Unavailable for Week 1
Hill (thigh) is ruled out for Sunday's season opener against the Browns, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hill's next chance to take the field will come Week 2 against the Texans. With Chris Moore (finger) also ruled out for Sunday's tilt against the Browns, Devin Duvernay and James Proche look like the top candidates to handle kick return duties for the Ravens.

Sitting out practice
Hill (thigh) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis: With two absences from practice to begin the week, Hill will likely need to turn in at least a limited showing in Friday's session to garner a questionable designation heading into Sunday's season opener versus the Browns. As a rookie last season, Hill logged 58 carries as the team's No. 3 running back behind Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards, but the Oklahoma State product may have fallen to fourth on the depth chart this season after the Ravens selected another back (J.K. Dobbins) in the second…read more

Back to work Monday
Hill was back at practice Monday after dealing with a soft-tissue injury, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Battling soft-tissue injury
Head coach John Harbaugh said Hill is dealing with a soft-tissue injury, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Harbaugh didn't elaborate on the nature of Hill's injury, so it's a concerning report considering the wide range of outcomes. If Hill is forced to miss any time, it'll mainly affect special teams, where Hill features as a kick returner.

Still in team's plans, maybe
Coach John Harbaugh said he expects Hill to take a big step forward in his second pro season, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: It's a reasonable expectation, but even an impressive offseason won't necessarily give the 2019 fourth-round pick a path to playing time in a backfield that also holds Mark Ingram, J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. It sounds like Harbaugh may carry four tailbacks on the 53-man roster instead of his usual three, especially if Hill and Edwards prove useful on special teams. Facing added competition
Hill's depth chart spot is in question after the Ravens drafted J.K. Dobbins in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The 2019 fourth-rounder had an invisible rookie season, and the Dobbins addition does not bode well for him. At best, Hill is the No. 4 running back on the depth chart behind Mark Ingram, Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Hill will have an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster and could be a trade candidate come training camp.

No room to run as rookie
Hill finished his rookie season with 58 carries for 225 yards and two touchdowns while adding eight catches for 70 yards on 15 targets.
Analysis: Baltimore leaned on Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards in the run game, leaving very little room for Hill most weeks. His season high in carries (10) came in a week where Ingram and Jackson were rested to get ready for the playoffs, and his second-highest total (seven) came in a blowout win over the Dolphins in the season opener. The explosiveness Hill showed in college didn't carry over right away in the NFL, either, as he managed just 3.9 YPC. Hill could be in line for a bigger role…read more

Finds end zone in win over Steelers
Hill carried 10 times for 39 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Steelers. He also caught one of two targets for 10 additional yards in the 28-10 win.
Analysis: Hill played second fiddle to Gus Edwards, receiving double-digit carries for the first time in his young career. He averaged just 3.9 yards per carry, but he salvaged his day from a fantasy perspective with an eight-yard touchdown run at the end of the second quarter. Hill received extended run with Mark Ingram (calf) inactive for the contest, but the latter should return for the team's postseason run, which should constrain the distribution of backfield touches.

Scores first NFL TD
Hill rushed three times for 19 yards and a touchdown while catching three of four targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 31-15 win over Cleveland.
Analysis: The speedy rookie sealed the win with his first NFL touchdown in the fourth quarter, scoring from 18 yards out. Starting running back Mark Ingram left this game with a calf injury, resulting in more work for both Hill and Gus Edwards (12 carries for 66 yards). Hill and Edwards will likely split the workload against the Steelers in Week 17, as Ingram should sit that one out regardless of his health since Baltimore has locked up home-field advantage throughout the postseason.

Dashes for 15 yards
Hill ran for 15 yards on four carries during Thursday's 42-21 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Hill enjoyed as many touches Thursday as in his previous two games combined, as the Ravens jumped out to a huge lead. The rookie back might get a little more action as the No. 3 RB on a run-heavy squad that has blown out several opponents recently, but that's a pretty low bar to clear. He doesn't offer much upside down the stretch as the Ravens seek to hold onto the top spot in the AFC playoffs. Next up is a matchup against Cleveland, which held Hill to 17 total yards in Week 4.

Sees minimal workload in Week 14
Hill had three carries for eight yards Sunday against the Bills.
Analysis: Once again the rookie was on the field for a limited time as he recorded single-digit snaps for the second week in a row and third time in four games. He has too many obstacles to seeing a consistent role in the offense with Mark Ingram and Lamar Jackson eating up nearly 70 percent of the rushing share while Gus Edwards also sees a healthy amount of carries. One carry in win
Hill had a three-yard run during Sunday's 20-17 win over the 49ers.
Analysis: Hill had two of his busier days of the season in Weeks 11 and 12 in blowout wins over the Texans and Rams, with many of his carries coming in the second half with the game well in hand. Those opportunities weren't available during Sunday's slugfest and it wouldn't be a surprise if the red-hot Bills keep it close against the Ravens on Sunday. Enjoys season-best usage
Hill ran for 27 yards on eight carries during Monday's 45-6 win over the Rams.
Analysis: Hill's eight carries set a season high, but half of his carries came in fourth-quarter garbage time. The rookie gets more work than your average No. 3 RB thanks to Baltimore's run-heavy attack, but he's still not somebody you should be looking to on Sundays. That is especially true this Sunday against the league's top defense, the 49ers, though San Francisco has been more generous against the run than the pass this season.

Six total touches in win
Hill had five carries for 18 yards and caught his lone target for nine yards in Sunday's win over the Texans.
Analysis: The rookie continued to see minimal time on the field, playing just eight snaps. Hill's usage when in the game was significant, though, as he had six total touches on those eight snaps, and he averaged 4.5 yards per touch. As long as Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards remain as a healthy and productive 1-2 punch behind Lamar Jackson in the Baltimore backfield, there won't be a path for Hill to have much of a role.

Generates 11 yards
Hill rushed three times for 11 yards in Sunday's 49-13 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Hill has struggled to get onto the field behind Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards, so a blowout such as this should've provided an excellent opportunity to increase his workload. However, the rookie fourth-rounder continued to manage a minimal role, as he logged 12 of a possible 47 offensive snaps (26 percent). It'll be tough to rely on Hill for fantasy purposes during Week 11's contest against the Texans, which shapes up to be a much closer matchup.

Reclaims minor role against Pats
Hill had three carries for seven yards Sunday against the Patriots.
Analysis: After seeing his usage bottom out in Seattle, Hill got himself slightly more involved in the offense coming off the bye against New England. He played 10 snaps and got work on three of those plays, though Hill was ineffective on those runs as he averaged just 2.3 yards per carry. Hill hasn't played more than seven snaps in any game this season and has has played five-or-less snaps in four of his last five outings.
