Reaches end zone in team debut
Williams secured his lone target for a 32-yard touchdown during Sunday's 28-27 win over the Commanders.
Analysis: Williams was on the field for just nine offensive snaps during his first game in a Steelers uniform, but he made his presence felt by securing a go-ahead touchdown with 2:22 remaining in the fourth quarter. It was the first time he'd reached the end zone this season, after being shut out in nine games for the Jets, and his volume with the Steelers figures to grow as he gets more familiar with the playbook.

Set for Steelers debut
Williams is active for Sunday's game against the Commanders.
Analysis: Williams was acquired by the Steelers on Tuesday prior to the trade deadline, so there was some question of whether he'd be ready to suit up for his new team. Per Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Williams may not see a full complement of snaps, so he may not make much of a statistical impact in his debut with Pittsburgh.

Likely to play Sunday
Williams, whom the Steelers acquired in a trade with the Jets on Tuesday, is expected to suit up for his new team Sunday versus Washington, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Williams has had less than a full week to familiarize himself with Pittsburgh's offensive playbook, but he looks to have done enough to make his Steelers debut. The veteran wideout struggled in his nine games with New York prior to the trade, totaling just 12 catches on 21 targets for 166 yards and no touchdowns. Williams will look to resurrect his season as the Steelers' No. 2 receiver behind top wideout George Pickens.

Moving to Steel City
The Jets agreed to trade Williams to the Steelers in Tuesday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Pittsburgh is sending a 2025 fifth-round pick to New York for the wide receiver's services, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Despite playing in all nine games this season, Williams wasn't able to develop chemistry with Aaron Rodgers, surpassing 50 receiving yards only once and scoring no touchdowns. Williams will team up with George Pickens at the top of the Steelers' WR depth chart.

Limited to one catch Thursday
Williams secured one of two targets for six yards in the Jets' 21-13 win over the Texans on Thursday night.
Analysis: Williams once again struggled for relevancy in the Jets' air attack, even on a night where Davante Adams missed significant time during the second half for a concussion check. Williams has been the subject of trade rumors as Tuesday's deadline approaches, and the fact he's had no more than one catch in any of his last four games seems to cement the notion his best fit may be somewhere outside the Jets organization.

Blanked in No. 3 WR role
Williams wasn't targeted in Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: Williams has clearly lost the trust of Aaron Rodgers, as Williams played 58 percent of offensive snaps in the absence of Allen Lazard (chest) but wasn't thrown to at all. Xavier Gipson got the only target by a Jets wide receiver other than Garrett Wilson or Davante Adams, and Gipson made the most of that opportunity by scoring a one-yard touchdown. Williams is unlikely to play a significant role in Week 9 against the Texans, if he isn't traded by then.

Should help replace Lazard
Williams is expected to reclaim a regular spot in three-receiver sets for the Jets in Sunday's game against the Patriots with Allen Lazard (chest) listed as doubtful for the contest, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: While both Garrett Wilson and Lazard were healthy last week, Williams ended up seeing a steep reduction in playing time in Sunday's loss to the Steelers as the newly acquired Davante Adams made his Jets debut. Williams played just 33 percent of snaps -- his lowest share since Week 1 -- and finished with one catch for 15 yards on two targets. Though he's poised to regain snaps Sunday, Williams is still expected to rank well behind Adams and Wilson in terms of target share.

One catch in limited role
Williams caught one of two targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 37-15 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: The former Charger dipped to No. 4 on the Jets' wide receiver depth chart after Tuesday's acquisition of Davante Adams, and Williams was on the field for just one third of the team's snaps on offense. To his credit, he kept his focus after being scapegoated for Aaron Rodgers' game-sealing interception in a Week 6 loss to the Bills, and Williams' lone catch against the Steelers was a fourth-down conversion while the game was still within reach. Set to suit up against Steelers
Williams (personal) was a full participant in practice Friday and will play Sunday against the Steelers, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Williams has twice run the wrong route in crucial situations this season, resulting in a pair of game-losing Aaron Rodgers interceptions for the 2-4 Jets. After New York traded for Davante Adams on Tuesday, there has been speculation that the team is looking to move Williams, which was intensified by Williams' non-participation in practice Wednesday and Thursday for personal reasons. Not practicing
Williams (personal) is back with the Jets but was listed as a non-participant in Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Williams reportedly did some work on the side but didn't actually practice with teammates. He's clearly the odd man out after the Davante Adams trade, and it may be that the focus right now is on staying healthy while the Jets try to work out a trade. Whatever the case, Williams isn't a recommended fantasy play Week 7 against the Steelers.

Back with team Thursday
Williams is present at Jets team facilities Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Williams missed Wednesday's walk-through practice due to what was termed as a personal matter, presumably as a direct result of reports that New York is trying to trade him following the acquisition of Davante Adams on Tuesday. Not with team Wednesday
Williams was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's walk-through practice due to a personal matter, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Williams' absence could be related to the Jets' reported desire to trade him after New York acquired Davante Adams from Las Vegas on Tuesday to bolster its receiver room. The Jets might need to eat some money on Williams' one-year, $10 million contract to get a deal done, as he hasn't played especially well this season in his return from a torn ACL and was criticized by quarterback Aaron Rodgers for running the wrong route on a fourth-quarter interception during a 23-20 loss to the Bills on…read more

Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Tuesday that Williams (head) cleared the concussion protocol, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Ulbrich previously revealed after Monday's 23-20 loss to the Bills that Williams was being evaluated for a head injury. The veteran wideout finished the night with no catches on three targets and was the subject of criticism from Aaron Rodgers, who told Cimini in his postgame press conference that the receiver ran the wrong route on the Jets' final play, which resulted in an interception. Could be on outs after Adams trade
Williams (head) is at risk of a role reduction after the Jets acquired Davante Adams (hamstring) from the Raiders on Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After completing his recovery from last year's torn ACL, Williams was eased in with just nine snaps in his Week 1 debut for the Jets, but he saw his playing time steadily increase in the games that followed. However, that trend ended in Week 6, as Williams saw his snap share drop from 70 percent the week before to a 53 percent share in the Jets' 23-20 loss to the Bills on Monday. Williams is being evaluated for a head injury following the 23-20 loss to the Bills on Monday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Williams was targeted on the Jets' final offensive possession, but he slipped on the turf and failed to bring in an Aaron Rodgers pass that ended up intercepted. He looked shaken up following the play, and he's now getting checked for a concussion. The pass catcher went catchless on three targets prior to sustaining the head injury.

Held to two catches in London
Williams caught two of four targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Williams' lack of involvement was discouraging considering Aaron Rodgers threw the ball 54 times as the Jets went pass-heavy in an attempt to dig out of a 17-0 hole. The veteran wide receiver tied with Breece Hall for a distant fourth in targets behind Garrett Wilson's 22, Allen Lazard's 10 and Tyler Conklin's nine. Team-high 67 yards in loss
Williams caught four of five targets for 67 yards in Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Williams helped set up the Jets' second field goal with a toe-tapping 21-yard catch on his only first-half target. He added catches of 22 and 20 yards in the second half to finish with the team lead in receiving yards despite seeing three fewer targets than each of Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Tyler Conklin. Analysis: Williams took another step forward in his third game working with Aaron Rodgers, setting new season highs in receptions, receiving yards and targets. The veteran wideout has gone from not being targeted Week 1 to a 1-19-0 line Week 2 to Thursday's performance, indicative that he's both rounding into form following last season's ACL tear and developing chemistry with Rodgers. Important catch in Week 2 win
Williams caught his only target for 19 yards in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Titans.
Analysis: While Williams remained quiet on the stat sheet, he saw a substantial bump in usage, playing 65 percent of the Jets' offensive snaps after being on the field for only 18 percent in Week 1. His lone catch was an important one, as Williams came down with a jump ball along the sideline to get the Jets out of a 2nd-and-16 pickle on a fourth-quarter drive that culminated in Braelon Allen's game-winning touchdown run. Ready for more snaps Week 2
Coach Robert Saleh said Friday that Williams will play an increased role Sunday versus the Titans after having been under a 15-play limit Week 1, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
Analysis: Williams only handled nine offensive snaps during Monday's 32-19 loss to the 49ers, his first game since suffering a torn ACL last September. The veteran wideout was essentially used as a decoy in his Jets debut, and even if his workload increases against Tennessee, Williams likely will need to continue ramping up for a bit before he can handle a full assortment of snaps as a starter. Until then, Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard figure to continue working as Aaron Rodgers' top two wide receivers.

Williams wasn't targeted in Monday's 32-19 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: Playing on a pitch count in his recovery from a torn ACL suffered last September, Williams played only four snaps in his first half as a Jet and continued to see minimal action in the second half. The former Chargers wide receiver is likely to gradually ramp up his workload, so he could be more involved Week 2 against the Titans, but Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard should continue to lead the Jets' receiving corps early in the season after combining for 12 catches, 149 yards and two touchdowns…read more

Ready for Week 1
Williams (knee) practiced fully Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Williams, who continues to move past the ACL tear he suffered in his left knee Week 3 last season, thus is in line to be available for Monday night's season opener against the 49ers. That said, coach Robert Saleh told Cimini that the Jets will monitor the wideout's reps Week 1, which figures to lead to Williams being on some form of a pitch count in terms of snaps, even if he feels like he could handle more extensive work versus San Francisco.

Analysis: Saleh said Williams had a "really nice" practice session Thursday, "including four or five catches, well over 100 yards" in team drills, per Nick Shook of NFL.com. The head coach also said that the Jets are "gonna be very smart with how we use [Williams]," but that "he's gonna be plenty available to make his mark felt." Analysis: It's a significant sign of progress on a day when so many other players that suffered ACL tears last season are being placed on the PUP or NFI lists and ruled out for the first four games of 2024. Williams isn't among that group, having suffered his injury early last season (Week 3) with no report of additional structural damage to his left knee. On track for August activation
Jets coach Robert Saleh said Tuesday that Williams (knee) has a similar rehab timeline to what Breece Hall had last season, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.

He took just 33 snaps over the first two weeks of the regular season but ended up playing all 17 games and finishing second among running backs in PPR scoring. Analysis: Williams went down to a left ACL tear in Week 3 last season while with the Chargers, so he was never a likely candidate to be ready for OTAs. The start of training camp in July could represent a better target for Williams, though the Jets haven't offered an official estimate for his return timeline. Steps up in Week 2
Williams recorded eight receptions on 13 targets for 83 yards in Sunday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Titans.
Analysis: Williams led the Chargers in targets and tied for the lead in receptions but was ultimately overshadowed by the big performance of Keenan Allen. Nevertheless, Williams had a strong performance in his own right, though he was interestingly targeted primarily in the short areas of the field after posting an aDOT of 12.0 in 2022. That could be the product of a new offensive philosophy under offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and will be an interesting trend to monitor in the coming weeks.

Analysis: Williams suffered a minor back fracture Week 18 last season and sat out the Chargers' wild-card round loss to Jacksonville six days later, finishing a once-promising season on a low note. He averaged 5.3 catches for 70.7 yards on 8.4 targets over the first seven weeks and 5.0 catches for 77 yards on 6.6 targets over the final five weeks, with an ankle injury limiting him to six snaps in the five games in between. The per-route and per-snap production wasn't much different from his 2021 breakout…read more

Restructures contract for cap room
Williams (back) agreed to restructure his contract Thursday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.
Analysis: The Chargers needed cap relief, and the restructures of Williams and Keenan Allen provided it. Williams' salary conversion creates $5.46 million in 2023 cap space for Los Angeles. Williams was injured in a Week 18 loss to Denver and missed his team's playoff game against the Jaguars but should be healthy now.

Has chance to play in second round
Williams (back), who won't play in Saturday's wild-card game at Jacksonville, has "an outside shot" to return in the divisional round if the Chargers advance in the postseason, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Williams was forced out of the Chargers' Week 18 contest at Denver with a back injury, which initially was termed a contusion. He wasn't able to practice Tuesday through Thursday and eventually was ruled out for the first round of the playoffs Friday. At that point, Williams underwent additional testing on his back, and it was revealed that he had a transverse process fracture, which was expected to keep him sidelined for 2-to-3 weeks, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com. Expected to miss 2-3 weeks
Further tests have revealed that Williams suffered a small non-surgical fracture in his back and the wideout is now expected to miss two-to-three weeks, per Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com.
Analysis: The Chargers had already downgraded Williams to out for Saturday night's playoff opener against the Jaguars, and it appears he'll miss time beyond this weekend if his team advances. Joshua Palmer and DeAndre Carter should get most of the wideout snaps for Los Angeles alongside Keenan Allen on Saturday and perhaps beyond.

Williams (back) has been ruled out for Saturday night's playoff game against the Jaguars.

Misses practice, listed as questionable
Williams (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's playoff opener against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Though Williams didn't practice again Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays that the Chargers plan to give the wideout up to game time before a determination is made on his availability for Saturday night's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. If Williams ends up out or limited versus Jacksonville, however, Joshua Palmer and DeAndre Carter would be candidates to see added snaps alongside Keenan Allen.

Williams (back) wasn't spotted during the initial portion of Thursday's practice, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Williams logged DNP listings both Tuesday and Wednesday, and the wideout's absence from the early stages of Thursday's session suggests that he's no lock to be available for Saturday's playoff opener against the Jaguars. Not spotted at practice
Williams (back) isn't participating in Wednesday's practice, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Williams failed to take the field for Tuesday's walk-though session, so what the wideout is able to do during Thursday's practice should be telling with regard to his chances of suiting up for Saturday's wild-card game against the Jaguars. On Monday, head coach Brandon Staley noted that Williams, who sustained a back contusion in Week 18, is expected to practice at some point this week before the Chargers take on Jacksonville.

Williams (back) didn't participate in Tuesday's walk-through practice.
Analysis: Though he required assistance off the field when he exited this past Sunday's loss to the Broncos, Williams appears to have avoided a serious injury. Williams was diagnosed Monday with a bruise on the left side of his lower back, and though he missed the Chargers' first practice of the week as a result, head coach Brandon Staley doesn't believe the wideout is in danger of missing Saturday's wild-card game in Jacksonville. Gets positive news
Head coach Brandon Staley said an MRI revealed that Williams has a back contusion, and the coach expects the wideout to practice at some point ahead of Saturday's matchup with Jacksonville, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Even though the result of Week 18 had no impact on the Chargers' playoff seed, Williams, along with the majority of the team's starters, played deep into Sunday's loss to the Broncos. Williams caught four of five targets for 32 yards before exiting with a back issue, but he appears to have avoided a significant injury and will have a chance to play in the wild-card round. Williams is scheduled to undergo further evaluation Monday after exiting Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Broncos with an injury to the left side of his lower back, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Even though the Chargers were locked in as the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs prior to kickoff, head coach Brandon Staley chose to have most of the team's key starters play in the regular-season finale in an effort to stay sharp for the wild-card round. Injures back versus Broncos
Williams (back) required assistance to get from the locker room to the bus after Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Broncos, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Williams exited the season finale due to a back injury that appears to be hampering his ability to walk. Hopes that the wide receiver's early exit was precautionary are fading, and Williams will need to heal quickly to be available for the Chargers' wild-card matchup with Jacksonville next Saturday. Commands 10 targets
Williams recorded seven receptions on 10 targets for 94 yards in Sunday's 31-10 win over the Rams.
Analysis: Williams had been reliant upon big plays while commanding limited targets in three weeks since his return from an ankle injury entering Sunday's game. However, he managed more targets than Keenan Allen in Sunday's blowout win and also managed several long gains of 26, 19 and 18 yards. While he's found the end zone only once, Williams has 353 yards combined across his last four games.

Williams recorded four receptions on four targets for 76 yards in Monday's 20-3 win over the Colts.
Analysis: Williams saw limited targets, as Keenan Allen dominated opportunity among the Chargers' pass catchers. However, Williams made the most of his looks, tallying gains of 26, 16, 16 and 14 yards. Though he's scored only one touchdown across three games since returning from an ankle injury, Williams has at least four receptions and 67 yards in each of those matchups.

Four catches against Titans
Williams caught four of eight targets for 67 yards in Sunday's 17-14 win over Tennessee.
Analysis: It was a somewhat disappointing day for Williams against what has been a vulnerable Titans secondary, but he came up big late with a 35-yard catch inside the final minute to help set up the game-winning field goal. Williams has a 10-183-1 line on 14 targets in two games since returning from an ankle injury, and he could post big numbers in Week 16 against a reeling Colts defense that just got lit up by Justin Jefferson and K.J. Analysis: Williams missed the previous two games due to an ankle injury, but the big-bodied target looked like his regularly destructive self against an overmatched Dolphins secondary. The 28-year-old had multiple receptions of 20-plus yards, including a 55-yard strike from Justin Herbert to set up a field goal in the third quarter, but Williams' most impressive reception was easily his second-quarter TD catch on which the big target nimbly tapped his toes in the back of the end zone. Ready to return Sunday
Williams (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Williams will be back in action this weekend after logging full practice sessions Thursday and Friday. The 6-foot-4 wide receiver has appeared in only one game since Week 7, and he re-injured his ankle in that brief Week 11 cameo against Kansas City. The lack of injury designation means fantasy managers can start Williams with confidence without having to worry about a last-minute replacement when he takes on the Dolphins on Sunday night.

In the eight games Williams has suited up for this season, he's logged a 38-510-3 line on 60 targets, and as long as he avoids any setbacks Friday, the 28-year-old should reclaim a key role in the Chargers' Week 14 passing attack alongside Keenan Allen, with Joshua Palmer…read more

Williams (ankle) was a limited participant at Wednesday's walkthrough session.

Per Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com, head coach Brandon Staley said that he's viewing Williams -- who last suited up Week 11 -- as day-to-day. Coach Brandon Staley said Monday that Williams (ankle) should take part in practice this week, Bridget Condon of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Williams continues to deal with the ankle injury that has limited him to one game since getting hurt back in Week 7. In that one appearance Week 11 against the Chiefs, he aggravated it after six offensive snaps on his only catch, a 15-yarder, along the right sideline and hasn't practiced in the meantime, missing back-to-back contests. Per Daniel Popper of The Athletic, head coach Brandon Staley confirmed after the game that Williams suffered an aggravation of the right high-ankle sprain that had sidelined him since Week 7. In line for typical snap count
Williams (ankle), who is slated to play Sunday versus the Chiefs, is expected to handle a normal workload, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: With the help of a Week 8 bye, Williams is in line to miss just two games as a result of a high right-ankle sprain suffered back in Week 7. In the first six contests of the campaign, he hovered between 84 and 94 percent of the offensive snaps, which seemingly can be expected of the sixth-year pro Sunday. The Chargers expect Williams (ankle) to miss a minimum of four weeks, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The wideout thus stands to miss multiple games despite suffering his high-ankle sprain right before a Week 8 bye. The Chargers also have wideouts Keenan Allen (hamstring) and Joshua Palmer (concussion) banged up at the moment, and they have already lost Jalen Guyton (knee) for the season. Williams didn't practice Wednesday due to an illness, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The Chargers' first official injury report of the week won't arrive until Thursday, with the team facing the Broncos on Monday. No matter the case, Williams' status is now worth tracking ahead of the Week 6 contest. In the Chargers' 30-28 win over the Browns in Week 5, Williams racked up 10 catches on 13 targets for 134 yards while No. 1 wideout Keenan Allen (hamstring) missed his fourth game in a row.

Another monster performance
Williams recorded 10 receptions (13 targets) for 134 yards in Sunday's 30-28 win over the Browns.
Analysis: Without Keenan Allen (hamstring) once again, the Chargers turned to Williams once more to lead the passing game and the big-bodied target delivered with another excellent performance. Despite Williams' brilliance, the game nearly turned into the worst possible outcome for Los Angeles, as the offense opted to stay out on the field for 4th-and-1 near midfield with just over a minute remaining and attempted to convert what would have been a game-sealing first down with a quick pass to Williams.…read more

Posts 120 yards
Williams recorded seven receptions on 11 targets for 120 yards in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Texans.
Analysis: Williams combined both volume and big-play ability to post his highest yardage total of the season. He led the team with 11 targets -- benefitting from the continued absence of Keenan Allen (hamstring) -- and also managed long receptions of 50 and 20 yards. Williams has now either hauled in a touchdown or topped 100 receiving yards in three of four games this season.

TD salvages otherwise dud day
Williams caught just one of six targets for 15 yards and a touchdown in the 38-10 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.
Analysis: Despite Keenan Allen (hamstring) missing a second straight game, Williams was shockingly kept in check despite the Chargers attempting 45 passes to just 12 runs. The 27-year-old at least managed to score the team's only touchdown on the afternoon, but through three weeks Williams has either been dominant or nearly absent with nothing between those spectrums. Expect a better offensive game plan against the lowly Texans in Week 4.

Eight catches in loss
Williams corralled eight receptions (10 targets) for 113 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 27-24 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: The absence of Keenan Allen (hamstring) opened the door for Williams to become the primary option throughout the first half of the primetime contest, but the Chiefs held the big-bodied target to just two catches in the second half, and zero in a critical fourth quarter that saw the Chargers cough up the lead. Nearly absent in win
Williams recorded just two receptions on four targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: One would have figured Keenan Allen leaving early due to a hamstring injury would have set the stage for a big day from the 27-year-old Williams, but those who followed the up-and-down roller coaster of the Williams' 2021 season shouldn't have been surprised by Sunday's outcome. Instead Allen's absence meant a pass-catcher-by-committee approach, as no one from the Chargers saw more than four targets. Expect Williams to be a larger focus if Allen misses additional time, with the likes of DeAndre…read more

Agrees to three-year extension
The Chargers and Williams have agreed on a three-year, $60 million deal, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Per the report, Williams' new contract includes $40 million guaranteed. The 27-year-old is coming off a 2021 season in which he logged 76 catches on 129 targets for 1,146 yards and nine TDs in 16 games. Now that he's back in the fold, Williams will reprise his starting role opposite Keenan Allen, giving the Chargers and QB Justin Herbert a quality 1-2 punch at wide receiver.

Incredible finish comes up short
Williams registered nine receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown across 17 targets in Sunday's 35-32 overtime loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: It's a bit ironic that Williams tallied his most receiving yards since Week 5 in the team's finale, especially considering the big-bodied target appeared to be one of the league's breakout starts through the first month of the campaign only to completely tail off as the season progressed. While the Raiders would ultimately come away with the playoff-securing win, Williams' 12-yard reception on the final play of regulation put the game into extras, and his 47-yard reception during the Chargers'…read more

Late touchdown salvages fantasy day
Williams (illness) caught three of his four targets for 63 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-13 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: Williams was kept in check for most of the afternoon until his beautiful diving 45-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter completely put the game out of reach. One week after missing the devastating Week 16 loss to the Texans, Williams immediately re-asserted himself as a dangerous deep threat. Williams (illness) has been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Williams and fellow wideout Jalen Guyton both missed Los Angeles' Week 16 loss to the Texans, but both players are off the COVID list, which sets the stage for the Chargers to have their nucleus of key skill players available for Sunday's game against the Broncos. To date, Williams has logged a fantasy-worthy 64 catches (on 108 targets) for 964 yards and seven TDs through 14 contests.

Could be cleared for Week 17
Williams (illness), who was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, will be eligible to play Sunday against the Broncos if he's asymptomatic or showing improvement in his recovery from the virus at the conclusion of a five-day quarantine, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register previously relayed that Williams, who is unvaccinated, was in line to miss his second straight game this weekend while subject to an automatic 10-day quarantine from his initial positive test. However, with the isolation timeline for all players having now been cut in half after the NFL and NFL Players Association reached agreement Tuesday on changes to the COVID-19 return-to-play protocol Tuesday, the wideout has a chance to play Week 17. Not eligible for Week 17
Chargers head coach Brandon Staley confirmed Monday that Williams, who is on the reserve/COVID-19 list, won't be eligible to play Week 17 against the Broncos, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Los Angeles placed Williams on the list Saturday and ruled him out ahead of Sunday's eventual loss to the Texans, but the team didn't provide any specifics behind why he was deactivated. Though Staley didn't go into much detail when talking to the press Monday, his acknowledgement that Williams won't be available for Week 17 confirms that the wideout was placed on the list as an unvaccinated player who tested positive for the virus. Inefficient with targets
Williams (heel) caught just three of his nine targets for 49 yards in the 34-28 loss to the Chiefs on Thursday.
Analysis: Williams briefly left the game in the first quarter after appearing to injure his shoulder on a dropped touchdown pass, but the big-bodied target returned shortly after and looked no worse for the wear. After a scintillating start to the season, the 2017 first-round pick has cratered back down to earth with just one touchdown over the last eight games. Analysis: Meanwhile, fellow wideout Keenan Allen is back from the reserve/COVID-19 list after missing Sunday's 37-21 win over the Giants, and running back Austin Ekeler -- who is questionable with an ankle injury -- also has a shot to play Thursday after limited practices Tuesday and Wednesday. Williams (heel) was listed as limited on Tuesday's estimated report.
Analysis: After not holding practice Monday, the Chargers ran a walkthrough one day later, so Williams' ability to join his teammates on the field is a positive sign he'll be able to play through a heel injury. In the end, though, his listing -- or lack thereof -- on Wednesday's report will be telling for his ability to suit up Thursday versus the Chiefs. Listed as DNP on practice estimate
Williams (heel) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate.
Analysis: Williams was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list in advance of Sunday's win over the Giants and ended up logging 59 of a possible 71 snaps en route to catching all six of his targets for 61 yards. At this stage, there's nothing to suggest that the wideout is in danger of missing Thursday night's game against the Chiefs, though a listed upgrade in his participation level come Tuesday would no doubt support that notion.

Efficient on six targets
Williams caught six passes for 61 yards on six targets against the Giants on Sunday.
Analysis: Williams' fantasy investors might be disappointed to see each of Jalen Guyton, Josh Palmer and Jared Cook catch a touchdown pass in this game, leaving Williams with just one touchdown in his last eight appearances, but Williams did well for himself considering he saw the most of top Giants corner James Bradberry. Williams is a candidate to see targets early and often as the Chargers face the Chiefs for a high-stakes rematch in Week 15.

Ready to go Sunday
Williams was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list and will play in Sunday's matchup against the Giants.
Analysis: This always seemed like the expectation after Williams was originally placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list due to being a close contact to Keenan Allen. With Allen officially sidelined ahead of Sunday's matchup, the 2017 first-round pick will operate as the team's No. 1 option with less heralded targets such as Jalen Guyton and Josh Palmer likely forcing a larger funnel toward the big-bodied pass catcher.

Trending toward playing Sunday
Coach Brandon Staley indicated Friday that Williams, who was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday after being deemed a close contact of teammate Keenan Allen, should play Sunday against the Giants, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: The report notes that Allen, who also is on the reserve/COVID-19 list, is not in line to play in the contest. As long as Williams gains clearance as hoped, he should be busy Sunday while heading a Week 14 wideout corps that will include Jalen Guyton and Josh Palmer. In any case, the Chargers have until Saturday afternoon to activate Williams from the COVID list.

Chargers head coach Brandon Staley said Wednesday that Williams was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list after being deemed a close contact of teammate Keenan Allen and is considered "day-to-day" in advance of Sunday's game against the Giants, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Cornerback Chris Harris was also placed on the list after being deemed a close contact of Allen, who tested positive for the virus Monday. Staley's comments indicate that both Williams and Harris are following NFL protocols for unvaccinated players, as vaccinated individuals are only placed on the list as a result of positive tests. Beyond Allen and Williams, the Chargers have Jalen Guyton, Josh Palmer and Andre Roberts on hand at receiver, while running back Austin Ekeler and tight ends Jared Cook and Donald Parham could also take on pronounced roles in the passing game if the team's top two wideouts are sidelined Week 14.

Back over 100 yards receiving
Williams caught five of seven targets for 110 yards in Sunday's 41-22 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Williams' 47-yard reception marked just his second 40-plus yard catch since Week 10. Not coincidentally, Sunday's game was also just the second since early October during which the big-bodied target went over 90 receiving yards in a contest. Non-factor once more
Williams caught four of his eight targets for 39 yards in Sunday's 28-13 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Justin Herbert repeatedly tried to connect with Williams on a number of deep throws, but the end result saw the big-bodied target held under 50 yards for the fourth time in the last six games. After a blazing start to the season which appeared to highlight a rejuvenated Williams, the Chargers have essentially transitioned away from the 27-year-old as a top target, instead turning to Keenan Allen as the main focal point.

Analysis: After posting huge numbers over the first six weeks, Williams' production has fallen off a cliff. The fifth-year receiver has managed only 10 catches on 21 targets for 137 yards and zero TDs over the last four games, a slump he'll look to snap in Week 11 against the Steelers.

Williams (knee) caught two of five targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 34-6 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Williams was quiet throughout, but his first catch was a big one, as it went for 26 yards and set up a one-yard Jared Cook touchdown catch on the next play. Little went right for the Chargers in general, as nobody on the team exceeded 50 yards rushing or receiving, so it's hard to tell how much of a role the knee injury Williams has been nursing played in his ineffectiveness. Analysis: We might be in the midst of an all-time "contract year" season. The seventh overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Williams has one season with 10-plus touchdowns (2018) and one year with 1,000-plus receiving yards (2019), but it's fair to say the big-bodied target hasn't put it all together, never catching more than 50 passes in a given campaign. Williams corralled seven of his 10 targets for 91 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Williams actually led the team in targets, once again connecting with Justin Herbert on a number of critical attempts. The 2017 first-round pick now has a touchdown in back-to-back weeks after scoring just five in all of 2020, and this one -- a nifty 12-yard catch and run -- is simply not a play we've seen Williams be able to make throughout his career. Notably spry in win
Williams caught eight of his 12 targets for 82 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-16 win over Washington.
Analysis: Williams looked noticeably more spry, nimbly breaking out of routes, particularly on the isolated touchdown reception. Multiple drops in the third quarter stalled an otherwise productive offensive drive, so it wasn't a pristine game from Williams, but it was easily his best contest with Justin Herbert -- who time and again looked to the big target in crucial chain-moving situations -- under center. Analysis: Williams hasn't lived up to his status as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2017 draft, but he's at least been useful as a big-play threat, and he now has arguably the best chance of his career to tack on more volume. Already lacking a reliable No. 3 receiver, the Chargers lost top tight end Hunter Henry (93 targets in 2020) to the Patriots this offseason, replacing him with 34-year-old Jared Cook (60 targets for the Saints in 2020) in what could be a prolific passing offense. Big game in win
Williams caught six of his seven targets for 108 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-21 win over the Chiefs.
Analysis: With the No. 1 seed in the AFC already locked up, the Chiefs opted to sit the majority of their starters, opening the door for Williams to have easily his second-best game of the season against a depleted secondary. While the 26-year-old did manage to play in all but one game this season, mid-game injuries forced Williams to effectively miss an additional three contests throughout the year, and that doesn't even account for a supposed AC joint sprain in his shoulder toward the end of training…read more

Quiet day despite big volume
Williams caught four of 10 targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 19-16 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: With Keenan Allen (hamstring) sidelined, Williams led the Chargers in receiving yards and tied Stephen Anderson for the lead in catches, but it was still an overall mediocre performance given his season-high target volume. Williams also hasn't found the end zone since Week 11, a slump he'll look to snap in the Chargers' finale next week against a Kansas City team that could be resting key personnel after clinching the AFC's No. 1 seed.

Quiet while playing through injury
Williams (back) brought in both of his targets for 22 yards in the Chargers' 30-27 overtime win over the Raiders on Thursday night.
Analysis: The speedster was rather surprisingly able to overcome his questionable status heading into the contest and joined fellow wideout Keenan Allen (hamstring) in suiting up, although both players made relatively modest impact. Williams had logged just two snaps against the Falcons in Week 14 before exiting due to the injury, so the fact he was able to play Thursday night would seem to bode well for his chances of garnering active status in 10 days for a Week 16 battle against the Broncos on Sunday,…read more

Suits up Thursday
Williams (back) is listed as active for Thursday night's game against the Raiders.
Analysis: As is Keenan Allen (hamstring), though ESPN's Adam Schefter suggests that the duo will be on some sort of a "a rep count." With that in mind, Jalen Guyton and Tyron Johnson could be more involved than normal, but Williams will at least give it a go Thursday, a context that makes him a hit-or-miss fantasy lineup option in Week 15.

Omar Ruiz of NFL Network relays that after both Williams (back) and Keenan Allen (hamstring) tested out their injuries in pre-game warmups, Allen gave "a thumbs up that both he and Williams will play" Thursday night against the Raiders.
Analysis: Confirmation of the duo's status, either way, will arrive when the Chargers' inactives are released prior to Thursday's 8:20 ET kickoff. Previously, it was thought that Williams would be out, but now it looks like he may give it a go after all.

Looks unlikely for Thursday
Williams (back), who is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Raiders, isn't expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported earlier Thursday that the wideout was a "true game-time decision," but Schefter's latest dispatch suggests that Williams is trending in the wrong direction as the 8:20 p.m. ET contest approaches. The Chargers will release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to kickoff, at which point Williams' status will be officially clarified. Game-time call
Williams (back) is a "true game-time decision" for Thursday night's game against the Raiders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: As is fellow receiver Keenan Allen (hamstring). Either way, the duo's Week 15 status will be revealed upon the release of the Chargers' inactives prior to Thursday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. In the event that Williams -- who was on the field for just two snaps this past Sunday against Atlanta -- is ruled out for the contest, added opportunities in the team's passing attack would be available for Tyron Johnson.

Questionable for Thursday's game
Williams (back) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Raiders after being listed as a limited participant on Tuesday's and Wednesday's estimated practice reports.
Analysis: Los Angeles is also listing Keenan Allen (hamstring) as questionable, with the two receivers' Week 15 statuses set to be confirmed upon the release of the Chargers' inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to Thursday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. If Williams is limited or out Week 15, added opportunities would be available for Tyron Johnson.

Limited Tuesday
Williams (back) was limited on Tuesday's estimated injury report.
Analysis: Williams had an early exit from the Chargers' Week 14 win against the Falcons, lasting just two snaps in the process. The oft-injured wide receiver mostly has avoided breaking down this season, but now with a back issue in tow there's a chance he'll miss his second game of the campaign. Wednesday's report may provide a glimpse into Williams' potential to suit up for Thursday's game at Las Vegas.

Dealing with back issue
Williams (back) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate.

Inefficient with nine targets
Williams caught four of nine targets for 43 yards during Sunday's 45-0 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: Williams tied for second on the team in targets but grabbed less than half the passes thrown his way and finished with a lackluster average of 10.8 yards per catch. He has now been held under 50 yards in three of the last four games and has just one touchdown in his last five. The downturn in production comes just after Williams seemed to be hitting his stride. He'll look to get back on track in an inviting matchup with the Falcons next Sunday.

Returns to full practice
Williams (non injury-related) practiced fully Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Williams missed practice Wednesday for a non-injury reason, but his return to a full session Thursday indicates that he's good to go for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Williams, who caught three of his five targets for 26 yards in this past Sunday's loss to the Bills, has been a hit-or-miss fantasy option over his last few games, but overall his floor is decent, as the wideout has averaged 3.2 catches and 52.9 yards to go along with four TDs in 10 games to date.

Non-injury absence

Records three receptions
Williams caught three of his five targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: While Williams saw more offensive snaps (67) than Jalen Guyton (63), they put on a similar performance, both catching three passes for little yardage. Williams' opportunities were limited by a talented Bills secondary, and a massive bump in production next week against the Patriots may not be likely.

Williams caught four of seven targets for 72 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 34-28 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Williams created one of the highlights of the game in the second quarter when he caught a pass across the middle and broke through defenders before racing for a 39-yard touchdown. He has now surpassed 70 yards in four of the last six games and has four touchdowns in that span. Two receptions in loss
Williams caught two of his five targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Dolphins.
Analysis: Williams was overshadowed by Jalen Guyton this week as the No. 3 receiver caught double the number of passes. Quarterback Justin Herbert didn't seem to look for Williams a lot until the fourth quarter, when he dropped two passes and one of his targets got intercepted. Williams also has not registered a touchdown in three consecutive weeks, but he could be poised for a nice outing with the lowly Jets on tap for Week 11.

He also added a 36-yard reception and was tackled at the two-yard line, falling just short of a multi-touchdown performance. Williams caught five of eight targets for 109 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 30-27 overtime loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Williams turned in a stellar performance in his return from a hamstring injury, which actually coincided with teammate Keenan Allen exiting early Monday with a back issue. As the Chargers' top perimeter option, Williams hauled in a four-yard touchdown to begin the second quarter, then ran free for a wide-open, 64-yard score late in the fourth. Williams (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest in Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Williams didn't play much during the second half of the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Panthers. Late in the contest, he was deemed questionable to return due to a hamstring injury, an issue that kept him off the practice field this week. As such, it's no surprise Williams won't suit up Sunday. Does little in Week 2
Williams recorded two receptions on four targets for 14 yards in a 23-20 overtime loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
Analysis: It was a lackluster outing for Williams, particularly after re-asserting his deep-game prowess in the Week 1 win over the Bengals. That's in large part thanks to a game script that emphasized getting 2020 No. 6 overall pick Justin Herbert comfortable in his first career start, with Keenan Allen (seven catches for 96 yards) and Hunter Henry (six for 83 yards) racking up most of the team's passing yardage. May be game-time decision Sunday
Head coach Anthony Lynn said Williams (shoulder) is a "game-time decision" for Sunday's game versus the Bengals, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: On Saturday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reported that the Chargers were preparing to play without Williams for most of September, so Lynn's announcement is a clear contradiction. When Williams was first diagnosed with a sprained shoulder on Aug. 25, he was given a 2-to-4 week timeline, and Sunday's game will be nearly three weeks after the injury. The Chargers may be without Williams (shoulder) for most of September, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Williams is nearly two weeks removed from suffering a sprained shoulder, which was expected to require 2-to-4 weeks to recover. If the absence includes Week 1 and at least one of the Chargers' two subsequent games, he's clearly trending toward the latter end of that range. As long as Williams is sidelined, snaps at outside receiver will be available for Jalen Guyton and Joe Reed.

Could be a go in Week 1

Analysis: We'll get a better read on Williams' Week 1 status once official practice participation reports start rolling in next week, but it sounds like the starting wideout could well tough it out in the Chargers' season opener. If that's the case, he'll be catching passes from confirmed starting QB Tyrod Taylor.

Per Daniel Popper of The Athletic, Lynn said Williams is "out for awhile" and may not be ready for the opener. The Chargers haven't ruled him out for Week 1 at Cincinnati, but at the very least, he figures to have a spot on the injury report. Praised by new QB
Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor suggested Williams will be a frequent target of deep passes, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Taylor said 50-50 jump balls are "more like 70-30 or 80-20" when thrown to the 6-foot-4 Williams. It's widely expected that the Chargers will run the ball more as they transition from Philip Rivers to Taylor and Justin Herbert at QB, but there should still be room for Williams to get a few downfield looks per game. While the Chargers also need to feed Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen and Hunter Henry, their shaky depth at the skill positions could lead to the top four players handling a dominant…read more

Gets fifth year
Williams had his fifth-year option extended Thursday, Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports.
Analysis: This one felt automatic considering Williams has improved each of his first three years as a pro. While touchdown regression spoiled a truly standout third-year campaign, the big-bodied wideout still posted over 1,000 receiving yards despite tallying just 49 receptions in 2019. His emergence as a deep-field threat despite playing with a less-than-desirable deep thrower in quarterback Philip Rivers only reinforced Williams' obvious growth at the position. The 24-year-old's development will be a…read more

Will rest knee during offseason
Williams acknowledged after the Chargers' Week 17 loss to the Chiefs that he had been battling pain in his knee throughout the season after getting injured in the team's win over the Colts in the opener, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: While Williams indicated that all follow-up MRIs conducted on his knee cleared him of any major damage and allowed him to play on, he wasn't the dominant force in the red zone he had been in 2018. Despite sitting out just one game, Williams finished with two touchdowns, eight fewer than he registered the year prior. On a positive note, he developed into more of a downfield threat, averaging a career-high 20.4 yards per reception and narrowly clearing 1,000 yards for the season. He'll likely…read more

Quiet finish to season
Williams caught two of five targets for 38 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Williams joined the Titans' A.J. Brown as one of only two players to record over 1,000 receiving yards while catching 55 or fewer passes on the season, finishing the campaign with 49 receptions, 1,001 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Though his touchdowns were down dramatically from the year prior, Williams' emergence as a dangerous downfield threat was a welcome development for Los Angeles. Still, the 2017 first-round pick was essentially "only" a deep-ball specialist, falling behind the…read more

Can't keep touchdown streak going
Williams caught three of his four targets for 51 yards in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: Williams very nearly kept his two-game touchdown streak alive, but a pass interference penalty at the goal line ultimately set up a one-yard Melvin Gordon plunge to register the Chargers' first touchdown of the contest. Williams needs 88 receiving yards to post a 1,000-yard season, but after scoring 10 touchdowns in 2018, his two-touchdown output has dampened an otherwise solid year from the 2017 first-round pick.

Practices fully Thursday
Williams (knee) practiced fully Thursday.
Analysis: Williams was limited at practice Wednesday, but his return to full participation Thursday puts the Chargers' starting wideout in line to play Sunday against the Raiders, who have lost four straight contests heading into Week 16. After going 11 games without a TD to start the season, Williams -- who made 11 trips to the end zone in 2018 -- has hit paydirt in back-to-back outings. Now that he's back in scoring mode, the 2017 first-rounder's fantasy outlook is on the upswing in advance of his…read more

Limited at practice
Williams (knee) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Analysis: No surprises here, as Williams has either been limited or held out of practice entirely in each of the last four Wednesdays. The issue hasn't bothered Williams on the field, with the 2017 first-round pick compiling 11 receptions, 251 receiving yards and two touchdowns over the course of the last three games.

Scores for second straight game
Williams caught four of nine targets for 71 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 39-10 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Williams finished second on the team behind only Keenan Allen in targets, receptions and receiving yardage. He gave his team its only lead of the game with a two-yard touchdown in the second quarter, giving him two in as many weeks after going the first 12 games without a score. Williams also broke off a gain of at least 35 yards for the seventh straight game and will look to continue his breakout season in a favorable matchup next Sunday against the Raiders.

Not listed on injury report
Williams (knee) practiced fully Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Vikings, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: The Chargers have monitored Williams' practice activity carefully for three consecutive weeks due to a knee issue, but it hasn't kept the big-bodied wide receiver off the field during game days. Despite recording three or fewer catches in five of the last six games, Williams has quietly continued to improve in what's shaping up as a career season. The 25-year-old ended his lengthy scoring drought last weekend against Jacksonville, finding the end zone for the first time in 2019.

Able to practice again
Williams (knee) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
Analysis: Listed as limited for a second straight day, Williams may be following the same pattern from last week, when he upgraded to full participation Friday. He then went on to play 71 percent of offensive snaps in a 45-10 win over Jacksonville, hauling in two of three targets for 63 yards and his first touchdown of the season.

Limited at practice Wednesday
Williams (knee) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Williams was limited last Wednesday and Thursday with the same issue, but he practiced fully Friday and approached the eventual Week 14 win over Jacksonville free of an injury designation. Look for a similar pattern to occur this week as Sunday's game against the Vikings approaches. The wideout logged 43 of the Chargers' 60 offensive snaps in the blowout victory against the Jaguars, catching two of his three targets for 63 yards and his first touchdown of the season.

Finally ends TD drought
Williams caught two of three targets for 63 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 45-10 rout of the Jaguars.
Analysis: After finding the end zone 10 times in 16 games last season, it took until Week 14 for Williams to score his first TD of 2019. The third-year wideout has otherwise had a strong campaign, though, and his 841 receiving yards are already a new career high.

Ready for Week 14
Williams (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Jacksonville.
Analysis: For the second week in a row, Williams' practice reps were capped due to a knee injury, but it won't impact his game-day viability. In fact, he's coming off a career-best performance (117 receiving yards) against a tough Broncos defense. He'll look to keep up the pace against a Jags unit that has allowed 8.3 yards per target and eight touchdowns to wide receivers in 12 contests this season.

Still limited Thursday
Williams (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday.
Analysis: So far there's been nothing to suggest that Williams is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Jaguars, but it's worth noting that the wideout is the only Chargers player listed as having his Thursday practice participation listed as less than full due to an injury.

Limited in Wednesday's practice
Williams was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury.
Analysis: Williams caught five of seven targets for a career-high 117 yards during the Week 13 loss to the Broncos, but he failed to reach the end zone for the 11th time in as many outings this season. Positive regression on that front should come for Williams eventually, but he'll have to shake off the knee injury first to make that a reality. It's at least encouraging that the 25-year-old receiver wasn't held out of practice entirely, so his chances of playing Sunday in Jacksonville appear promising…read more

Heroic effort not enough
Williams caught five of his seven targets for 117 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: While Williams' season-long battle with the end zone continues to get the best of the 25-year-old, it's clear the 2017 first-round pick has easily emerged as the Chargers' premiere deep threat. A 52-yard reception in the first half ultimately set up the team's first offensive touchdown, and it arguably should have been Williams' first jaunt in the end zone as well if not for a woefully under-thrown ball from quarterback Philip Rivers that forced the wide open receiver to derail his momentum on…read more

Returns to full practice
Williams (knee) practiced fully Thursday.
Analysis: Williams was limited Wednesday, but his return to a full practice Thursday puts the wideout in line to play Sunday against the Broncos. Ten games into his 2019 campaign, Williams has maintained PPR utility by averaging 3.3 catches (on 6.2 targets) for 66.1 receiving yards, but it's notable that he hasn't scored a TD thus far after making a total of 11 trips to the end zone last year.

Limited at practice Wednesday
Williams was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to a knee injury.
Analysis: With the Chargers coming off their bye week, it's notable that Williams is one of four players whose reps were restricted. As Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times notes, Williams dealt with some knee issues earlier this season, so it bears tracking his status this week to see if the wideout's reps are simply being managed at this stage or if there's a setback in play.

Catches another deep ball
Williams caught two of five targets for 76 yards in Monday night's 24-17 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Williams' performance was highlighted by an outstanding 50-yard reception on Los Angeles' final offensive series. That grab not only set up a dramatic finish to the game but also significantly boosted Williams' fantasy output. In fact, he ended up trailing only Austin Ekeler for the Chargers' team lead in receiving yards. With a catch of at least 40 yards in an incredible four consecutive games, Williams now enters the bye week averaging a whopping 20.0 yards per reception on the season.

Kept to two catches in loss
Williams secured two of three targets for 55 yards in the Chargers' 26-24 loss to the Raiders on Thursday.
Analysis: The majority of Williams' production came on a game-long 45-yard grab, but he was otherwise held in check by an aggressive Raiders defense. Williams had put together a season-high 111-yard performance in Week 9 versus the Packers, so the upside is certainly there for the 2017 first-round pick. However, Williams continues to see a relatively modest target share most weeks (six or fewer looks in four straight games), but he'll look to garner more opportunities versus the Chiefs in a Week 11…read more

Continues as deep threat
Williams caught three of his four targets for 111 yards in the 26-11 win Sunday against the Packers.
Analysis: The 25-year-old finally had a breakout game thanks in large part to a simple run-after-catch which ultimately finished as a 56-yard reception. A deep 46-yard bomb set up the team's second touchdown, essentially icing the game early in the fourth quarter. While Williams still hasn't scored a touchdown after a 2018-19 campaign in which he caught 10, he's become an increasingly dangerous receiver for a Chargers offense that looked utterly brilliant in its first game with offensive coordinator…read more
